After a little waiting, Claire and Rajasi had managed to find open seats in the Pokemon Center. Rajasi was busy looking up information in the local paper and Claire had resorted to people watching. Although neither trainer’s Pokemon had been hurt very badly, they had both taken their team in for treatment earlier. The crowd was pretty boring as it were… but suddenly Kokoro’s Pokeball began to shake and the clever Quilava had materialized in the busy center.

’I sense something!’ Kokoro shouted to Claire as the girl gave her a quizzical look. The Volcano Pokemon then made like a Sudowoodo and Nuzleaf’ed out of the Center.

“Uh, be right back!” Claire added as Rajasi looked up from his paper. He shrugged and went back to reading as Claire followed her Pokemon outside. Only to walk smack dab into a girl with flowing black hair and an equally monochrome outfit. With a small thud the two girls were promptly on the pavement.

”Sheesh, I can’t leave you alone for a minute!” Moti added as he walked up to the scene offering his hand to Claire. She glanced up, again surprised by the orange haired man’s timing, and accepted his help off the ground. “Sorry about my friend here,” Moti addressed Riza, offering her a hand up as well, “she can be kind of a klutz.”

”Only around you it seems.” Claire muttered as she rubbed her now slightly sore behind. “You’re like the some sort of accident causing magnet. But Kokoro seemed to notice you were coming and dragged me outside.” Claire added, only just noticing that the girl she bumped into also had a Quilava. "...Or maybe it is because of the Quilava there."

‘Hi!’ Kokoro said to the Quilava before her, in the Pokemon language of course.

Keegan couldn't help but return the grin Kasiya was giving him, as he knew she could never turn down a challenge, even a small one. Then again, he didn't consider it a real challenge since he was only testing a 'theory', but even still. He gave Shiva's PokeBall a toss as well, watching it spiral upwards before he caught it, and he sent it spinning onto the field in front of him, revealing the ever-happy Sealeo. Shiva let out a few loud barks and clapped her flippers together, looking strangely eager for a battle. "Let's give 'em a good show, Shiva," the redhead said, and Shiva responded with another eager bark.

Kasiya tilted her head slightly at the sight of the seal Pokemon, now only registering that other than a little while ago at the mansion, this was the first time she'd seen Shiva. "Where do you keep getting all these new Pokemon?" she asked, hesitating for a moment before throwing her own Pokeball. After all, in the past few days, Shiva was what, the fifth new Pokemon she'd seen him with? He also had that Skarmory, Grovyle, Kenny the Duskull (even though she didn't know he'd returned the little ghost to his rightful owner) along with Shiva. Okay, so maybe it was only four, but she still didn't know how he kept managing to have a new Pokemon or two every time she saw him. Her Pokeball hit the ground, giving a flash of light as Leviathan appeared before her.

The Swampert blinked a few times and looked around for a moment or two before her gaze came to rest on the happy-looking Sealeo in front of her, and with a cry she realized it was Shiva, one of her old teammates from Dante's team! The Mud Fish Pokemon gave a salute before crouching down into a battle stance, clearly not about to let their old camaraderie stop her from fighting her hardest.

Kasiya didn't seem to notice that her Swampert recognized the Sealeo, as she was already pointing at the Ice and Water-type, a command on her lips. "Start things off with a Mud Bomb," she said sharply, a little amazed at how quickly she could change from being all mixed up with different emotions to battle-mode in a heartbeat. Levi's cheeks ballooned out a bit before she opened her mouth and spat a rather large glob of muck at her former teammate.

Steam poured from the shower as out emerged the now fully recovered Sasha Jennings Beauchamp IV. She let out a pleasured sigh as she wrapped a towel around her young and ample figure. "Aaah. Juste ce dont j'avais besoin." Sasha said, looking to Omelette for her input. The small Pokemon let out a breath of her own, then proceeded to further imitate her trainer by wrapping her tail around her waist.

Sasha giggled at her Pokemon and reached for the blow dryer, her face beaming with fulfillment. She sang as she dried her hair, imagining the noise from the dryer to be a roaring crowd begging for more. The thought brought her voice to new heights, and her free hand was drumming wildly on the countertop as she sang her heart out. Omelette tried to join in, but her meek cries were drowned out by the pink haired girl's passion as she continued to sing long after her hair was dry.

