When the horse spoke and finally left them with the pendent, it almost seemed too good to be true. Frankly, she was getting tired. While she didn't find a need to eat or drink or answer nature's call for that matter, she wanted a nap. A nice nap by a warm fire, just to help herself refuel.

"This is like a living nightmare," Beta Seven spoke out loud with a shrug, addressing nobody in particular as she watched members from both teams scramble for the pendent. She straightened her legs from where she was seated, wincing a little at the pain before trying to reach for her toes boots, "You know - running for something but never reaching it... Must be some sort of a trick."

Looking at Beta Three and Beta Six, she nodded, "I'm alll for that. Seriously, better one of us than one of those from another team. We worked hard for that s**t to give it up now." She gestured briefly at the pendent before getting up from the ground, frowning.

"Beta Four! You're gonna confuse us with those nicknames!" She yelled; although it was hard to tell if she was upset or amused.

Before was attempting to explain hi naming system to one of the pink members and Three merely shook her head an kept on walking - she'd long ago, or at least it felt like long ago now - decided to stop trying to figure out Before.

She just had to keep walking towards the pendant she told herself..just. keep. walking.

"See even B-7 thinks you shouldn't feel guilty," he replied looking at E-4, "and I'm glad you like Ivy sounds cooler than E-4, ok maybe just only a little cooler." He replied with a goofy grin on his face despite the fact that no one could see it oblivious that B-7's stare was more of her own dislike towards him. Not that he would really care if she liked him or not she was not much of a concern of his, he did what he needed when he left. He would have dragged anyone else on his team who needed help off the to hide in the cornfield to get them bandage rather if they wanted to or not. Dead bodies were useless on a team versus having to take a moment away to reassure their teammates they can help and last longer at their side than just die in haste due to some overzealous revenge driven team.

The horse started to fade sending E-5 to his feet nunchucks in hand, seriously if all you were going to do was retreating into the shadows what was the whole point in getting us to kneel in the first time, what an annoyance.

Taking a couple of steps he paused and then receded back to his original seat on the ground. There was no point in him even trying to snatch the pendant despite all of the words he had said he didn't really have much of a heart to say that there was a good chance that out of everyone on his team he didn't plan on getting out alive. He was already down one medic kit and rather rash in his own ways of handling the nunchucks had caused him to crack his mask, but he didn't plan on going out without a fight that was for sure. He would follow them as long as he could and he would make sure of that.

Looking back at E-8 he gave a bit of a chuckle, "I wonder what happens when no one is able to grab hold of it."

E-12 had remained despondent the through the entire “kneel before me” issue. Now the horse wanted them to stand up and race. When would it make up its mind?

She couldn’t bear to think about it for too long. The one thing that had been circling around E-12’s head since the moment she fell was E-3. The poor defenceless girl who had desperately asked for E-12’s protection was gone, and E-12 couldn’t help but feel responsible. If she’d just made it to E-3 sooner. If she hadn’t abandoned her post to go after the blue team. There were so many ifs and E-12 couldn’t forgive herself.

When the fellow pink team member looted E-3’s body, E-12 turned her head aside in shame. When she gathered the courage to look upon the lifeless body, she was shocked to discover it was gone. What? She quickly searched for the other bodies that should have been littering the battlefield and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Nothing. No one. Not even the person that E-12 herself, regretfully, stabbed to death.

There had been talk, somewhere nearby, of a person coming back. E-12 hadn’t paid any attention to it. It was blue team chatter and it was irrelevant. But what if it was significant? Were people coming back from the dead? The thought of that was enough to revive E-12 from her stupor.

So. The horse wanted a race. E-12 wanted absolutely nothing to do with the pendant, not after what had transpired in their effort to get it. She could see a few people racing for the object, but there were also people opting out, like she planned to do. E-12 stood up shakily and brushed the dirt from her clothes. Probably helps to hide the pink, actually.

E-12 walked over to where E-13 was seated and plopped down onto the dirt to join him. She removed an offending ear of corn that was making her seat less than comfortable, tossed it aside, and said, “So, we’re friends with the blue people now?”

