Asakura nodded, although the motion was a bit more like a bow as she steepled her long fingers together.
"I think honourifics are just Japanese, but I could be wrong. It denotes position, starting from -dono, which means high lord. Then it goes -sama, -san, and then there's -chan and -kun. -San in English is closest to calling people Mr or Miss or whatever. -Chan and -kun are used for friends, -chan more for girls, -kun for guys."
The mecha made a motion with her hands, spreading her fingers wide.
"And that's the basic jist. So, really,"
Here the android came close to blushing again,
"I'm asking if I can refer to you as a friend..."
She sneezed again.
"Pfft, yeah, despite the increased speed, strength and hydrophobia, I'm a totally normal girl..."
She laughed.

"Hm, I was close at least!." matthew laid down with his head on a log, staring up at Asakura.
"Well then, yes, you may call me Matt-kun. In which case I shal call you Asakura-chan..." Matthe chuckled slightly as soon as Asakura mentions her diffrences.
"But see, you can controll them better then most Mecha people could..HEY and with both strength and spped you'd win at a piggy back race, wanna be my partner!" Matthew exclaimed in a joking manner.
"Really, my mom and dad would kill me...So if they ask I'm just gonna say something along the lines of. Oh she's this really amazing, beautiful, funny, did I mentioned beautiful...girl I met at camp.."

She blushed lightly, smiling weakly. "My parents know I'm not very social, so the fact that I have a picture of a boy in my room would thrill them."

"Yeah, you got the -san bit down! Most people I talk to wonder 'what the heck is she putting on the end of my name? Does she have a tic or something'?"
Asakura snickered, rubbing water away from her eyes.
"I guess I should try to be a bit more Western in, I dunno, going 'round and calling people dude? But my programming is in Japanese, so it's like denying your origin."
Although the android was very pleased at the thought that she had another friend, something else made itself known from Matt's speech.
"Jeez, how many Mecha people do you know?"
Asakura inquired quizzically, raising an eyebrow, training totally forgotten.
"And wouldn't that be cheating? 'Though,"
She mused with a laugh,
"My height plus yours, we'd be like theeees high,"
The robot reached up on her tiptoes to indicate a tall measurement.

Matt smiled, "I had a pet robot it was a dog that my dad programed to talk insted of bark. So he always called me Matt-San. Or Matt-kun."Matt ponderd the thought of being that tall.
"If you aint' cheaten' you aint' tryn'." Matt smiled. "Oh god dont' ever say dued, I hate when people do that..Makes me think of my little twit step-brother..." "Really, I like your little sisters, twins right, I find it cool the way they both say the same thign at the same time."