Sasha exited the bathroom with a spring in her step, sporting only a rather tantalizing set of undergarments. Her prance stopped as she saw a bright purple blob clutching the sheets, and the girl froze in fear, hoping she hadn't woken Mitsu up. Sasha tiptoe'd closer, letting out a sigh of relief when she discovered she was fast asleep. The tear stains on her pillow brought the reality of the situation right back to her. Her talk wi'z Mike must have been rather emotional. she thought before crawling into the other bed. Sasha let the soft and clean sheets that caressed her body melt away her troubles, as the girl scooted over to make room, hoping to wake up next to a certain someone. Sasha closed her eyes and smiled wickedly.

What met Mike was not the expected layout of the volcanic rim, but a black void. "Didn't I just..." began the boy, his thoughts interrupted when he noticed Portabello sitting in silence before him. "I suppose this is what you meant when you said to...you know...I'm going to shut up now." The boy took in a deep breath and shut his eyes.

Outside of his mind, the boy sat almost perfectly still. "Just like a cadaver." Milo said with a smile, inspecting his other half's unmoving face. Until just a few moments ago Mike's face was racked with pain; beautiful, wondrous pain. "He must have been thinking of someone very special. I want to see it again!" the shadow said with an almost genuine sadness.

When Milo broke from studying Mike, he leaned backward to look at the Breloom across from him. The phantom's body craned back until he was completely upside down. "Oh-HO! What's this?!" Milo's head spun upright, followed by the rest of his body. Present on Portabello's face was a visage of excruciating agony. "BEAUTIFUL! MAGNIFICENT!" Milo cheered, clapping his knife-like hands together. "He just can't take it! The sounds! The sights! They're too much! Ah-hahahaha!" Milo lowered himself to the Pokemon's face, making sure to take in every second if his misery. "I love it. Such pain. Even better that it is willing, that he wanted it! Pain is so much better viewed through the lens of blinding ignorance." Milo chuckled, running a dagger-like finger across the Breloom's face, wishing it would cut. Strangely enough, the shadow could swear he heard the mushroom say something in response. Something directed only to him. He shrugged.

Milo continued to watch for hours as the two sat locked in silence, the struggle apparent on both their faces and their minds too glorious not to watch.

Much time passed before the two awoke from their trance. When Mike opened his eyes, Milo was no where to be found. Wordlessly he stood up and walked over to his Pokemon, who struggled a smile.

Master, I- Portabello began.

"It's alright." Mike interjected. "I know." Mike held up an Ultra Ball and recalled his Pokemon. He needed the rest. "You still with me Nitro?" the boy called out to his now sleeping Charizard.

Nitro slowly opened his eyes and looked at his trainer. Without moving the rest of his body, the dragon opened his wings, letting them fall lazily to the ground. Mike smiled. "Just a quick trip down and I'll let you snooze. Promise." Nitro nodded, and after a loud yawn, safely carried Mike down to the arena, where he continued his nap.

Not following his Pokemon's lead, Mike instead walked to the center of the stage. He took in a deep breath an closed his eyes, pushing his hands down as he focused his energy in his chest. With a mighty breath he spewed a stream of fire from his mouth. He watched the bright orange and red colors
fizzle out and drift into the air and smiled. "Not bad." he said.

The stage was set, the actors were all in bed resting (Ha! As if.) for their big debut tomorrow morning. "Yes my delightful little insomniacs, tomorrow will be one hell of a show." But still, there was one missing, one that complete the cast. Mike, without hesitation, withdrew his Pokenav and took a long hard look at it.

Hm-hm-hm-hm. echoed Milo in his head. I know what you're thinking, and I love it.

The hour was early, but Mike knew that she would still be up. "She never let something as trivial as sleep get in the way of her training." he said to himself, scrolling down the list. As he made his way to the bottom of the alphabet, he paused. He wasn't exactly sure why he was doing this. After a silent breath, he pushed send and drew the device to his ear. Mike waited and waited as it rang. The dull and simple ringtone that played made him smile. After a few moments, the ringing suddenly stopped, followed by a silence signifying that the person had picked up, but wasn't speaking. The boy stood in waiting, not wanting to be the first.

