((anyone mind if Koho joins Kiyowe and maybe accompany her into the squabble, and should I have Koho recognize Kiyowe since she is her foster mother?

Edit: Actually if mufasa could show up I would much like to have koho show that she is still alive and wishing to protect the young ones of the pride still if an audience with the king would be possible *nods*))

Dama continued to snarl softly, still not recognising the lioness for what she was. She didn't back down, nor did she stop glaring at the newcomer, despite the fact that Kitwana rudely stepped in front of her. Standing over the cub as best as her small body could, it was as if she was protecting it, despite the fact that she couldn't protect herself. However, she listened closely to the exchange between the strange violet eyed lioness and the one she'd come to consider her family, the only family she had. How strange it was to hear Kitwana saying such things, and to a stranger, as if he knew her... The gray juvenile glanced upon Kitwana's ragged brown pelt questioningly. What was the connection between these two? Why address her so politely when she defended one who constantly looked for ways to have them beat for the littlest things?

When Dama herself was addressed, she blinked a few times. Leaving the cub where it lay, she padded forward, her head down, ears pricked forward in curiosity. "Who are you?" The look upon the gray lioness's face was one of pure confusion. If this one didn't belong to any of the prides, then who was she and where did she come from? "What...do you mean, child of the Mists?" It never dawned on Dama that maybe this stranger could hold the key that held long since memories locked down deep inside. It never occured to Dama that maybe this lioness knew who she was, or who she belonged to.... All that came to Dama's mind was complete confusion. "I think you have me mixed up with someone else. And if you know of the Blood, then you know of their treatment of us. If you were so sorry for our...upbringing, as you call it, then maybe you should have done something about it." The child snorted and turned her back on the strange lioness. Weaving in her steps as she stormed back to the cub, Dama longed to be in the shelter already, curled up and drying off while waiting for the rains to stave off....

Slender young body of female wild dog swept over the savannah, her paws blurry as she stalked across the terra, her eyes alert for any creature except herself. She turned her head and watched the mouth-like openings of the lions dens. She could see a few shapes, but she persisted with her journey. She was looking for scraps, something the lions had left behind. Her occuli scanning the sandy ground she followed some hoof-like prints that were embedded into the dust. She let out a small groan of longing as she saw a deer carcass, obviously too much for the creature trying to eat it all, and the result had been that the carcass had been abondoned. She sniffed it curiously. It was resonably fresh. Eyes reflecting hunger and saliva dripping from each pointed ivory she crept to the deer and sank her teeth into the nape, the flavour and blood spilling onto her tongue as she chewed and ripped, her jaw working furiously. In her days with her family the had never went hungry, father was a superb hunter. She wondered if she had his hunting genes, but then again she wondered a lot about her parents.Where were they?

Zumaradi round a small stream and leaned over to get at the water. He gulped up the water and sighed as it cooled off his insides. After he got used to that sensation he dunked his head in the cool water. He knew it was kinda pointless but at least until the water dried.

'I'm hungry...but it is to hot to eat' he thought as he sat on the bank of the stream

((Koho can join Kiyowe if you want. She's kinda hiding right now, but she's gonna be discovered soon! As soon as I start writing. And yes, I suppose she should recognize Kiyowe. 3nodding

Kiyowe: I insist on being discovered! Find me! xp sweatdrop ))

There'd been plenty about cats, but no one ever said anything about curiousity killing the lion. And even if they did, Kiyowe wouldn't be one to listen to that advice. She wanted to know what they were talking about. Those strange lions that had appeared, and especially the one with the purple eyes. She tried to stretch her head closer, but the rain was too loud. She took a small step forward. Then another, and another. Most of her body was past the large rock now. She still couldn't hear them... One more step should do it. Too absorbed in trying to hear the other lions, Kiyowe didn't watch where she was going. She tripped over the edge of the rock and landed with a soft thud and a small squeak(Yes. She squeaked). A foot further than where she intended to be. She cursed herself inside for her carelessness and looked up. Oh no! Now they would definitely know she was there. Did... did they see her...?

