It wasn't that he was afraid of something painful under the floor.
It was that he wasn't sure whether he ought to be, and couldn't make himself look through the gaping slots between tiles to see what he could make out down there.

Was it just his imagination, or was he actually getting closer? He reached out to feel the next section of floor, and when he found it steady, proceeded with somewhat more confidence.

No, it wasn't his imagination. The gleaming things were definitely nearer. Very nearly within his trembly bony grasp, actually. His pace quickened despite the voice in his head urging caution.

He did it. He stooped and peered into the dust-clouded shadows, waving away the swirling motes stirred up by his footsteps, and he looked at the trio of glowing prizes.
He hadn't meant to make a decision, not really.
But when he touched one, experimentally, it seemed very much as though he could take only that. He closed his fingers around it, and turned again to the door, and the path his own footprints in the thick dust made to it.

]size=11]Igny moved with slow, sagging movements. The burden of the goddesses' gifts was beginning to weigh upon her, slowly crushing her from the inside. It was one thing to kill monsters who meant harm to friends. It was another to kill someone from your past.
She sighed, wandering the other areas that littered the land. The ruins were certainly interesting, yellow landscape a great shift from her blue one. A blessing called to her. She would answer.
Igny boarded the cart with enthusiasm, trying to make light of the situation. This would be fun. A nice, easy ride, free from the terrible thoughts she was creating.
It was not fun. It jerked back and forth, tossing her off as a leaf in the wind. Her body splayed out on the tracks, broken wood digging into her backside. She coughed, part of her soul separating and returning. What was the purpose to this?

Igny rose, moving awkwardly as a rag doll as she shambled towards the coaster once more. She was moving on autopilot. The only goal was to move.
She shook her head. A goddess would not act so lifeless. She had to shake this.

Admittedly, she felt a bit better after riding the coaster. It had been a little fun. Perhaps this park was a blessing in itself.
Swings were a good second bet. Alone she swung, round and round. Of course, Igny was only pushing herself and not going anywhere at all really. Still, it was fun to pretend.
Seeing as her goal was still unmet, she began climbing the chains. This wasn't as fun as the coaster, but she could feel the goddess working from within her.

The gift shop. She felt a deep sense of longing in her chest. There was someone she should have been shopping for. The name was on the tip of her tongue ...

Perhaps she would buy a toy. She could approach the counter, give over some of her tears, and they would return with a weapon. A weapon would make a nice present for anyone.

Igny wondered what this place was for. She had no memories of strange cars or big swings. It was certainly a fun place at once point. Then again, maybe it had always been like this? She could hardly imagine what the purpose would be of a decrepit old junkyard though.
Still, some things were meant to fall into place as they were. Maybe the park was a reflection of herself. A little broken, but still good for some things.

A brisque wind blew across the part, and Igny shuddered. Perhaps there was less time to be spent on thought, and more on moving.

She finally reached her goal. For a moment, she held her breath, only to let it out as she entered the hut known as the gift shop. It was despairingly empty. She thought she could at least pick up a small gift for someone.
A blessing filled her with its warmth. She understood the goddesses' message. It was important to stay positive.
