The spell thinned again as she worked her magic to spread over the streets where she had felt the presence of Shaden and smiled, her face showed a little extertation at the task at hand, her arm still rested on the Dragon's, slightly pleased that he didn't pull away. Though she could guess it was because she had told him of her struggle to keep the magic up, she none the less apperciated him for standing with her regardless that she well...was so pushy to him. She'd have to reward or give a gift to him in return for his kindness.
"Thank you Cruor." She wispered back at her friend, "But I won't spend what magic I can if I don't have to. I want to make sure you will not be burdened with the worry while doing something this frivolous with me." She gave him her usual soft smile before hastiley looking away. Her gaze met that of Shaden's and her smiled turned to a more amused one.
"Yes, A wisewoman is quite the title for one of my age but...It is nesscary in these times. I showed the most promoising and potent magic of our tribe after all and well...There aren't many wandering tribes now, even other tribes have recognized me as such..." Gravy chuckled at that, "But enough of me, I am sure that it is quite dull to know anyways." At the mention of the magic, she cocked her head before a purple glow emenated from her. As she faintly glowed, so did her invisable netting near to her, thousands of purple threads seem to flow freely from her body out in the street as her violet eyes shined with her power. "Its not a simple spell for the ones who don't have the gift for those who see. This is why I am brought here to Lumena instead of ailing the ones plagued with seeing of dreams and nightmares." Her hand tightened on Cruor's as she quieted the spell down, it was difficult to pull such strong magic back after activating it but she squelched the discomfort. "Ah, I would love to steal you for a dance Shaden." Gravy smiled warmly at the girl, "Though I must say that I am only a adequate dancer, I will try my best not to step on your toes."
Her eye's turned to the small boutique he picked out and her face illuminated with excitement. "Yes Cruor, that is a wonderful shop for you." She took his hand and then Shaden's in hers, pulling them forward like a child to a toy store. The bell rang as the group entered the small door and they were greeted by a finely dressed attendant. After waving him off, she let go of Cruor and still held Shaden, turning the other girl with her to stare at the Dragon.
"I think a traditional outfit would be most suiting of him, do you think so Shaden?" She tugged at her friend, "Something perhaps a black color, so we don't overwhelm him and his pride?" Her eyes winked over at the light blue suit for example and then to the ruffled purple costume like one in the corner. meaning that those were probably to the Dragon's distaste.

Cruor felt more content to listen to the conversation than they were having than to actually engage in it himself. However he allowed Graveyard to see a small, barely-there smile tug at his lips in reaction to her thanks, his eyes darting to her face and then back to the street before them. It was strange that he felt more on-edge when being faced with shopping than he did when being faced with any Witch Eater. Give him blood and violence any day but he was nervous about entering a clothing store.
"Good let's get this--" he was cut off when Graveyard took his hand and pulled them towards the store, stumbling a little. "--Over with."
Once they were inside he grimaced a little, leaning away from the shopkeeper as much as he could before relaxing as Graveyard was kind enough to shoo them away. Shaking his head Cruor glanced at all the various articles on display, feeling even more out of his element than he had before. He wasn't sure how that was even possible considering how uncomfortable he had felt, but he couldn't seem to help shifting nervously from side to side.
"I would prefer something... Less flamboyant and bright..." he murmured, averting his eyes; this was really embarassing. "Why did I let you talk me into this again?"
He watched the women walk off together and, heaving a sigh, he hesitantly followed, shooting a nasty look at anyone who stared at him. It was even more awkward to be stared at in a store such as this than to be stared at in the streets. It was as if he was being sized up in a place like this, as if they were looking for things that they didn't outside of clothing stores. What they searched for he wasn't certain.
"You're not going to make me try on... All of these are you?"

