it will be interesting to see what i think of the HP books when i finally get around to reading them, i've only seen the first 2 films as that's all that's been shown on TV over here so far, i really enjoyed them though, it will be nice to read to books now and get the rest of the storyline that the films have missed out 3nodding

This last weekend my mom's diversity group got together to watch Crash, which is a movie about racial prejudices. It has a lot of name brand people in it, like Brenden Fraser, Sandra Bullock, Ludicrous, Ryan Philippe, and it touches on a lot of different racial issues on a lot of levels and concerning many different races. I highly recommend seeing it.

magikjaz We also just rented "Crash" which was a pretty heavy movie. Quite disturbing in some parts ...i don't know if it was just cuz of things I've experienced or what, but i recommend this movie highly. I can't really say what it's about cuz there's not really a solid plot line...it's people whose lives intertwine in a day in L.A. i didn't want to say what it was about as I went into it without really knowing...just that it was a thought provoker. And I didn't really think it was so much about racial prejudices as it was about the real world. Altho it is about racial prejudices. It's so much more than that tho And I haven't stopped watching movies lol...just haven't had time to be here to talk about them heart

Anyway, the reason we all got together to watch it was specifically to discuss the racial prejudices, in your face and subtle, on all levels, and all kinds, and boy was there a lot to talk about!

Has anyone heard anything about the new Johnny Depp film? No, not the next Pirate's, but a different one. I can't recall the name at the moment, but I do know it opens on the 10th.

Does this ring a bell? Tagline: He didn't resist temptation. He pursued it. Plot Outline: The story of John Wilmot (Depp), a.k.a. the Earl of Rochester, a 17th century poet who famously drank and debauched his way to an early grave, only to earn posthumous critical acclaim for his life's work.

That's the one. I need feedback from anyone going to see this. My daughter wants desperately to see it and it is rated R. So any advice would be great.

I've only heard bits from friends who have seen it. smile
They said it was very good, but with the use of the word c*nt in the hundreds.
It had loads of nudity and sexual talk etc.
Can't wait til it comes out on video. smile I missed it in the cinema. sad

neonibbles That must be a different version maybe?? The commercial says coming out March 10th... Maybe it's coming to DVD March 10th? Dunno! I saw the commercial too and it caught my eye as something Jason would like. *shrugs!* smile EDIT - I just asked Jason what he remembers about the preview, and he says he thought it was coming soon to movie theater too. Here's the IMDB listing for Johnny Depp: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000136/Weird huh? And Lass you said you MISSED seeing it in the theaters already? Like it's already come and gone there? How confusing! lol
