"Are you embarrassed by that?" Lin asked Earendil curiously looking up from her meal.

She didn't understand why though, though it was kind of funny in a cute way seeing Earendil embarrassed.

"You shouldn't be, Yue and Yukito talked about it sometimes, and that is why you know the castle so well right?"

Lore chuckled a bit as he once again adjusted Garrick's course, "Not there Garrick, come on you can go through the door down the hall."

This might take a while.

Elnara giggled at Lore and Garrick, then skipped ahead a bit and squatted down near the door of the Dining Hall, hands outstretched to the two of them.

"Come here, Garrick," she coaxed him, eyes shining brightly. "Come to Mama!"

Garrick squealed and changed directions then, heading for Elnara rather than wandering aimlessly.

Atalya laughed. "It seems he just needed to be shown where to go directly," she smiled warmly. "Look how fast he is!"

She watched him proudly.

Earendil avoided Lin's eye. "Well ... yes ..." he admitted hesitantly.

He couldn't explain why, but he just did find it embarrassing to have his mother tell his oldest friend about when he had been a toddler. Sure, it was true ... but the way she talked about it, she made it sound as if he were still as young as he was then.

Lin smiled wide, "Then there you go, it's a good thing. I had a lot of fun running around down there.... stalking."

She grinned, she still had all of those flowers, even though most did no glow anymore, except for maybe the most realistic of Earendil's flowers.

Lore found himself hurring even though he had to still take small steps, but they were quick small steps towards Elnara.

"Yes, I guess all he needed was a destination to go to," he laughed a bit.

Elnara giggled as Garrick hurried towards her, pulling hard on Lore's hands.

"Ah-bah!" he squealed, letting go of Lore's hands and falling into Elnara's.

Elnara laughed and picked Garrick up, hugging him close. "Someday soon," she murmured, "you're going to be walking."

Garrick slobbered a kiss on Elnara's nose, giggling loudly.

Atalya's eyes shone brightly. Not for the first time, she was glad that Elnara had decided to live where she had, rejecting her station - as Luthien and Ruel were proof, it was nearly impossible to raise a family normally here.

"He's going to be quite a handful when he does start to walk," she murmured with a smile.

Earendil chuckled, remembering their time together. "It's a bit of a pity we're both too old to play such games anymore," he said wistfully. "Though of course there are other things we could do to continue your training unofficially ..."

He paused. "Will you be joining me on the mountain tomorrow?" he asked cautiously. "I'm certain that Uncle Eldrin would be happy to see you again."

She had to agree, it would be fun to still play it (even though she didn't play as much as she did in the past). Besides she missed those flowers, and finding Earendil, and the maze....

"Yes!" Lin grinned, "It has been a long while, I'm probably not use to being that high up."

However, she wanted to see how her endurance was after all this time. Endurance was one of the things she had of course trained obsessively over because she always had to catch up to those around her, and Vincent added to that obsession. Mountain climbing (even though it was all stairs) was the best way to judge how much she had changed.

Lore lurched forward a bit as he felt Garrick let go of his hands. He laughed a bit watching Garrick kiss Elnara, someone was amused.

"He will, and wait until both twins are fully walking," Lore chuckled a bit more as he opened the door for Elnara, Garrick and Atalya.

"Now can you can go through the door."

"Doh!" Garrick giggled, pointing to the door that Lore had opened. "Doh! Bah!"

Elnara giggled again and rose to her feet, holding Garrick in both arms so that she wouldn't drop him. "And in we go," she smiled warmly at her husband and her son.

Once in the Dining Hall, she waved to the others and called out a greeting in Elvish.

Garrick meanwhile had spotted his twin in their greatgrandfather's arms, and pointed to her. "Ha!" he said proudly. "Ha!"

"Well, we'll see if you're still acclimatized to the elevation," Earendil teased Lin just as the doors opened.

Luthien just about squealed when Elnara, Lore and Garrick entered the room.

"Welcome back!" she said excitedly, coming around the table to greet them. "It's been so long!"

Even Ruel rose from his seat, smiling warmly at the new arrivals. "Welcome," he said formally in elvish. "We have been looking forward to a visit from you for a very long time."

Lin grinned, "Just you wait."

She poked him as she listened to what Ruel had to say. It was amazing, even though she didn't show it, how he acted just then. She would have never imagined back then him being so... so... nice.

Even though back in her mind, what she could remember of her childhood, she always knew that.

"And we are glad to be here," Lore replied in return.

He was good, though perhaps it seemed a bit too formal in a way, but it was one of those things that happened when you learned a language.

Hana had been playing with the collar of Reave's shirt, but at the sound of her father's voice she looked around. Her green eyes lit up as she spotted her parents, and she stretched her arms out to them. "Na! Na!"

Elnara smiled warmly at her brother and sister-in-law, and greeted Luthien with a hug and a kiss to each cheek. "It's been a rather hectic time back home," she smiled apologetically, "but we made it finally. It helps that the twins are old enough to travel a bit now - before, taking them anywhere was just too difficult."

Garrick's sharp eyes caught sight of the food on the table. "Mm!" he grinned, sticking one finger in his mouth and giggling.
