A Friendly Face(Amaya meets Bobby and gets a boo-boo on her tail)Bobby Reynolds ((Note: This is a slow-private RP with Amaya and Bobby. Please do not post unless you have permission from BOTH Kit and ELF.... thank you kindly! <3 ))Bobby was feeling fairly good today. She regularly found herself at the cafeteria....what could she say? The woman liked to cook! Well, most of her "cooking" was more so a mixing of pre-made food since she hadn't been able to find the stove or oven lately. Today, Bobby was working on a gourmet salad as well as a strange meat casserole that wasn't coorperating as well.
The woman, not at all discouraged from the failings of the casserole, was whistling some up-beat country tunes to herself... a strange sight for a woman as dark as Bobby. Amaya Vaughan After her talk with Joliette, Amaya had pretty much paniced and ran back to her duplex. Colche. She HAD to find Colche. Though it didn't help that she had gotten disoriented in the jungle before finding her way back to her room.
Once there she threw off her rather revealing shorts and put on her baggy red cargo pants. She hated how low they sat, but they covered a lot more then her shorts. After securing a belt to make sure they didn't fall down she ran back out.
... Though she had no luck finding Colche.
The iguana wasn't sure how long she had searched up and down the duplexes, but it had given her quiet a gurgling stomach. Had she even eaten breakfast? She couldn't recall.
Without thinking she pushed opened the double doors to the cafeteria, ready to grab a salad and stuff it down her face before running back off again.
But there was someone very new and very human standing at the food line.
Amaya's body seemed to lock up, her tail going rigid behind her and her green eyes going wide as she stared. Her mind seemed to shut off as well, preventing her from thinking about running or screaming or making any kind of greeting. Bobby Reynolds Bobby was finishing up the last touches of her casserole -finally!- when she head the doors. Turning, with some cheese in her hand, the woman saw the new arrival. Even though she was taken aback by the stark contrast (all she had seen up to that point were furry islanders) of the girl, Bobby's welcoming face and smiling eyes hid the emotions.
"Well hello, there... did you want something to eat? I've prepared a salad," she nodded to the table closest to her that had a large salad bowl resting on it, "and I am just finishing up this casserole!"
Without waiting for a reply, Bobby turned back to her creation, setting the excess on the corner of the second tray. She grabbed some fruit and silverware and then went to sit at the table where the salad was waiting. Amaya Vaughan Amaya seemed to snap out of her daze when the woman smiled at her. Thankfully she must have known about the island or she would have been a lot more freaked out. Thank god. She went to walk foreward, albeit shyly when-
SLAM!
The girl froze, the doors having finally shut behind her from when she shoved them open... and her tail had landed right bewteen the doors. Her mouth opened and a tiny, painful squeak emitted from her scaley mouth. She took a step back to lax her tail, turning around to slowly look at it.
"Ahhhhaaa..." She whimpered and crouched down, pushing one of the doors open and sliding her tail out from between them... leaving a trail of blood behind.
Thankfully the end hadn't detached, else she would have fainted, but there was a line clear around it that was bleeding slightly and a bruise was developing around the damaged area.
"Owieeeeee..." Amaya whinned like the child she was, tears brimming in her eyes even though it wasn't very painful. Bobby Reynolds Bobby jumped up when she heard the door, and then the lizard-girl whimper. Immediately she thought that the other was shot, but when she looked back, her instincts kicked in. "Oh no..." Bobby crooned as she sprinted towards Amaya.
Very gently, Bobby took a hold of the girl's tail and blew very gently on the wound to try and get a feel for what to do. Reaching into her pockets, she pulled out some salve and bandages - she didn't go anywhere without them due to her hands- and carefully wrapped the tail.
After inspecting her work, the woman stood and smiled down at Amaya, "There we go... and I have some pain relievers if it gets too bad..." Bobby let the words hang on air, for she just realized what she had done -the lizard-girl hadn't asked for her help and yet she had just bandaged her tail.... what if she was very nervous about all that?
Bobby couldn't say anything else, she just watched Amaya sheepishly to see her reaction. Amaya Vaughan The lizard's tail twitched slightly as it was bandaged good as new. She could only stare as the woman didn't even hesitate to do such a thing. Did she know what was really going on and just was really brave and nice? That had to be it... else she would have thought her tail was incapable of bleeding.
When the woman was done she could only blink at her in awe. Maybe being outside wouldn't be that bad... if the people you happened to bump into were this nice. "Th-Thank you." Amaya said, her tail picking itself up so the bandages didn't get dirty on the floor.
Slowly she stood up, fidgetting with her freakishly long fingers... as was the custom when she was nervous. Her large, pink tongue flickered. "My names Amaya." The girl said timidly, looking up at the kind woman. Bobby Reynolds Bobby smiled, glad that she hadn't stepped over some unseen boundaries with the girl. When the girl offered her name, the woman smiled broadly, "And I am Bobby."
Motioning towards the table, Bobby took Amaya's hand and settled it into the crook of her arm, where she also patted the scaly-nailed fingers. "Now, you look a mess... I know the perfect solution to almost any problem.... foood!"
The woman smiled broadly while her own stomach rumbled angrily. With a childish grin, Bobby giggled a little, "I admit, I am very hungry..." She winked as the approached the table. Amaya Vaughan Amaya was still in a little bit of surprise, allowing herself to be lead towards the food the woman had been preparing seconds before she burst into the room. She wasn't really used to being treated like this... not since after her third change and especcially not by someone who was completely human that she had never seen before.
"Yeah." She smiled, eyeing the salad Bobby made. "Food sounds really good right now." Her smile broadened a little. It was taking a little bit more concentration to keep her bandaged tail off the ground then she thought. Normally she let the new limb drag behind her... it never really bothered her. Bobby Reynolds Bobby helped Amaya sit down and patted the girl's shoulder. She hadn't known what... an iguana? -the woman wasn't quite sure on the type of reptile- might eat, but seeing the girl eye the salad gave her an idea. "You enjoy the salad, I'll work on the casserole!"
Moving to the other side, and holding the strangely-made casserole, Bobby grabbed a fork and took a bite. She would have offered some, but wasn't sure how Amaya would take an offering of meat. Amaya Vaughan Amaya turned the chair around and sat on it backwards, allowing her tail to cascade off the back of it and gently lay on the ground behind her.
Her tongue flickered and she eyed the salad before picking up a fork rather awkwardly with two of her long, clawed fingers. She stabbed at the food and took a bite, only speaking up and looking over at Bobby once she had swallowed.
"Thanks... for everything." The iguana's smile became more genuine, the only indication that she was really female being her voice. She paused for a moment, her tongue giving another flick as if she was thinking of how to word what she wanted to say. "I'm not used to people being so... nice. Not when I've never met them and they're new to the island."
Her voice was still timid and quite, despite her smile. Bobby Reynolds Bobby smiled at Amaya. Her generally happy-face turned to one of almost complete and utter sadness. It was obvious she had left a lot behind, and was failing at the moment to not think about such things... which just made things worse for the woman. "We're all going through a rough time here. It is my pleasure to try and help you, I would do it without hesistation."
Her face dropped some of the sadness, although it stayed in her eyes. "Now, why is it people aren't nice to you? You look like a beautiful young woman, there should be no excuse!" Bobby winked, giving Amaya the same 'speech' that she was known to give to her own daughters. Amaya Vaughan Amaya would have blushed if it were still physically possible. Her smile broadened a little for a small moment, knowing full well that she looked nothing like a "beautiful young woman" anymore... not like she had before all this, but it was still a nice thing to hear. It made her feel more human then she was.
She knew that demeanor, though... it's how she had initially approached the island too. Granted, not many people were changed beyond their first injection and looked as bad off as her. But she could tell the woman was making her fear, frustration, and the overall bizzarness of the whole situation into something she could deal with by using a carefree approach. She didn't blame her.
"How long have you been here?" The girl asked after a couple more bites of her salad. It couldn't have been too long, since she hadn't changed yet. Did Moreau drag a whole new wave of people to the island? Probably. She frowned, knowing that most if not all of them save for Bobby would react to seeing her in a bad way... even if they did know of the island. Bobby Reynolds Taking a bite out of her casserole, Bobby pondered the question. How long had she been here? It felt like years day, but it wasn't that long, for sure. Either way, she had been there far too long and missed her family dearly, "I think a couple weeks.... I've lost track of the days already. Any day here is too long, if you ask me." The woman sighed.
Bobby didn't like talking about their imprisonment so much, but she couldn't run and hide from it either... one day, she'd have to come to terms with it. Amaya Vaughan Amaya silently agreed, though a couple of weeks made perfect sense due to the woman's entirely human appearance. She caught the sigh, an indication that such a topic wasn't a very good one. But what else were they to talk about? If she started up any conversation about the woman it would undoubtedly be sad... she had just been ripped from her life.
