So curse the unrepentant. Thraen's expression did not change at the defiant globules now painting his boot and leg. He just looked down at the corrupted, visage a portrait carven for a stone effigy with half-lidded, burning eyes.
He shifted his weight suddenly in a bid to bring the other leg's knee down on the corrupted's already strained ribs. It doesn't have to be your neck, that is just the faster to crush.

Crumpled on the ground, Auriga had too much confusion in her head to be worried about Cyllene -- at least, until the searing burn of acid lit her skin on fire. A choked scream flew from her lips as she tried to slap the acid away, but that only succeeded in making her hands burn too. She was only fortunate her face had been angled away from the girl.
This proved it, she thought. This proved how evil the Negaverse was. She had been attacked while she was down. Crawling to her feet, Auriga spun on Cyllene. "Kicking someone when they are down," she said, screwing her face up. Her skin ached from the acid, burned. "That is what you do. Whatever you were before, that is not who you are now."
With a grunt, Auriga stomped at the girl's feet and then swung a punch toward her jaw, just like Gunn had taught her in training.

His ribs hurt, but Virgo's arms around him suddenly warmed him. His smile ghosted against where he bent to wrap around her, brightness back in his eyes. When she pulled away, he felt a sudden chill -- and then, the familiar call to her magic. A shield? Oh no, a shield that would hurt her. She had put on her scary shield -- at least, scary when she was using it to protect anyone but Chronos.
Neso rows his hands weakly toward Virgo, but he said nothing. Instead, he frowned and stepped backward, trying to determine how best to protect her without actually getting hurt himself and only hurting her more. Thank God Babylon appeared and told him what to do. That made everything easier.
Wordlessly, Neso reached out, latching himself to Virgo's legs as she flew toward Leto, attempting to wrestle her backward to the best of his ability. "Virgo, we should GO," he said, voice thick with something that was not happiness and therefore sounded unnatural. "Think of the Princess." Low blow. Just saying it kicked him in the heartstrings extra hard. A thousand other things were left unsaid.
Bifrost appeared with a shield, and the Senshi of Summer began to feel even better. See? No one had to get hurt! They had double shields AND the strongest shield of all: friendship.
OH AND HEY -- his New Friend was here too: Chariklo. "Hi," he said to her, oblivious to sort of everything and just wanting desperately to leave.

Skidding to a stop roughly between Leto and Neso's group, Chariklo couldn't help grinning a little and raising an eyebrow as Neso lunged for his lady friend's legs.
"Dude," she shook her head in surprise. "If this is your magnificently radiant angel, she's awfully violent. And, I mean, I know I said I'd help you look out for your friends and all, but if she's trying to kill my Princess we're going to have to have words here."
Just seeing Leto whole and in one piece was doing wonders for Chariklo's own morale. And given how she'd just descended through a fiery and smoky sort of Hell, she really wanted to just get everyone out of the warehouse. Thanks to the White Phoenix fiasco, she knew that Negaverse officers could teleport. And right now, as she glanced back to consider Persephone, she wondered what the corrupt Eternal could do.
"Y'know, much as i really hate being a voice of reason," Chariklo raised her voice slightly, addressing no-one in particular, "I would like to point out that the floor above us is on fire. And likely to start dropping fiery death down on all of us if we don't get out of here. How 'bout we all just take a rain check on the a**-kicking, huh?"
Her grin was beginning to turn manic as she wondered just how much s**t she would be in if she were to knock Leto out and drag her bodily from the warehouse. Instead, she turned and began to gentle shove Leto and Persephone, hoping to get them moving.
"Time for us to make our exits, girls," she muttered with an apologetic look at them both.
Chariklo out!

Babylon is on the third floor, heading for the stairs
As much as Babylon had never thought he'd see the day when he took orders from a dark mirror senshi, Chariklo's suggestion of immediate egress sounded extremely reasonable. And, given that Bifrost was providing cover and Neso had held up his end of the bargain-
Babylon grabbed Virgo by her shoulders and tried to ignore how she struggled to break from his grasp. "Okay, yep," he said. "The bloody beatdown can wait. We're getting you out of here." He looked to Neso. "Stairs?" he suggested, and glanced sympathetically at Virgo. She was going to hate him later. She probably hated him now. But Virgo alive was infinitely better than Virgo dead.
"Bifrost!" he called to the nearby squire. "You're doing great. Come on. We're getting out of here."
Kerberos kept struggling, but it was pretty obvious that he was screwed. If only he could breathe long enough to get Avalon's attention -
And then he remembered what he'd been told when he first received his communications crystal. Break it, and it would send out an SOS to any officers nearby. He let go of his vain struggle against the boot on his throat to call the crystal to his hand, and then smashed it against the ground as hard as he could.

