Syrenrei was still there, persay, but a fair distance off and up in a tree. It was more a cat-like instinct than anything that had made her climb a tree, not any sort of common sense or reason. After all, it was much harder to get up a tree safely, than down... but she had no qualms about sleeping in a tree to save her dignity.
What was that thing? Another Aerandir maybe? But wasn't that human-furry-feathered womans an Aerandir too? ;___; Oh, this didn't make sense to her at all.

(( Ieyasu has no railings. There's a few windchimes and lanterns hanging, a bamboo fountain deer-chaser and a little bamboo garden on the porch. Otherwise it's clear.))
Ieyasu glanced over at Fae nearby, frowning. "Nothing. She just suddenly bolted over there." He nodded to the tree, absently giving Osusuki a light scratch behind the ears. He then glanced down at the basket, almost curiously. If Syrenrei hadn't been about to drop it on top of him, he probably wouldn't have been so quick to accept it. His curiousity getting the better of him, with his free hand he reached over to the cellophane-wrapped basket, pulling back the red plastic with a rustle.
Osusuki stretched out a little, sitting still for the first time in a while. As he felt Ieyasu scratching him, however, he turned his head, nudging at his hand a little before turning back around again. Perhaps the fact that he was finally quieting was a sign that he was tiring just a little.

Fae's head tilted and glanced back to the cat-like Syren. Eyebrows furrowing, she rubbed at her eyes and yawned. It was clearing getting late, and her mood was quickly dulling. She stroked Pueblo's head, glaring at Syren giving Pueblo such a crazy look. Fae was acting awefully strange..
Perhaps she'd never know what this fox/crane'sname would be, but that already telling her something, she stood and gave ea small bow to Ieyasu. "I'm sorry for Pueblo's nuisence if any was caused. I should head back home- it's awefully late," she excused herself polietly. Stepping off his porch, she walked near the tree with Pueblo in her arms and looked up. "What's gotten into you?" She scowled at the scared women. The connection of Syren's antics hadn't caughten up to her yet, only thinking she wasn't right in the head. Something had gotten to her and she was afraid of the Aerandir for some reason. But none of the Aerandir were hostile, or that she knew of.

(( Hehe.. Ieyasu mentioned Osusuki's name to Fae earlier.. right at the start before being threatened with a basket to the groin ))
Ieyasu stared at the contents of the basket. Was she seriously wanting to give him all of this...? Some of it looked as though it was rather pricey. When she came down from the tree she had disappeared up in, he would have to thank her in some way for it.
Ieyasu looked back to Fae again, nodding his head. "None at all. Don't worry about it." He grinned at her. "Have a nice night."

Staring down at Fae, she looked at the woman with such bewilderment it might make the most sane person doubt that they were they were the one acting within reason. How could she rationalize anything to this woman that would make sense? I mean, she held this... mutant thing in her arms and called HER crazy? This same creature had mauled a poor black cat!
"What's gotten into me? What ARE those things?" She clung to her branch and, eyeing the wings on Pueblo, inched up the small branch a little more.
After waiting a while and soliciting no response, she decided it was best to head home and take care of Vidya before the kitsune got some silly notion in his head of trying to return her gifts or something similarly ridiculous. Drawing in her breath and with strain of concentration causing sweat to drip down her brow, she disappeared.

((XD I knew it. I was laying in bed last night thinking...Wait...did he say his name in the Centre? ...crap. e_x xP ))
Fae's rose a brow, looking down to Pueblo, then back up at her. "Um, Pueblo's never done anything to you? She's harmless, anyways." Fae seemed mildly insulted, but wasn't the type to get angry- just the opposite. "She's an Aerandir. You know this! Think of them as a simple hybrid of a bird and mammal." She thought that over until she was complacent with her answer. Yes, that sounded good. Very good. Though, Fae knew she couldn't win this argument and merily shook her head, starting to walk away.
But she stopped. Looking over her shoulder, the words prickled on the tip of her tongue. "I wouldn't imagine a hanyou, or youkai, or whatever, fear a five or even six times smaller your size." Fae said with a teasing tone, but she wanted to see if she could get her down the tree, was all. She opened her mouth to say more but stopped and half smiled at Seyren. "Take care of yourself," she murmured, then waved a final goodnight to her, Ieyasu, and Osusuki.
Pueblo ruffled her feathers between the conversation about herself, looking confused. But something sparkled in her eyes- like she knew something Fae didn't. In Pueblo's eyes, she watched the same deformed Aerandir walk home in human skin. The owl/wolf puffed up her throat and gave a loud and echoing "Hoo!" Before she was carried back home.

