Staying:(Editing) Aurora blinked as the barrier feel and she listened to the figure explain their troubles. The figure who introduced himself as Tomoe, was taller than Aurora by a few inches. She was amazed she had never seen anyone with tails like his. As soon as he said that there were children missing Aurora mind turned to one sharp focus finding those children. Aurora waited till the young grimm asked his question before asking her own. "What do the children look like?? What were they last wearing??" Aurora had a major soft spot for kids, and bearing the thought of them lost alone in the woods, was hard for her to hear. She didn't blame Tomoe for them getting lost, but she wanted them found and safe as soon as possible. "Do you know of any places they like to hide??"

Staying:Naosu was certainly surprised by this stranger's appearance, as well as the fact that though they looked like a Grimm, they didn't seem as if they could be at the same time. A mutant? Ah, but that didn't matter. People lived here and children were missing!
"I'll help!" She said, slipping into first person because this was serious and Tomoe didn't need to be dealing with her eccentric speech patterns when there were missing children to find. "Do you know which direction they might have gone?" Youngish children might end up in the hollows of trees, she guessed. Unless they were a flying species. "This might seem a silly question, but do they have wings, or are they like you?"

Staying:"I'm sure it...is not the worst thing...that has ever been done." A gentle smile graced her features as she took a small shuffled step towards the stranger. Movements were slow, cautious. Much like how one would move when approaching a bunny or a nervous dog. Reaching out a hand, palm upwards, Rei continued to smile. "I would...Like to assist you in...recovering your wards." Her smile flickered as she had a thought. "What was...the last place you...went together...?"

Tomoe's ears flicked up as someone else spoke, head turning to lock their eyes on Aurora. For a second, they just stared, eyes widening with each second before their mouth tightened. Questions. So many questions. They were piling in his brain, reminding him that he failed. He had lost kids. Tiny children, and now this group knew and were judging him. He knew it. He knew it. He always messed up, and this one? This particular mistake? This was the worst one.
He had screwed up.
Tomoe opened his mouth, closing it sharply as a strangled sob almost escaped. No. Stop. Answer their questions. They needed information to right his wrong. To fix the problem he couldn't even fix.
"O-one is very monotone, t-the other i-i-" His voice faltered, hands raising up to rub at his eyes. "T-they're blues and pi-" They couldn't help it, hands flying up to cover their eyes as another sob escaped. They were alone in front of outsiders. They were alone.
Asking questions right now probably wouldn't be a good idea, as the strange man had broken into fresh sobs. They barely registered that Rei was approaching, one ear flicking as fingers spread to look at the approaching hybrid before flicking to look at Naosu, head shaking weakly to both questions. He didn't have the energy to verbally answer anymore.
He was a failure.

Staying:“It’s not like that, I don’t mind the hug what so ever. I’m not…” Samhain trailed off for a second but his voice was seemingly a bit deeper and sharper. “I’m not used to people hugging me is all, yeah let’s go with that. Better keep a good handle on that flashlight, wouldn’t want it to land on your toes.” Seeing as Salem retained a bit of samhain’s concerns, he reached back into his bag and pulled out the ice wrap again. “Here we should probably put a new one on and I have the pain meds if you still need them”
Then things got really interesting. While Salem had wrestled control away from Samhain for a moment since his head partner was having a little embarrassed melt down, suddenly he was in complete control of the body. They had turned to face the new comer and it had been a hit to Samhain. For so long he had gotten hell due to his mutations. After all it was a sign of being hallowed when you had more than the normal share of body parts. Having four tails had brought him hell over the years, but here was a daydream in front of them that shared a lot of common features with Samhain and himself “Helping lost kids? Well Tomoe. I would be absolutely happy to help you find them. After all with a good chunk of us looking, they're bound to be found in no time” Salem replied.... that was close enough to how samhain talked right?

