"I see it... what- a sandwich?" Nyx said in disbelief. What was a sandwich doing there? Why weren't the lights working? Who put a mine here? Was there anyone here? What was that dead thing? She returned Darwin to his pokeball, not wanting to risk anything happening to the expensive pokemon while they were exploring the questionably safe mine.

TRP stared at the objects on the ground as they came upon them. "...who leaves a lunchbox behind in an abandoned mine?" Her brow knit as she looked around. The people who had left this place had obviously done so in a hurry. No supplies had been taken with them. Everything was left behind, caked in dust and ruined by time.

"well... either someone was careless, or had a reason to drop this so suddenly." She added, glancing over at the others before continuing to the lunch cool, using her foot to kick it over.

Umbreon made a wide circle around the sandwich to follow his master.

At least he wasn't going 'ghner ghner ghner.' There was a quiet sigh, and an "I heard, sir."

The container made a hollow 'pock' and failed to do anything else of interest.

A little way forward the trail began to widen. The rock face looked smoother here, as if a bit more care had been taken to stabilize the area. As the group passed through one of the more well-lit sections, the dim lines of an open toolbox gleamed beneath a burnt-out light.

Someone pinched Aila's bum.

The whole situation was growing more and more ominous and creepy the further they went - not that it was any competition for Tethys, of course - and Claire frowned thoughtfully. It was obvious the miners left in a hurry, but from what? Hopefully they'd get out without finding the source of the sudden abandonment of the mine.

Zeus, on the other hand, seemed impervious to how scary the mine seemed, and he trotted over to sniff the tool box before bounding off further down the path. If there was stuff laying around from humans, surely there must be chocolate somewhere.

It was an uneasy though, that someone had to get out of here quickly for some reason, leaving this place abandoned, with the power still on.
and there was a repeating pattern of dropped equipment. first with the Lunchbox, and now what Faleen could make out to be a tool box.

"Perhaps this is a good sign that there is a way out in this direction."
It was the only way they could go anyway, sparing a glance down at the Toolbox as it was approached on the path,

Aila drew what might have been the deepest, most level and calming breath of her life. No other breath she breathed from that moment on would permeate her with such a deeply satisfying sensation of centering unto herself and her environment. She was calm. She was every calm ever. She was all the calm.

"Revenant." The ghost-type, on hearing her name, listened with a momentary increase in attentiveness. "When I give the cue, do something violent to whomever is immediately behind me." A warning that, hopefully, would be heeded. She wasn't in the mood for unnecessary antics.

More hopefully, they would be out of the cave soon. So hopefully.

"Could be," Aulus replied to Faleen's words, scowling darkly as he continued to scan their surroundings, "best guess we've got I suppose." He didn't like this. Everything had just been dropped. There had to be a good reason, a seriously good reason to drop your lunch like that; when you worked a hard physical job meals were serious business.

In and out of shadow. Here the rock face darkened, a tunnel gaped to the side. A steady 'pock pock pock' echoed from the darkness.

The air flowed in Aila's wake, unimpeded by any presence. There was a steady glow up ahead.

Hopefully the exit would be just up ahead and they could finally just get the hell out of there. At Aila's sudden orders to Revenant, one of Claire's eyebrows rose. "Aila," she said, taking a couple larger steps to close the distance between herself and the smaller agent, "what's wrong?" After all, she had no desire to be violently attacked by a Mismagius for any reason.

The steady noises up ahead, while ominous for some, merely meant the possibility of people, and therefore chocolate, so with an eager 'chuu!' Zeus bounded towards the source of the noises. Surely it was being made by working humans, and working humans had food and when they had food, they had chocolate. All the people ever liked chocolate, so it only made sense that they'd have some.

Orion, walked along a few paces behind Aila, humming boredly until he heard the strange pock sounds, and glanced towards the glow... squinting slightly.

"Huh, ya know... they say there's strange things that happen underground. Spritis or something, that like to grab people, and they're never seen again. And then those people join them, and haunt places like this."

She wished they had more than just a best guess, But its the best they had to deal with now.

This aria wasn't safe, even though they had nothing to go by right now, cave ins, wild pokemon, and something chaise humans out of here, and kept them out.
None of this bode well.
Each noise and movement added to the frightening nature of this place, but Faleen looked around, with something of a fascinated look on her face.

They were heading toward a glow, another string of lights she would guess. right now they only had their pokemon to guide them, that limited how much they could see.
"Those are just stories, made up when one doesn't bother to find out what actually happened during an accident." She spoke at Orions... probable attempt to frighten them. "Its more than likely a pokemon, thats all"

The contact was not repeated, and so the cue was not given. Instead there was a question, posed by a familiar voice. "Nothing of consequence," she replied. "Some insolent whelp who doesn't value his own hands, if I had to guess." Ooh, there went all that calm she had worked so hard to gather. Another deep breath. She remembered hearing Aulus claim he would bring up the rear, which indicated he was among few behind her. Retrospectively, his phrasing was suspicious as well. She didn't see the green-haired man ahead of her either, which indicated he was also somewhere there. Now there was a much more likely candidate.

Well, not that it mattered. She'd spent enough time in the company of a certain Drifblim that she was capable of brushing off such minute harassment. More important was the task of removing herself and her teammates from the cave. Orion's remark, however, begged a rebuttal, "I'd say it's more likely that people become spirits when they grab the wrong person." The quip was delivered in a sharp tongue, and she didn't deign to as much as turn to regard the individual she was addressing. She was really sick of that cave. Even the menacing rhythm of some unidentified sound couldn't frustrate her any more than she already was.

"I didn't see anyone grab you," Aulus put in with a frown, "does somebody have a ghost still invisible or something?" He hoped that was the explanation, he really really did. If it wasn't one of theirs it was wild, and if it was wild it might be malicious, and there was a bit pit just over there. Not good.

Faleen looked over when Aulus said that.
Being toward the front, she didn't see what had happened, but when listening she gathered that someone had been grabbed.
"Banette" She spoke, sharply.
She did indeed have an invisible ghost.
a few moments after the pokemon was called the Banette reappeared "Did you go near Aila?"

The Banette blinked, and shook his head.
