The Gamer Ok, this is gonna sound totally wacky but here goes.....I live for video games, and I've loved them since...I can't remember. A lot of people say I'm pretty good too and because of this, people automatically call me a tom-boy as in I have boy interests. I even dress like a guy too, all T-shirts and baggy jeans ((actually, today in school, this person at the office called me "young man" and....ok you get it)). Yeah, and guys arn't really attracted to girls like that so I decided I don't really care about boyfriends and such. I personally want a guy who digs video games just as much as I do and never goes easy on me when we play Soul Calibur 2. Some girls may not like competitive boys but I do. I also want a guy who'll share other interests with me and treat me like a person, not just a gamer-girl neutral First of all... I am not looking for a girl friend! That message was to everybody reading said message, not just to "The Gamer." xD *huggles the gamer* I'm happy that you have guy interests, 'cause I've been known to have a few girl interests. xD Mainly when it comes to anime. I'm not really happily single, but I'm getting used to it. I've been used to having relationships, then I got to college and my I ended up having to mediate my gf and I through a break up, 'cause I almost always mediate the break up, usually for the sake of the gf's happiness. e.e (*has done this on three different occasions throughout his life and is only freakin' 18* That's some s**t right there, by the way. I enjoy making people happy, but why isn't anyone else considerate towards the way I think? ... O.O DONE RANTING!) Yay for meeting new people in college! I'm not that outgoing when it comes to making close friends, but I do know a whole lot of people. I've dated different gamer girls in the past, and it strikes me as funny that you people think that all gamer girls must be uber nerdy! Not that there's anything wrong with nerdy gamer girls. *once again, I've dated at least three different types of gamer girl* *sigh* (I'm single now because I'm too nice. I'm not "manly" enough sometimes. e.e Honestly, I just don't feel like making a big fu**ing deal out of stupid things that most guys do. *I suppose I just really needed to rant! O.O five bucks says no one will read all this. xD*) Well, I just wanted The Gamer to know that there are guys out there that think that it's kinda cute to see a girl with a t-shirt and baggy jeans sometimes. It's always nice to see them dressed up as well, but if you have a good personality and a good sense of humor, it shines through whatever you happen to be wearing. Most people don't get that... stupid judgemental.. *mumble mumble grumble*

It's kinda nice to be back and talking to people that I have no idea of their true personas. xD)

So what have we learned?
Sexism and giant egos=BAD. Being sweet and suportive=GOOD.
Honestly, though, before you go asking complete strangers on something that can seem as cold and informal as the internet what girls want in guys, you should be asking yourself everything you want in a girl.
My mom has this saying; "All guys, to a certain degree, are dumb. All girls, no matter WHAT they say, are crazy. You just gotta find the one person who's bad qualities you can tolerate the most." I more or less agree with her.

I know this thread is kinda old and dusty, but it makes me really mad. Why? Because every gaming group I've EVER been in has been mostly guys; because these groups of guys love to gossip, throw unjust mantles of sexism upon me, use me as story bait in tabletop rpgs by making me either a Paperbag Princess or the Sorceress-in-distress kidnapped by orcs; because these guys won't play games with me unless coerced; because the girls I did meet in gaming groups ended up playing the Best Girl mindtrip and made me feel further isolated from other girl gamers; and because most male gamers I've met have harassed, hit on, drooled over, gaped at, or outright G R O P E D me, or tried to get a gander up my skirt/dress or down my blouse... those who didn't still tried to convince me to date them, and would only hang out and play games with me because they thought they had a chance.
The guy I'll most likely fall for probably doesn't exist, much less would be attracted to me or even interested in gaming. He certainly would not fit the mold of being yet another sad man in sheer, blinding denial of all his insecurities and failings (and violently passionate about defending the denial), and would not impose his mother-nurturer issues on me, would not ask me to explore aspects of my sexuality before I'm ready, would not have the violently starved, drooling look of a creepy ***** when I underestimate the angle at which my panties might accidentally become visible if I choose to wear a skirt on a hot summer day. I most of all would not find him attractive if he only was around me because I was a gamer girl. I'm tired of being preyed upon.

i'm one of those gamer girls where i went to go buy points for my 360 and a kreepy old dude was so shocked that a girl liked oblivian that he started talking about me being "the marrining type" i like guys who share my taste with games and aren't turned off by a girl who's a tank at some fighting games. i dated a guy who liked games and he would always get mad when i won and ignored me when he got his new game. Advice: don't get pissed when we win don't ignore us when u get a new game
