Froslass had her appeal worked out already, she seemed to be getting the hang of it now and Crenu was confident she could pull it off when the time came. As long as she kept her nerves at bay during the performance there shouldn't be any major hiccups. As for Poliwhirl, well Poliwhirl was still unpredictable but for the most part he seemed to have gotten the message. They'd only managed to get two techniques worked out before Poliwhirl fell, but that would have to be enough for now. His natural showboating nature and fancy footwork, or handwork when the mood strikes him, were an asset here. Unfortunately over confidence and showing off too much could be an issue as well, and Crenu couldn't shake the feeling that Poliwhirl's defeat would most likely be due to his own actions. Still, for now there were no other options when it came to this particular contest. For future contests Crenu would be able to train one of his other pokemon to do the battle portion of the contests, unless of course Poliwhirl exceeded expectations, but right now there was no time and the only other pokemon that could possibly do this was Swinub. He was sure that Kenneth had trained Swinub in the arts of Pokemon Contests while in his care and he might even have a contest of two under his fuzzy belt, but winning with a renown coordinator's pokemon would defeat the point of entering the contest in the first place. There was no sport in winning that way at all. Though as the red roofed building came into view Crenu stopped cold, having remembered something crucial. How was he going to get his pokemon healed? He was sure that by now someone would have found the bloody mess and broken glass in his room, and Nurse Joy sure as hell wouldn't forget that she'd given that room to him in less than a day. A dilemma to say the least.
Crenu continued onward, thinking of a million different stories and excuses as well as a few other options. A disguise perhaps, no one would question someone wanting to stay anonymous. Or maybe going to another center, Fearow could fly him to Saffron and back before the contest started. That looked to be the best option right now but Crenu didn't want to take any chances seeing as the contest time grew closer and closer. As he got closer to the Pokemon Center though all those thoughts soon vanished as a certain raven haired girl came into view. Sitting on a bench just outside the center was the one person that managed to get his pulse to race, something that only the hallucinations had also managed to do in years. But the way she did it was...pleasant. Her Quilava was sitting on her lap, Eris if he remembered correctly, they looked peaceful. Looked...happy. A part of him wanted to leave them alone, how could he even consider infecting this happy little picture with his miserable darkness? Only suffering could come to Riza if she stuck with him, especially now with his suspicions about his health. But then there was that kiss...that kiss that she planted on him so suddenly last night, that kiss that probably shouldn't have happened. shouldn't have, but did...and he was glad it did. It was nice. Something that was full of...full of a warmth. Made him feel a myriad of emotions that were new to him, that were very strange. It was something that peeked his curiosity and he couldn't leave the questions it rose unanswered. Still lost in thought he hadn't even noticed that his feet had carried him over to the bench where Riza sat. "She looks comfortable." Was all he could say at first, deciding to remain standing. "Training went well?"

