Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Cracked photo! Where: See if she recognize any of the suspects! How: Magnifying glass and eyes! All of these trolls are strangers, and according to the label on the back of the photo they're all resting in peace - with the exception of Erilyn. Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Silver necklace! Where: Check out the remnants of a white dust! How: Using a pair of tweezers, her nose, dish of some sort and gloves! While tweezers and gloves are the right idea, using your sniffnode to investigate puts you in quite a bit of danger. You inhale some of the remnants and start to feel nauseous and quite sweaty. After a while you toss your proverbial cookies. Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Silver necklace, and the Cracked photo ! Where: See if anyone in the picture is wearing the necklace! How: Using her trusty magnifying glass and her eyes! No one in the photo is wearing the silver necklace. - Azrael - Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: The white powder from Hemera's velvet bag to the white flecks in the colorful liquid from the nutrition block. Where: whether it's the same stuff. How: Eyes and memory ((note: the clue was from the banquet block, not the nutrition block)) The white powder is very familiar. It appears to have the same consistency to the powder you found earlier in the smudgy glass.

Alifax nodded in satisfaction, sorting papers with the loose handwriting into a pocket of his bag and returning Kursha's papers to him - he knew the contents of them now, after all, and he possessed samples of both pieces of handwriting. At least with the cigarette and the record label now he knew who the handwriting belonged to. Quickly he put everything away - he'd need to cart much of this over to Eostre, and the red envelope, too, when Kursha and Lorata were done with them. He turned back to the saccharine note, which seemed to have fairly unique handwriting. Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: saccharine note Where: handwriting, perfume How: sniffing the perfume to see whether it's familiar at all. also i just want a description of the handwriting haha <3

Much better than poison, and not dangerous at all. The smell is strong, almost overwhelmingly so. It makes you want to put on lipstick, do a high kick and huff out of the room. The handwriting is a loopy scrawl in glittery pen.

Leeroi shook his head at Azrael. Jeez, what was his deal? Didn't he know he was better off without Eridia? He frowned at the other blueblood. He was hard to read. "Lol, chill," Leeroi said, shaking his head at Hemera. "It's just blood, I'm not gonna die," Leeroi set the vial back down, looking closely at the other vials. His gaze flicked over to the other poison bottle with unknown contents, thinking for a moment before shaking his head. It didn't really matter if the contents were actually poison, did it? Their label was all that really mattered. Sugar water or lethal venom, Leeroi already knew it was planted evidence, so drinking the contents was pointless. He picked up another blood vial. "So, the orange one's all used up. Someone forging evidence in Tigwyn's name?" Leeroi scratched his neck, taking note of his theories. "I don't think there's any rainbowdrinkers at this party, at the very least." He smirked. "Say," He said, turning back to the tealblood, "let's test the rest of these colors, to see if anything else is missing here." SS Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Blood Vials from the Purple Purse Where: Testing the remaining liquids for their blood color How: With sight, and dropping small doses into water dishes You drip the individual vial contents into the containers and notice a peculiar trend. There are a few different shades of each of the warm hues - a variety of reds and deep umbers, a few different yellows. Only a sparse amount of the highest blood colors - two teal samples and two widely different blues - are present, and are in the more elegant of the vials. They don't appear to match exactly with any of the present guests.

Blood...
Hemera's face scrunched in a new way, trying to process the idea. "Hmmm..." She hadn't considered that. Mera cupped her chin with a hand, looking at the collection of evidence they had. "Did the orange look like Ioyana's color...? And why him if it was?" the tealblood was asking herself more than anything else. She listened to Leeroi talk about rainbowdrinkers. No one glowed, that was for sure. Some trolls had the right fangs, but... Hm.
She looked up upon him addressing her again. The blueblood was smirking, to boot. She frowned a little bit, face a little flushed behind her mask. Then he talked about 'testing' them. "If you mean drinking more evidence, absolutely not." Her hands had returned to the table, and were starting to visibly freeze up in her tension. Like a trade-off for keeping self-control when she wanted to throttle him and wipe that smile off his face. How did anyone stand this guy.
Instead, Leeroi dripped the contents into water. "O-oh." She sagged a little. Even as she did so, there was some admitted relief. "Yes, that's an idea...a decent one." Hemera exhaled. She leaned in a little, making the ice crack and flake off. "Let's see here..." She looked at the evidence, glanced at the adults, and back with each drip. "None of these are copying their blood colors. No greens or purples, either. Lots of lowblood colors, though. But why?"
Hemera paused. She had to consider something. "Do you ever paint eggs for All Eggs Day? Have you ever dealt with paint sets that only had so many colors and you had to mix to get the hue you wanted? Do you think...maybe the culprit mixed colors if this is a case of forgery? It must be extremely difficult to get someone's exact blood color, especially in a subtle manner."

