Out on the front lines, a weapon in her hand, Nergui finally felt something. It didn't fill the void left by the loss of memories when she'd pledged, she doubted anything would at this point, but this helped. This made her pulse speed, brought on a focus she'd been lacking.
Charging in, fearless, Nergui brought her sword around in a heavy, wide arch across the body of darkness, slicing into their enemy, smiling as she heard the resulting howl of pain.

Maple let out a small grunt out of desperation and lunged her pole-axe forward trying to strike at something. She felt it connect and she felt herself in turn get clawed at like so many times before.
With that last bit of pain, she pulled herself back to catch a breath. That bath was sounding more amazing right now.

She should have been scared, and a small part of her was. There was an instinctual terror that came with darkness and fire, but it was fuel, propelling her onward with fierce determination and maybe even a touch of joy.
It felt so good wielding that blade, cutting into the bodies of those that threatened her. She wanted more, she wanted to tear them down, rend them, destroy them.

Claws against her leg, a glancing brush that was more sensation than pain. Nergui responded automatically, pivoting on a two, dancing back and out of range before darting forward again to drive the point of her blade through the body of a shadow. It howled, needle like fingers scrambling at the blade as it pushed it's way through until the tip emerged from the back of it's dark body.
A foot to the head, and she pulled the blade free, letting the lifeless body fall to the ground.

Verusha was kicking it. Seriously, he was on fire, bending, weaving, bobbing, while his arms whirled about around him. He had to have been destined for this, for to feel so awesome, and natural. Slugging shadows away, a grin that was akin to Morgan's was spreading more and more on his face, especially when landing a critical hit on one shadow that knocked it back into some of its own kinsmen.