They neared the Route leading to Jubilife City without a sound. Eztli had long gotten over her humiliation of changing in front of Kai, but she was still upset at her forced entry in Doulos. Eztli was loyal and intelligent, something the recruiters obviously looked for, but she was happy with her current life of simply being a Trainer and she had a more refined sense of right and wrong then Mixcoatl did. She knew that this entire organization fell under the category of wrong. And yet here she was, carrying out one of their missions for them. Though what choice did she have, they would kill her if she didn't. She enjoyed life, no matter her hardships, and she was just selfish enough to prize her life over doing the right thing and refusing the mission. This dilemma ran through her head several times as they Surfed and finally disembarked. They stood on a small dock that connected to the mainland. Eztli could see some of the ultra-modern buildings already. The route was rather short, and she began walking towards the city without a sound. Kai quickly followed, wary of the Bracelet. Though he was assigned only to be a shadow, he wasn't supposed to purposely harm the agent-in-training in any way. This would include carelessly allowing the Death Bracelet to go off.
"Would you stop a minute? Or do you want to die?" Kai hissed to Eztli as he walked along side her. She glanced sideways, her face carefully expressionless.
"You caught up well enough." Kai sighed, and restrained himself from slapping the girl. She needed a little discipline. As they entered into the city limits, Eztli began looking for a phone booth before she quickly realized that in this modern city, there were very few phone booths left. After all, who needed those with one's cell phone seemed have to become an extra limb? Eztli frowned slightly before finding another solution. Adler was a journalist, so he probably talked with the TV stations every so often, right? Eztli headed for the gigantic cube of a building that was the Jubilife TV Station. Kai followed at the fringe of the Death Bracelet's radius, not close enough to be suspicious. Eztli glanced skyward before entering the building. The sky was growing dark, she had better think of a good idea as to why she was calling on Adler so late. She bit her lip unconsciously, then stopped and put on an anxious smile as she approached the desk. The receptionist didn't glance up. "Hi there," Eztli said, bubbly and friendly, immersing herself in the Alixandra Harris persona. The receptionist plastered on a fake smile.
"Hello there. Welcome to the Jubilife TV Station, can I help you with anything?"
"Yes, I'm looking for Reinhardt Adler. Any idea where he might be?" Eztli asked, flashing a smile. The receptionist looked at her questioningly.
"Mr. Adler? Well, he's up in his office right now, but I don't believe he had any appointments today. Can I ask why?"
"Well...My name is Alix Harris. Mr. Adler spoke to me a few days ago to get a quote, but he never wrote the article. I just wanted to ask him why."
"Well, that should be filed under the complaints department, there is hardly a need to actually see him."
"Please, ma'am. You see...he..." Eztli fell silent, unable to come up with a reason. The receptionist turned away. Eztli suddenly felt a thrill of fear as she realized how quickly she was failing. "Ma'am, I'm sorry, it's just a little hard for me. You see, he was asking for a quote about my sister, who just recently died. He said he was going to write a nice story about her and victims like her, she was depressed you see, but instead...he wrote some other fluff piece. It didn't honor my sister at all." Eztli attempted to bring fake tears to her eyes, and was surprised when they came pretty easily. Her eyes now shone brightly with glistening tears. The receptionist frowned, reluctant to let any sad sob story through, but apparently Eztli was a good enough actress because she motioned to the elevator.
"You're in luck. He has two offices you know, one here and one across town. He usually leaves here early." Eztli smiled tentatively.
"Thanks," she said quietly, allowing her voice to falter a bit. This was easier then she thought. She didn't like having to lie to the poor woman, but how else was she supposed to complete her mission? Eztli was not a lie-in-wait-and-ambush sort of person. Eztli started for the elevator, but the lady stopped her.
"Wait, you have to sign in. Just a formality you understand." Eztli nodded. She took the clipboard and pen, and signed "Alixandra Harris" with a flourish. It was nothing like her real signature, which was plain and legible. This was written almost sideways, with little hearts dotting the i's and hardly legible it was so squished together. Eztli handed her back the clipboard, a sweet smile on her face, before proceeding to the elevator bank. Kai slipped into the elevator before the doors closed.
"How?" she asked.
"Easy. Charm my way in just like you."
"What name?"
"George Tannenbaum. I don't like it, but it is an easy throwaway name. You might have to drop the Alix persona soon. It is too distinctive." Eztli frowned.
"Are you supposed to be giving me advice?" Kai shrugged.
"I'm tired of leading failed missions. Makes me look like an idiot when it is really the recruiters fault. So I would like it if one of you stupid newbies wouldn't get caught or killed."

