Ours has been determined to be a girl.
So she'll be named Isabella.
I always make very very sure the Ultrasound technician gets a DAMN good picture. And well both times now it's been like the kid was sitting open legged on a xerox machine and you can CLEARLY make out all the girly bits (labia, etc.) and there is nothing sticking out. The doc he said he's 99 percent sure it's a girl said he'd NEVER tell anyone 100 percent but this one looks CLEARLY to be a girl.
I don't mind having all girly stuff and it coming out to be a boy. I think THAT would be a MAJOR surprise.
I will tell you all that I am like THE NUMBER ONE proof that all those old wives tales are bunk. I was WAY more sick and tired (heck I still throw up in the morning about every three days or so) I'm carrying way out front and way low (last time I carried high and all around the sides), My face was/is breaking out all over I have melasma on both my hands and face if I'm in the sun for a split second where I was just fine the first time around and had that pregnant glow about me.
Everyone told me, oh since the pregnancy is different, or because I'm carrying so low it HAS to be a boy, plain and simple. Wrong. Every single pregnancy is different. period.

Congrats on having a girl, Nopen! biggrin Isabella must be a popular name right now. A friend of mine whose baby is due at the beginning of November is naming her Isabella as well. It's a very pretty name.

It''s crazy how people will stick by those wives'' tales too.
How are our pregnant mommas doing?

I'm doing well. I had a doctor's appointment today and found out that I'm fingertip dialated which basically means nothing.
Yeah, my mom swears she predicts what people are having by the way they are carrying. However, I've heard her backtrack when there's a hint she might be wrong. When she is proven wrong she tells what she should have seen using the old wives' tales that she missed when she made her prediction. It's kind of funny.

Just checking in to see how everyone's doing.
I'm still a member of this thread. Hopefully it won't be too long until I graduate. I still have quite a bit I'd like to get done around my place before Boo comes though.

I'm only in my 23rd week...So I have a long time left....I'm doing it by myself though as of right now...it doesn't seem like such a joy at times. I'm some what of a high risk so I have been going into the ob's office every two weeks since I found out I was pregnant. gonk I had an ultra sound a couple weeks ago and the tech said she was pretty sure it was a girl I'm keeping my fingers crossed because that's what we really want. I have another ultrasound in a week so hopefully nothing has changed.
I was just wondering if any of the other preggers have been put on any high blood pressure medications..and if so what kind?

Monkey, I can't give you any advice. I'm been fortunate enough to have a pretty uneventful pregnancy. I hope everything goes well for you.
I just looked at the TTC thread and we have another new member of this thread. biggrin

As you start to put on some weight, is it normal for your back to ache?

It's normal for your back to ache regardless of whether you put on weight (I've lost 13 lbs). Because the baby pulls your spine into a wonderful S-shape, spreads your hips apart, pushes your knees together, etc.

Heh, thanks. I'm slightly worried about all the pressure my backpack places on my back too, since my back and legs are tired and sore. I hope everything's going well with yours!! heart

XD I believe I'd be one of the new members of the thread. -waves-
Things are going well here. Having healthy food cravings for the first time ever, can't stomach a lot of sugar so being 'bad' has been easily avoided, not getting sick from my pre-natals, and I'm getting to bed before midnight every night which is a first.
It's been a crazy week.
I'm somewhere between 3-5 weeks along and hopefully after my first appointment on the 17th, I'll have a more definite ETA. Based on my last cycle it's May 23, but based on when I think I ovulated, it's more like 2 weeks later. ;] Can't wait to see if I was right.
But as for lower back aches, I'm already starting to notice them [stiffness is more appropriate a word for it] and my hips being a bit tender. I'm totally having that first pregnancy over-sensitivity to everything happening in my abdomen right now. It's such a weird feeling to be so aware of every little thing. o_o I just sit there going, "now what is THAT?"

You know if every pregnancy is just going to get worse for me, I'm glad we've decided to stop at two.
*Ushered in the first day of my third trimester with puking *Hit 27 weeks (90% + viability) puking. William asked me if something was wrong and I practically started crying, I was like "I'm not SICK you idiot, I'm FREAKING PREGNANT!!!" *Back pain induced sinus headaches, which also seem to be related to low blood sugar though I can't seem to solve them permanantly any one way. However, I don't get them all the time or with any other symptoms to warrant concern. *Sciatica is back...WITH AVENGENANCE!
Dude, it is so time for this to be over.

Welcome to the thread, Dirge! biggrin Tetravus was the one of the two of us who noticed everything changing in my abdomen. I, however, noticed the changes in my breasts. Before I was showing they looked huge to me since I'd been used to A cups. blaugh Now they don't look that big compared to my belly.
*hugs Nopen* You're more than entitled to whine with all that pregnancy yuckiness! I hope you feel a little better soon. At least you're in the 3rd trimester now!
I just realized that I'm in the single digits in my countdown to Boo's EDD-8 days! mrgreen
