Irame wanted to say Dante, just because he was the one that she was most used to and the one that probably would be least surprised or disturbed by her abilities, but then she thought of Lina. She sighed and looked over at the woman. She didn’t want to tell people that Lina was pregnant, as Lina obviously didn’t want others knowing, but she could, at the very least be with her. Plus Lina wouldn’t be much help if all she was really thinking about was the fact that she was having pains or about cramming pocky into her mouth.
“Excuse me, Lina?” Irame said looking up at the woman and feeling somewhat self conscious, she always did when meeting anyone new, including students. She tried, like always, to cover it up. “I was wondering if it would be alright for me to go with you.”

So groups then? Well Kenth was in charge, Greg supposed. He looked around the room, trying to remember if anyone other than Herei and Kenth could speak Chinese. (Better than the 3 words that he could speak that shouldn’t be said around children anyway) Could Dante? He defiantly wouldn’t put it past the Elf to be able to speak the language, but he wasn’t completely sure… He looked over at Alex, who he was defiantly going to be paying attention to now that he knew that was her.
He supposed that he should go and ask the two of them nicely… OR he could yell…
Well which one to ask first? He supposed the one that would answer short quick, and wouldn’t bother trying to be nice to him in any way.
“Hey Dante,” He said, smiling “do you know Chinese?” He asked. He hadn’t come right out and asked Dante if they were to go together, but he assumed that it was implied and the Elf would give him an answer…

Out of the corner of his eye, Elijah caught the gesture and turned to face RuiZhi. The offer was simple, but kind and the youthful boy grinned to show just how much he appreciated it. "I don't mind at all. I think that would be great. I thank you for allowing me to come along with you," he said with a friendly tone, truly glad for the acceptance. Inwardly he admired RuiZhi's mature personality and wondered what had brought it on. Perhaps this was the best time to make a new friend, even in this dangerous and intense time.

RuiZhi smiled grandly. "Thank you for coming at all." He knew that times like these were when the real friends were made, the ones that would stick with you through the worst. Who knew what would come of all this, assuming they survived? He'd make the most of it as he could, choosing to keep his optimistic point of view in place. He ducked his head a little, smiling as though he was going to share a secret with Elijah, murmuring, "I have a bad habit of getting quiet when I think. So, feel free to poke me or punch me in the shoulder to snap out of it." While the boy didn't really want to be punched, he was trying to lighten the mood, and build the first foundations of trust between himself and the new students.
Alex opened her eyes slowly, staring at the ceiling. She could hear the conversations taking place, noting that the voice that had called attention to all the gathered had fallen unusually silent. Her gaze leveled upon the doctor, who for all the world looked as though he'd rather flee out the gates than choose someone to have to actually cooperate with. She had a moment of being sullen, for she had told herself she'd stay out of way; however, she knew the man decently from their previous encounter, and could only imagine how much the others would enjoy his bright personality. Oh sure, she chided herself as she pushed off of the door, starting to approach the group, make it seem like you're doing the rest of them a favor. Real smooth.
She tried to justify it as making sure he didn't really go off on his own. Whatever her reasons, she was standing behind him, crossing her arms uncomfortably as her mind was made. "I already said you're stuck with me, Doctor Kenth. Don't want you doing anything...imprudent." Alex cracked a knowing smile, eyes moving over the gathered. The rest of the group would have to be in his hands; goodness knows he'd already view her as a handful, and not in a good way.

Upon hearing the other's words, he was immensely relieved, smiling up at the other with something not all that shy of sheer joy. "I'm rather glad you did too right about now." Farlest knew that regardless...they wouldn't be alone here, but it would be easier with a friend.
Now...he supposed it was up to the teachers, as it seemed that the students had to some extent paired themselves off. "I wonder what exactly the teams are for." The slight boy wrinkled his nose, watching the people around him and leaning subtly against Ka'hmesh.
He could make guesses as to where they were going, but there was really nothing conclusive to be known. Things were only likely to get more dangerous from here on out...
Hmm...green eyes flicked to Dante, and he wondered which team the elf would pick...frankly the professor fascinated Farlest, a strange draw that he couldn't quite explain. Something about the first time he'd seen him perhaps. It was almost hero worship coupled with respect.

