Angela was about to answer Aku by asking if he could give her powers a bit of a jump start or wake up call or something--and insult Atra somehow, when she was hit in the back by an icy blast.
She cried out as she fell forward, painful cold lancing through her body. Oh damn...not him again. She struggled to get up, looking behind her to see that grey council guy standing not to far off with a really irritating smirk on his face.
"I see you paid a heavy price for what you attempted to do to me," he told her.
He gave Atra a disdainful look. "I have no business with you but the vessel that carries you is one of our pawns. We require his presence back in our realm."
**
"It's not the time Cheeva," Des said, squeezing his eyes shut as he began to trace symbols in the air.
The two wraith worms immediately honed in on their position and headed straight for them. The only thing that saved the group was that they also noticed each other.
Food was scarce on the ethereal and they couldn't afford to compete over such a small group. The snakes attacked each other, giving Des the added seconds he needed to focus the group back into reality. The area around them began to glow and fade and a few moments later, the group appeared back in the very room they'd been in before he transported them.
A room which was now empty. "Well, Des said, looking around. I wonder where everyone buggered off to."

"Ah hell, Zensekai's outside fighting someone... I feel two large dark energies, the ones I fought with before with Angela and Zensekai... and I also feel..." Ky didn't finish her sentence, but warped them all outside to the battle.
the sky's storm brewed in the dark like always. The rain was high, and faded at the towers of the giant Castle a few dozen yards behind the group. The ground was cold, and like glass. Mist flowed far out on the flat horizon which was interrupted by a membrane up the sky. The membrane was pouring dozens of dark creatures that were once men and women onto the ground. Faces butted up against the barrier that was barely in tact.
"See, I told you women, plural! Didn't I?" Atra shook his head at Angela, and de-iced her by a swirl of his strange eyes. "And look it's your favorite cat too! She's almost as sexy as you." Atra pointed to Chee, then turned to Corvin.
"You're even more daft that he is!" Atra pointed to Des, while pretending to roll his eyes at Corvin--since he couldn't actually roll them.

Almost immediately, Akutenshi moved closer to Angela, who had been hit in the back by a spell but stood back up. She looked just about ready to collapse, so he placed his hands on her arms to help steady her and keep her standing. She was cold to the touch, though. Frowning slightly, Akutenshi said, "Here, this should help," as he let his powers radiate from his hands and into her, giving a feeling of warmth as it spread.
He watched, though, as others showed up on the scene. Bringing more people to a fight scene wasn't exactly smart, but he wasn't the one in charge of this whole thing. Thus, he kept quiet. What he did notice, was that Toshi was now holding onto Inutai. And something didn't look right.... He'd have to consult with the two of them later, after all this mess was sorted out here.

After the screaming stopped, Inutai stopped whimpering, but he still buried his head into Toshi's chest, his eyes clenched shut. This worried Toshi, but he was quickly distracted by a bunch of voices going off at once, most of them familiar. From what he could tell, Zen was fighting someone, or rather, two people. He didn't hear Zen's voice amongst the others, only Atra's. Which, to him, seemed odd.
They were outside again. He hated this, being teleported everywhere. It annoyed him, very much so. So he voiced his dislike by saying, "If you are going to teleport us away you could at least give proper warning next time."

Cheeva stumbled to her feet, looking around. The whole world had changed. Again. It was giving her a headache. She didn't like headaches. Cheeva wiped her mouth then stopped, her heart plummeting. She hadn't...surely. She couldn't have...she couldn't have...with him...and... Cheeva grabbed Des by the front of his shirt and dragged him close, knife slipping soundlessly from its sheath. "What the HELL is going on?"

Des rolled his eyes. She was as bad as Angela. Honestly, being worried about a kiss at a time like this.
"You were trapped in the ethereal plane," Des told her as he looked around. "And you were hallucinating. But given that we seem to be under attack by demon things, Zen appears to be possessed and Angela is injured, I hardly think this is the time to be threatening me with a knife over a kiss. So why don't we resolve the current crisis and you can kill me later?"
**
"Ugh," Angela groaned, squeezing her eyes shut. "Why do they always hit me with the same attack? You'd think they'd show a level of creativity or something." She leaned against Aku, much to her own chagrin. She didn't really want his help or to be near him but the warmth was nice. And he wasn't really so bad. Except for when he'd kissed her. That was annoying.
Sort of.
Anyway.
She looked at Atra. "What exactly is the next course of action?" she asked him.
** ((We can assume Corvin is using generic Magic Of Vague and Mysterious Origins. IE...I don't know how he's attacking. He's just attacking. Atra can kill him...))
Corvin looked on in annoyance as more of their pawns appeared with Ky. He remembered her from when he and his friend had attacked Zen. Though it was good to see Cheeva and Inutai there. Now that everyone was back together, it would save him the trouble of searching the ethereal for them.
"I will have them back," Corvin said. There was a swirl of red magic around him. And then he fired it at Aetra, in a rather showy, over the top attack.

