The quick deaths of the soldiers around Nino surprised her. She looked up at Rath, tears in her eyes. He came back...
"Rath... I... no there's nothing to forgive you for... Thank you."
She came closer, looking up at him with a mix of emotions showing on her face. Love, wonder, and fear... Why was she afraid...? There was so much to say but no way she could possibly say it. Any of it.
"We have to... We have to finish this first..."

And Joshua was around totally feeling like a voyeur as Nino and Rath had their tender moment.
He's also taking bets on whether or not there will be a kiss.

So close! They were so close to the Gate now! Blythe soon saw familiar faces: no one he knew very well, given he didn’t know ANYONE in Learania very well yet, but he at least recognized that red long-haired Swordsmaster who had attempted to bribe him for higher priority in healing back in Sires some time ago and a green-clothed Mercenary from when he had been hired as healing support for their meeting with Rogvald. There also seemed to be fewer Mordachean soldiers surrounding them. Blythe had yet to realize Learania was receiving support from other countries, his entire focus having been upon getting behind the capital’s walls. But suddenly, Cesario had raced past the gates and Blythe pulled the horse’s reigned to get the steed to stop. They had made it!
Now behind the safety of the city’s walls and surrounded by allies, Soren and company were finally able to dismount from Blythe’s horse in safety. “Thanks again.” Blythe told Soren. “I couldn’t have made it without you.” Which was true. Blythe didn’t look to see if Soren was using his tomes while they were riding, but he know was able to realize that that had indeed been the case. Blythe suddenly noticed a number of things he hadn’t had the luxury of paying them attention earlier such as the fact that Eyris was not only being attacked by foreign countries, but being aided by other foreign countries. Indeed, despite the still-grave situation, things were looking considerably more hopeful than earlier. Blythe then drew out his staff and asked out to those around him: “Who needs healing?”
Payment wasn’t even crossing Blythe’s mind for once, at least for the time being. The situation was still serious enough that he’d assist pro bono the remainder of this battle so long as he survived - something which required the survival of fighters and defenders.
And, uh, FD’s been tearing s**t up, as per usual. He was happy and relieved to see reinforcements from Adliana and Estarcia and Rath’s return but kept doing what he was doing. Yeah. And he’s still pretty injured from the bat-lizards from earlier which hasn’t been dealt with yet, but that’s not susceptible to further damage as he’s on the ground right now anyway. More to come regarding FD in a future post.

An ally had appeared besides him, that made things feel slightly at ease. Oujay looked at Edward and acknowledged him with a single nod. "Hey," he said as the myrmidon removed the blood from his blade. He looked back behind him to see the ranger had healed up his wound a bit and now standing back on his feet again. "No problem," he said replying to the rangers simple thanks. Oujay also gave another nod to Kiote as he said he'll help in any way he can. "We'll need every help we can get," he replied as his focus went back onto the battlefield.
A soldier's footsteps was quickly approaching the boy and he knew what was next. Both of their swords clashed at the next moment and their eyes met each other. A kick to the soldier's stomach knocked the enemy back and Oujay's sword came from under and a clean slice went straight up the soldier and his body fell to the ground.
More soldiers appeared around Oujay and he looked back at Edward and Kiote to see them dealing with their own problems as well. It seemed as though this was the end for all three of them. Zing! An arrow suddenly zipped through the air taking out a soldier near the boy. Right after more arrows rained through the air taking out the Mordachean soldiers around them. Along with that he spotted Rath and the army of nomads rushing through the gates to their aid. Help had arrived.
The battle around them ended in an instant all thanks to the aid of the nomads. Oujay dropped to the ground to rest as he used his sword as support to keep himself up. Now that they have time to rest for a moment, he finally realized how worn out his body is and realized all the minor wounds he has and bruises. Some of it being his fault of course like when he jumped from the two story building. The boy even let out a sigh of relief as the ground did feel a bit comfortable to him.
============================================================
The archers above the ground fight kept assisting the soldiers down below with their arrows. Alex's bow sung through the air once more as he struck another soldier on the ground. Even with the archers help, the soldiers numbers weren't dropping that fast and that the ground soldiers were still getting overwhelmed.
"Damn it!" he said out loud as he went to reach over for another arrow. Unfortunately, the red haired man just grabbed air. "What?" he thought as his hand continued blindly grabbing for an arrow. He dropped his head as he knew what had happened. Slowing turning his head at his quiver, he could see that the amount of arrows he had left to use was zero. "that's just great," he whispered to himself as he felt stupid that he couldn't help with the fight anymore.
However, it seemed as though he wouldn't even need to help at all anymore. Hearing horses riding from behind, Alex quickly turned around to see the nomads charging towards the gate to aid them in battle. The sight was like a group of horse riding angels coming from the heavens to protect them, but instead of angels they are nomads. The archers all cheered as the nomads rushed through the gates of Eyris and starting sniping down all the enemy soldiers on the ground. Their victory was assured in this area of the city and it felt good for this battle to finish.
As predicted, the fight quickly diminished as the enemy soldiers were wiped out. He looked around to see archers resting and some that were injured, probably from when there were soldiers breaching the top of the wall. "Let's take carry the injured and anyone unable to walk on their own feet and we'll go down to the ground to meet up with the rest of the soldiers," he stated as he pointed to the stairs that go down to the area where everyone else was at on the ground.

