((Ah, sorry! Just busy with senior year you know?))

Firasi had gone forward ahead of everyone. At this point the momentum was breaking and would never complete the game. Data streamed through his mind to make adjustments to the game and hasten the parties movement. A the entrance to the dungeon was only half a mile away. Not far at all, but to make things faster...

Initiate field deletion. Forest and fields, processing deletion. Body count, processing deletion. Sky limits, processing deletion. Creatures, processing deletion. Proper level minimizing will commence in five minutes. Begin countdown.

Firasi turned rushed forward faster, waving out behind him, "Come on guys! No time to lose! I wanna beat this game and get it all over with!" In his mind, data streamed the final countdown. Signals rushed through his head: A servant of Marquis was on the way.

A timer appeared the players for all to see. -5:00-
The minute started to countdown to zero.

Marquis, if your servant is going to arrive, let it be soon."

The servant was doing his best to get to the Players, since if he didn't at the quickest pace possible, his master would feed him to the leeches and not the regular kind, the kind that eat you alive like a snake as they drain you dry so slowly it's like being digested for days that can stretch out to seem like years. It wasn't pleasant and wasn't the best way to die either.

Marquise's voice rang through his servants head, yelling into his skull the task at hand. The servant quickened his pace beyond his limits; the power of corruption was more painful a wrath then to be tired from running. The way that failure resulted in were the most unpleasant deaths in the game, the worst being a thousand years of digestion in the Pit of Karikoon, which many still suffered in today at this moment in its bowels, rotting away slowly.

The servant was like a cheetah running to catch his prey at this moment, trying desperately to not fail and hopefully be promoted. Since servants were expendable, they were also prone to easy promotions due to that expendability. The Players were in the distance, in the fields and the servant kept running forward towards them as to get the message to them quickly.

"Yes, we should get going. I don't see what we're accomplishing by standing around here. Come on!"

Korsu nodded and started lumbering after Firasi. Andy followed soon after, striding much more smoothly, but at the same speed. Korsu marveled at the fact that they apparently had none of the fatigue from before. Both of them were nearly back at full strength; except for Andy's headache, Alora's healing seemed to do the trick.
Suddenly, Korsu shouted, "Wait! I see something! It looks like a person!" Andy strained his eyes in the direction Korsu was pointing, but without the accelerated vision of a half-giant, he saw only the faintest black speck. "It's running towards us...It doesn't appear to be armed, but...oh my god, that thing is definitely not human! Look how fast it's moving!

Aansalath walked alone for a bit, listening to the rest of the group decide to come along. He sighed and wondered if they were ever going to make it to level two. Hell, if he couldn't wait for them to get to level two, how was he going to wait for level 10? He caught a scent on the wind and smiled, ah yes, that's how. Alora and Passion would make him wait, not directly, but they would. He continued walking at a human pace, staying ahead of everyone but Firasi.

Te servants of corruption did indeed have a humanoid form; in fact they use to be human before being tortured into something new. Bolts were placed in their skulls to make they feel constant pain and those bolts were connected to plates that were from the skull to the bottom of the spine. This meant they were in constant states of pain, nothing could be worse than having pain that would never go away, even after the bolts were removed since it would result in death.

The servant was dying from the speed he was running, it was had far too much strain, but the punishment for stopping was far too great to let happen, so he continued on towards the Players not stopping an inch or slowing down. When he finally came within a good enough distance between himself and the Players, he slowed down and spoke, not gasping once despite the pressure on his lungs.

"Greetings Players! I have come on behalf of my master to invite you all to a party!"

Tell them there will be food and refreshments. As well, tell them about my game and how it will test them! Now!!!

The servant grasped at his head as the voice rang his skull like a drum being hit by a megaton hammer, the pain was still nothing compared to what waited in failure.

"...There will be food and refreshment as well as a game my master has for you to play...To test you skills and power."

Finally! Passion inwardly exclaimed as the group began to move. She had hoped to wait a bit longer before approaching Aansalath, but she found her patience failing her. With the speed that came with her nimble Thief Class she set off. Quickly catching up to the group as they sauntered down the path. And soon enough she was walking next to Aansalath, a bit annoyed that there were so many people behind her.

She rested a hand on his left arm and walked in a way that allowed her to face him while retaining a limited view of the path up ahead. "Aansalath, could I have a word with you?" She spoke in a soft voice with a twinge of nervousness. "It's about-" An approaching figure caught the Hybrid's attention. Quickly she dropped her hand down from the vampire's arm and to her waist. She was ready to launch a throwing knife in his direction should he make a threatening move.

A party? Passion found herself intrigued by the proposal. Parties were lively and often had drinks. And drunks were oh so much easier to relieve of valuables. And the mere mention of food caused her stomach to emit an embarrassing low growl. But this so called game made her feel uneasy. The party was a gift, the game was the catch. Though it couldn't hurt to check out said party. The more lavish it happened to be the more suspicious the game would become. Either way Passion would be able to fill her stomach and hopefully her pockets.

As quick as that the thief had made up her mind. It didn't bode well to be a particularly indecisive pilferer. Wait a moment to long and you could lose a plethora of valuables. But she kept quiet, assuming the others would take a bit longer to decide.