"Hey." a soft, trembling voice said finally.

"Hey Winona."

Keegan continued smirking even when he saw Kasiya's confused gaze, and he shrugged. "She was a gift from a good friend," was all he said, even though it was the exact truth. He hadn't been expecting to see Levi, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized he hadn't really known which Pokemon he'd been expecting her to send out. Levi doesn't have many attacks that'll be effective against Shiva, he thought, though it seemed Kasiya was eager to make him eat those thoughts as the Swampert launched a blob of gross-looking muck at Shiva. He knew there was no chance for the Sealeo to evade it, so he watched as she hunkered down and took the attack directly to the center of her back, which burst on impact, sending bits of mud flying in every direction.

"Shiva, Hail," he called, having taken a few extra steps back as he didn't want any mud getting on his jacket. The Sealeo clapped her flippers in reply and pointed her nose towards the sky. An icy chill filled the air and a moment or so later, chunks of ice began to rain down from the sky, littering the ground around them. Shiva's body shimmered slightly as the hail seemed to be absorbed right into her, restoring a bit of her health as a result. "Is that all you've got?" the redhead called out to Kasiya. "Don't you dare hold back on me!"

Watching Allegra behave as she normally did gave Ryka plenty of ideas for an appeal. She seemed to use her tail a lot; not only to chase, but to pick up things too. In fact, while Ryka sat down to think again, Allegra had run off and tried to catch Butterfree with her tail (thankfully they were quite docile). It functioned almost as a hand, right?

"Allegra," Ryka called, "are you ready to practice?" Allegra glanced at Ryka, then back to the Butterfree. Back to Ryka, back to the Butterfree. Swiping her tail yet again at the Butterfree, she realized that they had flown out of her reach. They stuck out their tongues to mock Allegra, who only bowed her head in defeat and padded back to Ryka's feet.

Ryka tried to stifle her giggles at the Skitty's defeat. "How easily can you use your tail, to grip things?" Allegra's ears perked up. Easy! She first stood on her front paws, lifting the back of her body up into the air. Pushing off the ground sent her flying in midair, easily pulling off somewhat of a flip before landing on her tail. She held out her four paws in a "tadaaaa!" pose while balancing on her tail, before falling over. It might not have been the most graceful, but it made Ryka break out into applause. For such a delicate creature, she had incredible tail strength!

"Hold back? I wouldn't dream of it," Kasiya retorted, quickly remembering that Keegan liked to try and get her riled up so that she'd make mistakes. It had worked in the past, but it wouldn't work now. Both she and Levi flinched slightly as the sharp hailstones began to rain down on them, and they peered across the battlefield at their foes. Keegan hadn't even tried to have Shiva dodge the Mud Bomb, so Kasiya realized right away that Shiva's mobility was a problem. In the back of her mind, she wondered what a battle in water would be like between these two, but she quickly focused back on the present as she once again pointed forward. "Let's try Mud Shot this time," she said firmly.

Levi nodded, doing her best to ignore the stinging sensations she was feeling as she was continually pelted by hail, and she thrust her upper body forward as a thick stream of mud was spewed forth from her mouth. Kasiya frowned slightly as she realized Levi's most useful attacks against Shiva were all of the muddy variety.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 8:43 pm

Keegan knew that mentioning 'holding back' at any time during a battle would almost always set Kasiya off, and though he hadn't meant to do so this time, it had just kinda slipped out anyway. Old habits die hard, he thought, patting the pack of cigarettes in his pocket. The hail was pelting him too, but he didn't seem to mind it and he kept sweeping his hands through his hair to brush away the chunks of ice. "Damn," he muttered, watching the jet of mud fly towards Shiva. Again, there wasn't much he could do thanks to Shiva's limited mobility, as Kasiya had aptly figured out. He looked down at the ground and smiled, an idea suddenly popping to mind. "Shiva, it's time for a Surf attack," he announced loudly, knowing that it would be fairly strong against Levi thanks to her typing.