"I'm sorry." The reptile knew it did little to comfort someone in such a situation, but she had to say it. She was sorry, deeply... If only she could somehow do something for these poor people. Why didn't Moreau pick more people like her? Someone who had nothing to lose? The p***k probably enjoyed thinking up lies and cons to get people to his sick little island. Bobby Reynolds Bobby almost kicked herself for her own incompetence. Of course, what else was there to talk about that wouldn't remind them all of the lives they left behind? Trying to pick the conversation up, the woman pushed such thoughts to the back of her mind. As if the girl didn't have enough to think about, Bobby's misfortunes should not be added to her own.
"So, what is there to do around? I've seen a little, but not much else." Bobby was picking as the last bits of her casserole. Almost shocked, she couldn't help but think where it all went; could she really have eaten all that? Amaya Vaughan "Well..." Amaya thought for a moment, having only eaten half her salad. Though she was still feeling a little anxious, so it was understandable. "There's the entertainment room, it has a TV and videogames and stuff in it. Beyond that... well, I'm not sure." She ran one of her large hands over her head nervously, the spines folding back under it's weight before standing back up.
Damn, she was probably getting off track. As much as she wanted to stay and talk with the nice woman... the girl knew that right after she finished the rest of her salad she needed to run back out and look for Colche. Bobby Reynolds Bobby looked from her own meal to Amaya's, only thinking partially on what the girl was saying. Crying out loud, what DID happen with her food? The casserole was about 2-3 times larger, and Amaya was about three quarters of the way done. Shrugging to herself, the woman thought it just might be comfort-eating, although she would have prefered to do that with ice cream or something.
"I will definately check those out... maybe one night when can get a few girls together and have a 'girls night out' or a sleepover!" Bobby laughed, she hadn't done anything like that in years! Amaya Vaughan Amaya couldn't help but smile a little. Even though she hadn't had any real good friends back on the mainland, that didn't mean she had never been to a sleepover. "That'd be fun." She voiced timidly after another bite of her salad.
She had eaten most of it and now her hunger was quelled... but her worry for Colche wasn't. The iguana frowned, not wanting to seem rude to the woman who had been so nice to her but... maybe she would understand.
A sigh escaped her scaley lips and she stood, looking at Bobby. "I feel bad for leaving so soon but... there's someone I'm looking for that I haven't seen in awhile." Amaya smiled slightly and awkwardly picked up the salad bowl with her large hands. "Thanks for everything... I can't say how happy it makes me to know that not everyone is going to freak out when they see me." Her young female voice made her actually appear like the little girl she was for the first time. Bobby Reynolds Bobby smiled, "It's a date, then!"
As Amaya got up and gave her meaning for leaving, the woman waved her off, "By all means, go find your friend! I'm sure she'll be happy to see you."
When Amaya was out of range, Bobby frowned, contemplating the girl's comment. "Why would anyone freak out?" she murmured to herself, "we're all in the same boat now...."END RP (will have another later, though)

Girls Only Sleepover(Amaya finally runs into Colche and has a little sleepover in the entertainment room)Colche [nu RP] Colche padded in to the Cafereria. She realkly hadn't realised how far a run it would be through the jungle, she was tuckered out that was for sure. She panted and pushed the door to the cafeteria open with a humph and a deep raspy breath. she needed water.
Padding over silently to the service area she lifted a bottle of water and drank it in seconds draining the cool clear water and finally managing to stop panting. Flopping in to the closest chair she looked around for evidence of that mornings rumble. There were no men there now, she wondered what happened to Chubbs. She would find him later and cuddle him better.
Hder tail tip twitched as she stood once again remembering what she came for, Chocolate cake! slipping on those velveteen paws she searched for ehr favourite type, double chocolate gataux, the dinner lady usually left her a nice big slice and today wasn't a day to dissapoint. Scooping up the plate she turned around and sat at one of the benches with a spoon, double chocolate gataux was far too messy to be eaten with hands, you had to use a spoon!Amaya Vaughan Most of Amaya's day had been spent running about looking for the little cheetah girl. She had even stopped at her duplex and looked inside to see if she was there sleeping to no avail. With a sigh she looked at the setting sun with a frown. Not much longer and she'd start getting too tired to look for her. Shoulders slumped as she headed to the cafeteria. Might as well eat dinner and go to bed so she could look for her tomorrow.
The iguana pushed open the double doors to the cafeteria, minding her bandaged tail. She wasn't really afraid of bumping into someone right now...
Though as her green eyes raised to look around she noticed the very person she had been looking for all day.
"Colche!"
Eyes wide, the girl ran over to her. Colche Colche's head flickered up at the call of her name. her big blue eyes smiled though, a familiar voice, a familiar face. She puurred and got up from her seat. Though it had been a few days since the incident with billy the bruises on ehr torsoe were still visable the one on her belly most of all though it was no longer swollen it was black and bluein colouration. That didn't stop her grinning and running forwards a few steps pouncing her friend in an all mighty huggle. She puurred happily her furry muzzle burying in Amayas cloaths.
"not seen forever" she stated to her green lizardly friend puuring in a delighted manner holding on to her without looking up, she was glad to see the woman, her big sister. Amaya Vaughan Amaya returned the hug with gusto, her arms wrapping around Colche's form and rocking her back and forth. She had noticed the bruises, since they stood out from the rest of her fur colouration.
"God, Colche..." She trailed off for a moment, pulling away from the hug a little to look at her. "I was so worried, I heard what happened and..." She pursed her lips and pulled the cheetah into another hug. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there to help... Are you alright?" Colche Colche looked up at the formally black haired girl and smiled softly "Uh huh" was her only reply befopre continuing to hug the lizard woman. She had needed the hugs of ehr friends to help her get through the experience and although she was feeling better, she was definately still feeling nervy around the males of the area. "Aubrey says sokies, not hurt never again" she smiled weakly touching amayas shoulder with her slightly damp nose. "I'm be okay..bad mens on island tho.." she paused, Billy had appologised to her via a letter but she certainly wouldn't want to be in a room alone with the man. Amaya Vaughan "Very bad man..." The lizard nodded and looked down at Colche. "Next time someone does that, you use these." She gently grabbed Colche's hand and held up her claws. "And you scratch him up like the strong kitty you are, okay?" She forced on a smile for her, for once glad that they had given someone such a strong animal. Colche really needed it.
"And if your scared, you come get me okay? If you have nightmares or someone scares you or anything... Run right to number 22." Amaya held up both her hands, each having two fingers held up. "Two-two."
"Or even if you wanna play." She smiled, having missed taking the little princess out to play. Colche Colche smiled "twenty two" she mimiced with a nod, everyone kept saying about her claws, she hadn't quite worked out how to use them yet, she knew she would work it out eventually. Aubrey had told her to scratch, and Antony had told ehr to knee a guy in the groin. She really didn't understand it all, but she would try, f it ever happened again.
"Amaya come .." se paused for a moment as she searched for the word "see dee vee dees" she smiled, the word wasn't quite right but she hoped the lizard girl would understand. She still puurred happily as she held tightly to her big sister figure, there were still lots of dvd's she hadn't seen she had been making her way through the whole disney library and had certainly come out the otehr end with alot of knowlege.
Colche paused then, a smile breaking her maw, she couldn't remember if she had told Amaya what she was. She giggles and stands tall, or as tall as she could. "amaya Colche is a princess cheetah, Ambrose saids" she giggles, she had of course had ubreys aggreement to that statement too, she had grate pride in telling everyone what her animal was. Amaya Vaughan Amaya thought for a moment. See dee vee dees... Oh! "Sure Colche! You wanna go do that now? You can bring your chocolate cake too. We could have a little sleepover." She smiled, petting the long black hair on the girl's head.
Her smile only broadened at such an adorable name for the girl. "Yes you are! Very pretty princess cheetah. Ambrose was right." Colche Colche nods vigerously. "okay! sleep ova!" she giggles and Grabs her cake, thinking again she potters over to the lunch room lady and waits for a moment as a bag of prepopped popcorn is handed over. She ggiles and pads back to Awen "whee deevee dees!" she giggles, excited to watrch a dvd with her sister figure. Amaya Vaughan As Colche was getting her cake and popcorn, Amaya grabbed herself two apples and then followed the young girl. "Yep! Time for a sleepover." Grinning from ear to nonexitant ear, she walked out of the cafeteria to the entertainment room. Amaya Vaughan Amaya walked into the entertainment room with a broad smile, setting the two apples she had picked up before on a nearby table. She walked over the the large pile of DVD's and looked back at Colche. "Which one did you wanna watch?" Colche Setting her chocolate cake upon the table in the center of the room she placed her popcorn upon the couch and padded up to Amaya searching for a title that she liked. the Disney section was her favourite at the moment, it was full of animals which spoke. Biting her tongue though she looked along the line and pointed at 'The little mermaid' "that one" she grins, she hadn't seen this one yet, but it looked like it had a pretty girl, most pretty girls were princesses of course, only she had a fishy tail. Thjis would be fun,s he loved to watch dvd's and it was even better if somone wnated to watch them with you. Amaya Vaughan "Alright." The iguana smiled and with a little difficulty, popped open the case and then used one of her fingers to slip inside the circle in the middle of the DVD. Opening the DVD played she dropped it in and closed it before turning on the TV and sitting on the edge of the sofa. Her bandaged tail twitched and slid until it haphazardly curled around her and hung off the side of the couch. "Got your popcorn and cake?"