Ҕᾁʐɱᾁʂ Ҏӫςɧῒɱ xxxxCentral Hivestem || Rumpus Block Giving Chiara as friendly and comforting a pat as he could, Hazmas looked up when he heard the voice of a familiar blue blood behind him. It was Azrael and judging by the tears on his cheek and his expression towards another blue blood, who apparently had a literal taste for dangerous objects. The greenblood frowned, absently padding himself for his own evidence as if to make sure the blue-blooded poison tester wouldn't get them. But it wasn't there. Hazmas stood bolt up right and began padding himself and his pockets frantically.
"Oh no, Oh no, no, no, no, no, no! Where is it?" he said aloud, obviously distressed. Unable to find the pill he'd discovered in the dining block, Hazmas let out a hoot of dismay. "Machim, I lost the pill! I lost the pill!"
How had he managed to lose it? He'd made sure to keep it safely tucked away in his vest pocket so he could examine it later. Without that, all he had was a useless postcard and a bunch of local fun facts - some of which might actually be useful, if their keeper weren't in so upset. It was as the young green blood approached the point of hysterics that his lusus clapped her large hand on his head, jarring him as he stood.
'Stop panicking, kid, and look around!' she grunted, clapping his head again. 'If you lost somethin', it's more than likely someone else found it!'
Hazmas rubbed his head, which was starting to throb from his lusus's rough treatment of it. But her words had merit.
'Okay, okay,' he thought taking a deep, calming breath. 'Last place I checked it was in the hivestem. Then I went to the Training block and..' He stopped and looked to Lorata. That's right. He'd fallen after talking to Comedi. Maybe that's where he dropped it and Lorata picked it up!? He could only hope for such good fortune, but there was only one way to find out!
"Ahh, sorry Chiara, be right back!" he said and hurried off towards Lorata and the little group she was with.
"Hey Lorata!" he called, his cheeks still flushed with his distress. "Uh, did I drop anything in the training block when we were talking? Maybe a white pill about this big?"
He indicated the size of the pill with his fingers and paused when he saw Alifax handling different scraps of paper, some of them with the same writing on it.
"Hey, you comparing scrawls Alifax?" he asked, momentarily distracted from his current personal catastrophe.

"Oh, Hazmas!" Lorata glanced up from the bits of evidence that had been passed along for her and Kursha to look at and smiled at the greenblood. "Did you come to share your clues with us?" Still in an exceptionally good mood after being told she'd done well (of course she had, but it was so nice for the Captain to comment on it), she didn't even make a complaint on where she'd seen him coming from. It was good enough that he'd left Chiara's side for hers, for now. What he had to say was a little puzzling though.
"A pill? I don't think I saw anything like..." Squinting, the seadweller mentally walked through her investigation of the training block. "No, there wasn't anything like that. Why did you have a pill anyway? Do you take medicine or someth-" And then she paused, gasping in dismay. "Was it evidence? And you lost it?"

Finally, she was able to return to the Central Hivestem.
After nestling comfortable, Elidae laid out all the scraps of paper she found while sifting through the garbage in the library out onto the floor. It was a somewhat tedious task, like a puzzle, and within a short while grew dull and humdrum. After rubbing her eyes, she squinted down at the scraps. What she could piece together, she taped, to make solid. Feeling frustrated, she decided to move on to something else, but would definitely come back to the scraps of paper. Could be something... important...? Maybe?
Next was the peculiar glass she stumbled upon in the North Outgrowth, Holding it out, she took a good, hard look. There was a strange, white residue coating the inside, the bottom appearing moist from previously being filled. However, a black lipstain on the rim of the glass made her curious. The only trolls out of the five suspects who wore black lipstick would be... the two purplebloods, Rutven and Comedi. Wait... wait, no, Schrad also seemed to wear black lipstick? Elidae really wanted to know who this glass possibly belonged to. With extreme cautious, she brought the glass a little closer to her face, taking in a delicate whiff. Curious.
Nearby, she noticed two highbloods standing beside each other, with a table full of collected clues. They looked smart and put together! Maybe they could help her!
Quickly, Elidae moved towards them, picking up her findings (especially careful with the shredded document). With a huge smile, the yellowblood approached them, placing the unwashed glass, taped scraps of garbage paper, and finally, very slowly scooted the military publication she had picked up from the library within the second hour of the party onto the table next to the other findings. After a moment of glancing between the papers and the contrasting highbloods, she spoke. "Hello! I'm Elidae. I dunno what any of this means, but maybe it will be useful for you?" Elidae gave the two a most animated, open-mouth smile, clapping her hands excitedly.
There was a pause, however, as she got a better look at the much taller purpleblood's face. So familiar. Is that...? With a gasp, Elidae's face lit up like fireworks. "Ohhh! Do I know you?"