(lets play with Corvin a bit, so Chee can post once or twice more before we move on) "Aw isn't that cute, kitty cat's confused!.......Creativity? Look at him, he's as thick as a rock." Atra sighed to Angela, in a creepy flirting manner. "Course of Action? Well I was going to let him think he was baddass a bit longer, before killing him. Zensekai says he doesn't disapprove so we're all good," he whispered loudly over his shoulder.
"You do realize Zensekai's one of the Powers who go by Four." Atra held up 4 fingers to Corvin, expecting he couldn't count that high. "his purpose is to unbalance everything, I don't think you could pick a worse minion... except maybe them." He pointed to Angela and the crew just as Corvin blasted power at him. Atra absorbed it like the ice magic, and chuckled.
Ky tried to comfort Cheeva to the best of her ability and Inutai as well. "Just, try not to let him scare you..." She told the boy.

((Okay. We can torment him a bit...seems like it'll be fun. )) =D
"He does seem a bit dense," Angela agreed. She snickered softly. Atra was an arse but when his idiocy was aimed at someone she didn't like, it was rather funny. She just wished he'd stop giving her those weird, flirty looks.
"Th--That's impossible!" Corvin said. "We specifically sent the beacons to find people who could help restore the balance." Though he had to admit this group of misfits had been nothing but trouble and had done nothing but spread chaos, further upsetting the balance of their realm. He narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking about the mention of four. He had no doubt Atra meant something specific but that had reminded him of something...four very troublesome people who might have attempted to interfere in their plans. He glowered at Atra.
"What do you know?" he demanded

"...I missed something, didn't I?" Basti looked around in wonder at how many people that seemed to be randomly appearing, including the remainder of the motley crew from before, accompanied by a new woman, and a man in grey who must have been one of the Morons. Plus, Zen seemed possessed by a snarky, all-powerful...thing.

Cheeva pushed Des away and hunched, drawing another knife. Breathing heavily, she surveyed the scene. A slow smile stretched her lips, revealing pointed teeth, her fingers cracked as she tightened her grip on the knife hilts. "I have no idea what's going on but I'm tired of being jerked around. Either you all explain now and I only kill one of you, or I'll do what comes natural. Namely, slaughtering you all and finding my own way out of here."

"I have not the slightest clue, either, admittedly," Toshi said to Cheeva, and turned his attention back to Inutai. He was still scared, so he was trying to comfort him the best he could.

Akutenshi, without turning around, decided to answer Cheeva's question. Pointing to Corvin, he said, "That guy wants you all to return with him somewhere to restore balance, and that guy," he said, motioning to the one who had attacked Zensekai earlier, "Wanted to kill Zensekai, or at least nearly kill him, since apparently people don't actually die here."

"I know everything." Atra bragged, while watching the others struggle in confusion. "You want an explaination? You've become the bitches of about a dozen Powers, and that's why you're confused little idiots." He proclaimed, to just about everybody, "except Akutenshi, he's actually of moderate intelligence... and so is Abdiel since he's running away."
Atra gesticulated and looked around, ignoring the pouring flood of monsters.

"You're an idiot too," Angela told Aetra. "An all knowing idiot, but an idiot nonetheless. And you're a b***h to your own boredom so I hardly think you have room to say anything." She looked at Cheeva.
"I'll explain everything when there's time, Cheeva. And if you still want to stab Des in the face afterward, I'll hold him down for you."
Des drew his sword and rolled his eyes slightly. "In the mean time, there are demons and such. They don't look like they're up for a good time so what is our next move?"

"I think I'm still missing something. Why are we on hit lists again? I mean aside from the oh-so-intelligent Grey Twelve's?" Basti followed Des' lead and drew...his knife. He didn't think it would do much, but it was probably a good idea to be prepared.

Cheeva turned very slowly to look at Corvin. "You...you're the one who dragged me out of my world then set me alight?" she started laughing, a haggard, huffing sort of laugh that seemed to chill the air. "You die."
Stabbing a knife into the ground, Cheeva reached out a hand. Blue sparks arched from her fingers toward Corvin as she stared at the man, fixing on his skeleton...

Corvin smirked slightly as Cheeva's magic bounced off of him, inflicting no damage. "You mortals are quite stubborn," he remarked. "Even though the last time you rebelled against us resulted in your near death, you still attempt to attack me. Very well Cheeva Catkin. Perhaps another lesson is order."
He flicked his hand out and a trail of fire streaked its way toward her only to be blocked by Des who had moved in front of her. The flames licked at his skin but didn't hurt him. He rapidly traced a curved symbol in the air in front of him so that when Corvin immediately switched to an ice attack, the magic bounced off his shield and was reflected back toward the caster.
Corvin canceled it out with a sharp, slashing gesture, glaring at the angry, red haired Celestial.