And the hanyou had vanished as abruptly as she had arrived. He should probably head in as well; settle Osusuki down. Bringing a hand up under the young gryphon's chest and supporting his hindquarters with the other, Ieyasu stood up, holding Osu. He could come back for that large basket in a moment. Giving a last od to Fae, he turned to step over to the door, nudging it open with his shoulder before heading inside. He then placed Osu down gently on one of the tatami rugs before popping back out for the basket.
Osu gave a short, high pitched caw when he felt himself being lifted. He unfolded his wings before flattening them again, not used to this experience. When he was set back down again, he wasn't quite prepared to take his weight again, crouching before he stood up again. Curiously, he looked around himself, although he didn't try to take off like he had earlier.
Ieyasu had to carry the basket with both hands due to the weight. When he got it inside, he tried to set that down carefully too. There looked like there was a lot of breakable stuff inside it.

Ieyasu slipped back outside onto his porch again, a cigarette held between his index and middle finger. He didn't smoke nearly as much as he used to, but he still had a few a day. And with the newborn gryphon in the house, he would be starting to smoke outside all the time from now on.
He left the door open so he could hear if Osu woke up. The little gryphon hadn't been the quietest from the start. Sitting himself off to the side of the doorway, Ieyasu tapped the butt of the cigarette against his leg a couple of times before placing it between his lips, lighting it up.
After taking a draw on his cigarette, he took it from his mouth, holding it loosely as he stared over at the village. His expression was thoughtful as he exhaled a stream of smoke, as if he was mulling over something.

She appeared, wringing her wet hair out as she did so. This time she was on the ground near the tree she had clambored up the other day trying to escape the "vicious" Aerandir. The things she had to do gathering souls... all this hair dye was driving her crazy already. White hair ought to be a natural hair color.
Eyeing the youkai SITTING on his porch she waved and flung the wet hair over her shoulder as she approached. Being in good spirits, she thought it might be fun to visit some of the humans and kitsune of the island in an attempt to make friends.

Lost in his own thoughts (or so it seemed), Ieyasu didn't appear to notice Syrenrei at first. Then, her waving caught the corner of his eye. Glancing up, he raised his free hand, giving her a short wave.
Then he drew one knee up to his chest, glancing back briefly towards the open door. Silent still. Turning his attention back over to Syrenrei, he raised the cigarette back to his lips again. She wasn't gone for long, but he noticed that her hair was dripping. Well... she didn't seem like she was in a state again...

As she drew nearer she seemed to notice that he was smoking a cigarette, which wasn't as visable at a distance, and scowled a little lightly. "Those things will kill you." Not that she particularly minded if people wanted to hurt their own bodies, but now that she had to collect souls, she disliked it more.
Silently she sat down on the bottom step of his porch and looked towards the area he had been gazing at. If she weren't so tired perhaps she'd be enraptured by some amazing natural beauty there, but right now she just wanted to talk, drink, and sleep. She had seen enough of the world today to last a long time.

At her comment, Ieyasu glanced down briefly at the cigarette in his hand before shrugging. "Everyone used to tell me that. Used to drive me nuts. It's only a couple a day anyway. Nothing like I used to smoke."
He flicked the cigarette with his thumb, the ash from the end of it drifting down onto the wooden decking. Glancing down at Syrenrei now seated nearby, he suddenly grinned. "Now what could have killed me was that basket you nearly dropped on me. The damage you could have done to certain bits of me would have been undescribable.
He paused to take another draw on the cigarette. When he next spoke again, a cloud of smoke accompanied his words. "You didn't have to do that, you know."

She rolled her eyes at him and turned around so she could talk to him comfortably, propping one leg up on the step above her to stretch it out. "If it had smashed your groin it wouldn't kill you, just perhaps make you sterile, but not killed you. Your prostrate isn't as vital to your ability to live as say, your lungs." She paused to cough on the cigarette smoke and snatch it from him.
"I wanted to." And with that she put the cigarette to her own lips and took a long drag. Years ago she had taken up smoking as a way to calm her nerves and help her concentrate. She didn't really need it now, but...

"That's a technicality. It would have hurt far more smashing me there than smashing me in the chest."
As she snatched the cigarette from him, he stared at her, astonished."And you said WHAT about cigarettes killing you??"
After a moment he grinned, before leaning over to pluck the cigarette back from her. "Then thank you. And if you don't mind.."