MILITARY PUBLICATION It's a collection of military publications. Most are quite recent, and one of the older publications denotes none other than Shishi Schrad's abilities and exploits. The article praises her survival and saving of other trolls, guiding lowbloods to safety when highblood officers were killed during duty.

Eostre put a finger to her chin, eyebrows furrowed as she thought deeply. "I did talk to Puchen though, and I didn't see any wounds... maybe the stains aren't even blood? Could be ink, or... something." She really wished she could take the sample and look at it in here, and maybe compare it to something... She hadn't thought of it when she first saw the stains. She glanced back up at Tamiya, and sighed. Even careful examination of her clues didn't help. The writing didn't match (and the postcard looked like it was typed...), and she still had no idea who was in the photo. Smuggled military supplies... hmm. She was given an excuse to not to think about her clues when a young, energetic yellowblood came to offer her clues. Softening her expression, she gave a warm smile to her. "Hello Elidae. What do you have for us here?"she said, looking at the military publication. No wonder the lowbloods adored Sir... But so far nothing here gave her any wild insights to her other clues, even if it was interesting. She introduced herself to the young yellowblood. "I'm Eostre, darling."

Chiara MotekuxxxxxWatchingChiara grinned as Hazmas joined her. "There you are!" She exclaimed as he came up to her. "Im so glad you found me, ive got a lot of info to share with you and stuff." Suddenly the boy started yelling. Something about a pill. Chiara edged away, unsure how to react to the flailing and yelling. "Uh...." She tried to talk to him as he freaked out, but then we went over to Lorata. Of course. So Hazmas wasn't really Chiara's friend. He was probably just using her to get information or her authority as a highblood. Now that he had a fancy little sea dweller what good was some low rank blueblood? All of her guilt over him evaporated, and she just felt betrayed. "Here!" Chiara handed Psykgi a note with some of her writing on it. It was a little surprising how meticulous she had been with her facts, considering she didn't really care about the murder mystery at all. She had a copy and that was only half of her clues, so it was not such a big deal to the blueblood. Quote: The metal shelving in the basement: In addition to various hive objects, there is a box of warm-hued candy sitting next to an unopened pack of soda. It has been split open at the top neatly, and contains orange and red candies. Wall behind the cage containing the mutantbloods: Covering the wall is a sheet of wood. When you remove it, you find a tunnel that has been crudely dug. It leads from the basement down a ways, but appears to have been filled or caved in at its crook. Chiara then left. Hazmas a traitor, Zindel no where to be found, there was only one thing Chiara wanted to do right now, and she was gonna go do it. Chiara walked up to Eridia. It was probably not the best time for this, but Chiara was determined. Determined, betrayed, and mad. "Hey, Hey you!" Chiara called as she sat down next to the purpleblood Eridia. "My glob the people at this party suck. Wish there was more than just one lousy murder." Chiara said to Eridia. "Do you actually want to solve this murder? If you do I can give you notes and stuff..." Chiara trailed off.

Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Bundle of shredded documents found in the waste bin in the librury Where: Trying to put it together to form a whole document How: Eyeballs and hands, taping together pieces that fit The documents seem to be military reports from a while back. Before the current empress's rule, certainly. They list troops and soldiers that have died in action, along with their death location and who they were serving with at the time. It seem to be from the Alternian Central Intelligence and Communications Office, and are the original copies of the documents. More specifically, they seem to have originated from the 'H Unit' office. Hivestuck I'd like to get out my magnifying glass and smoking pipe. What: Unwashed glass from Northern Outgrowth Where: The smell from inside the glass, a closer inspection of the white residue, the shape of the lipstain How: Eyes, smelling from a distance. The lipstain seems to be from a broad-mouthed troll who darkens their lip for that bold look.

