"And there's one of the Weyrlings again!" La grinned as C'ross approached, no malice in the expression. Poor C'ross had made a mistake and she had laughed at him once, she wasn't going to do it again. "Dragon oil was what you wanted, right? Any particular scent - oh! Is that from the ring toss?" she had managed to derail herself pointing at the black flit toy C'ross was carrying. It was patchy and small, and it reminded her a bit of Viath. "I looked at that one before I set up my stall...had been hoping to go get it later. Ah well. I'm glad he found a home!" Cheery smile. "So, what can I get you, dear?"

C’ross – Lanakirene's Stall – 3 & 7/16 Marks
…Well. That hadn’t been the greeting that he was expecting.
C’ross blinked and glanced down at the firelizard toy, giving it a proper look. He’d picked it up because there weren’t any good-looking dark blues, and black seemed the next closest thing to dark blue there was, but… The knots on her shoulder said blackrider, didn’t they?
“To be honest, I was just playing the ring toss for something to do and to see if I could win the egg,” he admitted. “Do you want it?”
"Well, I couldn't just take him from you," she began, looking at C'ross thoughtfully. "But I suppose I could trade you for him? A jar of oil for the flit? It looks a bit like my Viath, is why I ask." Viath was an easy dragon to replicate in patchily-dyed fabric, so the uncanny resemblance wasn't that surprising, but still. She had hoped to get her hands on the little fellow.
"Anything special you need? Specific dragon requirements? Scents you like?"

K'yne - I don't even know how many Marks - High Striker
"It gets nasty when it rains here. A parasol's good for that. Probably. Or keeping your delicate nose from burning." Despite the snark in his words, K'yne spoke cheerfully (for him), taking the toy from I'saak without further prompting. He looked it over quickly, fingers sliding over the very nice seams, the shift of colors, listening to I'saak's continued talking. The other man sounded somewhat lost. That, at least, was only I'saak; K'yne felt none of the awkwardness the greenweyrling did. "He looks quite like Psaumith."
He looked back up, that big ol' grin gone save for the faintly upturned corners o his lips. "He'll go on display in my weyr, once I get one. I like him. Did you get an Elli?"
“Sounds fair to me,” he agreed, holding out the firelizard toy to her. He had the marks now to buy the oil and still get himself a decent flight jacket, but if she preferred to have a stuffed flit, then she preferred to have a stuffed flit, and C’ross wasn’t going to stop her.
“I’ll just go with one of these.” He picked up one of the jars labeled for sore muscles, figuring it couldn’t hurt. Maybe he could keep it for after their first flight lesson – oil didn’t really go bad or anything. And picking up one of the premade blends meant he didn’t have to stick around and continue discussing scents and things with a woman who sold… well, anyway.

Lanakirene - Lanakirene's Stall 7 marks
"Sounds good to me!" La said brightly, tying the jar off with ribbon before she let C'ross go. "If you need anything else, I live and work here. I saw you about in the infirmary after the fiasco at the Holdtown. Glad you're feeling better. I'll see you around, I'm sure!" And if he wanted to beat a hasty retreat, La would let him. Judging by the looks on one of his friends' faces when he bought that oil earlier, he'd be getting some interesting surprises in a day or two anyway. "Have a wonderful day!"
And she promptly set to work finding a good place to display her new acquisition.

