Shinzu continued griining crazily and said with a very excited voice "We Finally got a new mission! Something about catching a weapons thief." He was praticaly short of jumping with excitement at the chance of going on another mission, especially since it had been so long since the last one.

~ enter Rugen ~
Rugen ran as fast as his legs would carry him, glancing down at the piece of paper in his hand from time to time, then rapidly shooting his eyes up again to watch where his legs were leading him. Back at the academe, he had failed to notice the second letter attached to the hawks claw at first glace. Luckily, it caught up to him while he was on his way to the meeting place in order to correct the mistake. The letter had turned out to be mission details concerning the next mission that he had been assigned. It was different this time though. Not only had he been given a full squad line-up, but it was also a C ranked mission, the likes of which Rugen had never ventured into before. " C ranked... This is gonna be a whole new level of tough. " he thought.
Upon reaching his destination, Rugen tucked the notice into his jacket pocket and slowed from his hastened run into a light and casual walk. He spotted a bench, located in the middle of a small plaza, that seemed to have a pretty good view of the surrounding area. Rugen approached the bench and took a seat, looked around at the crowd of people that was made up of the good people of Kirigakure. He grew anxious to meet his new comrades, but he kept his cool and remained little more than a face in the crowd as he awaited the arrival of his fellow squad mates.

Time went by and Rugen grew consistently more agitated. " Oh great, I finally get a mission and I'm the only one that shows up on time! " He said to himself. The city was now in full flow, as ships could be seen in the distance, pulling into the harbor.
No one seemed to mind the young shinobi as he sat in the middle of their tiny village. Clouds began to roll in, though they did not appear to bring any rain along with them. Rugen took out the slip of paper once more, glancing it over and reading the few details that it seemed to offer to explain exactly what the situation of his mission was.
Rugen proceeded to stuff the mission card back into his pocket, and then he pulled out the book that he had checked out of the library. He sat it on his leg for a moment, looking around anxiously. What could possibly be taking them so long? he thought, leaning back against the arched back of the bench. It seemed to be reasonably comfortable for book reading, considering it was made of wood.
Rugen picked up his book and turned to the page in which he had left off in the academy. Genjutsu is a subtle and some say the most dangerous shinobi art. It takes a great amount of skill to use genjutsu; however, it doesn't take much chakra at all. " So if I learn a genjutsu technique, I could use it to stall my enemy long enough for my other squad members to unleash a Ninjutsu, or possibly go in to strike with Taijutsu. It would be good to have if I start running low on chakra too."
Taking a moment to flip through the back of the book, he noticed that some of the more common genjutsu were listed out in great detail. Before reading any further, Rugen looked around one more, checking to see if anyone who could possibly be one of his squad mates had arrived. Seconds later he was looking at the book again.

Rugen took a minute and returned to the front of the book, looking at the table of contents. The book was organized much like a classroom text book, containing chapters covering such topics as: basic genjutsu, creating your own style , and combating against illusionary techniques. " That's just what I was needed to find! " Rugen said, happy to know that this book actually had the information he'd been searching for all day.
Flipping through about half the book, taking a moment here or there to view a page that looked interesting before scanning it over and proceeding to turn the page. Page 229, Combating Genjutsu. He read to himself. To combat the effects of genjutsu, there are several options. The first option is for the ninja to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra; this is called Genjutsu Release. (Genjutsu Kai)
" Well that's good to know. Looks like all I need to do it learn this Genjutsu release, and I should be ok for the time being. " he said, finally speaking aloud. He read on through the end of the paragraph: This can also be done by an unaffected ninja by applying a sudden surge of chakra into the affected person. " I should try and store all of this information in my long term memory. It'll be worthless to me in a fight if I just go and forget it all. "
Rugen looked on to the next page and began reading once again. The title read The second option. Rugen scanned over the next few pages before going back to read the second option. He was surprised to find that much of the next few pages had been almost completely blacked out, with only the titles sparred from the overflow of black ink. However, the information displayed seemed to answer most of his questions, so it didn't bother him as much.
Sitting cross legged now, Rugen went back to the section titled The second option and began to read. The second option is through intense pain not caused by the genjutsu and utilizing the resulting pain to bring their senses back in order (of the first two options, the latter seems more effective in most situations, or at least is the easiest). " So if all else fails, wounding myself could be my last resort. "

