(OOC: That's fine by me. I mean...it's not like she's here anymore. We could always have something go wrong with her amulet, like a glitch, and poof! She's gone and you're there. xd ))
*Shuichi looks to Bryce and Daewyn, eyes gleaming with his newfound idea*
It's easy as pie, guys! All we gotta do is combine our powers. Bryce, you conjure up a big windstorm. Daewyn, you add some chunks of rock to it. And I'll freeze the whole thing with my magic...well...after I find the spell in my spellbook. sweatdrop
*Bryce looks at him, interested.*
So you're saying we make a blizzard? Well that makes sense. Ifrit hasn't exactly packed a winter coat.
*He looks to Daewyn*
Can you handle both the blizzard and the rock cage? Or are we gonna have to do this real quick?

Daewyn grinned happily, relieved that they had finally come up with a plan, and nodded enthusiastically. "I don't have to hold the rocks there, it just takes energy to move them! As long as he doesn't start to crack through the cage we should be fine."
Wait child, you're forgetting something, Terra warned. You've already moved a large amount of bedrock from this area, if you move too much more the earth itself could start to cave in. You need to draw the stone from farther away. If you don't all three of you could get trapped in a huge landslide...
Daewyn gulped and nodded, then looked over to the other two, nervously. "We might wanna hurry afterall... Terra said that moving all those rocks to create that cage is gonna make the ground slide around... or something like that. Basically we could get trapped... but if we move further back and I pull some rocks from away from here, we'll be ok. Are you guys ready?"
The impish grin of delight resurfaced on Daewyn's face. A naive confidence assured her that everything was going to work out, so no doubt could have a lasting effect on her mood. She focused her energy outwards, lifting boulders and various sized debris from the surrounding area, directing them to the imprisoned demon. When she had gathered enough, she held them there, sweat beading on her forehead as she waited as the abilities of the other two already started to coallesce with her own.

Kaede OOC: Hi guys, I'm the Kaede person. I'm working on catching up on what's going on right now, but I don't want to know too much about characters because then'd I'd feel like I was meta-gamin sweatdrop . I was wondering how you guys would feel about strategically killing off Phey and letting me insert a new character to take their place. I don't want to throw the rp off kelter much, so I thought I'd try and get your guys input, be it in here or the general chat area. Thanks, and hope to hear back from everyone. OOC: I don't mind the idea: Just make sure I get her weaponry. 3nodding I *think* her character still has the 5.7mm I lent her IC. IC:
*Baikasu finally gets close to the battle, and continues around the fray to avoid Ifrit's gaze. Still with a limp from the injury in his leg, he moves around the battle slowly and keeps his head down, lest Ifrit realizes that a projectile fireball would easily do him in. He's making his way towards Shuichi, who Baikasu hopes is capable of mending his injured leg. By this point, he just heard their plan, and finally approaches Shuichi's side.*
Baikasu:Where do I come in?
*He crouches down by the closest tree, putting all his weight on his good leg.*OOC: I posted! *GASP!*

Okay...implementing operation...er...yeah... sweatdrop
But okay...I'm really out of character on Nida...*sighs*
IC:
She had to think of something fast. It wasn't like her to panic in such a situation like this, but being bombarded with shards of glass and earthquake wasn't a very good situation to be in. Naoko clenched her teeth as another shard ripped through her right thigh, as she focused on getting in a stable position. She had an idea on what to do, but it also meant that it would endanger their lives if it wasn't done right.
"Nida, can you ask Xachta to see if she can at least melt through this glass?" she shouted over the noise.
The poison bearer tried to stand her ground, feeling dizzy from just the tremors ripping through the hall.
"I think so!" she replied back.
"Then have her melt it!" Naoko ordered. "NOW!"
Nida's body convulsed as Xachta re-entered in her body. A green liquid spread across the mirrored floor, burning it off and revealing a hole that sent the three women spiraling down into a pit with some more shards following them. Naoko sheathed Shinken and quickly took off her cloak, wrapping it around her arm as they fell.
"Phey, Nida, grab on!" she told them as her eyes faded into a black abyss, calling out the Void to extend its reach to her cloak.
Nida, being closest to the Mistress of Void, grabbed onto the cloth as Naoko used her other hand to grab onto the side of the pit that she knew was a ledge that led to another room. Nida turned around to grab Phey, but in the mild darkness, and the slightly blurry vision she had because of Xachta, caused the dancer to only grab hold of the fox girl's leg. The thin fabric of her shorts ripped through, sending Phey further down into the pit. Naoko and Nida watched in horror as their comrade fell to an impending death.
"PHEY!!"
All that Nida had in her hands was a piece of fabric from Phey's shorts and the amulet that she had once possessed as the fire bearer.

