Username: -kills Fen- Sorry, I said I would kill the next person to ask this. I_am_Ronnel_no_Fenniksu

RPC name: Azrael Noce Pharos

Is it a Free skill?: It's free if you meet the requirements. And people who want to learn it have to learn it from Azrael, or someone he has taught.

Type of skill: Shadowknight Skill

Skill name: Shell of Agony

Rank: D rank - A rank
NOTE: Uses equivalent amount of energy to its summoning for every post it is in existence. So if an SK summons a B rank Shell, every post he keeps it active he has to pay B rank energy.

If it uses ammo how much: N/A

Limits: Must be Shadowknight class. Must be at least novice rank, ascending rank to use higher ranks of energy.

Skill description:
The Shadowknight summons a shell of unholy energy that extends a few feet away from their body. This shell of energy is meant to dissuade physical contact - if someone touches it or enters the shell, it begins inflicting minor damage when first learned, while at higher ranks it begins leaving open cuts. (D/C rank anyone entering the field feels like their skin is being stabbed by needles over and over, leaving no physical damage, while at B/A rank this technique actually opens cuts in the flesh of anyone entering the field.) This field does not affect the Shadowknight using it, but if another Shadowknight tried entering such a field, they would find themselves healed due to the negative nature of the energy being used.
NOTE: Clerics and paladins receive increased damage due to the unholy nature of the Shell of Agony. Other Shadowknights receive healing from this.
D rank Shell:
Creates feeling of needles barely piercing the skin. Withstandable, but excruciating.
C rank Shell:
Creates feeling of needles piercing into the muscles, causes intense pain that is hard to ignore.
B rank Shell:
Rips open skin, causing blood flow. Less painful than the C rank version, but potentially more deadly.
A rank Shell:
Creates deep gashes into the muscles. More painful than C rank version, and much more deadly.
S rank Shell:
Creates gashes in the skin that go straight down to the bone. Pain at this level is impossible to ignore without severe training, and is nearly fatal without immediate medical attention.

The Shell does not affect anything that isn't human. This means bullets, arrows, weapons, skeletons, zombies, and Ferals would be unaffected. However, anyone in armor or scales still receives damage. It affects living nerve tissues and living flesh, meaning anything that isn't one of those is ignored altogether. Useful in melee combat because it extends for about five feet, but not much good against ranged combat or indirect combat.

Sample:
Azrael grunted as the person danced around him, faster than he could keep up. He knew that if he could hit the damn little girl, she would lose quickly, but with her insane speed that wasn't likely to happen. There was a low rumble before the Shadowknight spoke.
"Shell of Agony." A malevolent purple shroud of energy wrapped around the man, seeming to rise from the ground to come to a peak over his head. There was a sudden cry of pain from behind the Shadowknight, causing him to turn around. THe girl he was fighting was laying there, clutching her lower leg and rolling on the ground, tears streaming from her face.
"That was the feeling of needles being stabbed into every inch of skin that entered my Shell of Agony. Yield." Retribution came to rest at her neck, and she grimaced before nodding.

Is it a Free skill?: Yes, if potential learners meet the requirements. They must also learn it from Azrael or from someone he has taught.

Type of skill: Shadowknight Skill

Skill name: Rejecting Slash

Rank: C rank - S rank

If it uses ammo how much: N/A

Limits: Shadowknight Class, Greatsword/Long Sword specialization, Novice Rank to use initially, higher ranks necessary to use more energy in the technique.

Skill description: The first of two techniques meant to aid the Shadowknight against elemental attacks. This technique is used by focusing a mixture of unholy energy and normal energy along the length of the blade, which is then released when it is swung. The attack does not harm physical beings, and only shoves ephemeral (Ephemeral monsters or Paranormals) away. This is meant primarily for usage in countering elemental attacks. If a Rejecting Slash strikes an elemental attack of a rank equivalent to its own energy expenditure or one rank higher, the attack is deflected away to one side. If it strikes an attack of rank equal to one rank below its own energy expenditure, the attack is deflected back in the direction it came from. If the elemental technique it strikes is more than one rank below being equivalent to the energy used in the Rejecting Slash, the attack is deflected back along the path it came from and increased in lethality by one rank.

(C rank deflects C rank or B rank away, but deflects D rank back in the direction it came from. B rank deflects B rank or A rank away, but deflects C rank back in the direction it came from, and reflects D rank attacks back in the direction they came from while increasing their power to C rank damage, etc etc.)