(no more OOC in here guys.)
After a while, Rugen sat his book to the side. He had been waiting quite a long time, or at least it seemed like it. He stood up and walked to one of the small shops near-by and peaked threw the glass window. There was a clock on the wall made of some sort of fine wood. He guessed that it was hickory, or many maple. However, once he saw what time it was, it no longer mattered.
" It's been over an hour! " he exclaimed, turning around to return to his seat. He picked up his book and tucked it into his pocket. Since the rest of the team had failed to show up, Rugen decided that now was as good a time as any to return to his home to gather some supplies. He jumped up to the roof tops in a couple of strides, and was well on his way home within seconds.
Approaching his house, he slowed down so that he wouldn't appear foolish for dashing through the city streets. He eventually dropped down to the road below and walked quickly into his home. The house was designed similarly to that of the hyugga's home, only less fancy.
He quickly entered his room and emptied his pocket contents onto his bed. It was then that he picked up the book once more, and quickly finished reading the chapter. It basically summed up each of the ways that one can escape a genjutsu with a single list:
1) Stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the casters chakra. 2) Have an outside ninja unaffected by the Genjutsu make body contact, and use their chakra to disrupt the casters flow. 3) Cause harm to yourself within the Genjutsu in order to increase your ability to escape.
After he finished reading, Rugen pulled out a black knapsack from his closet and put the book inside. He gathered all of his ninja tools and also placed them inside the bag, then zipped it up for good measure. Rugen took one last look around his room to make sure that he didn't forget anything, and then he was out the door once more.

Returning to the bench that he had left half an hour earlier, Rugen took a few moments to look over everyone in the crowd again. Still no sign of anyone who appeared to be a shinobi. He sat down in disappointment and took the book from his backpack once more. Flipping through the pages again, he went to the next section.
The most basic Genjutsu that is widely used at this time is Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique) read the book. He continued to read the details of the jutsu, and as he read, the danger lurking behind Genjutsu suddenly became very apparent to him. If this was the most basic Genjutsu widely used, then he wouldn't stand a chance against any of the more developed techniques. Not without Kia.
Flipping over to the next page, it listed out several more genjutsu and there affects. " Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu.. Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu.. Jubaku Satsu.. " he said, skimming over their affects, each respectively. " How can one shinobi be prepared to deal with all of this? On top of already having Taijutsu and Ninjutsu to worry about. "
The chapter only covered more of the widely known Genjutsu, so Rugen decided that it was time to review what he had learned so far. " So, Genjutsu are the same as Ninjutsu, as they require Chakra and hand signs. But unlike Ninjutsu, Genjutsu only affects the mind. By affecting the chakra network, it is able to distort the five senses and cause physical and mental pain. "
" People who use Genjutsu are both intelligent and are experts in Chakra control, and in turn, manipulation. Because our brains are so complex, mammals are vulnerable to Genjutsu, but simpler beings such as insects remain unaffected. Because it's so effective and renders the opponent useless while under the spell of a Genjutsu technique, some people claim that they are even more dangerous and deadly then Ninjutsu. "

Rugen finished summing up what he had learned very quickly. " And the only way that you can escape is if you can break your own chakra network, and then overpower you opponent, unless you harm yourself or a friend breaks you free. Well, I think that about does it. " he said, tucking the book away in his knapsack. Deciding that he didn't want the extra weight of a text book to be dragged around with him, he decided to return to the academe and drop it off before he would begin searching the city for his squad. He did so with with record timing, and now found himself standing atop a roof, near the center of town, gazing over the city in the hopes that he would find his squad before they found him.

Gin walked into the scene with the bird in his hand squirming to fly away. He sighed as he applied for by squeezing his hand tightly on the bird hurting the bird. It wasn't that strong considering he wasn't one for strength but it hurt the bird, it was as easy as opening a door really. The bird was easy to catch, after a long run it had just suddenly stopped here and he grabbed it and that's how he got to this position. "The damn bird was pecking me." Gin mumbled as he looked up to the grouping of people and tossed the bird away as it flew off. It's mission was accomplished, it got all of the people to the location, although it had a slight limp in it's step for the next acouple days. That's what it got for pecking him, but what was the reason.

Shinzu said to the gathered group as he began to lead them to the designated location, which surprisingly enough was not very far away. 'Hmm that's kind of odd, she must've gotten the orders just after I left. Dang shoulde've just stayed there.' Shinzu thoght as they walked through the village.