I'saak - High Striker 2 1/8 marks
He liked it. That was wonderful. I'saak grinned in spite of himself, some of the awkwardness vanishing with that charming smile. "I did!" he said brightly, shifting so he could pull the green flit plush from where she had been clamped under his arm. He showed it to K'yne, tilting the dark teal-green plush back and forth a bit. "No stripes or speckles like Ell has, but I think it's pretty. I suppose I could always bleach them on, too," he said thoughtfully. "There weren't any dark enough to be Nim, so I couldn't get C'ross one..." he paused, then smiled.
"But I got him this, instead," he said, shifting and pulling up his tunic to show K'yne the intricate dragon's head hilt protruding from his pocket. "I think he'll like it."
With Plexith's information it wasn't hard for D'lin to find Ceta despite the somewhat busy crowd. It was good he supposed for the Weyr to have just events..not only for the trading of goods but simply for the stress free atmosphere they brought with them. Or the stress free atmosphere they used to bring with them..honestly, while he was determined to have some fun at the event a part of him, in the very back of his mind, was waiting for the other show to drop, was waiting for screaming..or fire..or rampaging whers.
Yeah..clearly things had been a touch too trying lately and D'lin felt like it was making him paranoid. Well he wasn't going to let his own fretting ruin Ceta's time so he put a smile on his face and gave her a jaunty wave as he approached. "Well what's the verdict?" He asked motioning to her wine cup.

Cetalese - Vintner's Stall
There he was. Cetalese waved back with a smile as he approached her. "It's good. Try?" she offered him her cup for a sip. "I thought we could relax here for a bit and then decide what else to do." Another olive was picked from the tray and she popped it into her mouth while she waited for him to taste it.
Narisa's exclamation over the sparkling wine drew Cetalese's notice. D'lin saw Narisa more than Cetalese did, but Narisa had been one of Ceta's fellow Weyrlings. She smiled and leaned forward to see around the few people between them. "Hello, Narisa. How are you?"
Orlina - Wandering through the crowds 2 Marks
How in Faranth's name was one little girl supposed to find one little boy in a crowd this size? Orlina had thought she would have found her best friend by now, but even with Star and Soot scouting out from above, they hadn't been able to locate Zarike. She knew she should've checked the games first instead of the food!
A whistle called her firelizards back to her, but their calmly whirling eyes said they had made no sightings yet either. Orlina's face crumpled briefly into a frown. He was here. He had to be! Well, she might just have to try to be more direct. It wasn't like Zarike would care, and then Orlina could get to having some fun.
"Star. Find Zarike." She held her Gold's gaze steadily, picturing Zarike in her mind. "Find Zarike."
With an agreeable whistle, Star took to the air and winged off. Orlina looked at Soot for a moment, and her just-barely-an-adult flit tilted his head back at her. With a smile, she lifted her arm so he could clamber onto her shoulder and set off.
"Zarike! Zariiiiike!" she turned her head, looking for any attentive parties who weren't adults casting her surprised and disapproving looks.
Shards, there she was! And she was beautiful, and...at the vintner's stall. Shells. Maybe he should have gotten the wine, after all! Too late now, though. He turned on his heel, hoping to avoid her notice, and made his way back to the smith's stall. No more stalling, he was really going to get her something!
"Sir," he acknowledged respectfully. "How much are you asking for that masterpice of a dagger? Or the brooch?"
He doubted he'd be able to afford the former, but maybe the man would take pity on his plight.

Siata - NPC Leatherworker Argo
3 marks now
"You wound me to the very core. It's a sad day," The wherhandler grinned back a him when he chuckled, shifting slightly to grab at her marks with her good hand. When she handed them to the Crafter, Siata paused and offered him a lopsided smile, fainter than the grin. "Can I give you my measurements? I had them taken before I came out here, just in case, but it's rather difficult for me to get in and out, with the sling and ribs and all. And that is very nice of you, thanks."
"Of course," the crafter replied with a small incline of his head, "that would be no trouble at all. I'll have it done for you within the sevenday. Where can I deliver it to for you miss...? My name is Argo, by the by."