"Aw, shucks, Ross! You flatter me," Jasper said cutely, batting his eyelashes at the older man, and Ross rolled his eyes in reply. "But seriously, though," Jasper went on, his tone and expression becoming quite serious. "I won't get caught. You know I've given up on the big-time scams and schemes. I'm not a greedy person, I only work enough so we can get by. I'm not a greedy person," the boy said, repeating the last line for emphasis. Ditto slid from his shoulder and landed on the floor with a sound that reminded Jasper of someone tossing a glob of mashed potatoes onto the floor. The Transform Pokemon knew his trainer was sensitive about this subject, even if he did love his line of work. It was true though, as they rarely took more than they needed; enough to keep them both fed and Jasper clothed, and even paid for the occasional lodging in a motel. Besides that though, the pair had very few possessions, and most of it included makeup kits, props and spare clothing to be used with their jobs.
"I know you're not greedy," Ross answered, removing his cap and setting it on the table (careful to cover the front page of his magazine as though he didn't want Jasper looking at it) before continuing, "that's never been your problem. Money and material wealth are nothing to you; it's the thrill of the chase, and seeing how far you can ride out your little scams before they crash and burn. You live for the game, Jasper, and that's what's gonna get you in trouble."
Jasper rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Spare me the lecture," he grumbled, even though he knew Ross meant well. "Ditto 'n me just need a place to crash for the night," he said, placing careful emphasis on the word crash to show he'd understood Ross' statement.
The guard sighed, but relented pretty quickly. "Yeah, yeah, the storage room is yours," he said, nodding. "You've gotta clear out of there by four-thirty, though. Shift-change is at five, and I don't want to have to explain you being there."
"Fair enough," Jasper agreed, prodding Ditto with his foot, as the Pokemon had shaped itself like a cinder block and was doing its best to remain perfectly still.
"I still don't know why you don't just go to the Pokemon Center in town," Ross said, raising an eyebrow at the boy. "It's free, and you'd get a nice, warm bed to sleep in. Not to mention they have shower facilities there."
"Are you saying I stink?"
"Don't change the subject."
"I'm not changing the subject. You mentioned showers, implying that I need one."
"I did not. I simply asked why you don't stay at the Pokemon Center. A lot of traveling trainers stay there."
Jasper frowned, and grabbed Ditto from the floor, and the Pokemon instantly shifted back to his normal form. "I don't stay there because I'm not a trainer," he said curtly. "It's as simple as that."

The long hot shower Akane shared with Twinkers was just what she needed to wash away both the sweaty feeling and the lingering emotions that her nightmarish dreams conjured. After she dried, brushed and styled her hair, and got dressed she was ready to go, even though it was rather late - 9:17 by the clock in the room. What better time to catch her next Pokemon? Viridian Forest wasn't very far away, she did have a flashlight and some camping gear (enough, she hoped) and the Pokemon she sought was most active at night time. Akane double checked she had all her gear, especially sure to check she had her Pokeballs handy, then turned the light to her room off giving it one last glance. It looked like she had never slept in the room at all.
The Pokemon Center was quiet. A Chansey was on duty for the night and waved happily at the pair as they left with a cheery "Chansey!". Just as well, Akane had the feeling that Nurse Joy might have told her to go back to bed. The doors quietly slid closed behind her as she strode out into the night air.
Viridian City at night was a bit more active than the Pokemon Center, though not by a whole lot. A few grown-ups were out walking but paid the young trainer no mind. Avoiding the busier streets, Akane left Viridian City and headed north on the road towards the forest. Not far ahead the forest loomed, a thing not dissimilar to the dark shapes in her dream.

It turns out that Dante was never wrong, well he was occasionally but for the vast majority of the time he wasn't. After his very brief trip through Oreburg, Dante made his way quickly out of the mining town. The hipster looking boy was stopped for just a moment at the muddy slope before he sighed and glancing up at Apollo he just shrugged. It was a good thing the Rapidash was here because Dante didn't have a bike, though he might have picked one up if he didn't have the Rapidash. Either way the slope was quick and easy work for the large silver pokemon. As Dante dismounted he heard a light clapping coming from behind him. With his feet on the ground he cast a curious look back.
Ten feet or so behind him there was a blond girl who seemed to have been impressed by him. Raising an eyebrow as he looked at her Dante wondered what she was doing here.
"Your Rapidash is very impressive, not to mention beautiful." The girl greeted with a smile. If she had greeted anyone else other then Dante they would probably be commenting on how beautiful the girl was. With her long blonde hair with loose big curls, she was wearing a light pink dress and an angelic smile on her face.
"Hm, thank you." Was all Dante said as he patted Apollo on the flank while casting a small glance at the egg still tied to his side. He wasn't to interested in what this girl had to say, though this girl seemed to be interested in him.
Seeing that he had answered her she came closer to him and reached out for a second as if to pet Apollo before taking it back slightly. "Would it be ok if I pet him?" She asked curiously.
"Hn, if Apollo lets you then its fine. Don't get mad at me if you get burned though." Was all Dante said as he decided he was done with this conversation. Walking away, assuming Apollo would follow him Dante headed in the direction of the town. He still had a long way to go if he was going to get those items anytime soon. Behind him Apollo waited for the girl to pat him before trotting off to follow Dante. Unfortunately, for Dante that is, the girl decided that she was going to follow them around to.

