I prefer woodwinds. whee Partly because I play flute, but also because I enjoy the tone of woodwind instruments more. ^^ Brass is okay as well, but I don't like the sound unless it's played by someone EXCELLENT... gonk

use to not care about this thing but now I do :3
Woodwinds, for one reason because I play clarinet (and i don't care if it's common! scream )
Anyways, what I notice as I listen to orchestra music and even concert band music, you can really hear the brass more then the woodwinds, the woodwinds seem to only be heard in quick passages or soloist, not with the rest of the band, it's because the brass is too loud (Die trumpet ::twitch:: ) you just can't really hear us woodwinds at times, which makes me depressed crying
Once, I was at a forum and someone said, 'everyone is always playing woodwind instruments!' well that reason is because brass is louder then woodwinds, thats at least my opinion (okay our band only performed with the brass twice last year in sixth grade gonk and no it was not a horrible performance >.>) so woodwinds need more players to be heard.
besides brass people are annoying :3 well trumpet players mainly. ( sweatdrop okay ALOT of trumpet players annoy me i'm sorry x_x!!!!)

Thats why brass is better then wood winds but wood winds most always have the girls in it.

brass is better, their more fun to hang around with, have the most troubles and does the less stuff, and then here i am, a woodwind supporting brass hard core cuz i want to play tuba

Woodwinds. Except for piccolos...TOO HIGH!!! Why must they have an instrument that plays like an octave above flute, but uses lower notes? Grrr it confuses me...and why can't I play it!! Our section leader hates piccolos too. (And I bow down to her ever since I learned this) Everyone hates them, well almost...But...I like the brass, I do...they just overplay and cover us up!! It's not fair! And no one ever hears the flutes anyway. It's just not fair...Flutes rock!! Trumpets rock!! Timpani rocks!! (Sorry...My favorite instrument is the timpani...PM me to find out why...lol)

Duh, that isn't hard to figure out. Brass is loud and edgy, I love the warm color of the woodwind sound.
