Calder never struck final blows, and he felt bit giddy as the creature vanished. "Yay." He managed weakly, before he slumped down to his knees.
As for a suggestion as to what to do next, he had an idea. "How about we just.." He leaned to one side before laying on the floor. "...take a nap."

And that was it, it seemed like the last few pokes had sent the Rat King on his way, or maybe he was already going when he first crawled into this corner. "Too many questions... and no little penguin or nutcracker doll will have the answer," she mumbled.
Sammy shook her head as she moved over towards Calder giving the Kelpie a shockingly gentle nudge with her boot compared to her past actions towards the boil.
"Up and at em Seaweed." She turned to Alwine nodding to her as well. "Folks we aren't done, I left a while back and came back to find you all fighting this rat again. Well it turns out we have a couple of problems."
Arms crossed again as she started to pace across the stage talking loudly so others could hear. "For starters, where stuck in a barrier. The whole school grounds, are stuck in a barrier. You can't get through it, and it extends up into the sky. Like a giant snowglobe if you ever saw one."
Finally she paused in the middle, "The bigger problem, is that the creatures attacking us have also been attacking the school Infirmary and Cricket is no where to be found in it, nor a single pumpkin pill." Slowly she ran a hand through her two toned hair with a sigh.
"At the moment we have no clue where the horsemen are, where any of the teachers seem to be, and we know for a fact the little monsters are attacking the pumpkins in the infirmary. We also need to try and find someone or something that can give us a clue whats going on."
She turned back to Calder, "And that little Seaweed my dear, is why it's not time for a nap."

Alwine nervously crossed her arms, though it looked more like she was hugging herself than anything. "We're trapped in a barrier, and our healing areas are being targeted by JOY-fiends," she repeated, mostly to herself. "I thought there was something strange when I went outside." She turned to look at Calder and Barth. "If they're focusing their attacks on the Infirmary, then taking the wounded there would be a very bad idea, though I'm sorry to say it." Alwine toddled her thumbs nervously, though it would be unseen because Calder was wearing her bandages. "Um, I guess that we should go outside, then. If we fight as many of them as we can, then maybe we can slow them down? But..." Alwine turned, her gaze focused on the ceiling. "But the music has stopped."

"No point taking the wounded at all really. I already searched the place the only thing there are pumpkins to reform at and those are being damaged and destroyed. The process might uhh not work or work poorly if they all get too beat up. Though if you use Barrier FEARs you can stop some of the damage. Too many little creatures get in to physically fight them off."
Slowly she glanced up as well cocking her head, "Weird, it did stop. Is that good?"

...and the music begins again. Suddenly the Rat King takes a deep, hissing breath, and violently heaves itself upright. It's appearance it changing from what it was, and as it surveys the students, one eye glowing with a painfully familiar blue, it opens it's mouth again. THE RAT KING

Status: The Rat King's screech causes 6 damage to everyone in the theatre! Not only is this like a new round, it's like a new fight altogether. So Cumulative damage is reset and your FEAR abilities are refreshed!

Alwine's posture stiffened when she heard the hissing. Slowly, unbelieving, and filled with dread the haunt turned around to face the deranged Rat King.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you hurt our pumpkins anymore..." Alwine's voice quavered.
The cry of the King sent the haunt reeling into the audience. She slunk down into a chair with a whimper and looked at the ferocious beast that had started its rampage anew.

No. No. No.
"NOOOO NOT HER NOT NOW." Her fear flared to life even as the wave of sound washed over her. She staggered and stumbled but held strong. "That glow... I know that glow." Her arm seemed to itch all the more, was it Insanity? Or was she just insane? It didn't really matter.
She leaped into action a blind rage throwing punches aimlessly and wild missing as the Rat King moved away.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU!?"

