They also better pray those 40 Warriors were within 6" of a Lord with a Resurrection Orb, or that's instant death and no WBB.

and finaly theres necrons, they're space marines that never die. after killing a necron it can just stand right back up onto its feet, its not a pretty sight for your enamy when those 40 warriors that just got poped by all 3 of their vindicators, and 2 tactical squads stand up like nothing happend. they also have the monolith, lets keep it simple, troops teleport to it, and it shoots every squad within 12" with D6 shots, its also immune to armor destroying weppons. i hate necrons...
Yeah exactly like the marines, minus special characters, customization, a relatively good variety of combat and unit types. You can make soem funky colors, but its not the same as creating your own heraldry, colors, marine skin color and biology, background and alegiances, hell sometimes the way their armor looks, post pr pre heresy. Yup exactly like the marines.
I have a friend that started with 'crons, and Ive known others, their not bad as starters though theyre outgrown pretty quickly due to the lack of options and fluff. I can understand the marine comparison for stats, but at the same time for the purpose of making a choice as starters theyre nowhere similar.

I can understand the marine comparison for stats, but at the same time for the purpose of making a choice as starters theyre nowhere similar.*twitches impulsively from lack of apostrophe use* You know, he didn’t say “the whole of the Necron army list is that of the Space Marines”, he simply said Necrons were Space Marines that never die, which, as anyone could gander at, meant that down the line, Necron basic units and Space Marine basic units have largely identical stats, with little variation, with the main divider being that additional save. After all, yes, their basic units are almost the same. Of course, on the main topic, Necrons are wonderful for beginners. The army list tells you how to take them, with no real thinking about your actual army involved past a few times totaling on a calculator. Your only real customization comes with choosing which shinies to go with your lord. Thing I hate about Necrons is that they have nothing to them, yet are still really good just like that…….thus there isn’t much striving to put together an effective force once you get into your head the notion that: “hey, my warriors are everything and can kill anything……lets throw more in!” So of course they get fairly boring fairly quickly……. Thus, while Necrons are awesome for beginners, I would still suggest Space Marines. Within themselves, Space Marines can be very simple to understand and play as initially, with minimal understanding of your army and how it works required to play, yet you can still improve and have lengths to take to make your army better as you learn more about the game and can delve deeper into their codex or any of their branching codex’s.

Fear my lack of apostraphe's and random punctuation, in fact I shall not have a period at the end of this sentence
Oooh burn
Anyways, thats essentially what Im gettin at, boring as hell. Most people I deal withwant soemthing they can poor creative enrgy in, not just play with as it is, or else theyd get an RTS. I really dont recomend necrons unless the eprson has a thing for how they look.
And its 'codecies'.

well a good necron players should learn to be flexible and take stuff like destroyers and in certain cases pariahs.
Yeah, but I got to admit, warrior that can kill anything is bit... prone to spamming

HellecticMojo well a good necron players should learn to be flexible and take stuff like destroyers and in certain cases pariahs. Yeah, but I got to admit, warrior that can kill anything is bit... prone to spamming Good Necron players will never, ever take Pariahs. There is absolutely no reason to take Pariahs. Destroyers, Heavy Destroyers, Scarabs, Wraiths and Immortals are all good things to take and will be taken by most Necron players with a modicum of sense. But Necron Warriors can hardly 'kill anything.' The Gauss rule is helpful against vehicles, but then it's necessary because of the lack of dedicated anti-tank weapons in the Necron list. And while people say that thier weapons wound on a 6 regardless of toughness, they don't ignore armor like rends, and the vast majority of thier weapons could already wound on a 6.

American Heritage Dictionary co·dex (kō'děks') Pronunciation Key n. pl. co·di·ces (kō'dĭ-sēz', kŏd'ĭ-) A manuscript volume, especially of a classic work or of the Scriptures. In short, the actual word is codices, but since GW can't be arsed to actually use the dictionary, they're lazy and use 'codexes.'

That's also because the Modern Language Association has stated that it's unnecessary to use Latin pluralization in English words.
Singular: Codex, octopus, medium, virus Traditional: Codices, octopi, media, viruses Technically correct but make you look less educated: Codexes, octopuses, mediums, virii
... okay, so I threw that last one in there to make a point. sweatdrop

Actually, becauase of the origins of the word Octopus from Latin or Greek, and it not being the other (I forget), then Octopusses is actually the correct way of saying it, not Octopi. Octopods is acceptable.
I heard it some some nature TV show, and s**t like that only sticks in your headif you heard it from some reliable source.

I love how topics change so much in here.

When I play games, my friend and I generealy play no ordinance. So no Russes, Defilers, Catachan Demo Kits, Monoliths, Bassies, etc. Grenade Launchers are good, so are freg and krak missiles from Obliterators.
It adds more to the game.
If you lose your Ordinance, then theirs will trash your men, and if you take out theirs, it's not gonna be much fun once the rolling os over and done with. Which sucks.
Use tactics, not tanks.