V'lay - T'ni's Stall
1 1/4 marks
"Three and a half, then," V'lay said, counting out the mark pieces and passing them over to T'ni. "It's worth it, and I hope you find a good home for that little beauty," he added, nodding in the direction of the bush. He wanted it - definitely wanted it - but fair was fair.
Although apparently a savior had come to his aid at the last second in the form of a Benden brownrider. V'lay startled a little "Oh! Thank you, F'itz - that's incredibly kind of you." Kinder than he had any right to be, since V'lay had abandoned him quite thoroughly during the escape from their old home. The rider pushed that thought aside and gave a half-bow to his fellow Bendenite, fixing him with a genuine smile. "It's a wonderful offer, but I think I'll leave it for someone else. I'm sure there's plenty of other people around who'll appreciate it. It was very kind of you, though," he added, doing everything he could to avoid coming off as defensive or offering any offense to F'itz.
"I think I might go look at other stalls for now," he said, scooping up the roll of tools and slipping it back into his belt-pouch with the remaining marks-pieces he had. "Would you mind if I left the tree with you until I'm done browsing?" he asked T'ni.
F'itz nodded slightly to the blue rider, content for the offer to be turned down in a friendly manner. "You're welcome," he replied with a small smile of his own.
"Oh, I do hope you have fun," T'ni said with a smile, "I'm hoping to get around myself a bit later, but if I go I'm having a friend watch the stall for me. Your tree will be waiting here safe for when you return." As she spoke the wiry woman took a small piece of card declaiming 'SOLD!' out from behind the stall and placed it in the tree's pot. "A lot of people collect later," she confided, "they're cumbersome to carry around!"

Adi - Y'or's Stall
"They will!" Adi agreed, returning the grin. "Our whole wing'll be jealous, I bet." She accepted the chalk and slate, and carefully wrote down Mazamath's measurements - finished with a little heart at the bottom - for the trader.
"This is going to be awesome," she declared, all but dancing in place. "Thanks, Y'or!"
"I bet they will too!" the trader-rider laughed, accepting the slate and sliding it safely under his stall. "And it's my pleasure, I'll have it done in no time for you and I'll send my flitt Squeaker with a note to you once it's ready. Have fun with the rest of the gather!"

Iafri - Argo's Stall
5 marks
Iafri was distinctly uncomfortable. Not just because of the large crowd of Weyrfolk, but because this was the first Gather she had attended without intentions to steal anything. Granted, she'd never liked picking pockets or sneaking off with a vendor's wares while one of her brothers distracted them, but she'd still done it, and trying to escape the notice of stallkeepers was still a habit. She moved with her head bowed and her hands shoved in her pockets, as though that would stifle any other old habits.
You would never do that, now that you have a choice, Girofleth assured her, carefully monitoring and supporting her rider as always. But you really should buy some clothes, ones without patches. You will feel better! The green was not an appearance-conscious dragon, but she did recognize that her borrowed or old, many-times mended clothes did contribute in a small way to how out of place Iafri felt at Trine. It would also be good for the girl to use the marks that she had earned honestly and buy something, clothing or otherwise, and have something that was truly hers.
Reluctantly, the greenrider shuffled to the nearest stall that looked to be selling clothing. Oh, but it was leather, bodices and boots and, oh, flight gear?
No, myIafri, you have that. Get something that you think is pretty, or interesting, or fun. Get something that you like.
"But I don't know what I like," Iafri muttered under her breath. As she glanced back at the wares on display, her right hand found its way out of her pocket so that she could chew on her fingernails. The bodices were nice, and they always looked so pretty on other girls, but...but she'd have to actually talk to the stallkeeper first, and he was already helping someone. A very big someone, in fact, which made interrupting that much less appealing.
Don't be silly, he is there to sell things. Be polite, and he won't mind.
Heeding her dragon despite being terrified, she took a deep breath and asked, "E-excuse me? How much are th-the bodices? If...ifyoudon'tmindmeasking."
Turning from Siata, Argo offered his new customer a small smile. "I don't mind at all young lady," he said, voice deep and soft. "The bodices are two marks each. Please feel free to handle them if you would like to."