The frost demon stumbled a few steps back for more than one reason. The Rat King's unnerving piercing cry aside, it was that blue that shook her. Were they here? Were they working with Christmas Town now? Edel balled her hands into fists, nails digging into her flesh. Don't panic, she told herself, attempting to keep her cool.
Stay and fight? Or find a teacher? The frost demon was inclined to neither of those options – both had not worked the last time. The ghoul's heart raced as she looked around, desperately, to find the patchwork boil. And while she was at that, might as well take the time to dish out some damage and help to bring the corrupted Rat King down... as soon as possible...
Six ice blades flew out towards the towering figure, slicing the creature at the hind.

Moure had been about to follow Edel out when a cat had thrown up near him. The patchwork had been forced to take a different path, and by the time he got around to where the frost demoness had been, she was gone. He scowled back to the rat thing. Welp, not much to do here now. Their enemy had collapsed.
And then come back. With that screech and that glow. He remembered that glow, shuddering slightly when he saw it. How could it be? Was this crazy thing fighting for them? He swallowed, looking around for something to throw at the beast. Then, he saw icy daggers pepper the creature, and his eyes followed their direction to settle on Edel. There she was! Quickly, Moure made his way toward her, picking up a broken prop on his way to throw it at the Rat King. (He wasn't even aiming really, and yet it was one of his better hits. Go figure. Perhaps urgency made his aim better?)
"Edel!" he called as he made his way over. "I'm so glad you're okay. I lost you eariler." He said, slightly sheepish at his inability to follow her out when she'd left the area for a bit. "Are you okay?" He asked, worry playing over his features.

“Ah yes, I had a little chat with Danny earlier,” she said, brushing that aside and looking more concerned about him, “I'm alright, what about you?”
The ghoul glanced around the threatre, counting the number of students in it. There were a number of them but she wasn't sure if they were enough to take out the Rat King together. Getting help in the meantime would also pose danger to the rest. Once again, the frost demon wasn't sure of what to do and felt extremely frustrated.
The ghoul glanced back at Moure, conflict still written all over her face. “What do you say we do?” she asked, because she honestly needed an opinion.

Alwine looked at the situation, then wondered aloud: "Have things stirred back up outside? Maybe the barrier... I'll be back!"
She called to no-one in particular as she ran outside for a moment to scout the goings on.

Well, that was it. Unsettling injuries aside, he wasn't sticking around for more of...that. Even for research purposes.
He felt a certain affection at hearing Calder declare he just wanted to nap.
Christof dragging Calder, however lovingly, wasn't acceptable.
"Carry him," Barth said, wrenching himself from the seat and towards the ever-distant theater door. "He's been run through too. We should...head back to my room. You- you don't mind if I lean on you a bit, do you?"

Christof grunted, nodding his head anxiously. He really needed to learn to stay by them before both were irreversibly killed one day. Lips pursed, he turned to the limp Calder, and carefully hefted him up onto his sloped back. Calder was.... a lot heavier than he looked. But Christof was also bigger than he had been last year. Somehow, through the magic of leverage, he made it work. Barth leaning wouldn't make too much of a difference, but they would be slow-going, and at least he was still able bodied.
He glanced around, for any sign of Amrita or that fishy ghoul, but was left praying they had found refuge somewhere. If not... once the two were dropped off, he could go looking for them.

The discussion about where to go and about not sleeping now was ignored by the kelpie, who continued to lay there. Moving was painful, and he only rolled when Christof came over to haul him up. Hissing between his teeth, he settled against the Igor's back, breathing in the smell of chemicals and turned dirt. It was a smell he found more and more comforting and familiar these days, and he held to the Igor as he left.

Slowly students slipped away, for rest, for personal reasons, Sammy didn't know. All she knew is that she was feeling very alone, and very worried. Afraid even, of what the rat king was becoming.
Her initial outburst had passed and she turned to face the rat again fist shaking ever so slightly as she held them up ready to guard. "Why won't you die? How many times are we going to do this..." She continued to hold her fists up like a boxer waiting for the first strike. "Are you made of JOY? Or is t hat really what i think it is in your eyes. That blue glow... are you like them too?"