Lumena Town Square || Festival Passage
A brow rose and amused champagne eyes followed the now-clacking skull. "Never fear, sir," Azra'iel's tone was droll; " I do not think I could replace your... unctuous self." Endless repetition had Azra'iel rising mere moments after Ruria had moved to do so herself; easily strolling forward as she did, the angle of his arm automatically adjusting at the light touch of her hand. Laughter danced in his eyes at her antics; she was obviously as socially trained as he.
"But of course, m'lady, the relic shop it is." Looking down into bright ruby eyes, the young man offered a hint of a grin in response to her own. "And of course, a true gentleman would have relieved the lady of her burden as well." He offered his free hand to take her bag, not wanting to just snatch it away from her if contained something delicate she preferred carrying herself. He had learned, the hard way, that, with his fellow witches, this was a foolish move. "I hail from Moonfall, originally, and must admit, am rather enjoying the more relaxed pace of life here. Where did Makai draw you away from, Ruria?" Small talk had never been his forte, but he felt he was stumbling through well enough.
Though he could not keep his eyes from scanning their surroundings as they moved back toward the Square.

Lumena Castle Town - Shopping District Kurt had arrived late for the start of the year at the Makai Royal Academy - only to find out that most of the students were filtering down to Lumena for the Ball. He could have stayed at home and gone to the ball, and moved in when all of the other students were returning to the Academy!
At least he had his room set up this way.
But now Kurt found himself, not two days after he left the city to go to the Academy, back in the city. With a pocket full of money to buy some formal clothing, and no real concerns except the slightly possibility that all of the prettiest girls would have partners at the dance already.
That would be a shame.

Lumena Castle Town - Shopping District Chanda had left the temple just about mid-prayer at the behest of an intrusive mother (somehow she should have known that she would have found her there) and, for once, she was mildly thankful of her meddling when she learned of the witch eater attack the next day. While she highly doubted it would have been her at risk, she knew it was better than to disregard actions that could have, in another context, easily been blessings. Besides, the home cooked meal she received that night easily made up for the barrage of questions (mostly because with a mouthful of food she was limited to curt answers).
The next day she awoke to her brother's face and a wad of cash inches away from hers. "ARISE MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER," Dylan bellowed, "LET US...SHOP!" Shop was said with a large flourish and a yank of her arm. Chanda grumbled sleepily as she was dragged out of bed and continued to grumble as she dressed in layers upon layers of clothes and then groaned audibly all the way to the shopping district and into the store. Normally she would have been thrilled to spend time with her brother, but she knew the purpose of this visit. She knew just what they'd be doing all day: shopping. Shopping for slinky, shiny, slippy, satin, sequined, silly dresses. "Dylaaaan," she whined as she was dragged along faster than her feet wanted to move. "Oh shush," her brother chided as he shouldered open the door to a formal wear store. "All you have to do is pull on dresses, you won't even have to shop I promise!"
Chanda gave a half-lidded glare to her brother and toddled further into the store as Dylan wandered off to the dress section of the store. Still groggy from the sudden waking and then the ice cold weather, the tiger mononoke found herself shuffling to the warmest spot in the store which, by chance, happened to be a scaly mononoke who looked equally unenthused about being here. "Oh," she said while yawning loudly, "sorry...you were just so...warm..."

Lumena Town Square
At the sound of the tiny voice, Salem wheeled on his heels faster than either of his companions could react. Standing behind them was a brightly-dressed and tattooed girl, looking completely confused and completely out of place in the square full of grim men, reapers, and the couple Salem stood with. The one-eyed witchie gazed down at her with an expression that was not quite right, his grin revealing immaculate white teeth that were sharpened in odd places.
“Why, hello, little bird,” said he, his voice carrying a lilting laugh underneath itself, an unsettling sort of cadence. “This is no place, no place at all, not for a pretty little bird like you!” He paused, and indicated the festival passage across the square, where people still hovered, though nothing of the crime remained. Two things held human attention like no other: Free anything and crime scenes.
“Just last night, not several hours past, there was a nasty attack on somebody under that canopy!” He leaned in close, lending his whispers a sense of urgency and confidentiality, on top of shock and disbelief, as if rumor hadn't already spread across town. “They say a woman had her witch's heart plucked right from her chest!!”
He knew full well the girl was majin, could feel it the second she had approached, a void similar to his own raging in her breast. To wander alone, amongst reapers? She must be silly.

