Moira slid into the Great Hall, her dress whispering against the stone floor. She stopped just beyond the entrance in awe, taking in the absolute beauty of the room. It was beyond anything she had seen, of late at least, and it nearly brought tears to her eyes. A mistletoe fairy darted past her face, chasing her next victim, and brought Moira back to the present. Her red hair was pulled to a soft bun at the nape of her neck, with a few stray curls around her face. She never could tame them all completely. Gazing around for a friendly face, Moira made her way deeper into the Hall.

"Oh, Joel's doing?" Vlaityn cocked and eyebrow and grinned slightly. "It seems like something Joel could do. But then again, you are very intelligent. And being such an intellectual force, perhaps you did do it, and you're just trying to pin it on Joel. Yes, it's plausible." Vlaityn nodded seriously while trying to give Sezer a look of extreme scrutiny.

Which didn't quite work for she found herself melting into a smile a utter adoration while gazing at him. A bad habit, by all means. And slightly odd. Vlaityn turned a light shade of red,m catching herself in the very act.

Sezer dipped his head once, his smirking growing appreciatively all the wider as she went on speaking. "Oh, fooey. You've discovered me." He played along, his eyes twinkling, laughter threatening to bubble out of his throat. "How did you know? I thought I hid my tracks fairly well. Let's see, I covered up the footprints, I wore gloves, I destroyed the bottles..." He continued to rant about his "crime", "You didn't happen to study forensics in the States, did you?"

He grinned at her in what he quite imagined to be a charming fashion, though he would never admit it, far too lost in her eyes without a map to notice the slight reddening of her face. Sezer was, of course, instructed by the pool of knowledge he fondly referred to as 'his mind', speaking of the muggle pick up line he'd heard, though it worked for magic folk alike, as well, 'Do you have a map? I got lost in your eyes.'

After what Louise assumed Adele thought was a dramatic or dignified silence, she turned away with a bitter smile on her face. Scanning the room again for Anasazi, who had run off so frightened like a small startled deer fawn, she repressed disappointment when she noticed the Hufflepuff was now dancing with a seventh-year. Kanita, of her own House; Louise dripped sadness and sarcasm that threatened most dangerously to pour out of herself. At least everyone else is having a good time tonight. It almost sounded like a question in her mind, if silent to everyone else around. Faux-happiness caused her strained smile to become almost a leer, much to Louise's chagrin.

Nobody paid any attention as she decided to slip out of the dance, trying to be inconspicuous. Swaying and moving her shoulders back and forth allowed her to wiggle through the throbbing floor of dancers as she approached the exit, sweeping past Anasazi and Kanita without a single glance or a choice salutation. The library would most likely offer her more comfort than the strained conversation and fake friends she was trying to make here, anyway. Without a thought of Anasazi or Adele, she rubbed the reddening heel of her foot with the toe of her other high-heeled sandal before finally gasping in air after exiting the Great Hall. She hadn't realized how much colder the night would be outside the throng. "But that's perfectly all right," she said to herself with a wistful smile that was replaced by an expressionless sigh.

With a mock attempt at trying to look indignant, Vlaityn discretely put her index finger up to her mouth, wordlessly shush-ing Sezer; almost a scold of types.

"Ah ah ah! Shame! You know I can't just tell about the secret life I led in Michigan. Maybe that tame you visited, the fairly normal life I seemed to lead was a front." She cooed mysteriously before cracking a grin. "Somewhat normal life. You know, as normal as it get's for me." Vlaityn trilled slightly, reliving a few of the moments she quickly recalled of Sezer's visit in her head. A grand time, by all means.

"But really. I could tell it was you from a mile away." Mock seriousness again, as she prodded Sezer in the shoulder, as if proving herself to be correct.

Sezer's eyes positively sparkled with fondness for this young lady, watching her hand gesticulations and hearing her words with grand amusement.

'Michigan. I'll remember that.' He smiled at her, willing to play along with her game. "Oh, dear, forgive me. I do so forget things sometimes. I suppose this brain can only hold so much. I imagine it's rather full, don't you? Much too much school rubbish. But of course," he pretended to come to a great realization, "I knew everything was too perfect. The women were too beautiful, the men too polite. Why, even Joel was in on it. If I recall correctly, and I always do, as you know, he didn't do anything appropriate." He responded, now thoroughly amused.

"I'm positive you could. You are quite brilliant, after all. The smartest sixth year I've ever met." What was it with him tonight? Not only verbally, he was handing her compliments left and right, and though he was rather unsure as to how that was making her feel, judging by the way her face lit up, it couldn't have been an entirely bad thing. Then, of course, he felt the constant need to touch her. Her hand, for example, he had the strongest impulse to grasp it within his own. However, known for his immense self-control, he did no such thing. If only he knew.

