Thank you very much! ^^ I'm in the process of making the underskirt [in between classes and homework and everything else] out of a white and antique white stripped fabric. So far, so good.
I also ordered a nicer petticoat [the one I made myself is all rough, unfinished edges of tulle with a lining] so hopefully the skirts will look better with the proper support.

both skirts are beauitful! I got some vertical stripe fabric (not straight stripes, striped design kinda like yours.) oh wait I have a pic and its such a tricky design to work with! I drew up a jsk kinda like your skirt. I was thinking though instead a skirt and buister so I can have both looks. I really love your skirt. that white under looks fine

Oooh. I really like that pattern. It looks like little stripes of stained glass, very nice!
The white fabric for the underskirt is actually very see-through. It's a light-weight broadcloth that I use as a light petticoat for my tighter skirts [like the military/sailor button-up from Meta] and as a way of keeping my puffier netting petticoat from scratching up my legs. I'll probably make a new one in white once I find a proper weight of material, for now I'll be using the striped fabric I have. The ruffles in back are nearly done, and I'll be sewing the rest on, soon.
After that, I'll need to sew the lining and prepare the hem ruffle and then, voila! Pretty striped underskirt for the pretty bustle skirt. This is how much is ready so far:
 Not much to it, yet, but you can see the lined ruffles. Each is about 44 inches long minus some selvage and the whole thing will be gathered up to about 13 to 14 inches [back half of my waist] with elastic and a gathered stitch combination.
And this is how it will look under the other skirt:
 There's another row of ruffles yet to be added, and then the hemming; obviously once it's evenly gathered, it'll lay better. What's nice is that from a distance it looks entirely antique white instead of striped, which matches the blouse I have nicely.
And a detail of the two together:
 Everything is all nice and neatly lined! Makes the fabric feel so much nicer that way.

I saw that fabric you have at the store yesterday, Cloudy. I was so incredibly tempted to buy it, but had already picked out several other fabrics. So.
I'm going to wait on it. If it's there later this month, I might buy some for a skirt and matching bag. It's a lot heavier in person than I expected, though.

vkeefreecupcakes That 2nd Skirt is one of the loveliest I've laid my eyes on! it's so beautiful! and that white underskirt! wow!!! is it sort of pleated?? how did you do that? The under skirt is actually a skirt I made for another outfit which was a long tunic-top and that skirt underneath. The ruffles are pleated, yes, and the back-ruffle is just left over scraps pinned in place for the sake of the photos. I made another ruffled-back skirt, but it's too heavy and doen't ... look right, so I'm redoing part of it.
Gekkani-Neko: Thank you! I've been meaning to add more embellishment to that skirt, actually. It's just hanging in my closet right now. o_o;;

You guys know how to sew so well. I'm jealous. My new goal is to make something cool and post it here. First, I need to learn how to sew. xd