It had been ages since she had watched a Disney movie... it made her feel normal in an odd way. Like she was still human and the world was a little bit the same as it always had been. Sitting on the couch with your friend and watching movies. Colche Colche grinned and pilfering her cake she sat upon the couch cross legged, watching the movie's previews flash before her blue eyes. Movies were great, zshe was enjoying them so much. She grinned at amaya just now noticing her tail "amaya hurted?" she tilted her head, the DVD forgotten for now though the sounds of there opening credits made her head swivvel to watch the opening animation. Amaya Vaughan "Hurt?" Amaya questioned and looked around, before remembering her tail. It didn't hurt much anymore and would probably be okay to take the bandage off soon. "Nah, it's just a little boo-boo. I accidently shut a door on it... Heh." She laughed nervously, looking back to Colche. Colche Colche bit her tongue a bit "bad door" she stated, shuffling over to Amaya and snuggling in to the lizard woman so she could relax against ehr and watch the DVD. She loved disney so much, they gave her new songs o sing and she did so much love to sing them to everyone and anyone she could. Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled. "Very bad door."
It felt really nice to have the cheetah girl snuggle against her scales, though something in the back of her mind protested. Thankfully, the real Amaya seemed to be winning the battle when it came to iguana instincts... she just hoped that she wasn't the only one. Then again, Colche seemed to be fairing well and staying the same too. The only thing was that she was smarter, more confident, and that certainly wasn't a bad thing for the little girl.
The reptile got into a positon leaning against the armrest, her tail curling behind her and off the couch. Her arm moved around Colche so she could be more comfortable, some of her long fingers petting at her long black hair. One thing she had to give to Moreau... he gave her one hell of a wonderful family. Colche Colche puurred happily as she watched the film. Looking up at Amaya she smiled brightly, those big blue eyes bright and cheery as pretty much was ehr norm. It seemed she could bounce back from anything with her family around. Looking at Amaya, she snuggled deeper in to the lizard womans lap almost curling ehr whole body in to her as she watched the film happily. She was soon humming along to some of the tunes though she didn't know the words or the songs, she liked the sound and picked up the tuned pretty quickly her ears twitching as she listened. TYhe occasional giggle escaped her and of course she covered her eyes for a moment when the sea witch appeard, even hissing a little. She didn't like that lady one bit! Amaya Vaughan For the most part, Amaya remained silent throughout the movie. Though occasionally she would point one of her long, clawed fingers at one of the fish or some of the sea life in the movie and ask "What's that, Colche?" If the cheetah girl got it correct she would praise her and scratch gently behind one of her ears. If she didn't know, Amaya would tell her kindly.
It was nice to relax, but the girl knew that it would help to exercise Colche's brain with every little opportunity she got. Colche "under thesea" Colche mimicked as the bouncy song came on, it seemed that would be the song that the cheetah girl would latch on to in tis movie, though it had barely started really, she was enjoying the time with her sister searching for answers to the undersea life. Of course, being scritched behind the ears was good too, she liked the pettings!
"Amaya, can Colche have a sabastien?" she looked up at Amaya momentarily, she knew the word crab, but the only crab she had ever seen had been mean and had nippy things, sabastien seemed fun he could sing! Amaya Vaughan "A sabastian? Hm..." Amaya thought for a moment, her long fingers absently finding themselves amongst the cheetah's hair. "Well, you can probably have a hermit crab, they're kind of like Sabastian. Maybe ask Aubrey?"
Green eyes looked down at Colche with a smile. As much as the iguana now hated that woman, whether it be the thought of her lying to them in the cafeteria or somehow being a part of all that happened a month ago, she was still staff... hence, to be feared. But she wasn't about to speak her displeasure for the woman in front of her little sister. Colche Colche grinned and giggled "hermit grab" she puurred and looked up at Amaya, she of course thought the world of Aubrey, she was her 'mother' figure. With a grin though she suddenly remembered what they had discussed before the billy incident "I..gets a ball like cinderella for my birthday" she grins broadly, Aubrey had promised her a ball for her birthday and if Aubrey said it it was obviously true and going to happen. Amaya Vaughan "Oh really?" Amaya smiled. "When is your birthday?"
The lizard didn't for a second feel bitter that she hadn't done anything for her birthday... it had always been like that ever since her grandmother died. Colche Colche giggled and bi her tongue before replying "seventeen, May furst" she grins broadly, Aubrey had given her that birthday she didn't truely know when it was after all, it could have been tomorrow as far as she was concerened. It didn't matter though all that matterd was that when may the first came around that she was gunna be a princess and at a ball just like cinderella. Amaya Vaughan Wow, Colche was 17? The girl in her lap that acted none older then a toddler was about a year older then her. Oh well, she was still her little sister. Amaya smiled and looked around the room. "May first? That's iiiiin..." Her green eyes rested on the calander pinned up on the opposite wall.
"About a month, it looks like." It was the 31st already? Wow... around seven more months and she would have stayed on this little island for an entire year. Colche Colche giggled, she really didn't understand time frames a month could be tomorrow, a month could be next year. "soon" she grinned broadly her attention taken to the screen once again as another song came up, this time it was 'kiss the girl' she liked this one too and puurred happily, she was starting to like the prince alot, he was handsome! Amaya Vaughan "Yep." Once again Amaya fell silent, watching the Disney classic with the cheetah in her lap. The apple she had brought in was all but forgotten until now. She reached over and grabbed it, biting out a chunk and chewing with her sharp teeth before swallowing. Colche "Bad lady" she stated suddenly pointing at Ursala, she had hardly any idea that women could be bad too thoguh she just realised it, she had watched all these movies and women were mostly good, but they were baddies too. Nothing was as straight cut as it used to be. Amaya Vaughan "Uh-huh." Amaya nodded as she watched the movie. She seemed to have grown a lot more silent after her third change... whether it was from shyness or something else. Colche Colche looked up at Amaya and smiled, so many things had changed since she first met the girl. She for one understood things better, and she liked to know her friends were happy. "Amaya happy on island?" she tilted ehr head a bit, she never truely understood why anyone could be unhappy, though of course she didn't understand what a normal life was. Amaya Vaughan Amaya blinked, a little taken aback by the question. "Well... I can't say I've been truely happy in a long time. Even back on the mainland I was very sad." She wouldn't delve into why unless the princess cheetah asked. "But I have on thing to be happy about here on the island, because now I have a wonderful family." She smiled and looked down into Colche's large blue eyes. Colche Colche smiled a little. The weird family made her puurr, of course that was something that even she understood and revered. Everyone here was family. Well mostly everyone, if people tried to eat you or..or..they wern't family they were scary. Her tail tip twitched and she snuggled back in to place "I'm Happy" she stated, though her voice had lost all of it's childishness for amom, ent, it was something she wanted to tell everyone. Though fear had come all too recently. She was happy still, happy on this island no matter what happened. Amaya Vaughan "Good... I'm glad." Amaya smiled and scratched gently behind one of the cheetah girl's ears before petting her hair again. "As long as your happy." Colche Colche smiled, the end of the movie was rolling around, it was the scary but with the giant octopus lady and she hid her eyes. Peeping between her furry fingers occasionally just to check it was over. Amaya Vaughan Amaya finished her apple just as the movie ended. She continued to rest her large hand on the cheetah's head and forearm in a sort of comfort, having not moved to jostle the girl from her comfortable curled position. Colche Colche smiled, wathing the whole end credits though she was startiing to feel dozey curled up in Amayas lap and her eyes closed for long periods at a time. It was comfy here with Amaya. Amaya Vaughan Once the end credits had ended, Amaya grabbed the remote and turned the TV off. Green eyes looked down at Colche, a smile on her scaley face. Reaching for the blanket drapped across the back of the couch, she lay it over the little cheetah and then moved enough so she could place a pillow under her head.
"I'll be right here, okay Colche?" The reptile smoothed back some of Colche's hair and got herself a pillow and blanket from the storage closet. She set them on the ground and curled up on her side, ready to drift off to sleep as well.
"Good night Colche..."

Reunited(Amaya bumps into Hargun and Timothy)Amaya Vaughan Amaya had been simply wandering about outside when she noticed a rather black and white furry guy in someone's door. Was it Timothy...? She had known of no other person turning into a skunk, which the tail itself was pretty obvious. Though like most instances, she chose to simply walk passed.
But then something else caught her green eyes. Something, or rather someone with wings that she hadn't seen in ages. Hargun had even elluded her while the duplexes had shut down.
"HARGUN!" The girl's mouth reacted on it's own, a large hand then quickly coming up to slap over her scaley mouth. The bat girl hadn't even seen her like this yet... would she even recognize her?