Shiva was busily shaking off another coat of mud, which had her feeling oddly slower and heavier because of it as well, and she clapped her fins eagerly as she slapped her tail down on the ground. A large wall of water rose up from behind her and she pointed a flipper at Levi (it had taken her a while to recognize the Mud Fish, as the last time Shiva had seen Levi, she'd been only a baby Mudkip), causing the wall of water to come crashing down with a thunderous roar. Some of the muck was washed from her body and she felt a bit of relief as her body continued to be slightly healed from the hail.

"Uh oh," Kasiya murmured, now taking a few steps back as the fearsome wave of water rose up in front of them. She couldn't think of any way to counter or defend against the oncoming Surf, so all she could do was tell Levi to brace herself. The Swampert firmly planted all four of her feet solidly on the ground as she crouched down, minimizing her resistance so that much of the water would rush over her. The pounding wave still hurt like hell though and she let out a roar as she rose up again, fins twitching in anger.

"Take Down attack!" Kasiya cried finally, having recalled some of the other non mud/water/ice moves in Leviathan's repertoire. The Swampert's hind feet dug into the ground as she launched herself forward with the reckless attack.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 9:33 pm

Keegan raised an eyebrow as he watched the Surf wreak its havoc on the other side of the field, and he glanced at Shiva, quite impressed by the power she was showing. Come on, girl, just a bit more, he thought, watching the hail continue to fall down on them. He brushed another lot of ice chunks from his hair and pulled his jacked a bit tighter around him, hoping this would work. "Now Shiva, use your Ice Beam to freeze the water on the ground," he called, even as the Swampert had come charging at the Sealeo like a freight train.

Shiva paid little attention to her ex-teammate and instead opened her mouth to fire a concentrated, frozen beam at the ground. The remaining water in the area quickly froze over, aided by the chilly air from the hailstorm, creating a sheet of slippery ice though it wasn't enough to slow Levi's charge. In fact, it had just the opposite effect as it helped to carry the larger Swampert into the smaller Sealeo. Shiva was thrown to the icy ground but she got up quite quickly, and as Keegan had hoped, she was able to slide around on the sheet of ice with ease. That ought to even things up a bit, he thought with a smile.

Deciding to just ask where the Royal Rock was Robin started to instead look for the cashier who seemed to have gone missing. Frowning Robin held Black*Stars hand as well as the fake TM as the two looked around. She didn't really seem to notice the crown on the Totodile's head much to the water starters disappointment. When the redhead couldn't find the shopkeeper in the store she waited for a moment debating if she should check the backroom or not. After a moment of hesitation she headed over to it and opened it slightly and peaked in. What she saw though caused her to immediately shut the door and her face to flush a little. After a second though she grinned and giggled slightly. Deciding not to interrupt them she figured as long as she paid for her stuff then she could leave. She would have to come back later for her Royal Rock.

"All right then Black*Star let's pay for your TM I guess." Robin muttered as she looked down at the Totodile. It was then that she realized that her pokemon was wearing the crown type object. Blinking a few times she reached down and delicately plucked the rock off of the now protesting Totodiles head. "Black*Star where did you find this?" Robin asked curiously as she inspected the rock. This had to be it! This had to be the Royal Rock thing! The tag said Kings Rock though? Maybe she had gotten the name mixed up? Well either way this had to be it! Grinning down at the Totodile who was behind the counter and opening a drawer full of them. "Great Job Black*Star, your the best." Robin grinned as she handed the crown back to Black*Star after checking the price tag that was.

Doing some not so quick math, Robin eventually came up with the price. "Oh man I hope I have enough for both, you deserve both after finding them for me." She figured Black*Star could wear the little crown until Slowpoke decided to evolve. Taking out her wallet she carefully counted out the money and breathed a sigh of relief when she realized she barely had enough. Slapping the money down on the counter she riffled through the real TM's until she found the one she was looking for. "All right!, we are all set Black*Star! Let's go use your TM outside. You can wear that Kings Rock until Slowpoke needs it, just don't break it ok?" The Totodile nodded as the two headed outside.