Aansalath looked to Passion, then saw the servant of Marquis. He heard what was said, and rolled his eyes. Of course Marquis would lure them with a party, where there would be food and drink. Both of which the mortals hadn't had since coming here. Didn't any of these players know how to hunt?! He turned back to Passion and said, "Ma dame Passion, you wanted to speak to me. What was it you wanted?"

"Oh, yes.." Passion looked back into the deep red eyes of Aansalath. "Well," A pause to sigh. "I don't even know what this place is and the first thing I saw when I came here were dead bodies. And then you. And I wanted to trust you, even though you were obviously covered in blood. But you seemed so nice. And then I saw your power and heard you admit to killing those people. And I heard someone call you a vampire, which I don't even believe in. But who am I know to believe in strange things when I'm in a place like this? And it's all just been so confusing and exasperating!" She paused to catch her breath after letting out the stringed together ramble. "And, I just wanted to know why you killed those people. Why?" Her eyes were as pleading as her voice. It was obvious she was looking for an excuse to overlook his killings. To trust him as an ally and not be so alone in this strange world.

Alora turned around to wait for the rest of the group. Honestly, she would rather have stayed longer. She was getting a bit nervous for the next level. They had no idea what would be waiting for them there, though it was probably gonna be some scary monsters of some kind. Alora shuddered. Then she turned around and began walking. She soon was behind most of them, though she could hear Passion and Aansalath talking behind her. Alora turned her head to look at Korsu as he pointed to somewhere in the distance, and indeed, Alora could see the figure rushing towards them. She tilted her head as he spoke of a party. A party? In this game? Alora looked at the others with a puzzled expression. She had never played anything else than computer games, so she was used to just running around and slaughtering monsters in games. But this is not really a game... Alora didn't pay attention to the last thing the servant said, about the game to test their skills and powers. Alora suddenly realized that if they went to the party now, they would have to put level two off for a while, and the longer the better. As Passion's stomach growled, Alora began to feel that she was getting quite hungry too. After all, they hadn't eaten since they came here. She nodded her head in approval, and looked around at the others to see their response. If she knew them right, most of them would take a moment to decide.

He gave her a clearly fanged smile, "Mon étoile, I am a vampire, but usually my diet sticks to animals." Inside he was cringing at the thought of having to drain another deer, or worse, a rabbit. "Ma dame, I killed them because they attacked us first. They showed signs of hostility and the party needed help. That is the reason, survival. We cannot think about whether killing is wrong in this game, we have to kill, or be killed. I'd rather kill." He said all of this rather simply, his eyes mixed with animal gold and human red showing sympathy towards the soldiers. "I do regret having to kill those men, but we mightn't have made it to the next level had we shown compassion."

Passion let out a small sigh, her shoulders suddenly appearing a bit more relaxed. "Right. This is just a game and we have to win." There was obvious disbelief in her voice, but she knew she'd simply have to convince herself. Get used to the prospect of how things worked. But she wished she had appeared in some other type of game. One where the violence and gore were removed for the sake of younger players, or like her, the somewhat squeamish players. "Thank you for answering me." She looked up at the vampire with a weak smile. How could those fangs be both fearsome and attractive? And he had simply said usually, not always. Which meant animals weren't the only creatures to be pierced by the canines. But noone was perfect, right?

She stood awkwardly next to him, looking forward down the path. She felt a need to move to the very back of the group but decided that she'd just wait until they started moving once again.

The servant was much more rested now that his master had released his hold on him, but it was apparent that his master had more to tell to the Players about this Party and the game that would be taking place at the party.

"The game is optional, but eventually you must beat it to pass into Level 3 or my master will not allow passage. He will explain the rules when you reach him. My master's name is Marquis, the Lord of...Gah..."

The servant went too far with his explanation and his words would cost him his life. He wasn't supposed to mention the Lordship of Marquis. The Lord of Corruption would send a bad sense to the Players.

You weren't supposed to go that far fool; your services are no longer required. Enjoy your promotion!

The servants head cracked and started to bleed, before he fell over head first into the ground below, his body not emitting any blood, but sinking into the earth and disappearing into the dirt.

Firasi gave a low sigh. Such is the ways of the Marquis... still letting your servants enjoy their 'promotions' aren't you.
Firasi turned back towards the others. "I say we go," he gave a bit of a whirl, "better to have it done now than later. He said we'll have to do it anyways..." He gave surprised shudder.
"Anyone else have a bad feeling?" In his mind, the data streamed through, the timer was almost up. They would have to start moving. The area was going to start the deletion process soon.

Claws nodded, "I agree. But no bad feelings actually." he shrugged, "But I am getting bored so we should move." he was getting uneasy, he needed something to distract him from his theiving tendencies before they drove him completly and utterly insane.

"That one's Aura was.... interesting. Almost as if he was being controlled." Ixpath looked up at the timer, swore, and muttered three words "Ial, idan espa!" Suddently, to all, the world seemed to slow down, the timer ticking off half as slowly. "Get moving, we don't have much time!" Speeding off with the newly cast Mass Haste, He sped off in the direction of the Second gate, given that that was probably where the "Party" was.
