Cawing and crying out as he was waved like a rag doll, Israfel was sure the seagulls were laughing at him. He had no idea of Alcyone was punching at the thing, causing it wiggle and thrash. It was only meant to drop him.
Which it did. Painfully.

Of all things on this trip, despite having seen the giant fish and the giant squid rear their heads at them, Tsetsiliya had never expected, for a single second, to actually be grabbed up by the squid.

Ashamedly, the first time that the squid had appeared startled the poludnica so badly that she had passed out in a cold faint. What else could she do? It was only by a stroke of luck that she managed to blow up that one fish. She was absolutely useless in the middle of the ocean, being unable to swim and still unable to truly battle.. what a splendid support she was. Then to add to her surprise, she woke up in the grasp of the giant squid. Scars and markings of all sorts stretched over its body, and the angry glint in its eyes made a nervous squeak escape her throat.

As nerves replaced the fog that lay over her mind, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her, and felt something grab for her leg. She squinted at the students who were lunging at her and another student in the squid's grasp, and a wide smile broke over her face as she saw it was none other than the Student Council president, Rain. She was coming to save her, of all people! The zombie's efforts were in vain during the first few attempts, but after another lunge at the beast, Tsetsiliya felt the tentacle around her body slacken, and she was tumbling through the air.

"Aaagh -- !" The cry was high-pitched and nerve-wracked, and she twisted around in midair, hoping to at least land on something that wouldn't break too easily. She did, however, end up landing smack in Rain's arms (even if it was an awkward position - the two were almost nose-to-nose). The girl buckled under her, and with her help the poludnica was back on her feet.

"O-oh! Your leg.. !" Tsetsiliya immediately zoomed in on that predicament, reaching for her sash to at least offer a binding. The squid, however, wasn't waiting, and neither was Rain. The zombie had already painted the war stripes on her face and was turning to face her opponent. Tsetsiliya merely clutched her sash and watched with a worried look in her eyes.

How could she help? What could she even do?

And while he was coming back around, someone else managed to save the Siren before he could. Aksaja winced slightly when Israfel was knocked to the deck by that tentacle - but he was already aimed for the squid so he didn't change course.

Instead, he managed to bring claws to bear, grabbing onto a tentacle and opening up several gashes in it - though it didn't seem to do as much damage as some of his attacks before had. This . . . could be bad.

Pumped up by his success, the lightning dragon was just a bit too slow in getting out of the way as the squid flailed back at him . . .

Ducking as one tentacle swiped for his head, Aksaja completely failed to see the other three that came at him from the side. One slammed into ribs, and he felt an ominous stabbing pain there, crying out and twisting away. Another hit his legs, though, and still another batted him away as if he was a fly.

Barely managing to pull out of a spinning dive toward the water, the lightning dragon managed to make it to the deck of the ship and landed heavily there, stumbling a step or two before falling to his knees. Dammitall . . . had to get up . . .

Panting, Aksaja forced himself up to his feet and then took a running leap off the deck - aiming for the squid again. It seemed that the damn thing was ready for him this time, though - as a tentacle whipped out at him and knocked him right out of the air . . . and into the water.

Oh Jack.

It was if Rain's worst nightmare came true. The tentacle seemed to come at her in slow motion, though she knew it was really happening so fast. It wrapped around her body briefly and flung her over its head and into the water behind. Rain Rottingham was in the water. She couldn't swim! She couldn't float! All she could do was sink and if no one noticed her, she would be a goner for sure. At least she wouldn't drown which only brought a slight comfort. The deeper the water became, the colder she would become and eventually, she would fall into a sleep like state that was more akin to temporary paralysis.

This was horrible!

Just as Aksaja was flailing about a little in the water, trying to remember Yaya's lessons, he saw someone else thrown in too. Oh Jack, this wasn't good. Taking a moment to float and shift away his wings - since they were just in the way like this - the lightning dragon then swam a bit clumsily toward the quickly sinking ghoul.

"Kick with your legs!!" he yelled at her, hoping that would keep her up where he could see her . . . He only hoped he could get them both back to the stupid boat. Fast. Like, before the squid noticed them and decided to drown them or something.

As luck would have it, a tentacle was flailing back and forth nearby her. Her ears were already beginning to clog up with water but she was sure she heard the boil say to kick with her legs. Kick? Kick the squid? She could do that!

Every time a tentacle passed her, she tried to kick at it. Eventually the squid became irritated at her and a tentacle closed in, most likely planning to knock her further away. She prepared herself as the tentacle neared, latching onto it the best she could by embedding her sharp claws into it. From there she simply moved along with it and it seemed easy enough until it randomly shot out of the water. The force of that knocked her loose and she went flying! She remembered liking the way the air felt on her cheeks but the moment was fleeting as her body hit the hard surface of the boat. Her arm and shoulder took the brunt of the impact but for the most part, she just slid across the surface until she came to a stop at the other end. Thank the maggots for railings!

