Thunder rumbled in the distance and the sky over top of the mountains was stained a deep, darkening grey. Khairi brought his head up and caught the scent of rain along with the more acrid smell of lightning in the cool breeze that rushed past. He stood still for a moment, watching the thunderheads as they advanced inextolerably towards the plains where he stood. Then with a sigh he relinquished his grazing spot and started up the nearby trail at a smooth canter.
Khairi didn't get far before the storm hit, but he did make it to the relative shelter of the forest before the sky opened. Thunder rippled across the sky and was immediatly answered by a flash and a downpour. The blue stallion's light coat quickly became soaked, staining it to a darker, greyer blue. However, the storm was gone as quickly as it came, leaving behind nothing more than swollen streams and sparkling leaves.
Stepping out of the forest, the young stallion shook out his coat and pricked his ears. He watched to road, wondering if any others had been unfortunant enough to be caugh out with him.

Rahu was soaked from the suddened down pour of ran. bolting through the clearing to the forest, he caught sight of a young stallion who was a odd color. snorting he slowed down and started to go past the stallion. he had no time to yack to someone, he wanted to find somewhere to drie off and rest for a while.

The sound of hoofbeats on the quickly drying earth was the only warning Khairi recieved before a tall black stallion bolted around a bend in the trail. As he approached he slowed down, but he didn't appear like he was going to stop. The young stallion hesitated a moment before stepping into the road, not exactly in the other's way, but still an obstacle. He hadn't met this stallion before, and curiosity overcame any caution he might have exercised.
"Caught in the rain, were you?" Khairi grinned wryly as he glanced down at his own wet body. "So was I. Unlucky."

Rahu stoped in the rain and looked at the stallion." yes and i would rather be on my way out of it, rather than yacking with you." snorted he started past him in the direction where he remeber a cave, he usual slept in. shaking his mane, he really did not want to stay in they storm.

Khairi was slightly taken aback, but continued doggedly. Overhead the clouds were breaking up, creating a land filled with sparkling water.
"The sun will dry you faster than anything else will, you know." He said, easily keeping pace with the ornery stallion. And I'll pretend your rudeness is due to the soaking you received. Khairi shook out his mane and continued. "C'mon. What else do you have to do that's so urgent?"

Rahu stoped, shaking his mane and looked up to see the sky clearing a bit. snorting he turned to the stallion. " true enough. then before doing anything else, who are you." it was geting rare he ever ran into anyone he did not already know. though save for the fact he did know some foals who where annoying.

Khairi's grin widened when the stallion finally stopped. He wasn't sure about the stallion's attitude, but he wasn't worried. What could happen, they'd fight? Khairi felt a burst of excitement at the thought.
"I'm Khairi." He bowed his head slightly, then eyed the other male curiously. "Who're you?"
Already he felt the sun warming his flanks, and while the heat was nice, he could tell it was going to become unpleasantly warm once he was dry. Part of him wished the storm had stayed longer.

Rahu looked up at the clearing sky as it warmed and glared at it. if it got too hot, he would be pretty misserable cause his blood red black coat. turning back to the stallion, he eyed him for a moment. " i'm Rahu. and if we wish to get drie, i think a walk would do it." startign to walk away back towards the meadow where the sun was really out, Rahu figured Khairi would ether follow or decied not to.

For a moment the blue stallion hesitated, slightly put off by the other's chilly manner. Shaking his head at himself, he trotted after the black stallion and came up next to him. Slowing his pace, he studied Rahu for a moment before speaking.
"It is nice to meet you." Steam rose off his back as the water evaporated. The woods were filled with a warm dense mist. "Where are you from? I haven't seen you around before."

Rahu kept walking, and wondered why on earth he bothered to ask for company. " that would be cause i wander about." pondering wether to say where he was from, he decided not to. " i really doubt you need to know that." though actualy anyone could tell he was from the desert and was use to running for long distances, by his musled form that barely showed with his dark coat.

Khairi shrugged. He'd half expected to be refused an answer anyways, so it wasn't a suprise. Since the other stallion didn't ask, the young male decided not to volenteer any information about himself.
"You wander." Khairi thought about that for a moment, remembering his journey to get here. Wandering wasn't something that appealed to him anymore. "Then you must have met other Soquili. Maybe you've met a little colt, a... Kalona, I believe he is called?"

Rahu shruged. " i have met too many foals for my liking. but i have not met a Kalona colt yet." picking up the pace alittle, he was in no hurry to get anywhere and choose a random direction but knew where it lead." though you watch i'll meet him soon enough, and be pestered. but i already have enough going on."

As Rahu speed up Khairi matched his pace. He wasn't sure where they were going, but he was the black stallion seemed confident in his choice of direction, so Khairi didn't dispute it.
"Well, it is spring, after all. A lot of foals are born this time of year." Come to think of it, he'd been meeting more foals than adults recently. "They like you, do they?" Khairi grinned. I can't imagine why. If I was a foal, I would have stayed clear away.