The trio walked in silence for a little while, Dante because he didn't have anything to say to the girl, Apollo because he was a pokemon, and the girl because she was probably to stupid to come up with an actual conversation topic. Unfortunately for Dante that stupidity didn't last to long.

"So are you going to challenge Fantina?" The blond girl asked with a smile on her face. She seemed to be trying her best to come up with a reason to stay with him.

Dante who only could guess that Fantina was probably the gym leader simply shrugged. "I wasn't planning on it."

Frowning slightly the girl cast him a somewhat sad look a bit upset by his deadpanned answer. "Oh, well, you could probably win. Your Rapidash is really strong looking."

"Hn." Was all Dante said as they walked through the towns entrance.

"Are you going to be in town long? There are a lot of things you can do in Hearthome." For some reason this girl was not getting the message that Dante didn't really care about what she was talking about.

"No. I am just passing through." Came Dante's short and to the point reply.

"Oh," The girl seemed to be somewhat upset again but she brightened up. "So where are you going? You seem to be in a bit of a hurry."

Not even looking up from whatever he was fiddling with on his pokenavi Dante just kept on walking Apollo trotting along next to him. The fire horse was somewhat embarrassed by his trainers rude behavior. This was no way to treat someone who was just trying to be nice. "I am heading to Veilstone. I need to see if they have certain items I need." Was all Dante supplied.

Okay wow, that was really clever, Kasiya thought as she watched the suddenly-agile Sealeo gliding around on the ice. Levi wasn't so lucky though, as her large feet were far from graceful and she slipped and slid around before eventually falling flat on her stomach. "Now what?" Kasiya grumbled, looking down at the icy ground. It had stopped just short of her feet, which she was grateful for as she didn't need to be falling flat on her butt either. "Let's muck up the place! Muddy Water!" she called finally. Sure it was a Water-type attack, but there was a good chance the filthy water would lower Shiva's accuracy and make it harder for her to attack back. Levi slowly got to her feet and pounded a fist against her chest. Her fins quivered as a large wall of water, much like Shiva's Surf, rose up from behind her. The only difference was that this water was a rather gross brown colour, and smelled strongly of swamp water as it crashed down around them with another deafening roar.

"Hang in there, Turtwig," Jake called out, a little more worried for the Grass-type than for the Normal-type. "Try to keep your distance from her, use Razor Leaf." Turtwig gave a nod and jumped up, the leaves on his head glowing a bright green before a flurry of similarly-coloured leaves raced toward Bidoof. The Plump Mouse Pokemon was in the process of attempting another Rollout attack so she didn't see this one coming, and she let out a cry as the dozens of leaves cut at her furry body.

Both Pokemon were looking tired, though Jake reasoned it was because they were still both fairly young and inexperienced. He stopped himself there, as he wasn't sure how he knew that, and when he closed his eyes, the image of a small, blue and turtle-like Pokemon appeared in his mind. The adorable little guy was grinning and waving at him and Jake felt a surge of familiarity course through him. Somehow he knew the little turtle, but couldn't place how or when. A sickly feeling of homesickness washed over him next, though he quickly managed to push it away as it really was quite ridiculous. How could he feel homesick if he didn't even know where home was?

Turtwig had noticed the pause in his trainer's movements and commands, and quickly recognized the pain on the boy's face. He raced over, skidding to a stop in front of Jake and looked up at him imploringly. Bidoof made her way over as well, though she didn't know what was wrong. Turtwig quickly filled her in on the details of their trainer's forgotten past and she frowned, feeling a bit bad for the boy though she didn't know how she could help.

"Muddy Water?" Keegan repeated, wondering if the attack was as gross as it sounded. It certainly looked that way, as a wall of water (though it looked more like mud than water to the redhead) was suddenly crashing down on the poor Sealeo, who had nowhere to go despite her new-found freedom of mobility. She closed her eyes and winced as the water washed over her, cringing not because it really hurt all that much, but because the water was warm and reeked of muck and other gross things Shiva couldn't quite name. It also managed to get in her nose and eyes, blurring her vision. When she looked up in the Swampert's direction, all she could see was a fuzzy blue blob, and she growled, deciding then and there that she wasn't about to let that overgrown Mudkip get the best of her. She slammed her tail against the ice and it cracked from the impact, though it was impossible to see through the blinding white light that had suddenly encompassed the Sealeo.