Not a day went by that she wasn't also thankful she didn't feel pain like most students. Of course, such a thing came with a heavy price as she couldn't feel the nice things either. She would never know the warmth of a hug or the pleasure of a kiss. Not really. To her, those things were just symbolic and that made her content enough. It was hard to miss what you never felt.

She coughed up all the water she had swallowed and stuck a finger in her ear to try to clear them out. Then she propped herself up on an elbow to look around. She needed to get her bearings.

Kicking the squid turned out to be a great plan. She would have to thank that boil that had helped her. Where was he? She forced herself up and ran awkwardly towards the direction she was sure she came from, grabbing the rail to peer over at the water below. She looked fervently into the waters for any sign of the boil. Please be okay, she silently pleaded, oblivious to the squid that was still threatening the lot of them.

Boats like this usually had ladders on the side right? If not, maybe she could find a rope but this boat was so big...

She would be unable to exist anymore if the boil didn't make it! His advice had saved her life! "There's a boil still overboard," she cried to anyone that would listen. Surely someone could swim? Something could be done? She hated being so stupid and helpless. She should be able to come up with a plan but she had no idea what to do. Her brain was completely worthless. The only thing she could think of was to jump back in but what were the odds of her being able to catch a ride on another tentacle? No.. she wanted to stay out of the water.

Oh, what to do!??!?!?!

Aksaja was kicking for all he was worth, attempting to somewhat awkwardly rescue the ghoul when she started . . . kicking the squid. Wait, that wasn't what he meant! Oh Jack, she was gonna get smashed . . .

Or. Not. What the hell, that actually WORKED? Okaaayyy so that ghoul was some kind of ninja, maybe. To be able to lure the squid and then grab onto it and actually use the MONSTER to get back on the boat.

The lightning dragon, however, held no illusions that he could do the same. So he just swam toward the boat - slowly, because he wasn't very good at it. Once there, however, he looked about frantically for a ladder, but didn't see one. Oh great, now what.

Then something caught his eye. The rope! The rope that Sin had been trying to untangle was dangling over the side a bit, if he could just get up high enough to grab it. Though it was still hopelessly tangled . . . maybe. "HEY!" he yelled, trying to stretch up and grab the thing. "THERE'S A ROPE!! LOWER IT!"

She was relieved when the boil had called out. She ran over to the area where he and the rope were and tried her best to help Sin untangle it. They only needed to get it long enough for him to grab. When it was somewhat usable, the rope was tossed overboard for the boil and Rain left Sin alone to help him. She went over to try to distract the squid so that it would not notice the demon ghoul trying to rescue the monster boil.

From there, everything went horribly wrong all over again. Another tentacle grabbed at her and tossed her in the water and this time, she was no where near the squid. She twisted and turned and tried to fight the water but she was at a loss. She couldn't swim. If she could cry, she would have. She was going to sink. She was going to miss her mom and dad. She was going to miss Shine. She was going to miss all her friends. She was going to miss her favorite snack.

Rain Rottingham, lost at sea.

It seemed to be her fate.

Well, she wasn't going to make it easy for Mr. Fate. She continued to thrash about in the water, doing all she could to keep from going under too far. She could do a great deal of things, being oblivious to pain and damn near fearless but there was one thing Rain just could not do.

Swim.

(D'oh. She has bad luck.)

With the students attacking the squid, and Winter and Xypher still setting up... something... atop the yacht, no one noticed what was coming.

A shot rang out from where the professor stood, and the squid exploded into a million pieces, all oozing and gooping about the ship.

"GOOD JOB KEEPING IT DISTRACTED STUDENTS!" Winter called out chiperly from her (clean) stead.

Before congratulations could go out, and celebrations could begin, everyone felt it.

The boat.

It smashed into ... something. Rocking about, Winter looked around and towards Cloak, who had appeared on deck as well. The professor was visibly confused before a look of shock crossed her face.

"GRAB ONTO SOMETHING STUDENTS AND HANG ON TIGHT."

Within moments the boat was wrenching through a maze of jagged rock formations. Xypher was navigating the ship to the best of his abilities while the professor tried to tie as much as she could down.

"ALRIGHT STUDENTS, WE'RE ALMOST TH-" the sentence was cut off as the boat suddenly lurched to the side. A large wave came along behind and tossed the boat forwards. Screaming could be heard, all the lights on the boat were out and then?

Water.

You all wash up on a beach, it's dark, you're wet, but it seems your shipmates are with you. Winter and Cloak have gone missing, Xypher is no where to be found...

(( You will all wash up here !!! Prizes for the squid fights will be sent out later tonight!))
