Miyuki was perhaps too in awe by them to take offense in what they were saying. Otherwise it might not have been pretty. At the moment she was too busy trying to figure out who's 'voice' was coming from who.
Lin though, could suddenly understand why Earendil called them prideful.
"She's young, there's much she hasn't seen yet."

One of the unicorns bobbed its head. *Time brings all things to pass,* another new voice came, followed by still a fourth. *I've never seen anything like her, what is she?*
And then a fifth: *For that matter, what is the one with wings?

Miyuki was trying to get a look at all of the unicorns, trying to figure out who was talking. They were obviously different voices, but since the unicorns' mouths didn't have to move to talk, it was hard to tell who was talking.
Lin had to admit she was a bit bemused by their bluntness, and somewhat amused.
"My name is Lin, I'm from the race of angels, and this is my daughter Miyuki, she is a kitsune."

*Angel,* one of the unicorns mused. *Interesting. We don't have your kind in our world, you must be from that other world.*
*As well as the kit,* another added. *Do not forget the kit.*
Earendil looked down at Miyuki and chuckled, amused by the look on her face. She seemed very confused, but it was just plain cute.

It was hard to tell where it was all coming from, there was just so many of them. Finally Miyuki gave up to protest, "I'm a girl!"
Of course kit was just a short way to say kitsune and really among kitsunes she was a kit technically speaking.
Lin giggled at Miyuki's outburst for a moment before nodding at that statement, "Yes, we're both from that other world."

Earendil chuckled and knelt down and hugged Miyuki gently.
"Don't take it personally," he murmured softly into her ear. "They like to tease, but they really don't mean it. They're just playful."
One of the unicorns stepped forward and approached the three of them. It was tall: its head was higher than Earendil's, its legs longer than his. It was graceful in its movements, almost more like a flowing ribbon than a horse-like creature.
*Angel,* it said, looking directly at Lin, *you bring to our world great change ... but it is for the better. Hold fast to your purpose, and do not fear. We are with you.*

For a moment it felt like she lost her breath. Did they know about the going ons between her and Earendil like so many did? Or was it something else. It wasn't like she had purposely set out to do something in this world, she just was. She viewed the world through Gaian eyes, while trying to understand it all the same.
Then again she didn't understand how she could change anything in such a large world.
"Thank you," she murmured being touched all the same.
"Okay...." Miyuki pouted though she couldn't help but stare at the unicorn that came closer to them.

The unicorn laughed softly, as if it knew that Lin had no idea what it was talking about. *You will understand in time,* it told her. It turned to Miyuki and lowered its head and gently nosed her shoulder as if testing her somehow.
"Easy," Earendil murmured softly to Miyuki under his breath.

It was so big, was the first thought to Miyuki's mind. She knew the unicorns were large, but to see one this close to her was something else. She raised a hand.
"Touch?"
She knew Wish could get snappy if touched too much, at least by children old enough to understand. Babies could get away with a lot, she saw the babies get a way with a lot.

The unicorn seemed to hesitate for a moment as if considering the question, but after a moment it lowered its head again and held it close to Miyuki so that she could pet it.
"Be gentle," Earendil murmured softly, smiling at Miyuki.
Some of the other unicorns looked a bit skittish at the fact that one of them was allowing itself to be touched, but they made no comments and no efforts to stop it.

Lightly Miyuki brushed her fingers against the soft fur, really she did just want to touch because it was so shiny so it was fascinating to her.
"Soft," she murmured happily, "Thank you!"
Very soft she decided, very soft and pretty.

The unicorn stared at her a moment longer, then lifted its head once more. It slowly turned and headed back to the others, and then all of them, all at once, fell silent.
Earendil let his breath out slowly. "Looks like this interview is over ..."

That had been so weird, it had gave Lin a rush at everything that had happened. It seemed to an extent, surreal...
"So it seems," she murmured softly, "I guess that's it for today."
Miyuki who had no idea exactly how amazing this whole thing was just simply waved at the unicorn, "Bye bye!"

Earendil smiled and slipped one arm around Lin's shoulders and gave her a light squeeze. "Someday," he grinned at her, "Miyuki is going to look back on this and wonder how she could have taken it for granted."
He let her go, then reached down and patted Miyuki on the head. "Come on, let's go see the horses now."

Lin giggled at that, "Maybe, she's too use to talking to all sorts of creatures...."
Perhaps as Miyuki understood how unicorns thought, maybe then, but even Lin wasn't sure if she understood it all.
"Oh yea...." Miyuki replied as if had just remembered that was the original reason for them begin, "I forgot, let's go see the horses."