Staying: Bridgette stared in shock at the man standing there before them. He looked like a fox! He was so cute. She frowned as he seemed so distressed and just wanted to give him a hug. She listened to his story and stared at him in shock. Oh no! Those students needed help! There was no way she wasn't helping them ok! "Tambre come on let's go find the students. They are lost and need help. She looked over at the fox male Tomoe. She listened to what he said and nodded her head. "I'll help you find them! Those students need to be found. Do you know places they like to hide or what they like to do?" They must be so scared lost out here. "Don't worry we just want to help find the students." She was determined to find them no matter what. She frowned as he seemed to be falling apart and having a break down. She looked around and took deep breaths to see if she could find any trail of their scent around here.

Oh, oh no. They were going to make him shut down. Neptune had experience with this sort of thing-- it was not pleasant at all. Even though he'd lost track of two kids, bombarding him with so many questions he had a panic attack was not going to help. "U-um, please-- uh... please stop--" He raised a hand and waved it nervously at the others. "Uh--he's-- he's very upset-- please-- um... Please wait--" Neptune nervously edged closer, tail tucked between his legs.
"Uh-- i-it's okay-- we'll h-help. Um. Ju-just..-- T-take a deep breath a-and hold for a few mom-moments..." He spoke quietly, trying to steady his usual nervous stammer but failing at it miserably. "It h-helps to breathe sl-slowly. L-like letting out the a-air slowly... Y-you don't have to answer a-anything else until y-y-you can breathe again.... o-okay?" He tilted his head to the side, hoping the others would slow down enough to let the poor guy recover enough to talk to them before they started in again with the questions.

Staying:
Nadinia had a front row seat to the man hurrying through the gloom. Odd, so odd. She had no idea what he was. And this was Above! It was all rather off putting. Could an entire society exist behind the barrier? Nadi shook her head. It was all too much to consider.
He seemed so distressed. He had lost little ones, after all. "I will help you look. Perhaps that are just playing? Like hide and seek. And we just have to find them." She shot Tomoe a smile, and glanced at Claire.
"Is it safe for us to go alone and look for them, or should we be in groups. Oh, what are their names, so we can call for them?"

Aurora frowned "I'm so sorry Tomoe, I'm sure they will be ok, and I for one along with many of the others are ready to help you, whatever you suggest, you know these kids, I'm sure together we can find them." Aurora said softly "I'm Aurora a grimm from the Bellow, I run a bookstore near Nightmare academy, there are a bunch of other wonderful people, who came on the field trip, I'm sure together we can find the kids. For instance, grimms have great senses smell, hearing." Aurora said softly trying to reassure Tomoe it would be alright.

Staying:Nashira wondered why Samhain's voice seemed to suddenly change, but she still appreciated the concern, and her ponderings past when he handed her another ice pack. "Thank you, Samhain." She said softly, shifting so she wouldn't drop the flashlight as she put the ice pack on the worst of her stings. And then suddenly, there was a new person. Whoa. Who... and what, were they? She listened silently as he explained frantically about losing children. Looking back at her friends, and thinking how scared everyone had seemed to come on this trip (Or maybe that was just her) and how nervous they all were about being in this strange place, she couldn't even imagine how the children must feel. And then the man burst into sobs, and she felt terrible for him. She shifted her gear for a moment and fished into her bag before finding a handkerchief. This was a great distraction from her fluster with hugging Samhain. Oh, there was that embarrassed feeling again. She swallowed thickly and walked up cautiously to the sobbing man before offering him the pink and orange embroidered cloth. "Here." She said softly. "I'll help you look for the children too."

"I think....you are very brave...to ask for help from...those you don't know." Above and below knew she could never do it. Her own problems aside, Rei attempted to keep from looking too worried, and instead looked around, trying to see anything she could. For now, she would simply keep her hand held out welcomingly, the tip of her tail thumping against the ground, kicking up dust. She did hope he would calm down, and in order to help, mostly herself now that she was starting to absorb his panic, began to hum. A soothing, soft tune.