Sample:

Azreal turned the corner and was forced to dodge back behind the covering stone as a thin stream of flame shot through where his head had just been. He was now perturbed - every time he tried moving out from cover, he had to dodge being hit with fire and overheated. And while he could simply outwait his opponent, he wanted to be able to move. He grimaced underneath his helmet before nodding. He had a technique that might allow him to do what he wanted, but he had never tried it out in combat.
"No time like the present... Rejecting Slash." Purple and blueish energy wrapped around the blade of Retribution.
The Shadowknight spun around the corner. He saw the stream of flame approaching him, and slashed Retribution downwards. The energy that had been twisting around his blade flew out and impacted against the fire, sending the bolt of flame off to one side to impact harmlessly into the stones of a nearby building.

((One more technique in mind, but I'll see how these two are received first..))

Well, I guess it's my turn to look over the skills sweatdrop ?

Shell of Agony: I need a bit more information on it. How high can this skill go? To me, it seems like it can go only up to A-rank but other might see it differently or I might be completely wrong. Exactly what are the differences between the ranks? From the looks of it, the D-rank and C-rank levels are the same and the B-rank and A-rank levels are the same. Tying in to the last question, what are the specific effects of each rank? How deep are the cut? How deep do the needles feel like they're going?

Rejecting Slash: I'm leaving this one to someone else. With my own defensive skill, I tend to overpower them. That, and I'm at conflicts with myself sweatdrop . Part of me, which created a similar skill, says the one rank difference is perfectly fine. At the same time, another part of me says it's unfair, especially since shadowknights can use elements and have normal energy reserves.

By the way, since last time I did this my own custom skills accidentally got ignored >.> , I have a set of customs on the page before this one that still needs to be checked.

Added description to the Shell of Agony about each rank, and added S rank effects. Also, the energy amount that Shadowknights can use is a trait they share with Paladins, one of the few positive abilities that these classes have over other melee classes.

Shell of Agony: One last thing that I completely overlooked (sorry >_< ), how does it effect things that aren't people? Like a tree or an arrow? What about magic? Do they get torn up as well or no?

Rejecting Slash: As I said before, I'm leaving this decision up to someone else. It's not because I think that it should be denied, if that's what you're scared about. It's because I really don't know how to judge it sweatdrop .

Whose case do I have to get onto about it?

Shell: Alrighty then. Specify all of that in the description and you're good to go with that skill 3nodding .

Slash: Umm.... Well, when we assigned everything, Fenrir was the other person in charge of skills, so I guess you should ask him?

ronnel: Rejecting Slash- Denied. As a general rule of thumb we don't accept techniques that redirect other moves back at the user. And even if we do, its usually something low like E-rank fire moves or something. Plus the shadowknight has enough going for it right now without this, so it doesn't particularly need this technique or anything.

oxy: Scythe Trap- Denied. This is too low ranked.

Soul coating- How long does this last?

You need to make samples for the rest of your skills. These aren't free skills.

And, once again, my skills got ignored emo .

RPC name: Tsubasa Sonitus-Confuto

Free skill: No
Type of skill: Bard/Minstrel
Skill name: Water's Flow
Rank: C
Limits: Must be a minstrel. Must be at least adept rank.
Skill description: After much experimentation with Improvised Spirit, several distinct songs were created that were sure to increase a certain stat. Water's Flow's fluctuating rhythm and seamless changes between keys raises the evasion of allies by one level with C-rank energy and by two levels with B-rank energy. The performer must stay in one spot while playing (but is allowed to duck and dodge as long as their feet remain in the same area) and cannot stop the song until after two posts. Water's Flow can last for a maximum of five posts and requires a two post cool-off period before it can be played again.
Sample: Feather watched from behind the boulder as her partner tried his best to dodge the barrage of bullets from the gunslinger. So far, he had only earned a spattering of minor wounds, but that could very easily change sometime soon. Concerned, Feather began to play a flexible song that seemed to always be changing but remaining the same at the same time. Hopefully, the nature of the song will embed itself into her partner's movements and help him dodge the bullets. Well, not really hopefully seeing how, as a skill, that was what the song was supposed to do.