Nodding solemnly at Sezer saying his head was too full, Vlaityn could only readily agree. "I don't think you full understand how dire this is, Sezer. Hell, we may need to have you grow another head so you can more accurately sift your information. I was thinking, you know, academia in Head 1, personal in Head 2." She raised her eyebrows skeptically and continued to nod, as if agreeing with herself. "Of course, if Head 1 and 2 is too...Seuss-ish for you, we can think of real names. Like Ted."

Vlaityn considered keeping the joke up until Sezer started praising her again, which made her brow furrow slightly, more out of confusion than anything. "Ach, nein. You were the smartest sixth year to grace these halls in quite awhile, dear. How easily you forget!" She had started to flick her wrist involuntarily, nervous at the compliments Sezer kept handing out.

Sezer, quite adept at "studying" Vlaityn, was interested at the seemingly involuntary movement of her wrist. His right brow rose fractionally, concern flashing very briefly across his face. And then he began to furiously contemplate it, wondering what he'd done. (Because it wasn't possible for any other problematic person, of course) It was then that it hit him, after his brain had nearly caught fire from working so quickly, she was nervous. No. More correctly, he was making her nervous with all the compliments. And though everyone of them were completely true and honest, he needed to stop. Oh, what a difficult task this would be.

He offered her a what he hoped was a rather reassuring, comforting smile, though so focused on his task was he that he forgot what he wanted to comfort her about for the briefest of moments. "Looks like the dance is winding down." He commented offhandedly, running a hand through his blond-brown hair in a slighlty exasperated fashion.

Taking the empty space in their conversation as a slight, albeit awkward, break, Vlaityn let her eye dart about nervously through the hall. All the people, just talking talking talking and dancing and socializing and flirting and drinking.

Vlaityn had to close her eyes for a moment to relieve the pressure of them. They were somewhat haunting to her, things that she wasn't. Personable, graceful, fluid, appealing, happy. But she had Sezer, which was more than enough. But she didn't deserve him. So she wouldn't be able to keep him. Right? Maybe?

A wonderfully attractive and fluid voice snapped her back to the dance, or what was left of it. "Oh, yes. So it seems." Vlaityn thought for a moment quietly. "I'd rather it nor end. Though the dancing was not our thing." She grinned in a more confident manner. What Vlaityn mean was she wanted the dance to end soon, but leaving Sezer for the night would hurt.

Sezer adeptly watched the slight emotions flash across her face with interest. And it was then that for perhaps the fortieth time that night (the number would've been exact, but I'm afraid he lost count at thirty-seven) that he noticed how beautiful she was. And, while he had to reel in his tongue to refrain from telling her this and complimenting her again, there by causing her to become uncomfortable, he couldn't help but marvel at the way the starlight played on her dark curls and the way the elegance of her gown reflected and complimented her gorgeous eyes.

He took Vlaityn's own pause a breathing point, and he briefly took off his glasses, his "heart gray" eyes completely visible for the first time that year (or so he assumed) as he'd always taken to polishing his eye wear in the dark of his fourposter late at night after his nightly hourly studying sessions, or had every intention to do so when it was in fact quite possible to see them but another matter more important had come up. He smiled at her again, finding it interesting that his eyes, without glasses, seemed to be somehow more detail-oriented. He put them back on shortly, blinking quickly to regain his focus.

And then, of course, he just had to notice something else wonderful about her. In particular did he notice the attractive slant of her lips and their peculiar, alluring color. For the first time in his usually book-oriented life he thought about kissing. Just then, as he began to picture the scene in his commonly perfectly pristine mind, a pleasant voice snapped him out of his own reverie. He chuckled absently, working rather desperately to focus on something other than the appealing facial features of his new girlfriend. "No, I suppose it wasn't. But we managed. And there were worse couples. Why, some didn't even get the pleasure of dancing at all. We should count ourselves lucky, I reckon."

Vlaityn flashed a timid, faltering grin at Sezer's encouragement of the movement they had been passing off as dancing earlier. Truth be told, Vlaityn herself hadn't seen anyone worse than them. But maybe the fact it was them somehow made it passable. Somehow.

"Well, I suppose if I look at the pros. I didn't trip and drag you down with me. No broken bones. No black eyes. No domino effects of people falling because of a slip up. I can count it a success, I suppose." A voice in the back of Vlaityn mind quipped that they should stick to what they were good at then. Reading, perhaps. Talking in circles. Less frivolous and romantic things.

"Consider the night quite clearly seized." Vlaityn grinned ironically at the thought. Seizing a day [or night for that matter] sounded adventurous. Not just a small dance and walk outside. But still. It was perfect to Vlaityn. Nothing could make it better.

Although she found herself absorbing Sezer with her eyes again. Damn his eyes, for that matter. Oh, that gray.

'Nobody should have eyes that alluring and capturing.'