Kenth snorted at Alex's words. "Hmph, do whatever you want. I could care less about the groups or their organization, be it magic or science, be it Chinese or foreign...the sooner they settle down the sooner we go."
In actuality Kenth was getting impatient with all the people choosing groups. He wondered if it would be a good idea to just assign groups to everyone. Kenth glanced over at Herei and sighed. That man was certainly having fun with the group picking.
"Are you going to take your two brothers?" Kenth muttered to Alex. He didn't know much about RuiZhi, but Weiyuan was with him on the last trip...he was perhaps the student that he was most comfortable with.

Lina blinked, looked over at the woman whose head was bowed a bit and whose eyes seemed cast to the side. She found it oddly--cute? That such an old, arcane being could be so shy and self-conscious.
It was a humble move, and Lina found it very endearing. So she smiled.
"I would be honored, Miss Irame."
Dante, meanwhile, simply stood where he was, waiting for students to come to him.
As a teacher--and something of a mentor back in Iliodean--he'd found that choosing any student over another often led to very bad results. ....Veryveryvery bad results. He didn't want that here at all.
So he simply waited for students to come to him. That was the only way he could surmise as fair.

The woman couldn't help but smile; that was the Kenth she knew, impatient and to the point. Alex shook her head a bit, remembering what Herei and Dante had said. "They're both following you, Doctor Kenth, science students. That, and they're two of the 'four or five' that speak Chinese." Of course, she had a significantly better handle on the language than her first visit, but she wasn't too keen on being seperated from certain people.
She glanced over at Weiyuan, then to Kenth. "I thought forcing myself on you would be enough, and that you could choose whom else to bother you." Alex chuckled quietly, arms still crossed, somewhat amused. He always had to be on the move, and that was a pace she'd prefer.
Herei watched the proceedings with a smile, but he was not amused. To say he liked that it was taking so long to form a group due to a lack of formal introductions would certainly be a lie. He could also sense the ever pleasant Kenth losing his patience, and he wanted to keep the problems outside, not in. If the teachers couldn't decide, he'd pair them himself, to the best of their compatability.
"Professors Araquenosse and Larine, please take Weiyuan and Rylenn. Sir," he looked at Sable, "if you would go with them as well." Weiyuan knew his way around, and Dante would keep Rylenn peaceful; the young boy looked scared to death. "Professor Irame and Lina, I will accompany you; RuiZhi and Elijah will come with us." He probably had to watch those two the least, as they seemed to be very adaptable. "Doctor Kenth and Alex, would you take Farlest and Ka'hmesh?" He looked over to the boys in the back, who had kept mostly silent throughout the exchange. Their silence - or at least, their comfort with each other - would probably annoy the good doctor the least out of the gathered.
He felt a little bad for not pairing Weiyuan or RuiZhi with the doctor, but now was not the time to play favorites. "You, Sir," he remarked to Audun, "if you could stay with the doctor and the lady. I'd like to be on our way."
Alex quirked a brow as Herei suddenly took charge, dividing the meandering group quickly and effectively. She liked him already. "There you have it," she smiled at Kenth.

Farlest blinked as the Chinese teacher suddenly brought efficiency and command to the entire operation. He hadn't expected things to go by quite that quickly, but he'd caught the gist of it.
If Herei was trying to pair someone quiet with Dr. Kenth, he was soon going to realize that Farlest was maybe not the best choice for such a thing, for once he had obtained any level of comfortability, he could talk for what often seemed like forever. With Ka that was all right, as the other was quiet and didn't mind, but it might be a different story with the adults.
It had to be Dr. Kenth didn't it?
Farlest heaved a sigh and glanced up at Ka. This was very likely to be an odd trip...in addition to all the other adjectives he could probably pile before that word.
Now they'd just have to see if Herei's assigning method stuck. Fingers gently brushing the back of the taller boy's hand, Farlest moved forward a bit, indicating that they should probably move closer.