Fumi was finally calming down, he had a glazed look to his eyes and seemed a lot more relaxed. Until a huge white creature nearly crushed him. He noticed just in time and took off into the air screeching with fright. He hide in the bush closest to the divine violet-eyed lion. It was the safest place for him to be. AGAIN! He fluffed up his feathers, this was a very bad day for him.

He poked his head from out of the bushes, expecting another creature to bring him death, but found none. In annoyance he stayed in the bush however, he didn't need anymore frights today.

Silently mulling the lioness' words for a moment, Kitwana's sneer turned icy, his gaze cold behind the polite facade. She does what she must? She apologises as if it were all her fault, then writes off the guilt with one sentence? The sufferings of slave after slave could be wiped away with a sentence? No. Forgiveness for anyone was out of the question. He would forgive none, care for none, need none. His freedom was all he needed, no other living beast would pierce that, his determination was set on this one. Disregarding the fact that he cared enough for the lives of others to regret their hardships as the mere weakness of his mind, a habit that could be broken, the lion repeated these thoughts to himself. He needed his freedom, and Mwezi's very presence threatened that. She was his former master, yet he was willing to keep her alive, and now this newcomer wanted him to treat her well? To forgive her?

Ignoring Dama's questions and the sounds of life now buzzing about, the adolescent, seething, stepped back from the still red femme.
"You ask too much. I will never forgive her or her family. They broke me, beat me, for pleasure. You are sorry? Then leave me to my solutions. I will not let her die, but I will not meet her commands. Do not apologise unless you care, and if you care, leave us to our misery, which you know nothing of."

:: The large jackal walked through the underbrush, his white and gold coat blending in very well. He even rocked around a lilttle. It looks like he was the grass. The wind blew in the heavy rain as he got closer to a very large herd of gazelle. He then froze. He then leaped. A large yell was herd as he land upon the gazelle, his teeth bared, his lips pulled back. He gripped the throat and began to shake his head violently ::

:: He carried the corpse back to a thorn bush. Ducking under them to get to his den. The den as but a very large space that is covered by the thorns, above and around. The small crawl space was the only way to get in. He had a very large rock that he pushed to the side, blocking th entrance from lions or hyenas. He began to eat his meal ::

((Mufasa is actually quite far off, conversing with Roho and waiting out some of the storm. x.x So unless there was something really big to draw his attention, it wouldn't be practical for him to just run off.))

The wine-colored lioness merely drops her eyelids into a blink, watching Dama and Kitwana, as if they were curiosities at a show, rather than angry felines. At Dama's querry, she calmly reiterates: "A stranger. No-one that you would care to know." A bitter flicker of a smile cascades across the female's features, but it disappears by the next question. "It's there for those who see, child," She says, cryptically.

At the next statement, she tilts her head, as if genuinely curious. A light chuckle falls from her lips, tail twitching. "Ah, child," She says, before pausing, as if giving it serious thought. Her words come back, whispery through the still-pouring rain: "I went through the same torture, and lived; I know how it is." For a moment, she looks haggard and old, wearied by the world; but in the next instant, as she straightens, she looks as young and vibrant as ever. "There is a reason for everything the gods do, girl."

She glances briefly - and penetratingly - towards the area where Kiyowe is hiding, but she makes no move to go near the other rocks.

She sighs at the twain, as if wearied with their talk. One sharp purple eyes comes up to meet Kitwana's, and there's something dangerous lurking in it. "You promise, then, to shelter her from the storm?" That could mean a whole lot of things, but at the moment, it only means one. "I ask for nothing more." Yet. There's a challenge in her eyes, now, seen clearly, even in the poor visibility.

Nala bounds over to the entrance to the den and stares up at the dark sky, reflections of the rain drops shine in her eyes, as well as the bright flashes of lightning. Slowly inching forward she peers her head out, and the droplets of water bounce off of her fur, tickling her ears. Giggling she ventures the rest of the way out into the rain, splashing in a small pool of water on the rocks. Her steps more like joyous hops in the heavy rain.
