Earendil sighed as Miyuki ran off again. "I have no idea," he muttered to Lin. He stood up and held one hand down to her to help her to her feet. "Come on. We'll have a chance to sleep soon enough."

Inside the hut, Celeb woke with a start, though his muscles were too stiff for him to make any sudden movements.

"Miyuki!" he moaned. "Dammit girl, have a care, would you?" He cracked open his good eye and glared at her. "Anyone ever told you to calm down a bit?"

"Yes!" Celeb growled. "Don't wake people like that! You're going to make them think someone's trying to kill them or something! Do it to the wrong person and you'll get yourself killed!"

He tried to roll over and sit up, but his muscles were too stiff, and he flinched with every effort.

Earendil blinked at Miyuki, calmer now that his heartbeat had calmed down a bit. "He awake?" he asked her, since she was coming directly towards him. "Something wrong?"

He had heard the yelling, and he had a feeling Celeb was less than impressed, but he didn't know about Celeb having trouble getting up.

"Ah," Earendil nodded. "All right, I'll help him. You go on back to Haldia all right? I'll be right there with Celeb."

He headed to the hut to help his cousin get up. He had a feeling he was going to be in a lot of pain ... he had had quite a few injuries after all, and laying down would have only made him grow stiff.

Haldia was telling Lin just how helpful Miyuki had been. Helping to spot the plants she described, picking and peeling the fruit ...

"Ah, and here you are," she beamed as Miyuki joined them again. "Come, it is ready." The salad had been portioned onto five leaves, and Haldia motioned for Lin and Miyuki each to take one of them.

Haldia watched Miyuki curiously. "What are those?" she asked, pointing at the chopsticks. "I have never seen such things before ..."

Though she had to admit it looked much more practical than a fork, whatever it was.

"Interesting," Haldia mused, watching Miyuki as she began to eat.

There was a shuffling noise as Earendil and Celeb joined them. Celeb had one arm slung around Earendil to hold him up, and he was dragging his feet, barely moving as Earendil more or less dragged him over to the others.

"Celeb!" Haldia exclaimed, alarmed. "What ... you were not so injured before!"

"Just stiffening up," Celeb replied, wincing as Earendil set him down next to Haldia. "And bruising up." He reached for one of the servings, exhaling slowly to combat the pain that shot through him.

"Here," Hadia murmured, picking up the food and holding it closer to him.

Celeb half smiled with the uninjured side of his face. "Thanks," he murmured softly. He picked up a slice of orange and lifted it slowly and painfully to his mouth.
