"Yeah... He's typically the violent guy. Although, seeing him now, it's kind of hard to believe I even tried to attack him during that last battle in October."
She tilted her head as the band started to play something to make up for the chaos that the CD player had brought. It seemed...tranquil enough. Something had to fit the winter theme after all.
Ed glanced at a piece of holly and squinted, wondering if something was off with the image. She tried to resist the urge in her legs to move onto the dance floor, but she was rarely one to be idle in this sort of environment.

After a few moments, Kishuna spread his arms, giving up, and moved out of the way. Well, that wasn't any fun. He was planning to mess with that guy in all kinds of ways, and now he couldn't. Well, at least the guy had shut up, and that was a plus. But now, the morph was bored. He didn't know anybody here, and of course the girls were all taken. But hey, he was a morph, anyway. So in the way of relationships here he was pretty much screwed. He cracked a grin anyway, though. Hey. It was social interaction again, for the first time in, what, almost thirty years now? He'd been a little dead before that, so that didn't count.

"It's... a long story," he sighed, slowly reaching out to take Ninian in his arms, entwining his fingers with hers as he slipped one arm around her waist. "Other hand on my shoulder-- like that," he murmured, slowly leading her as he sighed. "I knew that the guy I got it from had used it that way. I should have checked it out or something, I didn't realize that the magic was in the flute, I thought it was in the player... Its last owner used it to kidnap children... I killed him... thought it would be a nice present for Nils, I never realized..." He sighed. "I swear, I never meant to place a dark artifact in his hands."

Ninian let Siegell take her in his arms, leading her as they danced, placing a hand on his shoulder as he showed her how. She listened silently as he spoke.
". . . I believe you," she said softly when he finished. "I know that you are a killer, but even so, I believe you. Maybe that's foolish of me, but I do." She blushed, lowering her head again. "That was very thoughtful of you."

Valter chuckled at Ed's last statement.
Then he heard what the band was playing. Well, this is what you hoped for... The wyvern knight thought. Now you just have to ask her.
"Umm... Do you... Suppose we should... Dance?"

Siegell sighed quietly, gently rubbing Ninian's back as he danced with her. "I'm sure he's in a foul mood now, no doubt he was displeased when he saw us dancing... maybe I should wait and talk to him in the morning, when he's had some time to cool off." Siegell had seen that dragonstone in action. He wasn't about to underestimate the little bard. "I really should get to sleep soon, I am..." He chuckled and yawned, "Just a little bit tired after dealing with those bandits last night... flying back here in time for the party." He smiled, dancing to the edge of the floor with her, and released her.
He took her hand in one of his and lifted it, kissing it again as he bowed. "Good night, miss Ninian," he murmured, "And have a pleasant tomorrow."

Ed was vaguely nodding along as Valter eked out his sentence. On the last word, she snapped to awareness.
Her lips parted in an attempt to let sound through, but Ed had lost her voice somewhere. Dance? Her? Valter? What? Though her face was red, she certainly didn't mean to reject the guy.
But... Her! Ed! With someone? Especially scary wyvern knight with a scary reputation?
Actually, he has a soft side. Like a teddy bear. You know. Aw, come on. Comparing Valter to a teddy bear's kind of out there.
"Well, um, uh... Well. Er."
Ed tried to repress the blushing. She was normally good with people, but she figured she wouldn't... Don't freak out. It's just part of the party, and he's a nice guy. So go with it.
Ed breathed deeply and turned to the knight. "Sure. A dance sounds great."

Ninian smiled at Siegell.
"Yes, it is getting late," she said. "Good night, Siegell, and thank you . . . for dancing with me."
Really, he wasn't so bad at all. And dancing with him . . . she had enjoyed it in the end.

For a few agonizing moments, it seemed as if she would say no. Valter was about to tell her to just forget he ever said anything when she turned to him and accepted.
The wyvern knight let out a sigh of relief. "Alright... so, uhh... I just put my hands here, and... uhh..." Valter said with obvious nervousness in his voice.

"It seems that some people here are just a bit reluctant...and I should really stop talking to myself."

Ninian sighed and then walked out of the library and back to her room. Tonight had been . . . eventful to say the least, but it had also been fun, the most fun she'd had in a long time.
The half-dragon fell asleep smiling for the first time since she'd come to Learania.

Ed noticed that Siegell and Ninian had just finished dancing. She'd seen a few dancing beforehand, and thought they should be able to pull this off. She wasn't much of a dancer herself, but she also wasn't a klutz.
"Right," she replied, positioning her hands as she should, "and when the time's right, we pace at one, two, three, one, two, three... You lead, step forward with the left, step to the right, back with the right, then we rotate slightly back to your left..."
Perhaps she was mostly mumbling directions to herself, but it would help keep their steps in check. It helped that Ed was observant with this stuff.
With Valter, she danced her way to the midst of the floor.

"I'm quite tolerant of alcohol, Kaoru." Fire Dragon explained. He then poured a glass of water for Nils.
"If you say so," Nils replied, taking the drink, "I just don't want you to pass out or anything." He gave a concerned smile, followed by a yawn. "I suppose it's getting late. We'd better get going, Hikaru."
"...Right." Fire Dragon said, simultaneously gasping for breath after finishing yet another martini. "This party will probably still be going tomorrow anyway."
And so the two went off in search of beds (or one bed, you never know wink )
(Buenas Noches, people)

Valter carefully memorized the directions that Ed was telling him. "Alright, I think I've got it..."
A few minutes after they started, Valter found that he was suprising himself. This isn't as hard as I thought it would be... He said to himself.

Ed was quiet — awkwardly quiet, though their dance was nowhere near awkward. She kept in rhythm with the music, trying to keep her focus on her partner, although it meant fighting down a blush when she looked at Valter.
It was not...normal to Ed, but it was okay. There was nothing wrong with dancing with a friend. Or someone you're coming to like more than you'd give credit for.
Sometimes it was nice to be proven wrong. Ed had always thought she'd be something of a loner.
"Ha, I'm surprised we haven't tripped over ourselves," the girl finally managed to say. "I guess it's not so surprising from two warriors when it's about coordination. Fighting is a dance of its own, after all."