Lumena
Ruria glanced towards the area of the crime, meeting the eyes of a detective witch as they passed. He had a worried look on his face, but when he realized she stared, he gave a gruff smile and waved the two onwards. Her grip on Azra'iel's arm tightened a little bit. The crime scene was enough to make anybody uncomfortable, afterall.
"Moonfall, you say? I've been there a few times when I was small. It's quite a busy place compared to Clarus Arbor. That's where I come from. My family owned a vineyard there, so I suppose you can say I come from a somewhat wealthy household. Not that I'm ever going back there! Never!" Her cheeks puffed out slightly as her face held a trace of anger at the thought.
"Mother tried to make her give up magic, she did!" biter purred. "Tried to make her marry a wealthy lad, she did." bitter continued.
"The man I was meant to marry comes from Lumena. I've never actually met him, though." she mumbled. Stupid skulls. "He'd been to our house many times, but I always locked myself in my bedroom."
The store they were headed towards finally came into view. 'Wompee's Graveyard Relics'. Naturally, it had to be a spooky store she had been interested in.

Emeralds were already appraising each cafe that lined the street that both Lea and Xerxes were standing at the moment the latter had agreed to take up his suggestion, trying to pick a cozy looking venue that wasn't too packed with people for them to spend the next hour or so at. Some were in the midst of getting ready to open up for the day. Others looked a little too posh for his liking. The Bittersweet Cafe. Hmm... not exactly a name that would pique his interest, but the place looked pleasant plus there were a few familiar faces that he reckoned were students from the academy whom he had previously shared a class with a few months back.
Lea had been about to point out the cafe to Xerxes for his consideration when a familiar head of long chocolate-coloured tresses and olive eyes came into view. "Good morning Cedar." He shook his head at her posed question, an ear perking up at the same time. "We were just about to head into a cafe to get ourselves a drink and some breakfast. Would you like to join us?" Suddenly remembering the cookies in the bag that he still held in his hand, Lea retrieved another cookie from it before offering its contents to the both of them with a warm smile. "Some cookies to warm the both of you up some..?"

Lumena: Kyu's house
Ophelia hardly had the chance to reply to Theo before he rushed over to check her forehead. His hand felt like ice against her skin, proving her illness. She opened her mouth again to reason with her not being in bed, only to stutter when he insisted she go to sleep.
"I-I t-t-took some cold medicine a few minutes ago I should be fine" she said, rambling as Kyu also began to fuss over her. Unused to the notion of being taken care of, she flustered, settling down on the couch. Her eyes fixated on the floor, realizing she would probably be sick for at least a week, if not more. And the ball was tomorrow night. Knowing her immune system, she'd feel like s**t tomorrow. But the ball only happened once a year, and date or not, she wanted to go.
But at the same time, she didn't want everyone else to get sick because of her. Maybe she could sit in the corner. Watching people at the ball wouldn't be too bad. She continued staring at the floor, becoming oblivious to her surroundings as she tried to plan out how she would spend the ball.
Not to mention what should she wear? She didn't actually own any ball-type gowns. Any dresses she had were geared more towards club-wear and didn't pass her knees. She still had some extra money that she was saving up for two new dating sims that were coming out. But judging by the way these two guys were acting, they weren't about to let her out of the house to go dress shopping...