The call of battle The call of duty They both mean the same.x - [Leon] - x A rider came along, and he was neither Estarcian or Adlianian, but of Learania's own Watch. Just like he prided himself to be, Leon was the fastest rider in the city, rushing alongside the other horsemen in an effort to reach Nino. He smiled. The brave nomad had returned with aid, as well as Lady Isadora being here with even more reinforcements! Things were indeed looking up.
And right beside Rath, there she was. The great Archsage Nino, Captain of FEF. He rode alongside her, stopping Anri to a halt with haste. "Milady Nino! We ain't got time to waste! One of my own said Drake's in the castle! We gotta rush there if we wanna help His Majesty an' the others in there!" The knight said, with hardly a breath between his words. It was only afterward he huffed. x - [Watch Lieutenant] - xTo always fight For what is right By my knightly name!

He had done his duty, fulfilled her wishes, but after all he endured because of doing so... he was still not whole. Time was the best medicine he could take. With his focus still on the battle, he nodded to his captain. "We will."
Just then, a rider came up, Leon Vatara of the Watch, and informed them that the Serpent Fang had infiltrated the castle. Rath's blood ran cold. "What?!" He looked down at Nino again and offered his hand. "Let's go." Once she took his hand, Rath helped her up onto the horse, to sit behind him. "Susan, Lieutenant, with me!" With a flick of the reigns, they were off down the street, headed towards the castle as fast as their mounts could carry them.

Leon had ridden up and given them very grave information... The castle had already been breached. Rath helped Nino up onto his own horse... It was only to make sure she got there at the same time... It means nothing...
She said nothing, holding on to Rath while they rode as quickly as possible to the castle. She felt if she said anything... it wouldn't be enough. At the same time, she felt it she would say too much.
I'm weak. I deserve nothing more than his scorn... His and the rest of Learania's. Once I finish helping clean up the mess I created... Perhaps it all should simply end...

After joining force with the Aldians (Not going to bother filling in detail of what happened in the war), they managed to eliminate the force outside of Eyris. When the Mordachean force became smaller, Isadora entered Eyris to see what was the outcome. Shock overwhelmed her as she looked around.
The city was in ruins. Buildings were on fire and being destroyed, corpses were covering the streets, and there were few skirmishes within the city. Just how much dire were there?
Fearing for people's safety, Isadora rode off. She hoped that those she knew well and cared were still alive. It was unknown how many were still there to battle. If they died, who would protect the king and the city?
As Isadora searched around, she saw a familiar ahead of her.
"FD!" Isadora shouted. She snapped her reins, urging her horse to move forward. "Are you okay? How far did the enemy reach inside the city?"

Not only did those Learanians bring reinforcement to help them, but those damned Mordachean bastards double-crossed the Sentrians by killing them. Grr. When this war was over, he would make sure the Mordachean would pay for it. The Mordacheans weren’t suppose to double-cross the Sentrians, the Sentrians were supposed to double-cross them. That was how it went in the life of a Sentrian bandit.
After cleaving and hacking both the Learanian and Mordachean soldiers, Viscen finally reached the courtyard of the castle. Across the courtyard, he could see the entrance of the castle wide opened. Did Drake and the others get in the castle? He hoped that Drake had managed to kill the king before those Mordachean scums did. That would rub the grin off their faces for double-crossing them.
Needed to tell Drake about the reinforcement and not wanted to deal with those idiots, Viscen entered the castle, passing the fights and- a man sleeping while standing?
…
Odd, but not his problem.
The Warrior ran passed to find Drake. Hopefully, no one would cross him while he was on the search.▀-.-.▀▀-.-▀▀▀-.▀▀▀▀-▀▀▀▀-▀▀▀▀-.▀▀▀-.-▀▀-.-.▀ ۞ -.-. you can't ħєℓp your ħαℓℓucιηα†ιηg мιηđ -.-. ۞ you can't ħєℓp your ħαℓℓucιηα†ιηg мιηđ when you start to †яємЬℓє in the scσяcħιηg ωιηđ

He pointed to the side of the building that Akihi and Clara were leaning against. He could use some healing himself, but they came first. He didn't need to be healed as much.
Suddenly, a rider rushed by and his words echoed in Abel's ear. Drake was in the castle. He was in the castle. Abel knew he would be at Eyris, but without knowing where exactly, there was no way he was going to focus his entire time dwelling on Drake. But now he knew just exactly where the b*****d was.
As the riders took off, Abel looked over to his friends, who were being taken care of. He looked at the Adlians who had the situation at the gate under control now. He wasn't needed there anymore. Abel quickly turned and sprinted down the main street. Revenge was filling his thoughts.

