I drink for recreational purposes, not for finding a quick relief from my miserable life... o3o

@Ura: Amen brother. I wouldn't nescissarily want to get wasted right now, but sharing a few drinks with friends sounds like a great idea.
Kingcorrupted: That's great! ... in-laws scare me though.. i'm always afraid of my partners parents.. i just don't want to not have their approval.. but it's great that you've bonded with them!!

In laws kind of scare me too. I'm always afraid that they are nice to my face but then talk about how awful I am behind my back. I also hate it when it is painfully obvious that they are making a conscious effort to include me in the conversation. You know like when they are talking about some family member that you have never met or something else that you obviously have nothing to say about because you're not even sure what the hell they are going on about. Then all of a sudden they look at you and ask what your hobbies are. Then they sort of listen for like 10 seconds and then go back to ignoring you.

Ura the rainbow King "Being buzzed is fun,it makes all problems gone!" Not for long. They're always back in the morning. For me, stress drinking only comes in the form of a single beer or spiked cider accompanied with junk food to release stress. I don't really do recreational drinking, and I don't like opening anything alcoholic until after 5 pm. Just seen too many people drink too much. It never really turned ugly (no abuse or messy rehab or anything) but the blood pressure spikes form wondering if the morning will bring news of someone getting in an alcohol related car accident are hard on the heart.

I was just about to say that... and that's the exact reason why I don't drink to relieve stress. Half the time you just make it worse by doing something stupid anyhow confused

yeh, i always want to drink when i'm depressed, but i know better after 3 years of doing just that. when i'm upset (which is ironically the time i most want to drink) i cannot handle my alchahol well. i get violent and end up hurting myself or my friends.
anywho, congratulations on officer rank Joshie! smile even less likely to see combat now! ^.^ heart

First of all, I'm under age. Second of all, I never touch beer, wine, whiskey, etc. Thirdly, I was raised by wonderful parents. Lastly, I lead a wonderful life.
God is my drink/drug. (I'm Christian) ^.^ Yay! I don't need alcohol to be crazy. lol.

I don't drink to get drunk. I sometimes have a glass of wine because I actually enjoy it, but I have such a low tolerance (I'm little and I don't really drink) that I sometimes accidentally end up drunk. Mind you, I usually don't get too upset about it.
Whenever I have just went to get drunk, I've gotten absolutely plastered and it was never a good experience (plus drunk = loss of some control, makes me feel vulnerable).
I smoke weed sometimes, but I rarely drink. Haha. I'm a purist of the silliest sorts.
Also, I don't think I've posted here once, and I like cats! But I don't believe in god, so it's all good.
