Barth, though noble in his ambition to keep watch over the party from a warm place, was unfortunately not a very good watchdemon.
He was, in fact, working on drifting from a doze straight into a good hard slumber.

Aksaja popped back up then, gasping for breath and looking about wildly. He was JUST ABOUT to start yelling about the ninja in the water when he caught that look in Riley's eyes. Ooooh... she was so gonna get it now. Without any pretense of stealth at all, the lightning dragon kicked hard to raise himself up out of the water just a bit...
And then he snapped his wings out and forward, causing a rather large huge wave to go cascading in Riley's direction ... and that of anyone even close to the water over there.

Alwine didn't even notice Riley lurking towards Barth as she climbed out of the hot spring. She walked out of splashing distance to start to get dressed again.
That meant that nothing was in-between the Lurking Fear and her Victim.

"Ah... Grazie," Malodore said, catching the lighter and flask, making a mental note to keep the flask away from Israfel if the siren showed up. But there was no way it was going to light such an uncontrolled blaze! "Do I have any volunteers to get a fire going?" it asked, mentally tallying what else would be needed. Fuel, kindling, a dry base on which to build the fire...

Riley creeped closer to Barth, lifting just slightly to take a good look in his face and make sure his eyes were closed. She was fully prepared to capture her prey and pull him into the depths, but she had no chance to do so. She was hit, square in the back of the head, with a wave of water like nothing she could have expected - and it slammed her face first into Barth. Luckily, being mouth-less made this situation a lot less awkward than it could have been, and it was more of a painful headbutt than some kind of half-witted teenage romantic affair. She swiveled around to look at the culprit, and glared daggers at Aksaja.
This injustice will NOT go unpunished! She screeched, diving forward and swimming for him. Don't let her reach you, Aksaja. Don't let her reach you.

Or they could get a lighter. That would work nicely. Reluctantly, Jericho pulled his talons out of the water, pausing as Aksaja started to flail around after being dragged down into the water. There was also Riley colliding with Barth... which was somewhat amusing to see. But he turned his attention to the doctor to help out with the fire.
"I'd be more than glad to help with a fire. I'll go see if I can find some fuel. Surely some of the wood around here is usable," he mumbled while stretching his wings.

Uh oh. Time to go! Aksaja paddled backwards quickly before actually turning tail and swimming hell-bent for the other side of the pool. "YOU TRIED TO DROWN ME WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!!??!11!!" he yelled as he swam, looking back over his shoulder. Oh Jaaaaacckkkkkkkkk

Amrita, being carried by Petro, was thoroughly confused by Lizzy's thumbs up and wink. Why was she acting like that? Lizzy was weird. Very weird. But once Petro brought up her heroic lucky hit in yellow door, all she could do was blush lightly and look away (which probably wouldn't help Lizzy's train of thought). As the ever-growing group moved forward and came across a hot spring, the tired and upset Vetala looked on at the antics. That...actually looked like a lot of fun!
Even Tahki was getting in on it! And that extremely brave undead girl from the Yellow Door (someone Amrita was sure was a heroic zombie) was there too! It looked like fun, but...her chest was more or less a gaping hole, and with all this JOY around, she didn't want any of it getting into her system. So no water for her! As sad as that was.
When the Plague Doctor asked for help, Amrita considered helping. She was tired, stressed, sore...she just wanted to sit on Petro like moss on a tree until they got home. But then she realized that they wanted to start a fire. Another fire?! Fire, usually an Undead's greatest fear?! Her greatest fear?!
"No!" The Undead child cried out at Malodore, the terrible memories from the flaming yellow door coming back, making her bury her face against Petro's shoulder again in a rather childish hiding gesture. No more fire, no more fire, no more fire...