Ahh, of course they were overwhelming him! She made placating motions at him, though she didn't touch him. "Okay, okay. Let's take a minute and breathe. We'll help you, it will be okay. Little kids are tricky sometimes. It's okay, it will be okay." It was natural to her to slip into more light-hearted language, to speak in the third person, to try and cheer Tomoe up, but that didn't seem like the right course of action.
She maneuvered her pack off and rummaged through for her canteen and poured a cup into the lid. "Here, it's just water. You can drink if you like. It might help?" She offered a small, encouraging smile.

Leaving:"I'm Neovi. Nice to meet you! Too bad it happened when we're both lost and hurt though, huh?" The fey mustered up a smile for her partner and then turned to look ahead. "Alright, one more time and then we'll take a break so you can rest up that leg. I think it seems better this..." She trailed off, staring, as the barrier crumpled and there everyone was. Relieved didn't quite cover the feeling as she helped Divone over to the rest of the crowd and paused to eye the distraught stranger. He had odd features, but missing kids was a more pressing matter than her curiosity.
She made to raise a hand to gather attention then flinched, having moved her injured arm without thinking. That was...no good. She slumped dejectedly, then sighed. "I'm just gonna be more of a liability like this. I'll head back so there's one less person for everyone to worry about." She hesitated another second, murmured a quick "Good luck, I hope they're alright" and then turned to go.
Quote: Can't wait to see what all happens, but I'm too busy to keep up right now! Have fun guys!

Staying:T'kani nearly lunged for Noelan once Claire had cut her free from Lillith, giving him a tight hug, which loosened after a few moments once she realized that he might not appreciate his spine being adjusted in such a way. It wasn't that she didn't like the dryad she was partnered with, merely that she was very happy to see that her puppy had made it through as well.
She was about to look for Naosu when the strange boy appeared, almost looking like an Imp/Grimm hybrid? A cutie either way. Listening attentively, she frowned a bit at the tale of these lost kids, ears drooping slightly. She raised her hands to sign him something, but with everyone else talking she decided against it. No need to pester the poor boy, and there wasn't anything new she could ask at the moment. Perhaps once things had calmed down she would be able to, but for now it was better to listen attentively.
Spying Naosu amidst the small gathering, she smiled and gestured to Noelan as she reunited their small group.

Tomoe had stopped responding for a bit, tails curled tightly around their body as they tried to process what was happening. This was their fault. They had opened the barrier. They had invited these strangers in. They had lost the kids. This was THEIR doing. And they were going to pay for it. They knew it.
Tomoe had been lost in his thoughts, snapping out of them when new voices popped up, and quickly. His ears flicked down, removing his hands and wiping at tears as he tried to listen. They were going to help him, for the most part. Some of them so far, at least. His tails lowered slightly as relief washed through him. Help. They were going to help. Nervously, his eyes darted to Samhain, then Bridgette, a weak smile touching his features, wavering slightly.
"I-I'm sorry. T-thank you." He stammered, hands trembling against his sides. His chest tightened at Bridgette's question, nails digging into his palms.
Calm down.
"They like to hide w-where I can't see them. Dark places. H-High places. Inconvenient locations... m-mostly." Their heart fluttered again, eyes squeezing shut as the panic returned.
Then Neptune spoke up.
The teenager had spoken up before, hosting a nervous energy he identified with. Tomoe inhaled sharply when Neptune approached, nodding faintly at the advice. He was right, Tomoe needed to breathe. Holding their breath, the strange man looked at his feet, exhaling slowly and beginning the process again. After he had done so for what seemed a minute he gave a shaky laugh, head raising to show a soft smile. As Nashira approached he blinked back through the tears that had formed, delicately taking the cloth.
These people were good. They wouldn't hurt him. "T-thank you." He whispered softly to Nashira, giving her a timid smile as he gently dabbed at his tears.
"S-sorry. I just... Overwhelmed. Thank you. Sincerely, thank you." He jumped slightly as the fey, Naosu, approached him, hesitantly smiling at the kind gesture before taking the drink. "Thank you."
He seems to have calmed quite a bit, thanks to the group! You can try and ask questions now!