The blood on her knife and on her hands was real. Some of it was hers; the person with the stake had scored a good hit. But more, so much more of it was from the blue team. E-12 didn’t know how long a friendship forged in each others’ blood could last, but if it meant survival for even one more day, she was willing to give it a shot.

She was living for two people now.

The phone at her hip buzzed an annoying reminder of the message she’d ignored earlier. E-12 flipped it opened and stared. Delta. Theta. More teams out there. More people like us. Things wouldn’t end well.

E7 finally made up his mind to actually try for the pendant. It seemed the other team agreed with them. Which was at least a nice thing, they couldn't let the other team get it was right.

So taking a breath he started forward towards the pendant. Hoping that he actually got somewhere.

"Dark Cove doesn't sound fun." None of it sounded fun but that would be like going into 'Scary Forest' and expecting fluffy bunnies and rainbows.

Bix paced a little. Now that they all had a moment to breathe it would be noted that Beta 6 was rather tall, reeeaaaaally skinny and his posture was awful. He seemed to hunch quite a bit and his movements all seemed awkward. He still clasped his BB Handgun and waved it carelessly with each motioning on his hand.

"Maybe if we go to a beach there will be boats. But I doubt that leaving on a boat is any sort of option." He made another snorting sound. Bad sinuses maybe?

"The town may be good for cover or supplies." He shrugged. Bix was not in the habit of leading nor making decisions. He was also distracted by the amount of FAIL happening with the acquisition of the pendant. Even Before's enthusiasm was no match for stupid horse magic.

E7 hadn't gotten vary far, the others talking made him double check his phone messages before continuing. "Lottery?" He frowned that didn't sound good to him, specially at 'dark cove'.

"I'm glad I wasn't called for it." He said after a second, "Gives me the creeps just thinkin 'bout it."

He shook his head looking back at the pendant and started walking again. Hoping this time he got further than the last.

"Not friends," E-13 clarified. "Just a cease fire, on account of recent tragedies, and the realization that there are ninety something other bastards gunning for those slots. ...I'm not so sure how to get to the Cove anyhow, there wasn't a road for it on the map like there was for the other places."

There were a few people going after the pendant, and another few who were ready to get a move on.

"My vote's we go back to one of the tents for now. Then we decide whether we want to stay here and wait for folks to come to us, or if we're going to them. There's no room for guilt until the week's over. ...If there's more monsters with magic powers lurking around, who knows, rules of the game may change again."

B3 kept on walking..until a bot more then ten feet from the pendant she suddenly stopped, oh sure she wanted to keep on going forward but she couldn't and turned helplessly back to her teammates with a shrug before trudging back towards the group.

"Thats as far as I can get" And frankly she wasn't all that sorry for it - imagine how paranoid he would have been if she'd actually gotten ahold of it? She'd spend the next few days wondering who and when one of her teammates would decide to stab her in the back for it.

"There's nothing at the tents though.." He sort of whined as if that realization was a disappointment to him. "The tents could be targets. But I have no better idea and.." he shrugged. The 'and' meant he'd just go where everyone else went anyway.

"Stupid magic horse things!" Another member of their group failed to reach the pendant. It always seemed just out of reach. What was that about?!

"I don't WANT the damn thing!" Which was all just code for 'I don't want to die!' but he hadn't tried yet, so he took a running start towards the pendant.

He only got a few feet before he stumbled on his own gangly legs. Bix let out a shriek of despair before he just stopped, stomped his feet and thrust his hands under his armpits in a huff.

"I GIVE UP!"

After the first shock wave Beta Twelve had been knocked out cold, only coming round to see the pendent hanging mid air, the monster no longer there but all members of both teams trying to reach it first. Pulling herself up she staggered slightly, trying her best to see straight. She would at least try? She had come this far she could at least do something.

With an effort she started to jog towards the pendent, people passing her in blurs as she tried to keep the raising vomit to settle in her stomach. She would need a serious case of a medic after this.

[Kay, not enough even if I get max for the other two rolls. xD Stopping here.]