"Haha, all right! I knew it!" Keegan laughed, pumping a fist into the air as Shiva's evolution took place. Her body grew significantly larger, and long, dangerous-looking tusks were now her main facial features. Before the light could dim completely she was already sliding across the ice, her tusks glowing with an icy hue. "Ice Fang?" Keegan murmured to himself, wishing he'd thought to bring his PokeDex with him as he watched the newly-evolved Walrein attack her former teammate.

“Roserade!” Gardenia’s voice called out confidently, “Use another Weather Ball!” The leader looked fearlessly, onto the wave of fire that was essentially raining down onto her beautiful, lush, green field. Roserade nodded, charging up and gathering wind from the area to form a wispy ball of concentrated air. She threw the ball straight into the mouth of the fire, letting the ball slice though the flames creating a clear and clean path for the Bouquet Pokemon. The orange and red flames crashed onto either side of her, forming a neat little V shape. The fire cascaded downing on the field beneath them, setting the grass on fire. They would have to be careful not to set the whole forest on fire.

Suki tensed up, clutching her Pokeball tightly, ready to release her Lombre should the need arise. Gym battle or not, she didn’t want the whole gym to go down in flames. The field itself was rather large though, and hopefully large enough to contain any fires that could potentially be started by the fire money.

“Nice job Roserade!” Gardenia cheered, smiling enthusiastically at her Pokemon. The plant took a few hops backwards upon unleashing the Weather Ball. The fire had no burnt her, having been deflected on either side of her. She stood attentive and ready to react should the Monferno dodge the attack, though seeing as he was falling through the air, it would be rather hard.

(( I think Suki was her name I am too lazy to check. And I am so sorry Tessie and Melph, I know you are waiting for this Gym battle to finish. ))

Both Kasiya and Leviathan could only watch with wide eyes as the Sealeo suddenly evolved right in front of them. Kasiya quickly took her PokeDex out of her hip bag and pointed it at the funny walrus/seal thing. Walrein, the Ice Break Pokemon, she read, glancing up at Shiva for a second. It easily shatters ice with its large, powerful tusks, and its thick layer of blubber not only protects it from extreme cold, but it helps to repel enemy attacks as well. She closed the device and put it away, grinning over at Keegan. "You knew Shiva was ready to evolve, that was your theory," she said, not at all unhappy with the turn of events. If anything, it only added to her resolve that Keegan was indeed a great trainer.

Before she could even get another thought out, however, Shiva was sliding across the ice, her tusks glowing with an icy light. "Levi, dodge!" she called, but the bulky Swampert couldn't do much more than slip and slide on the spot, and she roared in pain as the frigid bite cut into her side. "Fight back with a Mud Bomb!" she called, knowing it would be hard for Shiva to dodge this, even now. The Swampert reared back and loosed another ball of mud at the Walrein. She was starting to feel quite tired, but she did her best not to show it.

Jake had decided to head back into the Pokemon Center to get Turtwig and Bidoof a round of healing. He was quite impressed by both Pokemon's progress, though he still wasn't quite sure if they were ready for a match against a gym leader. He recalled both Pokemon as they reentered the door at the back of the center and looked around, glad to see that the place was still fairly empty. He placed both spheres on the desk and waited patiently for the nurse to notice him. "Back already?" she asked, taking both Pokeballs and placing them in the machine. "How'd the training go?"

"Pretty well," Jake answered. "I'm not being a nuisance, am I?" he added after a moment or two of silence.

"A nuisance? Of course not, why do you ask?" the nurse inquired, turning to look at Jake after she had initiated the healing sequence.

"Well, I was only here for healing a little while ago," the blonde-haired boy asked, watching the machine intently. "And I'm back again already."

The nurse gave a kind smile. "That's what I'm here for," she assured the boy. "I'm always quite happy to take care of Pokemon. Speaking of which, yours are fully rejuvenated." She continued to smile as she handed both Pokeballs back to Jake. "Feel free to come back at any time," she added as Jake thanked her and headed back out to the field to continue his training.
