He let her do her thing first, though there was an instinctive want to grab a pistol...before smirking.

"wastes of energy. I don't want to tangle with it. but I don't trust it. not one bit. So I am trying to prepare for the enevitable confrontation. while the rest are so easy to allow this to be a coincidence, I don't think it is. I think we're being setup, and I lack the faith to have things like hope when my gut tells me something is amiss."

chuckling.

"If I wanted in your armor, I could get there. I may not know magic, but I do know the weakpoints of leather, chain and steel. and how to exploit them. of course, that would be if we were enemies, which we're not. and while you make resist my charm, there are other methods that are more underhanded if I really wanted to push it."

a slight shrug.

"But, that's neither here nor there at the moment. for now we wait, and we watch."

Shyrae threw her arms around Sky's neck and hugged her tightly, patting her lightly. "Very good, Sky! See, you managed both ways." She was rather pleased to know she was a good teacher as well, especially since she didn't have a clue of the way dragon bodies worked. Releasing the dragon, she bent down an swiped her fingers over the rune, erasing it and the little phantasm as well. "Well, that's done. Now what?"

"That could easily be debated Captain, but now is not the time or place." Referring of course to the difference in their lifestyles and why they did what they did. She glanced at Jae and nodded, "Whenever you're ready. Kaznec, do you have the pendant I gave you? Give it to Jaebell if you do."

He popped up behind her about ten minutes later and grinned. "Not in some woman's bed if that's what you were thinking, my Lady." Giving a nod to the others and then ruffling Gem's hair after removing her hat of course. Plopping it back on her head, he offered an explanation. "I thought the kids that randomly popped up a few weeks ago might have some kind of connection to the black. Don't ask me why or how but I decided to search the hold where they were playing and see if they left anything behind." He reached into his pocket and removed one of the wooden toys in the shape of a fish, plopping it into Gem's hand. "Look familiar?"

"Right. After we decide on a safe course of action and solve the issues at hand, I'll figure something out." Giving her a solemn nod that probably held no real conviction. After all, he couldn't exactly control himself and his worrying. He could, however, call it something else and that would be safe. Glancing to Eilynne, he blinked for a moment at her request and then extracted the pendant from the pouch at his side, looping it around Jae's neck and centering it on her upper chest. Extra protection was always good but he would still keep an eye on them when they went out. His uncle... hmm...

"You're wise not to trust it. Those that trust things they know nothing of, are always the first to die. Such a thing is profitable in my line of work, but the constant head shaking at the display of stupidity does tend to hurt the neck. But a setup or no...sometimes one must walk directly into the trap...it's a matter of touching the bait or not." Letting him go and taking to leaning on the railing. "Leather, chain, and steal are hardly the only armor material, even moreso when it comes to elves." Quiet for a moment. "Oh, so we're not enemies yet you would still be dirty and underhanded to push me in a direction that would suit you?"

She gave a purr, nuzzling at Shyrae. Hm, it was different to be back in the skin that she spent so much time in, and she decided that both forms had their advantages. Now she seemed all excited again agin what not in her posturing...and rearing up slightly she grabbed Shyrae and hop glided off the deck, landing near that large pool of cool clear water. "Now bath."

"Someone get a map for Ice." Snapping her fingers at that before turning back to them."Debates are fun." Shrugging with a grin and then frowning when Thobias popped up, but he was a smart one and knew not to come without an excuse that she would at least halfheartedly believe. "Really? Usually you're a quicker response to shot fired." Adjusting her hat some before looking to the item in her hand. "Ugh, whirl fish. I hate those...sand, water, it doesn't matter to them they make life miserable when they get all riled up." Raising an eyebrow at him. "Sailor's intuituion gnawing at your gut?"

"I'm good now...sooner the better." But this pendant was coming back into question and she was beginning to wonder exactly the signifigance of it. A slight tug of a smile as Kaz took it as his job to be sure she was wearing it. His compulsion for order made him make sure it was sitting striaght, but that was somehow endearing and just Kaznec. "One step at a time, those are how the best plans are laid, whether in haste or ease." Turning a look down to Eilynne, "Alright, when you're ready Eilynne." Taking the map that was them brought to her.

A slight chuckle.

"I'm a pirate. it's in my nature to do what needs be done to get what I want. hence the sinking of other ships, the looting of old ruins, and so on."

but glancing back at her.

"Yes, I've heard you elves have some unique metals at your disposal. though elves that have it, or at least openly display or use it, are virtually unheard of here. and by the way....where did you get your boney friend? not one of mine, I hope?"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 19, 2007 6:12 pm

"It's no wonder my father sees something....well at least worthy of acknowledging about you. You're a go-getter." Hands feeling out the wood in front of her somewhat. But a little nod. "That we do, and we know how to use them...not all metal is forged and crafted in the same manner. This place being all but a desert...I wouldn't seem to think you'd find too much ot it around here...unless you have a subeterranian system that has metal veins in it." A look over to indeed the creature that was still constructed and holding her post at the moment. "Someone that did wrong by my father. Too tall to be one of yours. No worries...any of yours you'd recognize, they'd still be all fleshy. I don't too much like skinning and what not if I don't have to do it."