Sezer, bravely and gentlemanly trying to expel the thoughts of kissing Vlaityn from her mind, managed a rather distracted smile at her response. "I thought I'd mess up, truthfully. I'm not exactly the most graceful sort. I trust you recall the incident in the Great Hall near the beginning of term? I did fall of the table, you know." And wasn't that so like him? To point out his own faults not only to himself but to anyone who happened to be around. It was one of the disadvantages to have such a calculating and rather omniscient mind such as his.

"Carpe diem." He spoke flawlessly, feeling the absurd urge to wink at her. Though, as I mentioned before, he was known for his nearly never faltering self-control and had managed not to follow any of his impulses since crushing her frame to him in what he imagined was a rather unpleasant and not all together enjoyable manner earlier.

The very same self-control that was right then keeping him from imagining things about Vlaityn that he knew he had "every right" to imagine since, he supposed, they were involved with one another yet he thought to be scandalize at the same time. Why, as the seconds wore on he felt as if there were something very much like a time turner marked "Sezer's Self-Control", and, as the seconds wore on, and as the sand grains fell to the bottom, it was becoming harder and harder for him not to just simply kiss her. Not that she'd mind, but this pure Ravenclaw was a bit too thick to notice that at present.

A joyful chuckle elated out of Vlaityn at the not-so-distant memory of Sezer's slip up at the Ravenclaw Table. It was one filled with elegance, to be sure. "If I recall correctly, I asked you to look for food scraps down there." Vlaityn snickered slightly. It was like her, though not completely serious.

"Not that I'd ever want you to fall, naturally. It was just somewhat unexpected. And we were all so hungry. Chomping at the bit, I believe." A lopsided grin appeared. "I was close to coming down there myself and looking for food." Vlaityn replayed the day in her head slowly, and opened her mouth to continue when she noticed Sezer seemed to have an odd expression on.

His countenance was happy, that was for sure. But there was something a tad bit conflicting flickering behind his eyes. For a second, Vlaityn thought he may have been having a small intellectual argument with himself. That was certainly somewhat Sezer-ish. But there was something else to it. Something.....feral? Maybe that was a strong word.

Completely intrigued and amused, Vlaityn cocked an eyebrow and felt a grin tug at the corners of her mouth. She desperately tried to read his stormy eyes before he could verbally give away what was churning in the brilliant brain of his. "Sezer?" She questioned lightly, her question clear though unspoken.

Sezer was becoming increasingly (and horridly, to his own realization of it) oblivious to anything else but Vlaityn. Worse, it wasn't her voice that he was concentrating on. But, rather, what her voice appeared to be coming out of (even if he did know that it was generated by the voice box every human had and that the vibrations one's own ears picked was sound, but I digress. "Dear sweet Merlin." He muttered to himself, lifting his glasses from his face and placing them on the table next to them, massaging the lids of his eyes.

"Fret not, Vlaityn. I am merely experiencing difficulty. My self-control appears to have left the building, if I were allowed to speak figuratively, and again, and it appears that Joel has taken his place." He offered her a smile, desperate to convey the impression upon her that it was far from her fault and that it was merely his own teenage hormones finally catching up with him after all this time.

'Well, at least without my glasses on I'm not quite so distracted. After all, one does need to see to do these kinds of things, doesn't one?' He let out a breath, attempting futilely to control himself. "Do you recall the tale of the three Hallows? Of course you do. In any case, the youngest brother, wiser than his two older, chose to the cloak. And while he almost never used it, did you not think it tempted him? Do you not agree that he was surely many a time tempted to steal from shops? Or perhaps acquire what he could not when he didn't have it?" And now he was just rambling, and, with any luck, Vlaityn wouldn't catch on. The hints were subtle but they were there.

"I'm fine, however, I assure you." He verbally waved off any concern. "It simply appears that I'm not as perfect as I strive to be."

Vlaityn shifted slightly, taking in Sezer's statements with a lift of an eyebrow that some would consider a look of puzzlement. Vlaityn could deal perfectly well with the Three Hallows reference. And the statement of Joel made sense too. But together they seemed somewhat....off.

Any sentence that involved both self control and Joel had an obvious subject. One that didn't bother her in the least. It was the tie in it had to the Three Hallows story, and the thoughts on the morality of stealing and temptation. Where was that supposed to come in at? Vlaityn could imagine Sezer having an inner struggle on the correct motive and action, or rather a struggle to find the logical motive and action, but was he possibly feeling....immoral?

Was that her fault? In some repulsive manner? The thought was deflating, and Vlaityn felt the well of happiness she had inside begin to dry up. Even in such a trivial manner she was already plaguing him.

Blinking slowly, Vlaityn looked away from Sezer and turned her attention back to the numerous surrounding distractions. "You're much more perfect than I believe you realize." She murmurred stoically.
