0-Azula-0 I saw the schedule and I have an idea. September 1st 2010- January 1st, 2011 = One Hogwarts year January 1st 2011- June 30th 2011 = One Hogwarts year June 30th 2011-September 1st 2011 = Summer Holiday theres 2 years of school back to back with no break inbetween and I think that we do need to have one smile Maybe if you add a Winter Holiday in there like December 20-January 10 as the winter Holiday to show a break in the year? That way we can have an actual seasonal thing biggrin Here the general idea im talking about September 1st - December 20th = One Hogwarts Year December 20th - January 20th = Winter Break January 20th - June 30th = One Hogwarts Year June 30th - September 1st = Summer BreakThe Summer and Winter Breaks represent the transitioning into a new year to make it a more realistic experience biggrin I think its a pretty cool idea, what do you think?
Technically its not two years of class's its 2 terms for one whole school year.
September 1st 2010- January 1st, 2011 = (1st term) January 1st 2011- June 30th 2011 = (2nd term) June 30th 2011-September 1st 2011 = Summer Holiday
so to fix your post
September 1st - December 20th = 1st term (start of school year) December 20th - January 5th = Winter Break January 5th - June 30th = 2nd term (end of school year) June 30th - September 1st = Summer Break

No, im not mistaken, the post doesnt need to be fixed, there are two hogwarts guild years in one real life year. I wrote this on the post, ill make it a bit clearer. but no, it isnt terms, its there are two years, each one is a separate year. there are two guild years in one in real life year.

Would it be possible for some of us students to tag out with another teacher each term, so the teachers (who want it) get the student experience and vice versa? That might also keep classes up and running more since so many of us are frequent posters. I was talking to Zillah, and she said it can get boring just being a teacher, and I can see how that would be limiting.

Nothing is true….
I was thinking that we should have a thread for the newest members to introduce themselves before they start posting in the guild proper, that way people will know who's new and all that jazz. I'm finding it harder and harder to keep track of who's new, since not everyone joining is creating profile pages in that thread.
….everything is permitted

….everything is permitted I agree... To add to that, maybe have a thread for "Sorting (Hat)" or something, so they can say which House they've been chosen to be in. They could add something about themselves after that. Or have subforums under "Sorting (Hat)" or whatever, with the four different houses, and have newcomers post under there.

Sing already does the Sorting, and then edits this thread ('X') showing who's in which house, so I don't think she'll be adding another thread that does the same thing.

I don't think we need a sorting hat place necessarily, but perhaps a forum dedicated to introducing new people would be nice, my only worry about hat is perhaps that it may get too cluttered, like, we have the great hall wehere people can come in, but amid all the conversations, you don't really notice it. but if we had a place like that, yes it would be nice, but honestly, it just might be difficult if people said oh hi welcome, since then the new people may get lost among all that chatter and it would have the same feel the great hall does,...im not disregarding this idea, its just, what would i do for that? plus people can make profiles...ill try asking new people to make profiles for themselves before they come in

Well if we restrict the posting for just the newest people, no oh hello welcome to the guild stuff from everyone else, then that might cut down on the clutter. The thing is Gaian's are notoriously lazy and might not follows the rules and create a character profile, which would also fall under them not taking time to introduce themselves in the thread I mentioned about so its a lose-lose.