"Well, if that was the case why did---" Kenth's words were cut off when the ever so optimistic Herei started arranging everyone into groups. He felt as if someone slapped him on the cheeks, as the advisor took control again, coinciding with his own thoughts. What was wrong? He was the leader, not Herei! Why couldn't he do things as quickly as the advisor, was he really not as inteliigent as the man?
To surpress his anger, Kenth coughed and rubbed his temples. "I suppose it's resolved now." He didn't look up at Alex, but instead looked at the two unfamiliar studnets that he was paired with...and the stranger adult.
So their names were Farlest and Ka...Kenth frowned. They must have been one of the newer students. Why were they allowed to come here in the first place? Kenth could bet that they didn't even have their own badges yet.
"Should we pay them a formal introduction?" Kenth asked no one in particular, but with Alex beside him, it was only reasonable that he was talking to her.

Alex watched the doctor with curiosity. Now this was strange, a side of him that seemed almost shy, or at least, uncertain. It was very unlike him. She leaned over and nudged him gently with her shoulder, murmuring, "If you want. I think everyone knows who you are. If they don't, they've been under a rock." She gave him as reassuring a smile as she could before moving forward to wave to the two boys assigned to them. She almost entertained the idea of foster children, until her eyes caught one of them.
The Italian froze for a heartbeat, gaze on Farlest. She was smiling, but there was something shocked and a little off in her eyes, but it was quickly dismissed, only a ghost of the strange expression remaining. "Farlest and Ka'hmesh, I'm assuming? I hope I said that right." Alex crinkled her nose playfully, grinning at the two warmly.

“Thank you, heru Lina, and please, I beg of you, do not call me miss.” She said with a relived smile. She would have disliked having to raise something to watch over the woman this early on.
“Of course, heru Herei.” Irame said as she looked over at the man. She didn’t know if he heard her, but where she came from you normally responded to someone who was making a formal declaration such as what he had done, even if it was just a nod. It was considered polite.
She looked over at the students, seeing the ones that were supposed to stick with the three of them. “RuiZhui? Elijha? Could you two come over here?” She asked unsure of what else to really do. She would have called her sons over if she had wanted them and, granted these children were older, she thought that it would be about the same. At least she hoped.

Greg bighted as Herei put them all into groups. Well he brightened a little anyway. Dante had been ignoring him anyway, which had been good and bad because at least nothing bad had been happening, but now he had a viable excuse.
“Well Dante it looks like you get to go with me anyway, hu?” He said nudging the man a little. “Isn’t that great? I didn’t even had to talk to Herei to get him to say that.”

Lina blinked, nodding and casting her eyes about the room as everyone hurried into their groups. And Professor Kenth...she frowned a bit at his result, almost--no, no, watch your temper, Lina. She shut her eyes, then blinked them open again to rid herself of the enroaching frustration gathering at the back of her eyes. She'd be fine.
Just fine.
Dante seethed. "Professor, Herei, if we could perhaps go tog--" But the man had paired them off, things were NOT looking good. Dante felt the twitch in his eye coming back.
"Don't touch me," Dante seethed, not even looking at Greg. Instead he stood stiff as a board, eyes trained on his fellow worker and his tormenter now, awaiting further instruction.

Ka blinked as well when they were rather suddenly paired off with a teacher-group and glanced to Farlest, then back up again. He let the other boy tug him closer, returning that light touch with a bit of a squeeze.
Ka didn't mind physical contact at all, and it wasn't hard to sense that Far almost needed it somehow. And ... well ... he'd come along becuase of Farlest, so no reason he should deny the other something that made him happy and could comfort him. He didn't know either of the adults they'd been paired with and he was pretty sure Far didn't either.
Oooh, this was just bound to be interesting, mmhmm ...

"This isn't going to take long," Herei smiled at Dante. "We simply need to do a quick sweep of the area, to see what we're up against, and to make sure we wont be putting ourselves into any more immediate danger than necessary." The man couldn't help but notice that Irame and Lina seemed to be the only two who were okay with their premade group. As far as he was concerned, if they didn't like their groups, they should have gathered with the people they preferred rather than waiting and wasting time. The groups as they were allowed for at least one observant individual and one capable of fight; the students were paired by familiarity so that they would not worry so much about introductions. In his mind, it had been a tactical decision, and the best one at that. They could not afford to play to sentimentality.
"Once we've been designated our meeting place by Doctor Kenth, you will bring forth any issues to him. If there are no further concerns, we should be on our way before too much daylight escapes us." Herei looked to Kenth and gave him a single nod; no matter what the Advisor did, it was ultimately Kenth who would lead them. He was fine by that.
