Okay, she was ******** done with this, now. With another scream of fury, she ran full tilt (or at least as full tilt as one could in the sand, which wasn't very fast at all) towards the centipede, sword raised high above her head and swung down as if she were wielding a club instead of a katana.
Regardless, it seemed to have been effective enough, as the centipede exploded just like the first one had, spraying her in a fluid that burned despite her Fear shield. <******** ya, CLEAR!" She called out to the others, turning back towards Tobin, Dean, and hopefully, Nash with a smirk.

Dawson swung and swung as he made his way towards her nonetheless, watching out for the younglings. Last thing they wanted to have for an orientation was a quick reference on "how hunter funerals worked" and "weapon tablet recovery."

Roland went to shift his footing, the sand shifted too and he fell almost hip deep into the sand as it slipped down the slope tugging him along with it.

There wasn't any time for Caroline to have her own reactions - not when the kids were handling this in such wildly different ways. Sy was evidently not fine. Lin wondered if it would be impolite to say so. Instead, she asked, "You know where we are?" "That was the Death division lead, and he is supposedly dangerous. I'm inclined to believe that," she said to Nora. She squinted toward the tents. "We might find shelter, or there may be more centipedes. I suppose we won't know if we don't check."

Roland squirmed tugging himself free of the sand tumbling forward and standing up with Sylvia in both hands, the last creeping bug reared up again to strike and Roland didn't hesitate, he swung his blade and cut it clean in half this time. Another burst of damage, and another puff of darkness as the bug was destroyed.
That done, Sylvia vanished and Roland fell back into the sand taking a seat for a moment as his head was currently spinning.

With a blow directly to its head, he smashed the last bug and took the spray. "HELL YEAAAH!" Behind him he could hear Dottie shouting in happiness, which was good. Maybe she'd forgotten being smashed into the sand.
"I GOT SIX, HOW MANY DID YOU GET?!" He bragged, walking back up a sand dune towards them. Luckily they hadn't seen how many times he failed in the process.

The last of them were swatted off him in a casual gesture. He was already starting to feel the sweat stains coming, but he grinned as he approached and held a hand up for a high-five. "Nice, Meri! He'd been a little too confident with the first throw of the weapon, and the second bit the sand and scattered the centipedes, who had already caught on and chittered in what could almost be interpreted as laughter. "Oh." He reeled Neva in again and pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose as he turned to Sherry. "I mean, if you insist, I'm not gonna say no. After you?" Angry beyond words, Abbi summoned her less than thrilled weapon, and didn't even bother flourishing or prancing about. She did her tried and true method of golf swinging, not only catching the first centipede perfectly under its terrible body, but she would have sent it flying quite far if it hadn't immediately dissolved under the force of her swing.

Dammit, sand, really!? Lunaire scrambled in the sand, her hands trying to find the glasses that had slipped free during her fall. She had to wonder for a moment, if this was a game. Which she was sure it was, why did her vision blur when she lost her glasses?
Had they programmed that in here too?
When she finally got to her feet she was faced with four very ugly bugs. Glancing at her her wrist with the heavy bracelet she pondered about her weapon again only to have it suddenly manifest in place of the bracelet.
"Guess this is the combat tutorial?"

Travis had just wanted some free food. His apple was not even finished when the floor fell away and there was sand everywhere. His apple.... Had fallen into the sand.
Travis was sad. It had been a good apple.
He was even sadder to see a bug crawl out of the sand over his lost apple.

Lunaire crouch slightly wondering if this was the proper way to stand for a fight, she edged towards the creatures holding one arm out the pointed tips of the chakram pointed towards the nearest bug before she whipped her hand back and forth making a shallow cut against it driving them all backwards.

Sam merely blinked as she began to fall. The sensation was exhilarating, even i it was unwelcome. She couldn't say she was happy to see the bugs, however.

Sy tugged on his scarf and raised it higher, half covering his cheeks and all of his mouth, recalling how crazy the last mission was when that Death leader was part of it... perhaps the cause of it too... And the other guy.. always with his video games obsession, but this time the young hunter had seen him searching for something else he;d supposedly lost... "Yeah... we're... in the Sahara..." he replied to Lin... "Have you gone through a portal before...?" And his attention shifted to Nora. "I am not feeling too well. Give me some time and I will ... uh.. be less scared of this place..." His eyes went toward the direction of the tents too. "Maybe we could find water there hidden under all the rubbish..'
