Haikimaru frowned. He didn't feel any affection from Mitsuko. They were a couple yet Mitsuko only showed him affection at night when they cuddled together. The rest of time, even in the bedroom, wasn't as nice. "Mitsuko. Do you really like me? If you not care for me then we should just break up." Haiki said. He was hoping that Mitsuko really did like him. However. If they really didn't give each other the right amount of affection then there was no reason to stay together. The senior picked up the dishes and started to care for them. Cleaning them then putting it away. He left his tea for a bit so he could do that.

That woke him up more so than the tea did. Mitsuko lifted his gaze to look at Haikimaru, his face showing his exact train of thought. He looked a bit hurt, but at the same time blank, as if the kitsune were frozen. Break up? He was confused. He couldn't think strait. The senior had said it so bluntly it caught him off guard. Then his roommate walked away, passing the frozen kitsune, who slowly let out the air that had previously filled his lungs, just now noticing he had been holding his breath for a while now. The boy bit his lip, looking down at his tea as he listened to the running water and the clattering of dishes being washed. His ears dropped slightly and his mind was silent, along with his voice. He could taste iron. The boy looked mournfully at his tea. As if ashamed he couldn't find the right words to say anything to make Haikimaru happy. He didn't drink from it, and felt like he was chocking back something. His words? The truth was he wanted Haikimaru, he secretly liked all the attention from the senior while they were alone. He just wished they didn't have to keep it a secret. It felt like he was living two lives, as if they didn't even know each other.

Mitsuko's silence was not a good thing in Haikimaru Taninaka's book. He didn't like that Mitsuko wasn't talking to him. Maybe it was him who was wrong. Did he do something bad again? Is Mitsuko made at him? If his ears were out they would have been flat against his head. He would have showed his upset emotions with them. However. Haiki felt he needed to be a man and men didn't cry or showed weak emotions. He had to be the best man he could be. The senior stopped cleaning the dishes and put them on the rake to dry. He leaned forward a bit. Thinking of what to do next. He then pushed away from the sink and walked back to his room that he shared with Mitsuko and grabbed his bag. He would get out of here soon if Mitsuko didn't say something. Just anything. The purple kitsune picked up his bag and sighed. "If you don't have anything to say then I guess that is it." He commented. It was probably over so soon. He at least gave Mitsuko a chance to say something.

The boy set his tea down, not feeling so good now. Something was wrong and he knew it. He just wished he could say something, anything to his beautiful roommate. He wanted to be held, to be spoken to, to be tickled. He wouldn't mind it now. Anything but be left.. But he couldn't find the words to make Haikimaru stay. It was as if he had lost his voice, as if he had left it, as if it were still frozen. But inside, his mind raced. Did this mean Haikimaru didn't want him anymore? For Haikimaru to leave on such a sour note, Mitsuko felt his insides seem to leave him. His heart seemed to shrivel in his chest and create a huge gap there. Emptiness inside. The kitsune tucked in his head and pulled up his shoulders as he slumped forward in on himself, holding his sides as if he were about to fall apart. He held back everything else by bitting his lip, his eyes sullenly looking at the floor as he the horrible taste of iron spread. He couldn't control Haikimaru, his choices. He couldn't be selfish now, if Haikimaru was going to leave him for someone else then so be it. As long as he was happy Mitsuko would be too. ".. If thats what you want." The boy managed without having his voice crack. Oddly he was able to keep his sudden reappearing voice stay calm as he sat curled up by himself as he stared at his tea. A hint of hidden sadness in his voice.

Haikimaru looked at Mitsuko. he couldn't believe what he heard. Mitsuko said that? His Mitsuko? The other kitsune that he was in love with. He meant it when he wanted Mitsuko to be his girlfriend. He was loyal to his lovers till he found a reason to leave them. He had yet to find one about Mitsuko. At least not a real strong reason to up and leave. He wasn't sure if Mitsuko mean what he said. "No. It's not what I want. I want to be with you at my side. You just don't give me enough affection and I rather break up now before I get hurt later." He explained to Mitsuko. At least he was being honest. He wanted to be the one that Mitsuko couldn't get out of his mind and everytime they saw each other Haikimaru wanted Mitsuko to run up and beg for a kiss.

The small kitsune blushed, and tried to hide it with his bangs as he continued to stare down at the floor. Affection. It was one thing the kitsune didn't really understand. He had looked it up many times and knew what it meant, sure. But up until now he never understood what it meant to be in a relationship with another or even what it felt like to express those feelings. He hadn't even had a friend up until now. Haikimaru had been the first one to have had a personal relationship with Mitsuko. Although the freshman had started out as just another one of Haikimaru's victums. He had progressed into gaining feelings for him quickly and had even made them boyfriend and girlfriend. But the smaller kitsune didn't know what to do. It was his first time trying such new things, he was scared he'd hurt someone be it himself or Haikimaru. "And I'm saying I don't want to hurt you! That I don't!" the boy snapped, although not meaning too, as he choked back tears. Mitsuko got a few shivers as he tried to contain his need to get closer to his roommate. To kiss those tender lips just once more. To cry as he held his head and let his fingers run through the other's hair. His own gaining patches of silver and his right eye changing to a light yellow. His canines were more exposed, longated like a dog's. If it kept up like this he'd most likely loose his form now and change to something more fox like than humanoid.