For now she stared, eyes wide and filled with fear about how both of them might react. Timothy Matthews As Timothy was entering, before Hargun had closed the door behind him he heard "HARGUN!" shouted from outside with his more senseative ears. He turned back to look out the door as well. "Um... it's for you." Timothy peaked out the door to see who had called out to her. He quietly retreated back though to let Hargun take care of it. He didn't want to be in the way. Hargun Aikason Hargun's ears twitched again at the familiar voice, and she threw her head out the door again, not even bothering to shield for light this time. "Amaya?" she asked her squinted. {What in the heck is that- OH MY GOD. OH MY ******** looked back at Timothy for a second, a worried and suprised look on her face. "W..would you exscuse me for a sec?" she said, and burst out the door jogging to Amaya. "Amaya is that YOU?!" she said, not at all seemingly frightened of her- her ears didnt lie to her, this was Amaya. And even though she wasnt the best at pointing out details anymore, OBVIOUSLY Amaya had changed. A LOT. Amaya Vaughan "Y-Yeah..." The iguana winced, her bandaged tail twitching behind her a little. Even though she wore a hat, it did very little to conceal the fact she was now bald... and covered in scales. Most of her torso was exposed, since she could only wear small amounts of clothing due to her hands.
She fidgetted with her long, clawed fingers. "I changed right before the duplexes opened up..." She trailed off, forcing her still green eyes to look at her long-lost friend. "But anyway, are you alright? I couldn't find you for the longest time!" Timothy Matthews Timothy poked his head out the door to listen to the two girls talk. He didn't really know what to say just yet. Timothys experiences with the duplexes locked were fairly cold, fairly miserable, and worst of all involving his first experience with his skunk musk. He stood back and listened at the door for now. Hargun Aikason Hargun didnt even mind anymore that her friend had changed. After so long of not seeing anyone but bunches of bats and Ray she threw her arms out and gave Amaya a hug, ignoring any spikes, scales, and not even noticing her hat. "I missed you! Oh my god, its been so crazy around lately." she said then backed up from the hug a bit and turned her head confused at Amaya. "What do you mean the duplexes opened up?" she said, then recalled parts of her 'dream'. "I never knew they were uh... closed? I had this.. dream.. or at least Im thinking I did, that I was stranded in a cave for two months with another islander uhm Ray was her name. Anyways, surely that cant be true right?" she said with a cheeky smile. Amaya Vaughan Amaya returned the hug full heartedly, having deeply missed her friend for those two long months and moreso. "I missed you too..."
She looked up at Hargun as she started to talk about a dream, non-existant brow furrowing. "Dream? ... No, it wasn't." Her frown deepened. "It really happened... we were all stranded outside for two whole months and all the duplexes were locked. We thought someone had died or something because the helicopter crashed and... it was all just some big stupid experiment." Green eyes trailed down, long passed the notion of being angry about it.
Now all she felt was sorrow, hatred, and fear towards the staff. Timothy Matthews "It... it's true." Timothy stepped out of the door about it. He hadn't wanted to bring it up but since it was out there. "I changed like this out there... in fact I had my first experience with my skunk musk." he tried not to smile, but despite it all it was funny on some base level. He chuckled "I stunk for weeks... ask Awen." Hargun Aikason Hargun made a small snort, then muttered a curse, probably an odd mix of swear words. "So then that wasnt a dream? Damn. DAMN the staff. ARG! I mean, right as we -sorta- get over the whole animal thing, then they bring it to our attention that, '******** we really are animals, durhur!' again!" she said, then kicked the ground slightly, and looked up at Amaya, then to Timothy and chuckled a bit, a little cranky look still on her face. "Well.. I cant say I suffered out there or anything. I remember having plenty of food and water, just no warm comfy bed. An old, cold, rocky cave." she said, then shuffled back to the duplex. "Come on, Amaya. The sun is killin me." she said, then smiled slightly at Timothy as she neared her door. "Ugh.. that mustve sucked." she said, reffering to the musk. Amaya Vaughan Amaya couldn't help but smirk a little at the skunk boy's story of his first musk. It was like something out of a "coming of age" video but... in a weird mammialian ******** up way.
The lizard nodded, glad that neither of them were acting very badly to her apperance as she followed Hargun inside. "Wasn't very good for me. When it started to rain I didn't make it back to camp on time and almost... died, I think. From the cold." She still wasn't sure if reptiles could die from such a small degree of coldness. Timothy Matthews "That's horrible Amaya, leave you out to die like that... after everything they've done to us. Especially you..." Timothy smirked. Then his face went a little pale. Not that you could really tell under the fur. "I mean it's just... I mean... did they really trap you in a cave Hargun. That's awful." Timothy tried to change the subject as quickly as he could. Hargun Aikason "Oh.. Amaya... Im.. sorry." she said as she closed the door for them once everyone was in, and proceeded to try and make walking space for them in the jungle of clothes. "Theyve got a lot of nerve doing this to us. Those sadistic bastards." she said and plopped over on her bed once the room seemed to be clean enough for her standards. "Heck yea they did." she said, putting her wings behind her head and staring at him and Amaya. "But I dont deserve to really complain. It had plenty of bugs and a nice water source inside. Just dunno what happened I guess.. something went up and I ended up waking up here thinking it was all a dream." Amaya Vaughan "Yeah..." Amaya frowned and rubbed one of her arms with a large palm, knowing well that she was probably the least human-like islander on the island right now. Though of course, she had yet to see Cassidy.
"How long ago did you wake up?" The reptile asked. If she thought that the whole thing was a dream, she had obviously been brought back to her duplex without her knowledge... and it couldn't have been long because she hadn't talked to anyone about it. Timothy Matthews "Yeah, they dug a huge burrow or something and stuck Lauren and me down there. It really... wasn't that bad though. The skunk in him had sort of liked it anyway." Timothy shrugged. He didn't want to upset either of them though, they obviously knew each other way better. If she had been gone Timothy wondered what it had been like, atleast he hadn't been a prisoner of his burrow. He'd also met Avery... Timothy smiled slightly as his thoughts drifted to Avery, then to Vasile as well. Hargun Aikason Hargun shrugged at Amaya. "I just woke up not too long ago, and seconds later I heard Timothy knocking on the door." she said and shifted a bit, her arms falling asleep a bit. "Woah. Like.. a little tunnel? Man, id be afraid of it caving in or something and crushing me." she said, adding a little shudder. She looked at them both then noticed Timothy's little smile. "What are you grinnin' about?" she asked. Amaya Vaughan "Then... where have you been this whole time?" Amaya looked to the bat girl with a positivly confused expression on her face. "The duplexes opened up weeks ago." She hadn't really noticed Timothy's grin. Timothy Matthews "Yeah, a little tunnel, it seemed pretty sturdy and all. I think they were trying to make a giant burrow like skunks and ferrets use. Someone was trying to be funny." Timothy shrugged on this. He looked over at Hargun, "That is odd though, with everything oppened again, where were you. I mean, it's already just about April." Timothy had noticed this on the calender in the rec room, though it was harder to keep track of these days. Days with nothing to do just sort of wizzed by. Hargun Aikason Hargun blinked at them both. "I.. honestly have no clue. I mean, I remembered we stayed mostly in the cave. And thats where I remember us last being before I guess I passed out and they got me or something." She looked around her her duplex, eyes completelyskipping over the unfavorable bat sculpture in her room, that she still had no idea held an ipod in it. "Like I said.. I just.. woke up thinking it was a dream. I was here on the bed like I was the night before they apparently closed us out of the duplexes." she said. Where else could she have been? Did it not matter now, heck she was back 'home' right? Amaya Vaughan "Maybe you just stayed in the cave so long that they didn't think you'd come back to the duplexes on your own and brought you here?" Amaya shrugged. It didn't matter much to her either, as long as Hargun was back. Timothy Matthews Timothy noticed the closeness between the two of them, and realized he was rather the odd man out here. He also didn't want to talk to her about his smile. "Listen, hey, it's great to have you back Hargun." he stood up smiled and attempted to hug her. "And it's good to see you too again Amaya, but it's getting later and I think I'm going to sneak back over to my duplex, maybe take a warm bath." Baths had never felt as good since that whole incident. He then slipped out the door as pleasently as he could. Hargun Aikason Hargun sat up a bit and crossed her arms on her knees. "Heh, mustve been what they did. I was quite suprised they didnt inject me with anything though." she said then turned her head to Timothy and smiled sincirely. "Alright. It was nice getting to talk to you, Timothy." she said and waved as he left then sighed looking at Amaya. "Has anyone found a way OFF this god forsaken island while we were all locked out? Surely someones tried -something-." she said hopefull minded. Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled and nodded to the skunk boy as he left. "See ya around, Tim."