All this time Caden has been doing what was needed to be done. His job that Hunter placed him on needed him so that's was what he did for the past Gods know how long. Sighing he made his way above deck, his eyes squinted a little before they adjusted, he needed to stay above deck a lot longer sometimes. Quietly he looked around and saw something weird minding Savvy's post, probably something she carries with her at times. Though it was a good way to get away from her job. Chuckling he made his way around deck until he saw her and the Capitan, he even caught her end of the conversation. "I say that's a pretty cool idea, got something to do? Stick someone else in your place until you're ready to come back." A light chuckle as he leaned against the railing slightly. "So how many of these creatures do you carry?"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 26, 2007 8:26 pm

"You're father is better than some, worse than others. At least he knows when to obey and when to command."

glancing at the skeletal thing.

"So. how does it know what to do with the rigging and sails."

before glancing at Caden who asked his own question about the undead skeleton thing.

"You're work had better be done, or get back down there."

Desdemona was sulking in her own little cabin below deck. how dare that white scaled wimp call her out like that. and how dare that red oaf get involved in things not his business. she started it.

But she was going through her outfits, and trying things on, keep her mind on herself, and that way she didn't get an overwhelming urge to kill someone.

Her ears twitched at the new voice that came up on her other side. "Oh...well, I think it was eighty two last time I checked. Not very many but I'm not too high up in my studies yet, and necromantic control only goes but so far. Life and death doins are just not handed to novices." Giving a light sigh and tucking some loose strands of hair she felt against her cheek.

"He's a very military minded man in foreign situations. It suits him when he needs." Shifting her weight. "Necromantic encription. Just because my father knows of what I do does not mean he was my sole teacher. I had other true necromancers that could teach me." A slight chuckle though as he threatened Caden. "Are you sure you want to send him back down there? He may get eaten...your dragoness is busy being hate filled and sulky again. Does she ever stop that?" Mmm, diety worship did get you some perks.

"Eighty Two? That's pretty cool. What kind of creatures do you carry with you? I know you got that dragon you raised awhile ago and that person over there." He had to wonder how many her father controlled, after all the man is stronger than his daughter. A look to Hunter and he blinked a little, oh so now he was going to get it? "Of course I've done my job. If I haven't I wouldn't be here right now." He spent a few hours down below working his own butt off to do what was asked, he needed the fresh air.

"She gets like that. her moods are as fluid and shifting as the sands. give her an hour or so, and she'll either be pleasent or perky, or annoyingly frustrated and aggravating."

A shrug. and a glance at Caden.

"Good."

before taking a gander at the sands and the big black recent aggravation.

"eighty-two is almost a standing militia in this place. how many can you control at one time?"

Okay. back to the good old halter top with lioncloth. it was just so much more breathable and plaesnt and showed off her legs and tail nicely. and her well toned belly and a good amount of cleavage. and her nice bronzed skin. yes, she was very fetching, and far moreso that that little white frightened girl.

though, if hunter wasn't going to pay her attention like she deserved soon, maybe she'd rile up some feathers and see if she couldn't get red's head to turn a bit.

"Orcs, orgres, elves, humans, griffons, snakes various other bipeds, quadraped, and other creatures whos names you couldn't even pronounce with your tongue. My father recently gave me something akin to what you humans would call a daemon." Crossing her arms lighly over her chest, scooting the toe of her boot out till she foudn where the railing and deck met. "I like it when she's hateful and what not, personally." For her own gain of course. "Eighty-two is a standing militia? No wonder you all seem to be on the lacking end of life. That's pocket change in most places. But...I've gotten up ten. Still young and learning." But of course that was a lie...her father had taught her that you never gave up your real numbers...just in case you needed that extra surprise. "I'm surprised you all don't find this morbidly absurd...most loose their stomachs by now."

Caden raised an eyebrow to Savvy's list of creatures she had under her control and blinked a few times. "Impressive really, though you got a daemon huh? Must be fun having one of those under your control. Though what kind of names do you mean? Can I hear one?" It may seem odd that he was asking her all these things but ever since he has watched the elf use her magic Caden had a little bit of an interest in her area of magic. A look to Hunter and he gave a nod before turning back to the elf. "Well I don't mind it much. After seeing some of your skills I've gain a bit of interest in necromancy. Not to practice it but to know about it would be good enough for me, I never met anyone who has practiced that area before."

A slight chuckle.

"Lass, when you've been on the sands as long as I have, things like the dead don't bother you anymore. I've seen everything from bones to the have digested. there was even one poor soul that got himself on the wrong end of a young goliath. half digested, but still alive to feel it. since he wasn't one of mine, we left him there for the worms. keeps them occupied, so we don't have to worry about them."

Though a slight shrug at the daemon thing.

"Power is only as good as the person wielding it. you can have a dragon with six heads, but if you can't get it to work at it's best, it's not as effective as one single head."

though a glance at his crew. lets see...ten less of them would be how much more loot for the rest of them including himself?

"If that's what you want to call it. And it's not a matter of fun...and I mean ones that have syllables that you can't even get." Though he got a bored look to his request, seeing as to her it was a request of entertainment and Savvy considered herself no ones entertainment monkey. "Fascinated are you? Suprising." She guessed there was an odd human in all the bunches...of coruse that meant she would have to make a personal mission to destroy that aloof look. She strived to make some fear what she could do after all.

"Hm, no mercy when not needed. I like that." Kicking her boot against the meeting of railing and deck again. She appealed to him in that manner she supposed...after all, fearing death and decay the way most did was really something to be appauled at. "Well Captain....you're not as daft as you look...you know the meaning of power." Which was admirable for a human really. "Maybe you're not a complete waste of planar space after all."