Xerxes glanced about the square with his eyes darting from shop to shop as he looked for a suitable cafe for them to go to. He didn't know much about the shops around here, so he wasn't sure which cafe was better than the rest. But he guessed that any cafe would do in the end.
He turned as he heard someone speaking to them. "Mornin', Cedar!" he greeted upon spotting her as a bright smile stretched across his face. He shivered at the mention of the cold, like the temperature had dropped a few degrees just by the mere mention of its frigidness. "Quite cold," he agreed. Next time, he would have to remember to bring warmer clothing.
When he saw the bag offered out to them, Xerxes couldn't resist sneaking a hand inside and stealing a second cookie. "Yes, you should join us," he told Cedar with a nod. "And I say we make our way over to one of the cafes before we all freeze out here."

Lumena
Azra'iel frowned at the streets, listening to Ruria and her companions, absently placing his free hand over hers on his arm when he felt Ruria's grip tighten. His parents had stopped plotting to arrange a marriage for him once his magic had revealed itself; he was forever thankful for that. Honestly, his mother had been devastated: but, his father had convinced her his life-path was forever altered and he may be called to serve the Royal family or the Reapers and he could not be tied to Moonfall... well, he did not recall the full argument, he was just grateful for his father's ability to placate his mother.
"I... traveled a bit as well; I have been to Clarus Arbor, but do not remember much other than the quiet. My father is a very minor noble, but he married 'below' himself and took over my maternal grandfather's trading company." He gave an off-hand chuckle. "Perhaps our fathers did business at some point."
Azra'iel restrained a reaction to the sullen tone of her voice in regards to her affianced. He suspected a laugh would not go over well... and the girl had at least partial command over some rather vicious skulls. He looked up at the shop front Ruria had slowed before and blinked in bemusement. 'Wompee's Graveyard Relics' He was aware she had powers over dark magics, he should not be surprised by her choice of shops. Nonetheless, he was entertained.
"I cannot say I have been to this particular shop before;" he stepped up and pulled the door open, gently disengaging Ruria's hand from his arm. "After you, milady."

Lumena: Festival passage / town square
Cedar blinked and shook her head. "I just ate with Kalypso." She smiled some with a shake of her hand. "But thank you for offering, I take it, you didn't pack warmer clothing?" She laughed softly. "But I actually can't... regardless. I need to go and pick up my dress... And I wanted to stop by the festival passage. The bushes were saying something about... " Her voice hushed a bit. "The murder. I want to see if they can tell me a bit more."
"Do you guys want to come, I'd really rather not go alone." She twisted her lips some in a concerned look. "But either way I really need to get going... I should have been at the shop almost 30 minutes ago to get my dress." She waved lightly, not really able to wait for a reply, and she turned to head toward the festival passage. But her quick steps slowed down.
Hesitating she glanced around at the plant life. They all seemed... Frantic. Like they knew something they shouldn't have... And they weren't willing to talk. Just the same... 'You aren't looking for the right person' type messages. She stood there staring and looked around, a few other people bustled by her. And as she looked around, she realized that the pink haired girl with what had looked like skulls wasn't there anymore.

Lea felt a chill run down his spine when Cedar mentioned the word 'murder' with a hushed voice. Talking bushes? He wasn't aware that bushes could... oh. That must be related to her magic then. He couldn't really recall having heard her speak about her abilities prior but it wasn't as if that was an appropriate conversation topic to be casually shared with an otherwise complete stranger. It was too personal a topic to be treated in a candid manner in his own opinion.
The words were already on his lips. Words that would urge the young witch to reconsider what she was doing since this was obviously something out of their league, with all due respect to her status as a fully-fledged witch from the academy, and should be left to the appropriate authorities. After all, what progress could they ever hope to achieve against a culprit that remained elusive to even the Black Hearts and reapers who were considered specialists with regards to handling this kind of cases?
The window of opportunity for Lea to say his piece was already gone since Cedar had already started towards the festival passage after stating her intent. It wasn't as if she was going in that direction solely for the purpose of finding out more about the murder though. She did say that she needed to pick up her dress for the Hallow's Eve Ball tomorrow plus it was daytime and people were bound to be up and about so she should be fine. Right? As logical as all that had sounded to him in his mind, Lea couldn't help but worry about leaving things to chance like this.
"I don't feel too good about her running off on her own like that Xerxes." Lea started, an apologetic look on his face as he all but forced the bag of cookies into the other mononoke's hands in the hope that it might help some in staving off his friend's hunger pangs in the meantime. "Here. You can have these. I really hope that you can come with me but if you need to grab something first, I understand." And with that, the snow leopard mononoke took off with a worried look on his face.
It was only when Lea spotted Cedar in the distance that he allowed himself to slow down to a jog until he was finally right by her side, his hand reaching out to gently touch her shoulder to let her know that he was there as he took a few seconds to try to catch his breath. "... found anything interesting so far?" He asked tentatively as he glanced around the street in an attempt to survey their immediate surroundings.