"Well, Awen tried to swim off... she changed again. But as it turned out she almost drowned because she can only breath in fresh water." She frowned. "Other then that... no, not that I can think of." Hargun Aikason "Woa.. not cool I guess. Hmm, theres someone I havent talked to in a bit. Hopefully she still isnt really ticked at me. I guess over this long period of time surely not.." she said and sighed. She nibbled on the thumb/claw only thing not connected to any webbing and stared thoughtfully at the wall. "Have there been any new islanders during the lockout that you know of?" she asked. Harg needed quite a bit of info on what all she hadnt gotten to witness. Amaya Vaughan "Two guys actually washed up during it, one named Rex and the other... Avery I think." Amaya paused in thought. "And other then them, I think more people were brought here just after it opened up again. I know that theirs one nice lady named Bobby." She smiled, recalling how careing the woman had been. Hargun Aikason "Hmm. Geez.. thats.. a lot. Disturbingly alot. Argh.. I wish I knew just how many of us are here right now.." she said and thought a while on it. "And I know its sounding monotonous by now, but Moreau just doesnt know when to quit. After that stunt he pulled with us, doncha think he should be pleased by know. Ugh, I just dont get it." she said and yawned a bit. "Once we become more beastlike we should make this little game of his a living hell for him, nomatter what it takes." she said chuckling a bit, with a hint of disbelief in her own statement. Amaya Vaughan Amaya let out a sigh, pulling her beanie off to scratch at her head before putting it back on. "Yeah..." She smirked, though she could feel herself getting colder with the more time she put off basking... which had been what she was on her way to do before coming here.
"Sadly, I think I gotta go though... can't go a day without basking at least once anymore." Her scales already seemed a duller colour as she frowned. "Anyway, swing by later if you have any questions or just wanna hang out okay?" Hargun Aikason "Ah.. sounds.. fun." she said with a bit of sarcasm and stood up by the side of the bed. She then nodded and smiled at Amaya happily. "Thanks for comming by to see me. Wouldve been wandering around totally confused had it not been for you and Timothy. See yah Amaya." she said waving at her as well.

Auntie Bobby(Amaya meets up with Bobby once again in the cafeteria, and sees her first change)Bobby Reynolds NEW RP (after Bobby's 25% transformation) She was spending a lot more time in the cafeteria, although she did so as much as she could when no one else was around. Bobby very much avoided contact with anyone. She still didn't want herself to have to face them.
Bobby was at the buffet. She had gotten used to controlling the pig so that she could make something from the food offered in the buffet. At first it was tricky, with her fat fingers, but ever so slowly, Bobby got more and more used to them. It wasn't that she wanted something tasting better that she continued her little routine. Combining the food to make something else was now just a pasttime of hers, and it helped her not think so much about the Island and their delimna... and now, especially, her grotesque appearance.
The woman hummed while she made things together. It wasn't uncommon for her to make the equivalent of 5 meals at one time. She was hard at work, and the activity of making the food distracted her from the reality that every so often a squeal or snort would interrupt her song. Amaya Vaughan Like any other day, it was lunchtime and Amaya was getting a little hungry. She came from the jungle, having spent her time basking on any rocks or trees she could find to get her. Though she was getting a little more confident with her... new face, she was still a little weary of new people she didn't know.
As she made her way to the cafeteria, the iguana peeked through the windows in the doors and spotted Bobby. She smiled and quietly pushed the doors open (being mindful of her tail this time).
"Hi Bobby." The girl said quietly and timidly, though she wasn't all that shy around the nice woman she met days before. The older woman's change didn't even seem to register with her. Bobby Reynolds At the sound of Amaya's voice, Bobby paused in her humming and turned. Seeing it was Amaya, the woman smiled happily in greeting. Her bottom canines glinted in light, "Hello, Amaya-dear! Take a seat and I'll whip something up for you? No? We can eat together."
Normally, Bobby would avoid communication. But, she felt Amaya wouldn't mind her changes as much.... and after her little speech with the girl earlier, she felt it would be a criticism of her to say anything or bring attention to her new disgusting-nature. Amaya Vaughan "That sounds nice, okay." Amaya smiled, getting the feeling that Bobby was... an aunt of some sort that you meet every once in awhile that spoiled you rotten while you were under their care. It was strange how she seemed to apoint almost everyone on the island into a family role, whether on purpose or not. Perhaps she was making up for all the time she spent without a family to care for her?
This time the lizard caught the changes, but didn't miss a beat. She had learned that when you transformed, the least thing you wanted was people pointing it out... plus, Bobby really didn't look that bad. A little bigger, maybe. She absently wondered what she was turning into, though dare not ask it.
Amaya walked over to a table near the older woman and spun a chair around before sitting on it, not even caring that she was wearing a skirt and had to pretty much straddle the chair. When you had a tail that was as long as hers, you stopped caring about such tiny things.
"So... how are you doing?" The reptile asked, looking over at her. Her green eyes looked at Bobby no different then they had last time the met. Pig DNA or not, she was still the same nice woman who had been so nice before. Bobby Reynolds From Amaya's tone, Bobby knew the girl wasn't trying to make fun. Inwardly, she shrugged it off as she added making a salad to her already growing 'list' of things to make.
A line of trays with completed dishes were already waiting. One was a kind of tater-tot casserole. Another a strange lasagna (much like Greek Pastitzio with pasta instead of the long lasagna sheets), some regular corn, a stir-fry, a chef salad, and she was woking on more.
Bobby literally held herself back. She finished the last dish she was working on, a sort of steak-lettuce-pasty wrap, and then the salad. The woman made sure everything in the salad was compatible with a lizard.
As she turned around, her arms full with all the entrees, Bobby smiled, "Oh, I'm great... you know the usual.... Well, actually, I've been trying to stay away from other people. And what about yourself? Did you find your friend like you had hoped?"
The woman sat down and handed Amaya the vegetarian salad. Meanwhile, she worked on her own feast. Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, I know that feeling." Amaya said as she watched Bobby, then looked at the salad set in front of her. "Thank you." She said kindly, picking up a fork awkwardly to pick at it before eating some.
The girl didn't speak again until she had swallowed what was in her mouth. She gave a tiny head-bob, her version of a nod. "I found her shortly after I ran into you, actually." A smile crossed her scaley features, taking another bite from her dish.
Amaya wondered why Bobby made so many different dishes... both times she had seen her, she had been doing just that. A way to cope, maybe? ... Poor Bobby. She must have lost a lot due to Moreau. Bobby Reynolds So, Bobby was now a very quick eater. She was already a portion of her way done with the first dish when she looked up at Amaya, "I'm glad you didn't have to spend too long search. You look pretty anxious to see her, I hope she was alright."
The woman could have fought the urge to eat so much, but while the pig in her wanted to eat, it also made it so she didn't want to fight it. Well, at least she'd make it so her manners didn't escape her. She would not talk with her mouth full of food like, well, a pig. "So, did you think about the sleepover yet?" she winked. Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, she's alright. A little shaken up I think, though." The iguana left the fact she was almost raped out, of she didn't know then it wasn't exactly something you spread around. "Her name's Colche. Normally she runs around naked and she's turning into a cheetah, I think." She paused a moment. "I think she's one of the few people that's as far along as I am."
A smile graced her scaley features at the mention of a sleepover. Amaya had one with Colche, but what was another to hurt? "Sure, I don't mind. But who all would come?" Green eyes looked over at Bobby, almost lost among her scales. Bobby Reynolds "Colche?" The women frowned. She had seen the girl soon after the event, although what happened Bobby didn't have a clue. "What happened to her? I met her, and she seemed absolutely horrified when I saw her. Very skittish and bruised to. I didn't want to ask her then, I think it was too soon for that."
"Well, I..." Bobby thought about the people she had met. The estrogen of her list was limited. "I've met you, Colche, Cass, and Joli, so far... well, women at least. Maybe the others would like to come?" Amaya Vaughan "Well... from what Joliette told me someone tried to rape her but failed. I think his name was Billy." The lizard frowned deeply. "Thankfully they got him before he could get very far, but who knows what kind of life Colche came from... it's no wonder she was so afraid." She paused. "That's why I went to see her, to make sure she was doing alright. The bruises are gone and she seems a lot more confident again." Little did she know that she was probably digging a hole for herself, if Bobby were to explode to find out it was Billy who had done it.
But Amaya wanted to get off such an unhappy subject. "I guess you've met all the reptiles so far then." She gave an unhappy smirk. "Greer might want to, I can ask her... though I havn't seen her in awhile, so I'll have to track her down." She tried to think of others. "Oh, and Hargun." Bobby Reynolds "Billy?" The name didn't mean much to her. She thought she knew who the culprit was... but rape? That, she didn't know. Well, she would have to find him and skin him when she does! "I am glad Colche is going better. I did see her, and she seemed much cheerier than our first meeting. The poor thing..."
Bobby laughed as Amaya thought of more names, even though she didn't know who they were. "Yes! The more the merrier! I can make little treats, and we can watch movies and stuff. I am not so sure on the games, maybe a kind of catch-phrase game that would accomodate any, ah... well, you know..." the woman seemed slightly bashful, for she didn't know how far everyone else was in the manner of hands and finger mobility. Amaya Vaughan The reptile gave a head-bob in agreement. "Hargun doesn't really have hands anymore... she's turning into a bat. And Greer is turning into a hawk of some kind, but last I've seen her she still has her hands." She took a few more bites out of her salad. "So how is Cassidy and Joliette doing? I havn't seen either in awhile." Bobby Reynolds Bobby mentally remembered the names, and animals. They would most likely be important to recall, not only in refreshments but also in the kinds of games they could play.