Free skill: No
Type of skill: Bard/Minstrel
Skill name: Soothing Sonata
Rank: C
Limits: Must be a minstrel. Must be at least adept rank. Must be a siren.
Skill description: A song that spreads out the users's sense of peace and takes effect as soon as it begins, Soothing Sonata's soft chords instills a sense of peace within all listeners and pacifies them, nullifying all aggressive tendencies, even those stemming from bloodline/class traits. During the first post, anyone who hears the song will start to feel the effects but still be able to attack if their rage is high enough. From the second post all the way to the end, it is impossible for anyone to attack. While the user may move while using this song, he/she may not attack or harm anyone in any way. Using this song as an escape method is also not an option because the effects will disappear as soon as it cannot be heard. Soothing Sonata does not need to be sung, but it will use half as much energy if a siren used his/her voice rather than his/her instrument. The song can be held for as long as the user wishes to hold it but requires a C-rank amount of energy every three posts. When used solely to pacify natural aggressive tendencies (such as those stemming from a bloodline), Soothing Sonata's effects can last for up to ten posts after it has been played (must be played for at least three posts for this effect). Although, this side-effect is very fragile and can be cancelled by the target at any time.
Sample: Feather looked on in fear as a fight began to brew between her two other teammates. Somehow, for some reason, their captain had seen it fit to stick a vampire and werewolf on the same team and, ever since the start of the job, they had been constantly bickering. Soon enough, the bickering turned into shouting and then, just recently, it turned into a stand-off to see who would make the first move in the fight. Not wanting to see the outcome, Tsubasa decided that she would be the one to make the first move and promptly began to play a song on her lute. It was soft and soothing, the name was Soothing Sonata, and as soon as it started the other two began to relax slightly. By the time the intro was done, they were both far from fighting. While the werewolf and vampire weren't exactly friends, they didn't exactly look like they would kill each other either.

Free skill: No
Type of skill: Bard/Minstrel
Skill name: Ranting Fury
Rank: C
Limits: Must be a minstrel. Must be at least adept rank.
Skill description: After much experimentation with Improvised Spirit, several distinct songs were created that were sure to increase a certain stat. Ranting Fury's accented impacts and furious runs up and down the scale raises the attacking power (both physical and magical) of allies by one level with C-rank energy and by two levels with B-rank energy. The performer must stay in one spot while playing (but is allowed to duck and dodge as long as their feet remain in the same area) and cannot stop the song until after two posts. Ranting Fury can last for a maximum of five posts and requires a two post cool-off period before it can be played again.
Sample: Feather sighed. Honestly, she didn't exactly like using the song she was about to try. She had nothing against the tune itself. It was just that most people used its effect for violence, which she didn't like. However, she saw no other way to break through the barrier that their target had set up and so began performing Frantic Fury. As Tsubasa's fingers scraped furiously against the strings of her lute as she played, her teammates would feel a sudden increase in their attacking power. Even the mage's magic attacks would start dealing more damage.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 20, 2010 2:48 pm

Kage: Sorry about that. sweatdrop

Water's Flow- Accepted

Soothing Sonata- Make its effect last 3 posts before costing another C-rank energy instead of 5 and then it'll be Accepted.

Ranting Fury- Accepted

It has been changed whee .
PostPosted: Mon Dec 20, 2010 3:15 pm

Fen it is weak as hell it belongs as an E rank move all it can do is take a persons soul who has died and it only works if the person would normally die it doesn't do any extra damage at all or do anything special except take the person who is deads soul when they die [example would be like when they cut off someones head there is no way the person is still alive so they die and once they die insted of the soul passing it the scythe traps it inside Scythe coating is only good for one attack. also none of the skills are free they all need to be taught by Yama.

Is it a Free skill?: Yes

Type of skill: Stage 5 Inner Storm skill

Skill name: Deep Sunder

Rank: B

If it uses ammo how much:

Limits: Must be done outside, or in a place that has a clear view of the sky.

Skill description: User lifts their hand up to the sky and calls down a lightning bolt to strike them. Instead of causing them harm the user harnesses power of the lightning in their hand, mixing it with their own energy to amplify its destructive power, and then punches the ground. Everything under the surface of the user is then struck with a powerful shockwave as the lightning tears through the area beneath them. This is particularly powerful against Earth and Water.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 22, 2010 1:34 pm

Fenrir: I'm assuming free skills don't need rp samples? Don't you mean "Thunder" not "Sunder"? Does "clear view of the sky" mean that it can't be cloudy? What happens to the people inside the ground during the skill? Do they get ripped up or just tossed out real hard? If they get ripped up, shouldn't this skill have some sort of cool-off period at the very least because it's so strong?
EDIT- Can't believe I forgot >_< . What's the range of the skill?

Nope. "Sunder" means to rip apart. People inside the ground during this skill will recieve heavy damage, maybe even lose a limb or two, but probably not enough damage to actually die unless they're in water. Range of the skill goes throughout the entire area, however large that may be, though it only hurts things specifically underground. Anything above the surface, whether this be ground or a body of water, is not touched by this technique. Clear view of the sky means they have to be able to see the sky or clouds. It doesn't have to be cloudless, in fact its probably better if there are clouds. The reason why is because the lightning can't hit the user if they're inside a building. However, I corrected myself by saying view of the sky in case the user happens to be in a building, but can see the sky since the building they're in just so happens to be a glass house, in which case the lightning should be powerful enough to break through the glass to reach the user. Basically reach is the key. If its possible for the user to be struck by lightning, the skill can be used. Otherwise its not even worth trying.
