Feng giggled most would be freaking out and she liked it that Serenity didn't mind overly that much.

"Hi hi.... I'm Feng, but you know that already, but I didn't get your name."

Whether or not Feng knew that her little niece was named after Serenity was unknown, maybe she knew and just didn't want to mention it.

"Feng," Ryu sighed, "You are going to fall if you keep that up."

Tails were of course slippery things so he was kind of worried.

Serenity laughed softly. "I'm sorry," she smiled down at the young mermaid. "My name is Serenity ... Serenity Aldrich."

She patted the top of Feng's head a bit and tried to peer down into the depths of the fountain. "So down there is where you live?" she asked curiously. "Is it terribly comfortable?"

She was also wondering if she might be able to go see it, but she didn't want to intrude in the twins' personal space.

Elnara smiled as she watched her sister and her mother interacting. Somehow, she had known they would get along splendidly. Then again, Feng was so friendly, it would be difficult for anyone not to get along with her.

She squeezed Lore's hand and looked up at him. "Well?" she said softly, so that only he would be able to hear. "Can you stay for a while yet, or do you have to leave?"

She knew it was late, but she didn't know how late he was comfortable with being out ... after all, the inn was quite a bit further from his apartment than the cafe was.

"I can stay a bit longer, though I wouldn't really want to travel back afterwards," he murmured.

He didn't use a taxi, he didn't like cars so why would he, but it would mean that if he stayed any longer he would have to stay here. Not that it was a bad thing, he just didn't want to be a bother.

"Oh very," Feng nodded, "There's some nice things down there just for me and Ryu to sleep on and there's a tunnel to another underground room below. There's a spring that isn't hot anymore so the place where it is, is our room where we keep things that shouldn't go into the water. Even though we stay at the school most of the time. If you dont' mind the cold."

"Well," Ryu added listening to his sister, "People say it's cold, but we don't notice. I think we're immune cold."

Which was probably true seeing as they were nearly completely naked, or naked in Ryu's case if you really really thought about.

Elnara nodded. "If you don't mind a long walk to work in the morning, you could stay here," she suggested. "It is an inn, after all."

She grinned. "Come on, we can ask Kara right now if you want."

Then she paused. "Did you bring any overnight stuff with you?"

Serenity smiled faintly. "We elves are fairly immune to the cold as well," she told Feng and Ryu. She nodded towards the water. "It sounds like you have a lovely home in there ... do you like it very much?"

It reminded her of when she was very little, before she had been blind - searching for hiding places to call her little hidden room whenever she could.

"I don't mind.... if no one else minds..." Lore replied slowly, hoping that it would be alright.

He paused for a minute to think about Elnara's question.

"A few things yes, just in case... the cafe," he murmured.

He had gotten use to it.

"Yes, there are a lot more places to keep our things than in a natural river, though nautral rivers are fun too," Feng thought about it for a moment, "But this one is good, and I had hide behind the waterfall... if a huddled."

Since Feng was getting far to big now to actually hide behind it these days.

Elnara laughed softly. "Why would anyone mind?" she asked curiously, amused by the idea. "All I can say is, watch out for Raven ... he's a shoulder demon who apparently likes trying to get people to do things they shouldn't. I've only met him once, and he didn't seem that bad to me ... but ..." She shrugged.

She started leading him out of the room again and towards the stairs (yet again). "Come on," she murmured. "Let's find Kara and see about getting you a room."

Serenity's smile widened. "It sounds wonderful," she laughed softly. "Every child's dream ..."

Now she was seriously debating asking if she might see it. It really did sounds like fun. She had never heard of an underwater room - but then, there were no mers in the Four Lands.

Lore wondered what Elnara knew about stereotypical shoulder demons because that's what the guy sounded like. He followed her out of the room to find Kara with Elnara.

"Is it?" Feng asked she was comfortable where she was, she couldn't imagine having anything less, but then again she couldn't imagine having anything more.

Like the family compounds were creepy to go through for example.

Elnara was thoughtful as she mounted the stairs. Though she had been living at the inn for a very long time now - months - she had never checked anyone in for the night. For that matter, she couldn't even remember if there had been any overnight guests since she had come to live here. She had served in the bar, yes ...

Though she suspected she might have still checked with Kara first before checking Lore into the inn, even if she had gone through the process before. Simply on the point that he was courting her and really it wasn't proper for them to sleep in the same building.

She nearly laughed. He had been sleeping at the cafe off and on for a while already - why was she thinking about this now?

Serenity nodded slowly. The more she thought about it, the more certain she was - she would have loved something like this when she was younger.

"Would it be possible for me to see it?" she asked hesitantly. "I don't want to intrude ... but it sounds rather intriguing."