Sarcel had eventually found her way back to the central hivestem, though she was less than thrilled. The things she had found were definitely worrisome, but what had her rattled was the lack of her lusus. Chinchillamom was tiny, and this hive was huge. The small creature could be literally anywhere, and that worried Sarcel a lot.
She had to push it out of her mind. The creature would show up again eventually. As she entered the hivestem, it was apparent that everyone was throwing their data together and coming up with conjecture. She had a duty here, lusus or not.
At least there were some familiar faces. Eostre and Tamiya were immediately spotted, the small yellowblood from earier chatting with them. Sarcel felt her heart swell slightly, remembering how she was one of the ones that agreed with her and spoke out against the other brazen child. Of all the damn wrigglers running around here, she was definitely one of the better ones. She made a mental note to check with the child later, thank her.
As it was, Sarcel spotted someone more familiar: Alifax was busy with himself and- oh, Kursha was there, and Lorata too. It almost felt nostalgic until she spotted that aforementioned outspoken child from before. It was hard to even tell if they were a yellowblood or a greenblood, though honestly that detail wasn't very important. She walked over regardless, carried herself a little higher if only because she was exhausted and fed up with the event. The sooner she could find her lusus and get out, the better.
"Firebird Project?" Sarcel echoed as she strode up, already reaching into her overfilling coat pockets. Had it just been Alifax, she probably would have relieved the coat of the many knives, but in front of everyone else she just felt... awkward. Anyway, there was something more important. Producing a post card, she set it out for the group to see:
Peculiar Postcard Behind the blade rack, there is a piece of paper that has fallen. It's flat against the wall. It is a postcard with a moonlit scene of the Civisect Beach on one side. On the other side is the following note. "Queen Marian just sent out troops to eliminate the Phoenix Initiative threat. I can't believe she's giving them publicity, but ... This could be good news! Do you think they'll clear you? I have to do intelligence; I'll tell you what I can. Please be well. <>"
"P-Phoenix sounds a-a lot like a f-firebird... she said duly. Even if it was unreated to the Firebird thing, it was still a pretty interesting clue. "Here, t-this too..."
The notebook she slapped out was, in her opinion, just a little more concerning. Or at least had the potential to be. Maybe Alifax could cross compare it to other clues.
Black Notebook In the rubble you find a small black book. Names inside have been written in a whimsical, mirthfully spiralling font, some with beetle amounts next to them. And some with various quadrant symbols. Notably, quite a few of the names have been crossed off.
"T-Thoughts?" She inquired before relaxing a little. Ah, manners Sarcel... "I... hope y-you have all been f-faring well? Shame a-about the circumstances..."

Ҕᾁʐɱᾁʂ Ҏӫςɧῒɱ xxxxCentral Hivestem || Rumpus Block "Yeah.. I thought I had it when I came in to the East Outgrowth but..." Hazmas gave Lorata a helpless look and shook his head. "Anyway, if you guys are comparing handwriting stuff, I've got a few pieces that might help."
Still feeling the sting of losing a possibly vital clue, Hazmas reached into his sleeve and withdrew the postcard and tag he'd gathered in his ventures and handheld them out for the others to examine. He sighed inwardly and glanced over at Chiara. It looked like she was talking with Eridia. He felt horrible that he'd lost the evidence - the very piece of evidence he'd wanted to share and explore with her. But he hoped that with these trolls help, he might have something better to share with her.
Anonymous Postcard A simple, small piece of stock paper. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be a postcard. The address information has been removed. The image on the back is of Civisect City, and the message reads: "Chittentown has suffered a major drought - I don't know if it's affected you at all. The Queen sent out the summons for trolls to assist. Any old troll. Makes you wonder about what she thinks about the military. I'm doing well. I hope you are also faring well. Ewema is worried about you! I'll send another message through the usual next time." Taxidermied High Art Gift Tag A tag sits near the rump of the creature that reads "From your friend Epratt".

“Ah, alas… She might be a sneaky whelp,” Tamiya snapped. She cast a sidelong glance at Puchen. Everyone at this party was hiding something, it was clear. She bit her lip and suddenly a ball of yellow energy bounded up to them. Tamiya’s mouth opened in a small “o”. A small gasp escaped like air from a musty tomb being smashed open. “Deathsage. Little speckled fae, oh…! I am overwhelmed with explosive joy that you escaped those Messiah-forsaken tunnels.” She put a hand on Elidae’s slight shoulder and smiled broadly. “Elidae. I am Tamiya Aiguma. Let us look at your spoils.” She offered. A glass with an odd substance and what Tamiya immediately identified by sight, smell, taste, and the special sixth clown sense as Faygo. And, some shredded papers. That could be useful, and Tamiya excelled at tedious tasks wherein order ruled all. This was a perfect opportunity for her. Tamiya began to sift through the papers with her fingers, extracting each strip and laying it flat. Her efforts were meticulous. She spoke to both of her companions as she did so. “******** crying shame that Brother Deburu is not here for trial…” Tamiya sighed, casting a glance up at Eostre as she did so. “It strikes me as mighty oddballs that he would not be present, considering the ultimate subjugglation may be at hand this evening. I hope you have not found danger yourself during these hours, little one.”