The wind energy that surrounds this place is incredible...it's no wonder my mother gave me this amulet and sent me to Tuvidal for school...
That's right, Bryce. The temple awaits us, as does Dante. And we can't forget Layla. But enough reminiscing. It's time to take care of Ifrit.
Right...
*Closing his eyes in concentration, Bryce felt the wind energy surrounding him through Narya. He began to focus it into his hands, bringing them in front of him. As the wind became more intense, it swirled around his body, causing his cloak to flutter and sway. Once he had gathered up enough of it, he signaled to the others that he was ready.*
*Meanwhile, Shuichi is busy flipping through the pages of his spellbook.*
If only I could find it! I know there's an ice spell strong enough in here somewhere!
*He jumps suddenly as a voice comes from right beside him*
Baikasu:Where do I come in?
Oh goodness...it's only you Baikasu. You startled me. Well, let's see...I think our blizzard should be enough to distract him, as well as weaken him. You should probably get behind him and attack from there with whatever you feel is necessary (ammunition, etc). Or you could always bring in some lightning with the ice...I'll leave that up to you. Anyways...I'm sorry to be rude, but I have to find this spell!
*Shuichi continues flipping frantically for another minute before...*
FINALLY! Here it is! Okay, I'm ready guys!
It's about time...do you realize the others have been waiting for almost five minutes? You really should make a table of contents or something...
*He becomes red in the face, but quickly brushes it off and begins chanting the words to combine the wind and rock into an ice storm.*
Gotta make up for lost time...

Baikasu: I can't do anything besides add to the spell at the moment, so I'll do that.
*Baikasu then closes his eyes, and stops the shock-therapy. He wasn't being affected by it as much anymore anyway. He then begins to concentrate on adding electrical curent into the mix. He gathers up some energy, and opens his eyes.*
Shuichi: FINALLY! Here it is! Okay, I'm ready guys!
Baikasu: So am I.
*Baikasu stands, still keepnig weight on his good leg. He then raises his arm, and aims his hand at Irfit, fingers outstreched. He let's loose a strong electrical surge from his hand, which travels towards Ifrit, as well as surging through the ice and snow in the blizzard. As the lightning reaches the ice and snow, it electrically charges them rather than melting them. As it's a magical attack. Ifrit is now being elesctrocuted by both a sustained lightning bolt and electrically charged cold stuff, which wouldn't be physically possible if it weren't magical in nature, and being controlled properly.*
*As for Baikasu, he is still undergoing massive amount of pain, as he is still affected by his own element. He's built up an immunity, but it will still be a while until he's immune to it... let alone absorbing electricity for use.*
Baikasu: Shu, I don't know how long I can sustain this!

Daewyn watched as the blizzard pummelled the ifrit mercilessly. It tried to break free of its prison, smashing fiery fists desperately at the rock spires surrounding it, but the bedrock, though taking some damage, held strong. Periodically feeding new rock and boulders into the electrified blizzard, Daewyn waited with baited breath until, after what seemed like an eternity, the mighty beast collapsed heaving to the ground. Daewyn took a tentative step in its direction.
"Is it... dead?" she asked hesitantly. A sudden move from the prone body caused the child to jump back instinctively.
You are truely brave, young warriors. If ever you need my assistance, I am at your command.
With that a haze of red light washed over the titan and when it dissipated, the bars of bedrock were empty, save from frozen chunks of ice. Daewyn darted her eyes around, but could see no trace of any other enemies. "What on earth was that?!" she demanded, looking over to Bryce expectantly.