"Cass looks like she is incredibly far in her transformation. Maybe as far as you? I am afraid I am not so sure on the levels here. She does have at least enough of fingers to pick at her poor feathers..." Bobby smilled a little at the memory. She probably scared the other woman when she almost tackled her since she thought Cass was hurting herself.
"I only quickly saw Joliette. She was still not so far... I cannot remember if I learned what she was changing into; although I think, as you mentioned, some reptile, due to her scales, tongue, and claws."
It amazed Bobby for at that moment, she was discussing such things as if they were only a matter-of-fact... incredibly disassociated that these were people she was talking about! Amaya Vaughan "Really?" Amaya looked somewhat surprised. Had Cass changed again? ... The poor woman. She wondered if her legs were totally gone by now, or if she had lost her hair like she had. Mentally she made a note to go see her. Maybe they had common ground now... she knew of no one else that was turning into a reptile that was so far in the transformations.
Come to think of it... when would it end? How many injections had Ambrose said they were getting before it was all over? Would they keep going until they were only animals, wandering about the island and hunting each other for food? The very thought made her frown deeply. Bobby Reynolds Bobby finished another plate. This one, though, while Amaya thought about the dilemna, the pig lifted the plate and started licking all the juice and last bits off of it. She was almost done, and looking at a bleach white plate, when the woman caught herself in mid-lick.
Staring at the plate, Bobby slowly put it back on the table. With her hands still on the sides, she looked at it and started to shake at the thought of what she had just done. The woman hadn't done that since she was a little girl, and even then, her mother would reprimand her immediately.
She looked up at Amaya, not sure if the girl had said anything or not. "What?" she asked, in case she hadn't heard. Amaya Vaughan The girl had caught Bobby's actions out of the corner of her eye, but made no effort to point it out. "Oh, nothing." She smiled and took another bite of her salad, almost finishing it. Eating must have been a quirk to whatever animal the poor woman was turning into.
Her large, pink tongue flickered, catching Bobby's anxiety. "Don't worry about it." Green eyes looked over at her, as if she was able to read what she was thinking just by that simple tongue flick. "We've all got our own quirks now." Bobby Reynolds Bobby finally let go on the plate. Well, at least she hadn't missed something that Amaya had said. Delicately, she clenched her hands together and put them in her lap. She still had to dishes made, but now she was determined to not give in to the cravings, at least for the moment. The animal had taken control, and this was now the repercussions of such an action.
She looked up at Amaya with a small smile, "Yeah, I bet we all do have our little habits now... but that one I have no intention of doing again..." Amaya Vaughan Amaya nodded. "At first I tried not to bask, to fight it the only way I knew how... though by now it seems such a silly thing to do. I know I no longer have full control of my actions anymore." She paused to take another bite of her salad. "And as much as I hate to say it, I am sort of taking all of this laying down... my dad would be pissed." She smirked sadly. "But at the moment, it's all I can think of to do." Bobby Reynolds Bobby glanced at Amaya; she hadn't thought of that! Reptiles were cold-blooded, and their stamina, per say, was dependent on their warmth. As for the sun-bathing... well, that sounded like a good idea! Well, if she could get to the beach when no one was around!
"Well..." Bobby sighed, smiling a little more, "At least your dad isn't here to be disappointed, no?" Amaya Vaughan The iguana gave a slow shake of her head. "No, but I kind of hope he's watching over me somehow. Even if he is shaking his head in disspointment." Her tail gave a nervous twitch as she poked at the last remaining bits of her salad. "Both my parents died when I was little."
Even though she frowned, she didn't seem overly sad about it... it was done and gone in the past and she had moved on. Despite how things were and how much she wished they were with her today, she knew it wasn't going to happen. There was no need to dwell on the past. Bobby Reynolds It took Bobby awhile to realize that Amaya's father was dead. Then, however, the girl confirmed that indeed both parents were dead. What a horrible ordeal. Bobby couldn't imagine her parents dead, and they were still alive and healthy last she check... and of course, she was thirty-two years old! But by thinking of such things, a person will just be more upset.
With a comforting smile, Bobby shook her head, "I hardly think he would be disappointed in you, Amaya. It is a very uncommon and rare thing for any parent to be disappointed in their child, despite what they or anyone else may say. Trust me... I know." She winked over at the girl, her hands still in her lap and refusing to eat further... although, by now they were clenched hard, trying to fight it. Amaya Vaughan "Really?" Amaya looked over at Bobby, her non-existant brows raised. "I hope your right. I know my dad would have wanted me to resist it and do anything I could to help the others on the island... but it doesn't seem like anything is possible. And I know that he would want me to try and be happy too, right?" She looked at the older woman for some kind of affirmation. "That's all I've been trying to do. It's hard enough to keep your spirits up in such a place."
So Bobby had kids? ... That was a shame. A horrible, terrible shame. She knew what it was like to loose a parent. But at least they had their father... hopefully. As long as they stuck with the family they had left, she knew Bobby's family back on the mainland would be alright. As long as they were as strong as their mother. Bobby Reynolds Bobby nodded, "You are exactly right. Support is pretty much the most you can do here. I haven't looked into escape plans yet, but considering all the facilities and precautions I would say it's pretty impossible. Your parents would want you to do the most with your life here... but by trying to enjoy yourself does not mean giving up...."
The words were out of her mouth before she had time to think about it. But, as she considered the words, she wondered if it was possible. Would there ever be a time that she would accept her position her? If she did, would it also mean that she would be allowing voluntary opression? Bobby wasn't sure, but she would have to consider it. Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, your right." The lizard sighed and finished off her salad, then turned and grabbed a bottle of water with three of her elongated fingers. "I guess I just have a hard time getting motivated. There isn't any place for me on the mainland and especially not now." Green eyes looked down at her scale-covered form. "And as horrible as it sounds, I developed a family here... Though early on I did try and think a lot about escape. For the others."
Her eyes went to the ceiling, searching for any hidden cameras. "But they've got cameras everywhere, an electrified fence surrounding the labs... during the lockout we were able to climb it but still couldn't even get inside. It's like a fortress." Gah, Amaya was rambling now.
"Sorry, tripped up in my own thoughts." The reptile smiled half-heartedly at Bobby. Bobby Reynolds "There is nothing wrong with creating a new family," Bobby cocked her head at Amaya. "It sounds like you didn't have too much of a family to begin with anyways, sorry if I overstep my boundaries there."
"Lockout??" the woman frowned. This was the first she had heard of sucha thing. "No, no, by all means, think... it helps me figure out what's been going on around here." Bobby smiled encouragadely.
She broke down... talking at a table like old pals required food.... Unfolding her hands, Bobby reached over and started one of the last two dishes she had prepared. She made a mental note that these would be the last things she ate until her next meal. Amaya Vaughan "No, they were wonderful. I lived with my mom and dad until they passed on. Then I lived with my grandmother until she died. Beyond that I didn't know any of my other family and we put up for adoption... that's how they got me. I was given a choice to stay there or come to their 'tropical resort' for orphaned teenagers." Amaya gave a shrug and sipped on her water after a flick of her tongue.
"And yeah, lockout." The girl paused. "A... month ago, I think we were all locked out of our duplexes for about 2 months. We thought something major really happened... but it turns out it was just an experiment." Her brow furrowed and she almost dived into how she had changed out there and almost died but... no. She was talking way too much.
Something in her mind seemed to nag at her for doing so. Amaya didn't think for one minute that it was the iguana DNA keeping her quieter and quieter, compared to how bouncy and chatty she had been when she arrived at the island. Bobby Reynolds Bobby nodded, "I am glad there was still someone to care for you. I've seen many people orphaned and given no place to stay. Many times, I was tempted to take them home with me. My husband wouldn't have liked that, though."
"An experiment?" Her brows furrowed as that took effect. How dare they!? Aren't they already enough of an experiment? She wasn't entirely sure how much was entailed in 'experiment', but she could tell it wasn't good. Amaya Vaughan Amaya nodded with a sad frown, her tail twitching before she looked back over to the older woman.
"Anyway, I should go... the air conditioning is starting to get to me." She stood and deposited her tray in the proper place before walking slowly back over to Bobby, her movements looking dragged on due to the cold. Then she did something she hadn't done in months.
She embraced the pig-like woman.
"Thanks Bobby... and I'm sorry."
All her conversations with Bobby seemed to end that way. But before she could chide her or say anything, her tail had already vanished out the double doors to the cafeteria.

Unfortunate Meeting(Alec and Amaya run into each other on the beach)Amaya Vaughan Amaya lay on the very edge of the jungle on the beach. She was on her side wearing what seemed to be very little as she allowed herself some peaceful time to bask.
Thing has been going pretty well lately. No horrible run-in's, no one yelling at her or calling her a lier, no one new to bump into that would give her a hard time... Maybe being out of her duplex wasn't so bad.
The warm sun was incredibly relaxing, paired with the headphones on her non-existant ears that blasted ACDC into her skull.