It seemed this close to the steam, Christof's brain was starting to feel the healing rings. Immediately he let go of Sin's leg, flushing in horror at what he had done in his delirious state, especially once he saw the hint of black under garment vanish behind spiteful zipper. Oh.... Hell's Bells! Jingleberry? He pulled his aching legs in front of him, listing while preparing to try to stand again- when he discovered the problem. Aksaja had gotten his boots switched, unfortunately with his feet still inside them.
He was dimly aware that a snowman had just leaped into the hot water down the ridge, perking with interest as Malodore gave it's assessment. How interesting! An actual factual *snowmen's grave*? He wondered if any other grave digger had seen such a thing! He hoped Sin had been distracted from his.... leap of desperation, but really her legs were no good to him just then. The elf's arm had proven that much. Maybe he could at least get his feet on properly and defrosted a bit.
The hunchback froze as he got to the edge of the hot spring, realizing the majority of it's occupants were.... scantly clad young ghouls, unabashedly showing off their anatomy. Swallowing thickly, his eyes locked on.... that headless young Ghoul. She had seemed so prim and proper in the warehouse! The long line of her neck clearly showing the direction of her attention, and one could see the muscles working as she spoke, although there was no jaw for them to move, all tucked neatly in a careful bundle of snowgrave stew fleshed skin. His fascination was cut short as she rose to leave, giving him ample view along the way.
He quickly refrained from staring and set about undoing his laces.

With Hadiyya still clinging to him, West had foreseen that he might have had a bit of difficulty with finding a rock, so he was glad when the bear ghoul produced not only a lighter, but a flask as well. Excellent! Now for BUUUUUURNNNNNN... wait. Malodore needed more help? "Wha'other kinduf stuff y'need?" he asked.
Between scowling, shifting away from massive waves of suicide water, and paying attention to Malodore and Jericho, West had little time to notice Riley's stealth attacks, not that he would have done anything to save anyone from them if he had.

Barth found himself soaked, assaulted, and with the backwash of the wave sucked helplessly that extra inch right over the edge of the rock and into the pool.
The weird thing was this was the second time today he'd been kissed by someone without a mouth.
His final analysis: rubbery.
That confusing and wriggly hodgepodge of purple reminded him of something though. Something half-remembered and he had been sort of sleepy then, too. A lot of a very similar shade of purple.
He couldn't fit the old thought and the new thought together properly, though. He floated back to the surface (for breathing purposes) and slowly began to unbutton his shirt to deposit the sopping mess back on the rock, with no intention of doing anything but soaking.
But he was leaving his cravat on.

When Amrita arrived Sammy gave little thought to the matter. It was the girl from earlier in the yellow door, poor thing had it rough like the rest of them when they entered that room. She recalled the fire hitting her like it did Shehk almost. Tugging Tahki along they made the way over to the shore near the girl frowning. "Hey, we need the fire, I mean undead yes tend to not like it, but think about the other students? Think about this fluffy bird here." Reaching back she gave Tahki a pat on the head, who in turn gave a cheerful squawk, probably something along the lines of 'fire is nice!'.
(( Chobi said its cool to do this ; 3; ))

Jamais' eye scanned the area thoughtfully, "I'll help gather stuff for a fire as well. I have no intentions on wading in the water even if it is warmer...."
Her eyes paused on Christof as he watched the ones in the hot spring. Her ears twitching back and she sighed shaking her head as she turned. She tilted her head at Jericho, "Mind if I come along?" She asked as she pondered which way might be best for them to look.

Malodore glanced back at the zombie ghoul, startled by her sudden cry - but it could understand the other undead's fear. "Don't worry - the fire will be localized. It can't possibly spread in all this water." It gestured at the white blanket surrounding the spring. "For those who need it, which won't include me... or you." Apparently, at least.
It held out the implements to Jericho, gratefully. "I can't get near it once it's lit. Make sure it's built safely. None of us are going to self-combust," it said, firmly, its tone completely serious. It was not going to lose anyone to stupidity!

Riley swam like a fish, gaining on Aksaja with a terrifying swiftness.
REST EASY, FRIEND. She growled out angrily. I will SUCCEED this time, so you won't have a THING to worry about ANYMORE!
Then, suddenly, she was gone.
Her body had disappeared under the water so quickly, it was difficult to tell if it was her doing or not. She was simply.. no longer there.
The churning waters of her last position began to still, and not even bubbles broke it's surface. Where could she have gone?