The high-pitched scream of a shattered crystal rang through Avalon's head, and she knew instantly that it was Kerberos. She had no desire to see another Negaverse death, but she didn't think she could get away unless she got this senshi taken down.
Like that'd be hard.
Avalon twisted to the side, out of the way of the senshi's attack--hefted her sword--and drove it into the senshi's back. "I wish I could say the same," she said, yanking the blade free. There was blood, enough of it that she knew this senshi was going to go down--and then she teleported again, to the source of the shattered crystal's signature.
She grabbed hold of Kerberos, handfuls of his uniform tight in her grip, and then teleported one final time, taking him with her.

Ashur is on the second floor, heading up the stairs.
It was a bit of a relief to see she hadn't lost all of her sense of humor. Still, Ash couldn't help but roll his eyes at her retort. It was even more of a relief when, as they reached the second floor, the Page noted the absence of the captain; no reason for them to stop, no reason for him to have to try and drag her anywhere. Which was probably a good thing considering she didn't look at all like she'd be too easy to handle without aggravating her injuries.
They walked on in an odd sort of silence at first, but as they hurried up the stairs to the first floor Ash wondered aloud about how they should probably go to the ER or something. Far as he was concerned it'd benefit her more than him, though there was a good chance he had a partially messed up bone in his face.
"When they start asking questions, just promise you won't tell 'em that I did that to you..." he chattered on, attempting to at least lighten the mood a little.

Turquoise is out (actually ICly was a long time ago).
She hadn't expected that kind of response. The tone of his voice was so strong, so hateful. It left her wonder what she had wrong, or was he just in a bad mood? However, now was not time to linger in such thoughts. Her starseed was in fire, threatening her with a pain so hard she almost cried outloud. Afraid such thing would actually happen, she summoned her communication crystal out, not wanting her weak moment to be heard by the general. But even though it hurt, she managed to keep herself quiet by focusing on her breathing alone.
Once the pain was gone, she saw no rainbow on the sky anymore. They are connected? The rainbow and the pain are connected?
Well, it didn't matter. It was time to go home. She had given orders. She felt tired. Hurt too. Not really physically, no, her wounds were more in her pride. Today has been a failure, on her part at least. She turned on her heels and left the burning warehouse behind her.

Sarras is in the staircase, but not for long.
Her chastising on torture ‘little girls’ fell on deaf ears, and had there been time, the Cosmos page would have retaliated with a sneer and perhaps fired back with some moral cheap shots as well. There was Chaos in her soul and while she personally may not have harmed others on the other side of their court, he was certain that there were others within her own that have done the same thing he did, taken lives, resorted to acts of barbarism to get the information they desired. What right did a Dark Mirror senshi have to talk to him about honor and nobility when she allowed chaos into her soul?
Also, her mistake was in thinking that Sarras even cared. Honestly, he cared nothing for honor, nobility, anything that would have gotten in the way of victory, or in the very least his goal. Maybe other knights cared about their public image or sought a more peaceful solution, but even before this war, Sarras had no love or desire for the rules of war. Wars weren’t won on them, last he checked… what made this war any different?
The punch from the Mirror senshi was expected, but not to much the strength behind it, and he wasn’t a weak man, not by any length, but down he went. He didn’t lose consciousness, thankfully, but it certainly took him a few moments to see straight again, and by the time he pulled himself back to his feet, any chance he had to retaliate for the strike was gone, as Chariklo had left. He pressed a hand to his cheek and winced, before leaving it be and turning back to the lieutenant. “Ugh… might have deserved that…”
He had lost some time to interrogate the officer and he had hoped to make up for that lost time, but the sight of a blonde teen in her pajamas took him by surprise. The lieutenant was no where to be seen, but the girl in her place… he had been on enough hunting trips to recognize that blank expression and the angle of the neck made it clear that the neck was snapped. She was killed, and it was quick… though not likely painless. There was no question where this girl had come from, and Sarras wasn’t going to kid himself.
He had killed her, with his bare hands… it was something that any huntsman should have wrote home about, or a soldier in combat, but looking down at the teenager, knowing that she was only ordered to be here, knowing that she had a report to write…
A report that would never get turned in… or perhaps there was still time? Logically, his brain told him it was too late and that any effort to bring her to the hospital would have just been throwing a bandaid on a missing limb, but he had to try. Even if it was too late, he had to try.
With the fight beyond the doors gone from his mind and the welt on his jaw from Chariklo’s punch went numb, he scooped the teenage girl into his arms and looked for an exit. Whatever the Negaverse had planned beyond the door didn’t matter… saving her life and redeeming his mistake? That’s what mattered, he told himself. That’s all that mattered.

