I brushed the point of Scarlet's scythe aside and grabbed Scotts by the shoulder, "You did....what for what reason exactly? I know I have been out of the loop for a long time but is it THAT bad lately? Come on I've never known you to try and pull that kind of trick, your a good man, dont mess that up!" I shook my head at him disapprovingly. "So, Scarlet, what did he do? Details if you will."

Sensing the Scarlet's emotion I took a step towards her and flourish my staff, bringing it down with a crack and a flash of yellow light that made them shrink back, "Don't even think about it,' I pointed at Scotts, "He is still your king." It succesfully drew the demons attention away, they looked revelently at Scotts, obliviouse to us now, "Scotts, its the government isn't it?" The damn government was causing all teh problems of late, more people where dieing than in most wars, human progression into the wilds was on the rise, but most importantly, they made Scarlet think me dead, they would know my wrath. It was only after I growled that last part with a snarl I realised I had said all that outloud, but I didn't care, I was angry, so waht if they knew it?

I looked at her questionably and felt my forehead, which she seemed to be looking at, and bumbed into a nice budding rack of antlers, it was only then I realised I must look strange, a deathbringer with antlers and a staff of life...what a strange picture I must be, "Oh....well I've kind of been studieing....with the druids. When you last told me about your protection of the city, I knew I had to find something to protect myself, and you kind of got the city covered, which by the way is NOT going to keep destroying the forest under my watch, that forest on the cities eastern side is under my protection now, no fooling around with it." I already felt an odd need to protect my new domain, it was chosen mostly for the fact I already lived there, conveniently with my cave being near the center.

To make sure he didnt do that again I tapped the ground with my staff, thick vines shot out of the ground and lashed onto Scotts feet before he could move, "Don't you try to run away young man!" My voice dripped sarcasm, I was getting good at that, I turned back to Scarlet, Scotts wasn't the most important matter at hand, my face was grave, something I never usualy did, "Scarlet....we where able to take down your father, you and me....and a little divine intervention by Scotts...but how do we take down an enemy as large and powerful as to rule the entire world, we had so much reinforcment in that fight.....do we realy have all of that now?" My heart ached for what was, a truer, juster world, now there where gangs, stealing, and what made me almost as angry as what happened to my love, human kind was raping the natural lands, they wherent sharring as they where before, they where destroying it with no care, and the goverment was leading it, my grip on my staff was white-knuckled, "Damn humans lost all of their honor and decency, this world is corrupt.......is there any force great enough to mend it?" Again, my anger got the better of me, what was meant to be a thought was an angry mutter loud enoguh for anyone to hear.

I stared at her sideways, "I don't plan on being the hero this time, and I certainly dont want to take command again.....I don't ever want all those lives on my concsiouse again, I can deal with the deaths I caused but not anymore than absolutely necessary." I sighed, even as an immortal I ould feel the weight of my age on me as though it was anything but mental. "Let the younger generation have some of their own heroes." It was strange, I never felt like that before but I suddenly just wanted to take it slow, atleast for a little while...

Glowing blades where nothing new to me, "I never said I wouldn't fight...but I won't play the part of a hero...not again....not yet atleast." My wound still felt fresh, even though I got it 200 years ago, playing a hero got me love....and when I tried it again.....I lost that love, the best thing that had ever happened to me. My mental barrier broke, the sorrow overflowing across the link, I jumped backwards through a portal as fast as I could, from as far away as the stronghold she wouldn't be able to feel it. I took a deep shuddering breathe and went to get outfitted with druid equipment. My heart heavy, I kept walking, SHOULD I play hero again? It would help get me closer to Scarlet....but she had changed so...it hurt being around her, every second a battle. But so was every second apart.

In a whisper almost too low to hear I told her, "No" I pulled out the large black and red dotted egg, it was to be my future familiar, as tradition the durid elders picked it out on what they had seen of me, as in a fiery personality, I didnt know what it was but I knew how to care for an egg, I strapped it on my back amid the rustling cape of leaves, if I held it infront of me while in a tree I would all but dissapear. I frowned at myelf, I was trying to ignore Scarlet my examining details like a child. I opened my mouth and she looked at me expectantly, "Scarlet I--.....I-...I don't know, everything, the world....you...."I said the last in a whisper almost quieter than the 'no' "it's changed so much....the world I grew up in was so different from this one, a hollow shell of what it was it seems, the goodness has gone into hidding, and it would take ten years for nature to even start taking back all of the cities if every human dissapeared immideatly....it's so much to handle....I can't do it....not again..." I realised I was silently crying, my home....my friends....it was all dead and buried under this horrible place.
