He smiled to her and turned his phone over to show her. "Come on. You don't age bad at all. Now you can see what you have to look forward too. We can be old bitties with the rest of us." He said, before noticing his hair over hsi shoulders. "Geez. I'll be needing a trim too or else I'm going to start looking like the other hunters on the island." He brushed the hair back behind him and wished he was the sort to own hair ties.
He decided to see if all the pools didn't change his age, and tried another, this time sipping from a new pool. As he did, he felt another chill and then his heart started to slow and race up again. He touched his forehead and sat down on the ground, breathing deep. He felt tired, but worse, the room was spinning a bit. The plants around them seemed to move, and he felt more and more worried that there were creatures watching him behind those green leaves.
"...Rin?" He called out, looking around but feeling too worn to get up. "...Rin? Where are you?" Without a stronger prescription, it was hard to see her among all the blurred shapes.

Evan wasn't quite sure where he was now, but going through this room seemed to be the only way to move forward. He didn't know how close he was to the top, but he certainly wasn't going to go back. This place looked harmless enough--even nice, he supposed--but Evan certainly wasn't going to start taking any chances now.
He skirted the pools, for now, instead intent on finding a way out. There didn't seem to be any--no doors, no windows, not even a crack in the wall--and he finally came across the pillars. "Drink the water and you may enter," he muttered. "Do it or die." His favorite kind of ultimatum. Great.
Evan looked at the pools that dominated the garden. They all looked alike to him, none of them labeled "Drink Me" or "Certain Death Here" the way he'd hoped they would be. With a resigned sigh, he took a knee by the nearest pool, scooped up a handful of water, and drank it. It didn't taste any different than normal water. He paused, waiting for...he didn't even know what. Something to indicate that he was closer to getting out of here.
When nothing happened, he sighed and stood, startling when he saw a stark black outline in the middle of the otherwise serene landscape. "Hell of a time for you to show up," Evan muttered, still upset at his last encounter with the specter of his friend in the dark maze.
Yeah, the dead never do seem to rest where they ought to, do they? Ain't that a b***h?
"Whatever."
Aw, are you still mad about earlier? Someone had to get you moving--and it worked, didn't it?
"Can we do this later? I'm kind of busy."
I can see that. Drink deep, ******** off."
/Who are you talking to??/
You don't see him? He's standing right there!
/See who?/

Evan pointedly ignored both his weapon and his own personal ghost as he moved on to another pool. The water in that one didn't taste any different from the first. Evan was getting annoyed. He didn't like headgames in his day to day life, and he hated them while he was on the clock. Why couldn't anything ever be straightforward? Find monster, kill monster, go home: that should have been it. He stood and dried his hand on his pants, whirling as he saw something run past him out of the corner of his eye.
He had his weapon summoned in a heartbeat as he tried to catch sight of whatever it had been, his breath held as he listened to hear which direction it might have gone in. He finally heard it rustling in the bushes--or so he thought. The soft susurration quickly spread from one set of bushes, to another, to all of them, and from there to every goddamn plant in the room. All of them shaking, hiding something that was going to jump out and get him, any second, any second...

Hadiyya had managed to find her way out of the room with the bottles and into another. This one was larger, a vast palace with colorful pools of water and bordering gardens. Statues stood tall at the centers, drawing the eye, and for a few moments the djinn lost herself in the beauty of it all. Of the places she had been, this one reminded her most of home. It was the architecture, the touches of flora in elegant touches here and there, and of course the water.
Water that called to her, beckoning. She was more than happy to oblige, moving forward to sink down at the edge of the violet pool. Bending, she dipped a hand into that colorful water and lifted it to her lips to sip. It was cool and refreshing, but with every small swallow she could feel a tingling spread through her hands, down her legs.
With a hum she straightened, smiling to herself as she swayed in place for a moment before a soft, content giggle slipped past full lips.
Had it been more than water? It must have been. She felt well and truly intoxicated. Dreamy and lethargic, more so than was natural, even for her. It should have been worrying, but she just couldn't seem to muster up to care for it.
