To the cells then Mariah decided. She led the way soundlessly to where the cells were.

"Steven's office is that way," she said, pointing towards the right, "so I think the cell of interest would be that way?"

Neti woke up to the sight of police officers and instantly stood up and shrieked, "It wasn't me, officers!"

They assured her that they weren't accusing her and asked her where she was at the time of Danella's attack.

"Well, that's easy. I was at home, getting ready for the dinner party. My friends and I decided to go to the movies, and I don't remember anything after that."

They looked suspicious at this and before she knew it, Neti was on the police car, on her way to the station.

Christrose woke to find herself still in the dismal dark of her cell at DB Corps and sighed quietly, not enough for the people outside to hear. She was silent for a moment as she pondered what to do next.

Then faintly, she caught the sound of footsteps. She strained to hear against the wall but soon gave up and continued sitting in the dark.

"If we scream, she would probably hear," Peony whispered softly to Danica and Mariah. "But that'd probably annoy anyone else here," she decided then. "Unless we're planning to free everybody and get put in jail for trespassing, screaming would only alert Lewis..."

"Fine," Mariah said. "Give me a moment."

She closed her eyes and breathed in and out for a moment to gain control of her breathing. She mentally reviewed a few tai-chi moves and then yelled, "CHRISTROSE LANDERNORM! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, GIVE A SIGN!"

She laughed quietly after that, listening intently. That was hilarious fun. Of course, it won't be much fun if someone catches us.

Christrose heard Mariah's call and immediately recognised the sonorous voice. "HERE!" she called back, inching towards the voice's direction until she hit the wall. "OVER HERE!" She pounded on the wall as hard as she could but didn't succeed in doing anything but hurting her hand. She yelped and pulled her hand back, clutching it painfully.

"HERE!" She called again.

"That one!" Peony said, rushing towards the wall in the dim light. "Danica, did you say you had a flashlight?" She reached in her pocket and pulled out a pair of paperclips and a hairclip. I might not have all her skill, but I still retained something...people forget that with violin-playing comes lock-picking...

((True story: Castele lost the key to his violin case and had to learn how to pick it's lock. Lyra and I can't do it, but he can. It's funny, really. LoL.))

"Oh!" Peony turned slight pink at this, and turned towards the flashlight only to flinch away. "I...was using the passageway in Steven's office...I never used the public doors..."

She smiled embarrassedly and returned to unlocking the latch. A few more struggles and clacks and "no...."s later, a pleasant click signalled that the lock had been overcome. Peony gave the door a heavy shove and it opened inwards to reveal Christrose clutching a bloody fist.

"You guys are here!" the prisoner said, elated, squinting at the light to see who was holding it. "I have my stuff in the corner...I would hold it, but my hand really hurts.

"Danica? That you? Thank you for freeing me!"

((oh. No, I thought it was clear that Peony actually didn't know the way besides the Steven-secret-passage-way. Haha. Would you all like me to have if be because of an ulterior motive or something?))

Tiffany and Steven eventually left the Iekelazi residence to return to their respective homes. Steven obviously needed much assistance in walking back.

"Got...get to work...Lewis...gonnabe...so....annoyed..I is...late..."

"It's nearly midnight, Steven. Go home, please!"

"Office."

Steven crashed into a lamp post outside DB Corps and stumbled around the building in a daze. He crashed headfirst through the unlocked back door without even noticing it was unlocked and headed up for his office.

Tiffany chased after him, not knowing what to do.

"What was that?" Peony whispered, whipping around at the sound of voices and the back door banging open. She and Christrose fell silent and they listened intently.

"I gonna make you a birthday cake Lewis! Happy Birthday! Tiffany! You wanna help me bake a cake for Kevin too? I wanna put arsenic in it. Special for him." Steven raved, bonking into walls and tripping over his feet. Tiffany looked around frantically in the maze of the building, rather lost.

"Mother and Steven!" Peony whispered, gasping. She turned in the direction where Danica and Mariah were, though the latter's dark clothe made her blend well into the darkened area--all she could discern was a thin strand of pink hair, for the flashlight was not pointed at her--and asked hurriedly but quietly, "What do we do?"

((Aha! This wasn't a useless post!))

"Yes it's me. Son of a gun." Danica whispered to Christrose. She waited for the commosion outside to die a little before she went to take a peek. "I can get rid of Steven. Incompacitate him quickly, and then get your mom, but I'm not sure you want your mom knocked out." Danica said going back to whisper it to Christrose.

The police had brought Neti to Danella's house for questioning. "Is this the girl that attacked you?" The man asked.

Danella looked at Neti with suprise. She knew she had an original and that Neti wasn't prone to violence, but her memory was foggy and so she thought that since Neti was covered in dirt, it must be Mariah. "Yes that's her." She replied to the man.

"You're calling me a backstaber?! You ATTACKED me! I don't see how you're the victim!" Danella said suprised.


Danica almost growled. "What do you want me to do?" She whispered to the others.