Lt. Titanlåvenite is on the bottom floor
'A Senshi has General Buddingtonite. Detain her... until I come.'
Things were getting well beyond safe, smoke and heat ranging down into the bottom as well as what must be flooded through the upper floors. It wouldn't be worth waiting if he could find the offending party. It was a big if. The burns from the Princess' magic were terrible, but enough on par of a bad session with his Lord training that he was able to function- stand, walk, jog, run- once the spell was gone. It seemed likewise for plenty of others.
"Yes, sir." He shifted to a run, cornering the stacks and looking for tell-tale signs of Buddy. The brilliant crimsons, the distinctive hat, even just the auras of Generals since a few had vanished with their power to parts unknown. It had taken some doing, but following one of the few General aura's left around ended up being a good choice. Running full clip, Titan saw the nameless senshi and remembered her distinctly. Her name didn't come right away, it had been so long, but the feel of anger came immediately. And why.
Coward. Liar.
She can not be allowed to take Buddy. He kept at the same clip and aimed a bear swipe at the girl's head- the hair that peaked over where Buddy's arm was secured over her shoulders to drag the General along.
There had been someone yelling at Liryn to get away (Tsui), but the tabby bobtail had ignored the voice his mind focused on the fact that he had to make the the corrupted eternal (Atë) give the starseed back. The corrupted eternal had been laughing as she held the jade starseed up in the air and Liryn hadn't thought, just reacted as he leapt for her in his half yell, half yowl "Give it BACK!" as he did so.
He collided with her back, claws digging in as he once again cried out "Give it back" hearing the Nega-Senshi yell and something go skittering as he tried to avoid her grasping fingers. He was only a little cat however and so it was likely that she would have been able to grasp hold of him eventually, but then an additional factor moved in to make itself a part of the equation as a pale rainbow (from Iris) lashed out towards them.
No Liryn immediately amended Towards her, towards the bad senshi. Still Liryn would have kept up his perch, or at least tried to, if not for the fact that at that moment as the Princess with the Rainbow magic focused on the Nega-Eternal, another senshi with a super aura (Metis) with another guardian cat on her shoulder (Thetis) who appeared to be approaching his senshi. In other circumstances he may have recognised the black cat on her shoulder as one of the cats who had been in the park and had been by the silvery-furred mauvian (*********> who had turned herself into a mauvian senshi.
Instead as Liryn sprang for the ground and left the Corrupt Eternal to the Princess, his attention was fixed more on the super senshi than his fellow mauvian and in particular on the glimmer that the super senshi held in her hand.
He reached the trio (his senshi, fellow mauvian and the super) in time to see the Super senshi push the object in her hand against the downed eternal's chest and hoped that she wasn't too late late as the jade starseed slipped back into its owner's chest where it belonged.

Athene is still on the bottom floor and appears to have acquired a Liryn
Awakening from the blackness felt sort of like swimming through fog, for a moment Athene able to do little more than stare wide-eyed and a little blankly as he shoved hair from his face with a pale hand.
What happened?
He had died hadn't he? Atë... Atë had killed him. He had felt the pain from when she had ripped the starseed from his chest and then the pain had stopped and there had been nothing except darkness and nothingness.
Except there was supposed to be white when you died, wasn't there? At least he had always assumed there was supposed to be white and a tunnel - a tunnel leading into light. Or maybe he had read that last bit somewhere, after all a tunnel of light sounded like something that one would read in a tale. Besides the surroundings looked awfully familiar if a bit blurry.
It took a moment, maybe two but eventually a few things sunk in.
1. His surroundings seemed familiar since he was still on the bottom floor of the warehouse and they were blurry because his glasses were crooked 2. There was a super senshi with a cat (Thetis) on her shoulder peering anxiously at him 3. Something warm was pressed up against his side and purring
He rectified the blurriness by the simple expedient factor of straightening his glasses, Athene peered at the Super senshi (Metis) "You saved my life" his voice was something of a croak as he spoke. Although still on the warehouse floor, Athene shifted to more off a sitting position, movements stiff from pain lingering both from Atë's action and his resulting uncontrolled fall managing to add as he did so "I... Thank you."
This was the second time in the war that he had come close to dying, the second time that he had had to be saved. Unlike the first time however his rescuer had not died in the rescuing and he would not be left with her death on his conscience.
Mayhaps he would have said more, but at that moment his eyes landed on the starseed on the floor and not that far from him.
Starseed?
Right he had been trying to return it and with it on the floor that meant that the owner was still out there and either dying or dead.
"No" Athene hadn't realised that he'd spoken the thought aloud, the voice a protest as he forced himself to move ignoring the slight protest as his movement dislodged the warm thing by his side, his hand reaching forward to scoop up the starseed.
He moved to stand up, but then there was something springing for his direction, Athene recognising the tabby bobtail cat as the one from earlier even as the little cat settled against his shoulder and told him that he would go with him.
"Okay," he told it as he stood, somewhat shakily but he managed it,
There wasn't any time to quibble, the starseed wasn't shining as bright as it had been earlier starseed showing glimmering in hand before he closed his hand gently over it and tried to ignore the fact that it didn't seem to glimmer quite as brightly as it had before "I have to return this" it was hard to tell who he was addressing, but the Super and two cats were all by him so it was likely that they all heard his words.
It felt like longer than he'd liked but eventually Athene found the likely candidate for the missing starseed in the form of an unconscious cream furred guardian cat (Cora) and kneeling before her he pushed the starseed against her the fur of her chest.
"Please work. Please" his voice was a soft, croaky plea as he continued tried to push the starseed against the guardian, not sure what he was doing but hoping that it would work anyway, the guardian cat on his shoulder quiet but assumedly watching on. "Please don't let me be too late."