Today would be a nice day. Alec Derring Alec had stepped out into the warm sun earlier that day, spending his time wandering the jungle in an attempt to locate a nice area to enjoy for himself. "Th' Doc told us t' enjoy the beach, so Imma enjoy th' beach!" He grinned to himself, stomping through the sandy ground underfoot as he followed the sound of sloshing waves. Having left the white top he usually wore back in his duplex, the punkster was enjoying the warm climate more than anything though his drumsticks were still stuffed in the pockets of the same shorts he wore yesturday.
"Well ain't that someth'n t' see, eh?" He shouted enthusiastically when he stepped over the threshold that brought him from the misty jungle to a bright, sandy beach. In fact, he was so pleased with his discovery of a little paradise that he rejected the idea of anyone else being with in hearing range as he broke into a rather irritating rendition of "California Sun". Amaya Vaughan The iguana would have been content to lounge there until it got dark and she had to find refuge inside. Though unfortunatly for her there was something interupting her song... like a fly buzzing around her headphones. She frowned, her tail giving a quick lash as she opened her eyes and pulled her headphones off as she sat up. Green eyes that seemed to hide with her green skin scanned the area, then landed on Alec.
Amaya froze.
Her eyes went wide as she stared at him, her body tense. Her mind screamed for her to run into the jungle and hide, since she didn't know this person... but maybe, they already knew?
Against her common sense, the lizard stayed sitting where she was. Alec Derring Unfortunately for Amaya, Alec was scanning every inch of the beach at the moment, drinking in the blues of the ocean waves and how it contrasted so nicely with the sandy shore. It was inevitable that his eyes would land on the green speck that stood out amongst the scenery, immediately gathering his attention.
"...Some kindeh lizehd?" He narrowed his gaze and diverted his path towards the creature, the distance between the two making the actual size of the girl misleading so that she seemed a mere animal to the misinformed. Amaya Vaughan Amaya sat farther up as he started to walk towards her.
s**t. Shitshitshitshit.
She turned off her CD player and swallowed hard, but stayed where she was. If this guy already knew the nature of the island then it would be okay... if not, then...
The reptile continued to fight with herself, half of her wanting to run into the cover of the forest and up a tree, the other wanting to stay incase this guy already knew.
From what she could see he looked pretty cool and... kind of attractive.
Iguana DNA or not, she was still a 16-year-old girl. Alec Derring As view came into focus, it became more apparent to the teen that all was not right in what he saw. The gecko... thing... didn't look like a gecko anymore from up close. In fact it looked like somesort of dinosaur off of the Discovery channel. Alec's paced slowed to a stop a few metres from Amaya, borth apparently frozen in place as they stared at each other.
Eyes grew wider as they traced her form, his stomach beginning to tighten and spasm along with his pounding heart. It didn't seem threatening, but it was apparent he had stumbled upon a creature that was a little more dangerous than a standard jungle lizard. He couldn't get over her eyes. They weren't reflectant on the environment as one would expect from "a dumb animal", but seemed to delve deeper... into an actual soul.
It was then that he noticed the clothing, the CD player. What the hell was going on.
"Wuh-..." Alec began to sputter without thinking, colour draining from his face. Amaya Vaughan Amaya met his eyes, matching his fear... but for very different reasons.
So he didn't know.
Slowly she hooked her CD player to her shorts and with her body lowered to the ground started to back up on all fours.
Don't scream. Please don't scream. Alec Derring Alec wasn't a man of courage. Hell, in most countries he wasn't considered a man at all yet. This, this was too much for a little brain to comprehend. "Kay... kay we're all friends 'ere..." He began to raise his hands in a passive gesture, unable to read the girl's expression of matched fear.
What the ********, what the ******** it's MOVING.
"AHHHH!!!!!!" Alec let out a peircing scream despite his attempted self-control. He tried to flee though all he managed to do was stumble backwards and roughly land on his rump in the sand. Scrambling to continue his retreat, he remained in his position as he flailed and kicked up sand. Amaya Vaughan The girl's whole body spasmed as he screamed and started to back up frantically. For a moment she stopped moving, and just watched him.
Then her face contorted, tears welling into her eyes. A sob escaped her mouth before she forced herself up quickly, spinning around to run back to the village. Alec Derring "AHHHHH!!!" The screams kept coming as Amaya flinched and fled into the jungle, the quick motions only adding to the terror he was experiencing. In a futile attempt to retreat as well, the teen just ended up landing in the sand again. "AH GAWD DON'T EAT M' PLEASE!!!" He cowered and covered his face, remaining in that position until nothing could be heard but the waves of the ocean.
Alec opened his eyes and peered behind him but saw nothing of the horrible green creature. He didn't think twice as he scrambled to his feet and sprinted back the way he came to the confines of the duplexes.

Amaya had run all the way to her duplex after the run in with Alec, opening up her door quickly and slamming it behind her. Her back leaned on the door as she sniffled, the tears on her face having dried from the run.
Her large hands went to her face, contorted in pain as she sobbed.
Slowly she walked over to her bed and fell ontop of it, burrying her face into her pillow as she continued to weep.
She was a monster.
A hiddeous, disgusting monster.
Amaya would never find love. Never find a life outside this island. Never do so many things that others had the opportunity for.
Despite the fact it was afternoon, she managed to cry herself to sleep.

Reptile Time(Amaya and Cass meet up in the jungle)Amaya Vaughan New RPAfter the incident with the mohawk boy at the beach, it would be an understandment to say that Amaya was in the dumps. She had cried herself to sleep a few hours ago, then afterwards... for some unknown reason she had wandered into the jungle. Something told her it was safe there.
The iguana had climbed a tree and lay on her stomach on one of the branches. Green eyes stared out at the area below and ahead of her, bloodshot and tired. The frown on her scaley features said a lot about her mood at the moment.
Amaya closed her eyes, tail giving a twitch. The pendent she wore slid off the branch and hang loosly below it, though never saw anywhere else but around her neck. Cassidy Smith Cass had her nose deep within the pages of a book as she slithered along, her tongue flickering occassionally to just touch the paper. The weather wasn't bad at all, she was just getting to a really good part, and really, things were as good as they could be expected to. A faint, oddly familiar scent caught her attention, her tongue hesitating half-extended. It had been a little while since she'd smelled that properly, but... Curious, Cassidy looked around, trying to spy something. She saw nothing at first, then the flash of something bright in the sun, somewhere up above. A pendant! And there above.... "Amaya? Is that you?" Amaya Vaughan Green eyes opened once more, the lizard's tail giving a flick. That voice sounded familar...
Leaning up a little, she turned to look down at Cassidy... and there was a lot of her to look at.
Amaya couldn't help but be taken aback... and she had thought she had it bad. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it's me. Hey Cassidy."
She got to her hands and feet on the branch (which wrapped around them with long, clawed toes), and began to head down head-first.
Even if the reptile didn't have a branch to grab onto, her claws tended to latch onto the bark and give her enough strenght to keep her from falling. Cassidy Smith Cass tucked her bookmark between the pages and the book under her arm. Amaya was looking... rather more extremely reptilian, since the last time she'd seen her, but the same went for her. She was secretly quite thankful that she hadn't lost all her hair yet, but her hopes of keeping what she had seemed dashed. "I think you manage trees better than me," Cassidy said. "How're you doing? Feeling all right?" Amaya Vaughan Amaya crawled off the tree and then sat down at the base, her long tail curling as much as it could to stay out of the way.
"I'm doing alright, I guess." She shrugged, not wanting to seem so down about what had happened earlier in the day. "What about you?" Her eyes looked back up at Cassidy, almost blending in with the rest of her body now that their didn't seem to be much white in her eyes left. Cassidy Smith "As well as can be expected." Cassidy coiled herself nearby, and set her book on what might be reasonably considered her lap. "My boyfriend's gone fuzzy, but the weather's nice... thought I'd climb a tree and do some reading." She peered at Amaya a little more closely. "I didn't know you'd changed so far," she said, and punctuated this with a tongue flick. "You're looking all right." She smiled as kindly as she could. Amaya Vaughan The girl smirked. "Vasile changed again?" The her expression became more serious. "Is he doing alright?"
Amaya gave her a head-bob. "Yeah, I changed the night before the duplexes opened up again... I didn't know you did either. Bobby mentioned you though, so I kind of guessed." She paused and smiled back at her. "You too. I guess some of your hair stayed?" She inquired. Cassidy Smith "He's doing all right. Still adjusting. Like most of us, I guess." Cass shrugged easily, as though to dismiss the worry she felt for him. "He feels really soft, though. Like a big teddy bear." She giggled a bit. "I changed... I don't know. Two or three weeks ago, I guess." She plucked at a bit of her scraggly hair. "Just the short stuff is left. I'm not terribly hopeful that this stuff's going to stay, either, as neither snakes nor birds usually have hair." She sighed a bit. "I suppose... I'll get used to it. I guess I have to." Amaya Vaughan The teen couldn't help but laugh a little. "So is he a... dog, then? Or a fox?" By the tail he had last she'd seen him, it would probably be like one of the two.
"Yeah... The thought I wouldn't keep mine didn't even occure to me until it fell off." Amaya frowned and ran one of her large hands over her head, the spikes folding back and the springing back up like some sort of mohawk.
