On friday i went to a jazz festival. it was really fun, but we didnt do so good.... sweatdrop i do play the flute by the way, evern though i LOVE the tenor sax heart

RinoaHeartilly Zibeto YAY ZELDA!!! xd zelda is the best series ever, ive beaten the 64 games to many times to count. I used to have the sheet music for the main theme somewhere, but between my cruddy comp losing everthing i download every so often and me being so unorganized ive lost track of it. sweatdrop Wicked. I don't have any sheet music for Zelda, but I have some for Final Fantasy VIII xd i have an OVERLOAD of zelda sheet music, but most of it is only from the ocarina of time and majora's mask. I love those games.....now i have a weird urge to get out my nintendo....

Keltzy Do you live in Washington then? (Yes, I know I sound really stupid) I'm asking 'cause I live in Washington. I think that our worst trip was going to Tacoma because our girls' basketball team went to state. Both bands were crammed on one bus with the cheerleaders, and I wound up sitting halfway in the aisle in between these kids I never talk to, and I had absolutly nothing to do. The way back was better 'cause I was able to sit with my friends. Tuba girl decided to dress like a guy and give herself facial hair. She worries me sometimes. Yep, I live in Washington. Lynnwood, to be precise. Land of the strip malls, as my friends call it. XD Anyway, Fiori, don't be too worried if people don't post right away. This place is fast at times and slow at others. It all depends on the time of day. 3nodding I think it's awesome that you're a tenor sax player; I am too! ^^

Keltzy I'm back, with not much to say. How 'bout hi. We play with 72 choir kids tomorrow and wednesday. Anyone else play with the choir? Band and choir are mostly separate at our school. The only time we have concerts with them is our first concert in October because neither group has enough prepared for a full-length concert. I played with the choir at the last concert because they needed a flautist for a song, but that's the most I've seen the band play with the choir.

The farthest I've ever been on the bus with the band is to Seattle, which is 45 minutes away. XD I've heard some horror stories.... Our band performed at the local mall yesterday. It was pretty cool. I had to take the bus down to the mall; it's times like that when I love playing flute. Much easier to carry on a bus than my sax is. 3nodding Thank you! Apparently winning that game was a big thing, since the last playoff game my school won was in 1987 eek I couldn't believe we won ^^ This saturday the trip is gonna be about and hour and a half to get there, then an hour and a half back. ^_^ KooL! I wanna play at a mall xd Our instructors were telling us about jazz band and pep band the other day, and i wanna join both! But flutes arent in jazz band, so I'm debating on whether or not to play the sax or the trumpet... the entire trumpet section was like "Yeah! Play trumpet!!!' and they held their trumpets up in the air, and there was only 3 sax's in varsity jazz band and like one of them was somewhat saying i should play that xd ill prob play sax since the fingerings are somewhat the same as the flute though. I know one thing for sure though, and thats i'm gonna be in the damn jazz band! scream cuz its friggin awsome xd heart

I was like, "I wanna be in jazz band!" so I went to my BD and she was like, "Learn tenor," so I did. Jazz band kicks SERIOUS butt, and sax is a fun instrument (though I love flute more). And yeah, sax fingerings are mostly the same as flute. There's a couple different ones though, like Bb. I played the Bb with the same fingering as on the flute, and even though it WAS a Bb (right pitch and all), it was apparently "wrong," according to Mr. Know-it-all tenor player. xd I didn't mind the correction, though - it's always good to know if I'm doing something wrong (plus... I was too busy staring at him to really MIND that he was correcting me ^^;; XDDD). I've heard flute players make the best brass players, though. Not sure whether or not that's true, but I DID pick up trumpet rather fast when my brother had one.

I've never heard that flute players are good at brass... I've tried the trumpet... I've failed at that... well I just kinda played the mouth piece. I'm sticking to woodwinds... but I want to play sousaphone... just as a joke, since pepband would be all that much better with me as a sousie.
But our BD says that if there is any need for a jazz floutist he'll let me know. But I'm attempting to teach myself on my brother's alto.