Narisa - NPC Vintner Stall
{Current Marks: 10/10}
Her face was tight and drawn, showing lack of sleep and the stress she'd been under the past few days. But she'd managed to clean up and put something pretty on. It was a Gather and she couldn't just show up in breeches and a light weight shirt! No, she was wearing a nice dark blue dress with golden thread embroidered into it. The designs were almost like stars or mini suns. The dress was something she'd had for some time, a gift from her family. The embroidery she'd had added. For Cepheith.
Sighing, the Junior Weyrwoman stood among the others of Trine, listening to Wingleader Kleos' speech and feeling like the pit of her stomach was going to drop. Again. Narisa briefly closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer up to Faranth herself to watch over those dragons and their bonded who were recovering. And to take care of those who had not made it.
Once the speech was over, Narisa weaved her way through people and headed towards the craft stalls. She needed a distraction from everything currently occupying her mind - the most prominent being her dragon, who was still a little achey but almost completely healed - and what better way to do so then look at what the people of Pern could produce? She skimmed this or that stall, glancing at the nice quality of clothing here, or the finely crafted jewellery there. Ah, but it was (to no one's surprise) the vintner stall that drew her attention first. She smiled, unable to help having the urge to stop by there. After all, she'd grown up in the craft and always enjoyed having brief moments that reminded her of home.
"Good afternoon crafters. Might I steal a glance at what choices you've brought with you today?" Narisa asked kindly, looking the pair over. Not anyone she recognized, but even from this side of the stall she could smell the familiar lingering scents of the grapes and other fruits used to make the wines. "Oh goodness! You've got some sparkling wine?" Oh it had been ages since she'd enjoyed a finely brewed sparkling wine!
"Junior Weyrwoman Narisa!" Kallnar looked startled for a moment but then beamed with pleasure and smoothed down his hair.
"Good afternoon to you, and welcome to our stall, please do feel free to look around as much as you like!" Kay added with a bright smile of her own, both of the vinters had a great deal of respect for gold riders. A gold rider who had come from their own craft? Twice as good!
"We have indeed!" Kallnar continued. "This is a new vintage Weyrwoman, thus far only tested by ourselves and the others at the vineyard. It's not named yet... perhaps if you approve of it you'd like to think of one?
"Can we tempt you to a sample? A glass on the house for you Weyrwoman," Kay concluded, well concluded until she spotted the wingleader anyway. "Oh, good afternoon sir!" she said with a bright smile.

"Hello rider!" the master acknowledged cheerfully. "The dagger is going for ten marks today, considerably below what I'd usually ask. The brooch is five marks, again you'll not get that price again after today I'm afraid! Do take a closer look if you'd like, you can pick them up if you want to." He doubted the young man could afford his dagger but he liked it when people appreciated his things even if they didn't or couldn't buy them in the end.

Iafri - Argo's Stall 5 marks
Iafri wasn't sure what exactly she'd been expecting, but it hadn't been to be smiled at and called 'young lady.' She returned the smile with a fleeting one of her own and reached out to gingerly touch the bodice. "T-two marks?" She swallowed and bit her lip. As someone who'd never had her own money before, that seemed like a lot. After quickly consulting with her dragon, who, as always, encouraged her to speak up, she did so...albeit very timidly. "I was h-hoping to have enough left for an outfit..."
And now she was hoping he didn't get annoyed and run her off. She stared down at her feet and fidgeted.

Set'al - Ingar's Stall 5 marks
"I was afraid of that," Set'al said with a rueful smile, eyeing the dagger one last time. He would have liked to get her something as useful as it was pretty, but apparently this was an either-or situation. "But I at least had to ask."
"The brooch, though...I know it's a long shot, but any chance you could come down just a little? It's, well, it's for someone special, and I'd like to have enough left to get her a flower, too."