"So I guess your getting around okay?" She asked, having noticed that Cassidy seemed to be able to slither around now. Cassidy Smith Cass considered. "We think he's a fox. We don't exactly know. I hope so, because that'd be nice for him." She tugged idly on her feathers, her new habit after no longer being able to twist her braid. "Losing my hair hadn't occurred to me, either. I haven't had hair this short in years. I think," she said, "I just took it for granted that it'd always be there." And yet, she had it safely tucked away in a drawer, every last strand she'd been able to find. "And I am. Much better than I was before my last injection, anyway." She wiggled the end of her tail. "As long as I don't think about it too much. It's sort of weird." Her feathers fluffed. "You seem to be doing okay, for the most part. I hope that's true." Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, that'd be nice." The iguana gave another headbob and listened to Cassidy.
"I fainted when I first lost it and for a long time I was really self-conscious about it... wouldn't leave my duplex. I don't even look like a girl anymore..." She paused, thinking if saying the next thing allowed would be too much. Though both of them were reptiles, so... probably not. "I don't really have... boobs anymore. They're smaller and... yeah. Just kind of like lumps, I guess." Amaya fidgetted with her fingers, her own nervous habit. Cassidy Smith "I know this grief well," Cassidy said, with a faint laugh. "I'm not sure where my nipples got to." And a few other things, honestly, but that was just embarrassing. "Amaya, you look perfectly girlish. It's.... it's in your clothing, the way you carry yourself. I'm sure even girl lizards have their ways of attracting the boy lizards." She grinned. "Same for snakes. If I can figure out what it is, I'll have every boy snake on the island eating out of my hand. Wing. Whatever." ...oh, yuck. What an awful thing to imagine. Amaya Vaughan "Guess your right." The lizard smirked.
"So how did you fair through the rain? I didn't see you much." She asked, looking up at Cassidy again. From what she remembered, the snake woman was cold-blooded as well. Nita MacNeal It had been a long night for a certain Nita MacNeal. After talking to Lauren and Angharad, she had found bottled water and a couple of candy bars in the minifridge. She'd ventured out again around false dawn, located the cafeteria, grabbed some toast, and scurried back to her duplex. By now she was restless, and reading in bed wasn't quite enough. She thought maybe she'd settle down in a quiet spot on the beach for a bit. Of course, she didn't know exactly where the beach was... In any case, she ended a little way into the lush jungle, following a faintly marked path. Nita wasn't really lost. It was more that she didn't know where she was, but then she didn't really have any specific destination in mind, so it hardly mattered. The hum of insects and the raucus calls of wild birds filled her ears, until she heard something a bit more familiar. Human voices. She angled slightly, still keeping the path in sight, sort of half-heartedly seeking the company that must be somewhere nearby. Cassidy Smith Cassidy shook her head. "I was miserable. Curled up somewhere with this girl, Kim, and slept through most of it. Couldn't really stay awake." She shrugged. "She's cold-blooded too, but I have no clue what she might be turning into." Something very strange, that was for certain. "What did you do? You're here, and in one piece, so you must have managed okay." Amaya Vaughan Unfortunatly for Nita, Amaya didn't notice the ever-approaching footsteps... the last thing she had on her mind was someone she didn't know, whom was completely human, would trapple upon the two reptiles.
"Ohhh, Kim. Yeah, I dunno either... I led her to camp. Nice to know she was alright." The girl smiled. "I... survived." Her tongue flickered. "I was away from camp when the rain started. I wouldn't have made it back if it weren't for Chubbs and a woman named... Lily, I believe." She paused. "They carried me back to camp." Nita MacNeal The voices grew clearer and eventually the speakers came into view. Nita stopped dead in her tracks. "Holy Mother of God," she whispered, crossing herself reflexively, a gesture she hadn't made in years. Right there in front of her were two women who had changed far more drastically than Lauren. They seemed to be some sort of lizard and a snake, although Nita had never seen any snake with feathers like that. A vague memory from a Comparative Studies class she'd taken tugged at the back of her mind. Confused, surprised, but not especially frightened, Nita took one step back-- and snapped a stick underfoot. She froze again, trying not to feel like she was guilty of spying. "Um," she said eloquently. "Hi." Cassidy Smith "I haven't met any Lily yet," Cassidy began, then turned in surprise. For a moment, she simply stared, her mouth slightly agape, before she closed it and her tongue flickered. Someone new, very likely. Good lord. "Er, hi there." Cass waved awkwardly. She glanced at Amaya, and plunged ahead, hoping it was all right, "We were just talking. Did you want to come join us?" Better that she see that there were still people under the scales, Cass supposed. Amaya Vaughan Amaya's head snapped around too look at the new girl, her body tensing and tongue flickering. She could taste her anxiety.
Run. Just run now.
And she agreed with herself this time.
"... Hi." The teen looked down at the ground, then between the two of them.
"... But... I... better be going. I havn't eaten anything today." It was only a partial lie. She was hungry.
"I'll see you around Cassidy. Come by to talk whenever you want." She gave her an appologetic look, knowing that she was leaving the snake woman with someone new to the island.
But right now... she just couldn't handle it. Not twice in the same day.
With a nod and sad smile to both of them, she stood and headed back towards civilization.((And wrap for me. D: Sorry to cut it short.))

Alec kicked at the tufts of grass as he passed them, wandering his way along the rows of duplexes. It'd had taken him nearly an hour and a half to figure out the use of the damned electronic directory, but eventually he had coaxed the number to "Amaya Vaughan"'s duplex number from the information provided.
The boy lively whistled as he rounded the corner though his level of anxiety and nervousness were quite high. He fell silent as he stood infront of the door, fist clenched. He gave a good bang and waited.

Amaya was contently listening to The Killers on her stereo and occupying herself with making new clothes... as hard as it was with her new hands. But hard or not, she wasn't about to contact the staff and ask them for something she could wear.
Once the knock sounded off she looked up from her sitting position on the bed towards the door.
Who could that be?
Blinking green eyes, the iguana slid off her bed and set her things aside before awkwardly opening the door. Afterall, no one she didn't know would knock.
... Right?
Though once her gaze set on the figure of the punk she'd seen at the beach she froze and meeped, ducking back behind the door. It was still partially open, her long fingers holding the side as a single green eye looked up at him from behind the rim of her hat.

Alec inwardly winced as she hid from him, finding it awkward to be the one hiding this time. His gaze fell to the dirt caked on his boots and he rubbed at the back of his neck for a moment as he thought of what to do.
"Aye." He said modestly, clearing his throat. "C'n Amaya come out t'play?" The teen smirked shyly though kept his gaze downwards.

Amaya watched him, her tail giving a twitch. If she still had the ability to blush, she probably would have.
"Your not gonna... scream again, are ya?" She tentivly asked, opening the door a little bit more.
The girl wore a plain red tank top with a frayed red skirt, her tail tucked under it since the only way to hold it up was by the spikes running down her spine. The pendant she had when they first ran into each other was still around her neck, like it never saw anywhere else.
She was also standing flat-footed, her now much more elongated toes aching too much when she stood on the balls of her feet. Alec was about six inches taller then her now because of it.

Alec shook his head, kicking at the ground in a jittery shift of his weight from foot to foot. "Ne-no, I got oveh that." He responded, the smirk washing from his features upon mention of his uncouth reaction to her odd features. "A' got 'The talk.'" He made the hand gestures to match, feeling just as the statement had sounded. Much less naive, much less innocent. It was amazing how much one could change in such short a time.
"Ye, m'sorreh. They shoulda... A' d'now, put up a sign or somethin. Or hand out pamphlets." He was of course referring to the misinformation.

"Ah. I see." Amaya frowned. "And it's okay... your not the first to react to me in that way. And you didn't know." She forced a tiny smile, then opened the door up all the way. "It would be easier if the other islanders didn't have to tell the new people the bad news... but the staff doesn't put many of the burdens on their own shoulders."
Ugh, she was rambling again.
"So uh..." The lizard paused. "Did you wanna come in? Or... take a walk? You probably have a lot of questions." Her gaze drifted up from her freakishly long toes to his face.

A part of him considered leaving her be, but at this point Alec was hungry for attention and another friendly conversation. Although he greatly appreciated Antony and Joli's understanding acceptance, Amaya was right. He had lots of things on his mind.

Amaya nodded and stepped aside to allow him in, going to a nob on the wall by the door. She turned the heat down to 'normal' for him. "Sorry if it's a little hot in here. I don't take well to air conditioning anymore."
Once he was inside she closed the door and turned her stereo down a little. There was a tiny table by the window with two chairs by it where he could sit, or he could take residence on her bed. It didn't matter much to her.
"Ask away."
The teen smiled and sat down in one of the chairs, spinning it around so her tail could hang off the back and onto the floor. The fact she was straddling it didn't seem to bother her... afterall, there wasn't many other ways for her to sit anymore.
The fact that Alec had screamed, ran away and made her cry the other day seemed to be lost on her. He had come back. He had appologized and it wasn't his fault.
"Oh and... what's your name? I didn't catch it."