Beta Seven - affectionately nicknamed 'Boss' by Beta Four (Before) - had been watching and listening to those around her. While she would normally have a remark or two to add, she was beginning to feel rather drowsy - taking a nap, however, was out of the question. Was if she was ambushed in her sleep? Sure, they could always take turns to keep watch and sleep, but the ones closest to you are the ones who might end up being the most dangerous...

Heh, she probably wouldn't be able to protect her teammates from herself.

Instead, after stretching her legs, she stood up and started to stroll towards the pendent. To her surprise, while she was walking normally, she just couldn't seem to reach the glowing thing. It was either magic (the horse-thing had already proved that it could do that) or a trick. Either way, she stopped, tucking her dagger back beside her phone where it could easily be drawn out before turning back, walking away from the pendent instead.

"Guys, since the fog has lifted-"

At last I see the light, and its like the fog has lifted~

... Wait, what? She almost sung that out loud for some odd reason. Mentally hitting herself, Beta Seven recomposed herself, taking out the map she had tucked into her backpack. Unrolling it, she held it out for everyone to see.

"-we will be able to move... I'm not sure how long it'll take, but... Those with balls and wish to follow, I might head for the lighthouse or the town," She pointed to the locations on the map, "From the lighthouse, we might be able to see more, provided its working. The town might have supplies for us... I have a feeling the other teams might try to attack us though."

No more stupid attachments... They don't mean a thing. Not here, not now.

"The E does not stand for effort!" She yelled back to Before, grinning a little from behind her mask. What a weird guy the blue team had. E-4 cast the pendant one last look before jogging towards the group.

She leaned over the peer at the map, listening to Boss speak with a tilted head. "The lighthouse, hmm?" She mused, "Either areas sound fine with me. We'll probably run into other teams, but they're bound to find us if we stay here anyways." It wasn't like they could avoid all the other teams for long (and even if they did somehow, by chance, avoid all the other teams, she was sure whoever was in charge of this game would manipulate them into meeting).

"I go where everyone else goes. I'm assuming we're moving as a whole group?"

"Beta Four is good for certain things," She laughed at E-4's outburst; yes, Beta Four makes a good (and willing too) meatshield. That's all he is... A mere meat shield. Nothing more... She was almost glad nobody could see her face right now; she must look like she lost all her balls. Rolling up her map again and tucking it back into the backpack, she shrugged at the girl's question.

"I'm going to the lighthouse, whether you want to follow or not is entirely up to you..." She was of course, addressing everyone who was listening, "I don't fancy having like... All of you go though. Seriously. Eggs in one basket and all that... If we fail at the lighthouse, at least some of you are somewhere else. Cornfield pride and all that, you know."

Or rather, she did not want to grow even more attached to these strangers. Yes, strangers. She took another look at those who had, for the last few hours, turned from strangers to maybe acquaintances (and meatshields) - Beta Four, Beta Six, even the Beta Ten/X that had helped her attack when it was needed. Yes, she would require luck and balls of steel with her.

"Always enough room for you guys though. We make a killer team and there's over 80 new opponents to fight where we're going," She muttered before walking out of the cornfields. Turning around one last time, frowning behind her gas mask, she gestured at the path that had revealed itself as the fog had lifted, "I'm going. Follow if you wish... Good luck with that pendent, by the way..."

Beta-7 and Beta-4 were the team mates he'd spent the most time with thus far. Bix wasn't going to be left behind. Before may not yet have said anything, but he was sure the outspoken team member would certainly be following his Boss.

"I'm with Boss. I.. well.. I know what's back at the tent. Nothing. And a tent is a big blue target for the other teams to point at. Maybe at the Lighthouse we can get the lay of the land."

Bix gave a quick tug to Before's arm and nodded his head in the direction that Boss went. Hopefully he'd follow. A few of the Epsilon's seemed reasonable as well. Maybe they could come.. and be big PINK targets in case enemies showed up.

"Good Luck.." he snorted his nose with another sniffle. "For what it's worth."