Athene is also very grateful that Metis saved his life and will be grateful to Iris too
Megrez had seen and heard a lot of things: the rainbow that seared the Negaverse agents, the frenzy surrounding that one general (Bischofite)... but there wasn't really time to think about it. She had this one guy (Pirisite) dogging her now, and she wouldn't dignify his invective with a response. She very narrowly dodged the blow to her side and lunged at him for a body blow, trying to force him more towards the sides of the room where the merchandise was kept. Hopefully that would lead her to something that would hit harder than a punch or an egg. Some people were fleeing, she noticed, but she had a feeling that she wouldn't get to escape unless she took care of this guy first.
Pirisite noticed all the people fleeing, but like, who cared? He would prove himself worthy with the starseed of a senshi or he wouldn't, and he thought his chances of making it through to the next day were better if he did. Besides, girls were small and weak. That was their thing, being small and weak.
So Megrez's aggressive approach sort of threw him off-kilter, and he went stumbling back towards the merchandise shelves. He hit the side of a pallet, rousing a loud rattle as a few loose objects rained down around him. "What the ********," he said, shoving himself back to his feet. "You on your period, girl?"
Posted: Tue May 27, 2014 2:53 am
Megrez had to try really hard not to laugh at that (and failed; a small, harsh chuckle escaped her). Okay, so she really was dealing with a misogynist here. Great.
Her eyes went to the objects that clattered onto the floor. Most of them looked like useless little knickknacks, but something metallic gleamed in the light. Hoping his wouldn't leave her too open, she bent down and reached forward to pick it up. She came back up with a rather long kitchen knife. Yes, this was much better than a punch or an egg or even a plate. Perhaps she could inflict a few wounds on him and then escape. Once again, she lunged, hoping to give him a minor flesh wound.

She'll probably go to stab him next post, if that's okay!
Ganymede is on the third floor, preparing to leave!
'What was that?'
Ganymede was still standing with the light cleared.
It happened so quickly she lost track of everything. One minute Avalon's hand was in her chest, wrapped around her starseed; the next moment Ganymede could see nothing but a dense golden glow like sunshine, and when it dissipated Avalon was no longer within reach. The adrenaline which had been coursing so swiftly for most of the evening suddenly diminished. For the first time that night, Ganymede was all too aware of the late hour, and both the effort and the energy she'd been expending since first landing upon that store rooftop to confront Buddingtonite.
It couldn't have been very long ago that she'd felt that first flicker of suspicion and chose to follow the collection of Chaos auras that darkened the night, and yet now it felt like hours had gone by. And what had they accomplished, really? One store burned to the ground due to the actions of one of their own, the energy crystals whisked away before they could make any progress in seeing to their destruction, and the only reason they'd accomplished anything here at the warehouse was due less to their own efforts and more to a General's deception of his own people and a youma's deception of her General.
But Ganymede was alive, and her starseed remained in place. Something had happened whether or not she even understood what that was.
Valhalla stepped protectively in front of her, but he needn't expend the effort. One by one their adversaries began to teleport away. A few skirmishes continued around them, but it was nothing compared to what it'd been only a short time ago. Without Avalon's hand in her chest, the greatest danger seemed to come from the fire raging on the floor above.
Gently Ganymede took hold of Valhalla's arm in an attempt to calm him and draw him away.
“We should go,” she said.
She didn't know how to explain what had happened and so didn't try to discuss it. Now wasn't the time or the place. They could figure it out later, when they weren't at risk of being buried in the rubble.
“Let's just grab Auriga and go,” she said. “There's nothing more we can do here. It's over.”