Talking bushes? His mind played that fact over for a short period before the word "murder" penetrated his thought process. He shuddered and not just from the cold. He had always had a fondness for things of the spooky nature. But real life murder was something entirely different. A fake, toy skeleton popping out of the ground to frighten a person, he could deal with that, but an actual corpse was something that he didn't want to go near. He had hoped that the conversation would remain light and wouldn't stray to the rumors of a murder.
Xerxes barely had time to gather his wits about him when Lea shoved the bag of cookies into his arms. He blinked in surprise at the snow leopard Mononoke as the flurry of words rattled through his brain. "A-Ah!" he yelped after Lea. "Wait up!" He clutched the bag tightly to his chest to keep the cookies from spilling out as he chased after Lea who in turn was running after Cedar.
How did the day turn to this? He wondered as he followed the other two to the festival passage where the scene of the crime was. He felt a chill up his spine as he slowed, glancing nervously around the festival passage. Ordinarily, this place wouldn't seem that strange, but knowing that a murder took place here added a cold, creepiness to it. As his gaze swept around the area, Xerxes noticed a a girl with pink hair walking with her arm linked with a boy whose eyes were golden in color. He might not have noticed them if not for the shop they were entering. 'Wompee's Graveyard Relics,' he read on the sign on the shop. There was a spooky air around the shop that immediately drew his attention.
"What did I miss?" Xerxes asked as he neared Lea and Cedar. Though he spoke to them, his gaze was still on the curious shop.

Again, she tried not to flinch or make any movements that might be mistaken for threatening when Graveyard grabbed her hand and pulled herself and the dragon into the shop. The Reaper's eyes blinked and that feline curiosity of hers began to ignite. Ears perking forward, tail lazily flicking at the tip. Okay. Maybe she could do this after all. She let her gaze linger over some of the outfits she saw, eye drawn towards the darker shades of color. Even as Graveyard spun her to face Cruor, Shaden's eyes traveled over all that she could steal brief glances of.
Finally, she turned her attention to the poor Black Heart about to suffer under the scrutinizing gaze of two females prepared to properly dress him for a ball.
"Traditional? Hmm..." She tapped her chin in thought. "Yes. Yes I think you may be right." Her head tilted a little to the side, ears alert and perked up. "Black or maybe a dark shade of red? Maybe even very dark blue? But of course no purples or sky blue." Shaden's lips twitced as she slanted a look towards Graveyard.
She gave the dragon a solemln look. "I'm afraid you're going to have to try them on..." And she ruined the look with a giggle. "What do you prefer, Cruor? Tight and clingy? Or loose fitting that hugs just right?" Her gaze went between Graveyard and a few clothing items beyond her. Probably none of which Cruor would appreciate let alone try on.
Moving around the Ars Lilium, Shaden pawed through a some of the clothing items to pull out a rather dashing jacket. If you're tastes ran peachy. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is probably not to your liking?" But maybe the cut of the jacket might be? Her tail flicked in her amusement as her eyes roamed the other items for something more appealing.