Mitsuko probably only made things worst. Haikimaru had become confused. What did he mean by hurt him? Was Mitsuko just playing with Haiki's emotions like Haiki was once playing with Mitsuko? Or was it that something else was wrong? Then there were those tears and shivers that Mitsuko was having. Why was he crying? Haikimaru couldn't understand at all. His feelings were all confused and his stomach started to have it's own sick reaction to the confusion. Haikimaru walked over to his bed. He didn't want to hear anymore. He didn't even want to be in the same room as someone who was just playing with him. He felt like an idiot who showed his neck to a lion. He had trusted Mitsuko only to be failed. Just like he was the 'idiot son' that his father had. He didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment. Than again Kakuhito was the perfect child and he was the imprefect one. The kitsune was really hard on himself. "I understand. Just leave me."

Pain. A twisted gut feeling as those hurtful words hit him. He didn't want to leave. But Haikimaru's words would be final. It was useless to press the issue, he knew that. Mitsuko would most likely only make things worse. He always did even when he tried not to. The kitsune held his breath for a few seconds as he whipped away his tears, but more replaced them. A useless cause, so he let them be and stood. He held his breath as his gut seemed to twist even further into pain as he quickly walked to the door and grabbed his shoes, taking up his backpack on his way. If the matter pressed, they wouldn't get anywhere. Mitsuko, despite being able to speak before, still couldn't find the words to make Haikimaru understand.. just three little words. Was it always this hard to tell someone how you felt? It was the only thing Mitsuko never understood. For he had never experienced it himself. Love. Companionship. Friendship. The ability to care for another deeply. The boy tightened his hold on his backpack, trying to gather his steregth to speak. But with another wave of tears boiling over in the near future, the boy dashed out the door blindly, hurt. He hated himself. He was so stupid.

Haikimaru was considering not going to classes. The more he thought about it the more his stomach hurt. Then Mitsuko left. He left. So it was true he was playing with Haikimaru's emotions.Probably wanted revenge for what he did before they truly found each other. It was one thing to be a bully. It was another to play with someones emotions. It made him the worst. The normally strong Haiki started to cry. He wasn't going to classes today. It would hurt to much to see Mitsuko. He also didn't want people to see him weak. He didn't want to be called weak.

Almost quiet footsteps, equal and even as they came down the hall, toward dorm room 102. The kitsune had avoided this place sense that morning. He had tried and tried, but he couldn't stay away forever. It was his dorm, even if he shared it with the most beautiful Senior he'd ever met. This was where he had let his mind wander to all day, this is where he thought of every hour sense leaving. His face was calm and tiered, almost depressed. His eyes were dark and unreadable, and curiously, the color black. They weren't their normal deep sapphire green as they were, they were pure black. His eyes, ears, fangs, and claws were only minor details compared to the white brush and stripe of fur that rode up the boy's back. Slowly, it started to recceed as he had walked, but just as quick as it appeared it reappeared once more when he gained sight of the room number. His feet stopped, and he slowly lifted his head to stare at dorm room 102's door. His heart raced as well as ached. The stabbing pain his butterflies brought hadn't been there before. The welling feeling of tears returning for another wave like that morning came, but the tears never did. The boy swallowed his heart that had made its way to his throat. But nothing showing on his face. He could still smell Malinois's scent on his own, slowly fading, but not by much. Haikimaru's scent, so familiar yet so foreign, could be scented just beyond the door in front of him. He didn't notice any new scents besides the last time he used the door to leave. He hadn't even seen Haikimaru at either class he had with him.. It had pained him so to see it, but Mitsuko knew his roommate had not left his dorm at all that day. Bitting his lip, he raised a fist to knock, then lowered it and instead looked down at his feet. ".. Haikimaru-sama?" The kitsune asked, waiting for any sign of movement from behind the door. His tail was still stuck in his pants but, although a bit uncomfortable, wasn't as hard to cope with as it would have been. He knew Haikimaru was behind this door, and he would be able to hear his voice again if he was lucky. No matter if it was harsh or uncaring. Silently, the small Kitsune waited for an answer.

Haikimaru had moved, but, only a little. He only moved when a couple of flyers were stuffed through the bottom and sides of the doors. The Kitsune wondered why he had been bothered from his thoughts. The purple haired kitsune looked through each of them till he got to the flyer labeled 'Matchmaking Club, guys needed'. Maybe his relationship had failed with Mitsuko, but, that didn't mean he couldn't have another one. When Haiki's roommate came home the senior would have to play 'dead' or in this case acted like he was in the dream world. He didn't want Mitsuko to know that he was awake. Though the kitsune also didn't listen for anyone coming. He didn't bathe and probably smelled of something fierce. The matchmaking flyer still in his hand. Haikimaru was still in pain of having lost Mitsuko and yet being in the bed next to him. In his heart Haiki knew that Mitsuko still controlled the strings. It was more the reason that he would have to find someone new and different. Someone to love him and kiss him each night. Maybe he would talk to the matchmaking club.