That's quite odd...a spirit offering up his powers...almost sounds as if he was a guardian...
Perhaps he once was. Or maybe he's just a different type of one? There are some of us that do not reside in amulets.
Hmm. That's an interesting thought.
"What on earth was that?!", Daewyn demanded.
Well, to be honest, I have no idea. Narya says that Ifrit could be a guardian, but a different type. I suppose he'd be a "summon" type of guardian? Do any of the other amulets have other information to give?
*Bryce looks to Shuichi and Baikasu*
Uhh...lemme check my spellbook for summons!
*Shuichi drops to the ground with his book, flipping frantically through pages*

((OOC: Wow, has it ever been a while. neutral I finally managed to get through the whole thing - I reread from the beginning, so it took quite a bit. Thank goodness for a fussy infant giving me an excuse to be up all night. rolleyes
Okay, since everyone else seems to be slowly bringing this thing back to life, I'm gonna put on my Nida hat and reenter the fray.))
Gone.
While Nida hadn't been with the party overly long - hell, a couple weeks, and that was being generous - she'd gotten used to the interplay and teamwork. Even if Phey was taciturn, she was still present, a face at the campfire. Besides, it was hard not to notice that fox tail. Not that Nida was in the market for romance or anything, but she sort of went in for foxy things. Y'know, that alluring, hooded gaze foxgirls tend to have and whatnot. Rowr.
And now... gone.
Nida squeezed her eyes shut, screened off the oozy film. She hadn't been able to truly contact Xachta; the strange barrier of the place was still active... but she had at least managed to control a little of the amulet's effects through sheer force of will. Now all she wanted was to summon up a cocoon of goo to shield her, hide her from the sudden intrusion of death. She was sure it was death; there was a certain finality inherent in Phey's amulet lying in her hand. She had a childlike notion, illogical as it might seem, that if rescue were possible, or if Phey could get out on her own, then of course the amulet would have remained with her.
She wasn't in shock yet, but she knew it would eventually hit her. She prayed that the party would be safe and stable when it happened; she didn't want to impose any more than necessary. With a mental start, she realized that her mercenary intent for joining up with the group - safety in numbers - had begun to melt, revealing the spark of vengeance for her ruined home, revealing a bit of spine, revealing that, whether Xachta wanted to put its eggs in her basket or not, she was sticking this through until the end.
Or until her end. As had just been demonstrated, safety in numbers no longer applied anyway.
All this introspection took less than a second. The mind is not subject to the irascible beat of time, especially not in the face of death and under the influence of epinephrine.
"PHEEEYYYY!!!"

Okay, posting something!! It's short...but my brain's a bit fried right now...
IC:
Gripping onto the ledge for dear life, Naoko began to muster the strength she needed to pull her and Nida up. She only hoped that her cloak wouldn't rip and Nida, too, would fall to her death.
Inch by inch. It was literally mind over body. She had to get them up. Even if her muscles were screaming for rest, she had to keep on pulling up. Blood and sweat dripped from her arm onto her face. She blinked them away.
Moreover, she needed to pull Nida up.
"Whatever you do, don't move, Nida," she warned the Poison bearer as she began to steady herself on the solid rock wall and precariously balancing her grip on the cloak and Nida. "I'm going to pull you up first. When you get to the ledge grab it as fast as you can."
It was easier said than done, really. Naoko cursed to herself for not realizing that she was injured more than she thought she was. However, the fact that there could be another earthquake in this area was a far greater danger to them than a loss of concentration.
As the arm holding the cloak continued to pull up, Naoko concentrated on keeping her other arm tight onto the ledge as Nida was near to her height now.
Inch by inch.
