Lady Psycho Sexy Zephyrkitty Owwin Lady Psycho Sexy Yeah that's how I feel about it too. I think a lot of the suffering nice guys endure is trying to keep her. They need to accept that change is the only constant, and fully appreciate the time they have instead of trying desperately to drag it on. The desire to have it last forever is what leads to the heartbreak they b***h about. I think relationships should not be called romantic, but rather categories like, a procreation relationship, which is an agreement to stick together to bear and raise a healthy stable child, lust relationships for when people find each other physically attractive, and friendships. Boom. Covers all of your social needs. Just raising a question here: What if, for whatever reason, one or both partners in this situation want to split up? Forcing two people to stay together for the sake of the kid seems like it would be counter-productive to raising a healthy stable child. Ah, but would they, without the drama associated with romance? It'd be more of a business relationship.
And anyway, if the kid didn't associate 'family' with 'love', then the parents finding 'replacements' would be easier for them to accept. Stick together may be the wrong thing. What I mean is stick around. They don't have to live together, or like each other, but they both have to be there for the kid. They don't have to love each other. They do however have to love the kid.

Do you remember that passage where Jonas asked his parents if they loved him, and they chastised him for using imprecise language?

Do you remember that passage where Jonas asked his parents if they loved him, and they chastised him for using imprecise language? I read it in like 6th grade. But yeah that is what I mean. The parents don't have to love each other, but they have to be around and they have to love the kid. I may not like romantic love because it is fleeting, but the bond between a parent and child is necessary and you gotta have both of them even if they don't talk to each other and they have to tell the kid they love him/her. Not loving a partner happens, but not letting a child know you love them ruins the whole relationship model.

I think the word 'love' would have to be redefined for a family like that to work. 'Love' as Jonas felt it has no place in a family headed by partners instead of lovers.
@Amber: Same reason the kids are all numbered: population control. Too many people and not enough food = famine, which is one of the woes that Sameness aimed to eliminate.

Nice guys really piss me off. They make me never want to pay anyone I don't know any mind ever again just so I don't end up with an emotional clingy mess of a friend who whines about being stuck in the friend zone.

I never had any use for that luck ring from the Golden Ticket/Egg.
Perhaps I should sell it. I already seem to be well off hunting for loot.