Adi - To Argo's Stall 2 marks
Adi could only hover at the ring toss, eating her sweets and hoping for a friend to come along, for so long before her attention drifted away from the awesome prizes and her inability to win them. She could have kept playing, but there were so many stalls to visit still, and so many things she might want, including ribbons, that it would be better to save her remaining marks instead of frittering them away on games. Besides, if she didn't find anything she wanted, she could always come back and fritter away her marks later!
As she returned to browsing, however, something much better than pretty ribbons caught her eye. Was that...? It was! "Siata!" she exclaimed, bounding over to where the handler stood speaking with a shopkeeper. Her blue flit, disturbed by the sudden burst of movement, fluttered up and winked away to find a less exuberant perch. "Siata~!"
The bluerider bounced around like an eager canine, desperately wanting to hug her friend but recognizing that it was probably not a good idea, what with the sling and all. Shards, she really didn't look so great, but she was here. So clearly she was alright, or on her way to being alright, right? People were not allowed to not be okay, because that was scary.

Narisa - NPC Vintner Stall {Current Marks: 10/10}
"Thank you very much. I definitely intend to glance around your stall." Narisa smiled at the duo, feeling a little sheepish at the hint of startlement she'd seen in the poor man. How often did one of the Weyrwomen come to visit a vintner stall, anyways? But she was of the craft and liked to check up on it when the opportunity was available. "I must admit, I'm very glad to see your stall here. Reminds me of home." She confided before moving slightly to admire the bottle currently on display.
"Really? A new vintage?" Narisa delicately picked up a bottle, sniffing at the wine before setting it back down. It smelled wonderful! "I am quite intrigued! Tell me, what is your opinion of it?" She asked curiously, always appreciating hearing what the brewers had to say about their latest creations.
Their offer caught her by slight surprise, the surprise clearly showing on her face before she hid it and beamed at the siblings. "I would be honored to tasted a sample of your fine vintage." And she was fairly certain she'd enjoy it. There was definitely going to be one of those bottles being added to her private collection! But before she could say anything else, someone was calling her name and the voice was familiar. Glancing over her shoulder towards the source, Narisa grinned and waved once she spotted the culprit.
Which was probably a spout of lucky for a certain other bronzerider she had yet to notice. Yet.
"Cetalese!" A pause as she recognized the man with her. "D'lin! It's nice to see you both. I am doing well enough." She said with a smile towards Ceta. True she had not gotten to know Cetalese well yet, but D'lin liked her (or more than liked her she suspected) and Narisa trusted the bronzerider's judgement. And Ceta was sweet. "How are the both of you fairing?
R'an - Leaving Ring Toss - approx. 2, 1/4 Marks left?
Once he was done and had collected everything he had asked for, he held the stuffed Fire lizard to his chest while he carried the new notebook and other items with him in his satchel, happy that it could hold everything, while he wore the leather bracelet, he had gotten. He was quite finished now. And the crowds were getting thicker.
Feeling a quite rumbling in the back of his head, he knew Syriacuth was awake. 'Are you done?' The dragon asked in a sleepy tone.
'Almost, I got you a present, something to cuddle with.'
Syriacuth's curiosity filled R'an and he smiled as the dragon made a strange noise. 'I'll be too big to cuddle with anything soon.' That made R'an laugh as he headed to the feast area to sit down and listen to some music from the harpers on stage. 'That's the point, you can hold this in your paws and it'll be your little buddy.' The dragon, though R'an can't see it, snorted in amusement. 'If you think so mine. I'm going back to sleep now.' R'an was alittle sad at that. The numbweed made Syriacuth so sleepy and it worried his rider, when would he be healed? It wasn't threadscore, but broken bones took so long to heal, would it heal in time to learn to fly? Or Go between?
R'an sighed as he sat down heavily, humming along somewhat to the tune of the harpers. He always enjoyed Gathers, but he was so awkward about being around this many people. He looked around, seeing the crowds of people walking to and from the stalls and the games. His eyes caught sight of the many different colors of the dresses and cords of dragonriders and holders alike.
Maybe if he just stayed here alittle while, he'd find the courage to walk up and start a conversation with someone.