JamesTake me home, to the land of my fathers... A tool; that described him very well. It didn't matter who his father was, or for that matter what line he came from. He wasn't Leander. He wasn't the great inventor, the wise negotiator, the slavery abolisher, the seeker of peace. He was just a boy. He was a boy whose birthright was used by a man to bring about the end of Learania. He had done nothing good as king. He had been completely useless. The insults were hard for a child to hear, but it was not so much them as it was the truth that hurt.
The smell of blood and fire filled the throne room. The small king sat in his throne, clenching the arm rests with a frozen solid grip. He couldn't run. He couldn't even move. He couldn't do a thing.
"Maybe... you're right..." James murmured, with his head bowed in shame. "I don't deserve my crown. I've just been a self-entitled fool..." He shakily clenched his hand and then slowly stood and stepped forward. "No matter how sorry I am, it won't change what has happened. But I swear... I swear to any god that can still hear me...!" He gripped the hilt of his rapier, pulled it from its sheath and pointed it at the Serpent's Fang. "I will make things right! Even if it kills me, I won't stop until everything is the way it should be!"

Drake went silent as he listened the whimpering of the pup. He found himself amused. "Courage, is it? Hah. And here you were supposed to be some little coward." The fingers gripping his sword wiggled, eager to react. "I suppose you think valor is all it takes to make a difference. It's so laughably easy to see how much of a naive child you are!" He narrowed his eyes. "Your gods are gone. Your people are dying. Your land burns. And you... are going to die."
With a lunge and a swing, the large sword met with the tiny rapier. The force sent the child flying back into his throne. "So much for that promise of yours. It was just idle speak from a stupid little boy..." He lifted his sword and turned it down, ready to plunge it and finish the king off. "Any last words?"

"Uh! Yeah! Take that, ********!" Ali slashed down another Watch member as he stood at the entrance to the castle courtyard. As the ranking bandit, he was the one giving orders and in charge of keeping the perimeter secure. "Get yo a** out o' here! This' my house, now!" He spun around another one and elbowed him in his helmet-less face. He fell back and was promptly stabbed in the gut. "Deal with it."
The sound of galloping suddenly came and Ali looked out to see what was coming. Just then, an arrow flew right into the throat of an assassin near him. "Oh, s**t!" He looked around him to see if there were any free bodies, but all their forces were occupied in battle. Ali kicked back another Learanian and when he was done, he looked back to the riders. His eyes widened as they were right in front of him. "********!!!"
He dove out of the way just in time, but couldn't do anything to stop them. He thought back to earlier in the battle where he was kicked by a horse and knocked out. He really, really hated horses... The riders rushed through the courtyard and up the stairs, finally arriving at the castle. Rath stopped at the entrance, saw the Serpent Fang looming over James, and quickly knocked an arrow into Drake's shoulder. "He'll be saving those for the proper time." He moved his horse forward, and rode into the throne room. "Nino, now!"
While Nino attacked, Rath stopped by Lord Zeon's body and dismounted. He pulled out his blade and quickly engaged Drake, to get him further away from James. "Protect the king!" Rath ducked from the large blade and then slashed. "Haah!"

They had ridden into the courtyard, up the stairs and inside. There was quite a scene... Lord Zeon and the king were there... Neither looked in good shape. "Any last words" They heard Drake say. Rath shot him in the shoulder and gave the signal to attack.
The girl carefully aimed an elfire spell in Drake's direction, causing him to back away from the king. As Rath dismounted, Nino jumped down from the horse and ran toward James. "Your highness!"
As she was passing Lord Zeon, there was a small groan from his lips, startling her enough to stop. "Lord.... Zeon?" She looked toward James then back at the noble. "I have to heal him! Come closer!" She waved her hand toward the king. She stooped next to the head noble and brought Sophos close to his wound, a blue light emitting from the end of the staff.

JamesTake me home, to the land of my fathers... "Gaugh...!!" James slammed into the throne and went limp. The man had so much raw power in his attack. There was no way he could stop him. James' wide eyes shook as they locked with the Serpent Fang's. This was it. He was really going to die... He would never have the chance to make things right...!
A sudden thwap broke the stare and snapped James from his fear. "He'll be saving those for the proper time." The king peered around the bandit and saw the Captain and Vice Captain of the guild, as well as two other riders. He was astounded... they had really come.
With the Serpent's Fang distracted, James dove from the throne and rolled. When he looked up, he saw Nino's magic and so to be safe, he threw his cloak up, over his face. Everything happened so fast! The next thing he knew, Vice Captain Rath had engaged Drake and Captain Nino was calling. He watched her rush to Lord Zeon and hastily followed after her. His back and shoulders were in great pain and so he was struggling to move effectively, but managed to make it over. He knelt down next to her, breathing heavily, and then looked down at the fallen Head Noble. His eyes began to turn red. "Lord Zeon... I'm sorry... I couldn't... I'm so sorry..."