Train listened quietly as Carlos spoke, only mildly interested until he mentioned Deoxys, although she did think it would be pretty neat to run into a Clefairy. ”Really?” She asked, eyes shifting to Carlos, also noticing just how close she’d been straying to the two boys and taking a small step to the side so she didn’t feel like she was being obnoxious. ”That’s really cool…” The teenager pondered for a moment before deciding something. ”Maybe we could visit Hoenn after we’ve been in Johto for a bit to see if we can find out more about it?” She suggested, stepping around a rather large boulder that they were about to pass. She made the mistake of glancing around them, and thus happened to notice that the farther in the cave they got, the darker it seemed to get. They could still see fairly well if they had at least semi-decent eyesight, but it was still pretty creepy to her, as the shadows cast by the rock and the Pokémon that were scurrying about just looked freaky.

Akane was having some doubts about how wise her plan was. Viridian Forest at night was pretty creepy. The canopy and clouds blocked a lot of the moonlight, strange noises broke the eerie silence, and every step she took thundered in her ears. Still, having Twinkers with her was a large comfort. She followed what she could only assume was the path deeper into the gloom of the forest.
Things got easier for the young trainer after what seemed (for her) an eternity. Her eyes adjusted to the gloom and the few clouds that had been hiding the moon cleared improving just how well she could see. She almost wished the clouds had stayed in place as she realized that the trees all around her were laden with Kakuna, their black eyes glinting in the moonlight.
Akane froze.
Where there were Kakuna there were undoubtedly Beedrill. Lots of Beedrill. One Beedrill was scary, lots of Beedrill were terrifying.
Twinkers didn't seem to notice that Akane had stopped and bumped into her and promptly fell backwards on her butt with a thud. Before the pink Pokemon could utter the "Fair?" that was forming Akane was kneeling at Twinkers side with a slender hand against her mouth, willing her to be quiet. The pair stayed frozen in place for some time, Akane's ears straining to hear the sound of angry Beedrill or even the rustle of the Kakuna all while hoping they couldn't hear her heart that was pounding like a tom-tom (at least to her panicked mind). Luckily the Kakuna seemed to be asleep, or maybe didn't think the pair any kind of threat. Either way there was no swarm of Beedrill coming to chase her off or worse, at least yet. Very slowly Akane straightened up and helped Twinkers up. The young trainer placed a finger to her lips silently telling her Clefairy not to break the silence. With the speed of a Shuckle they backed up from the Kakuna trees trying their best to be silent. Akane now had no doubts that going into the forest at night was not a good idea.

Kasiya had remained quiet in order to not disrupt Keegan and Helios as they weakened the Growlithe, clapping and cheering loudly only after the Great Ball had come to rest on the ground. "Congratulations!" she said, glancing between the redhead and his Ninetales. "You both were great!" That had been the first time she'd seen Helios in battle since his evolution from a tiny little Vulpix, and though she knew he wasn't going all out against the puppy Pokemon, she still couldn't help but be impressed. "Oh, the Muk?" she said, grinning broadly as she fished her own Great Ball from her pocket. "It's right here, I captured it!" she announced, as though it were the rarest Pokemon on earth. "It put up a great fight and was so tough and cute. And after battling Master Koga's Muk, I'm sure I can train this one to be a tough fighter, too."
=-=-=-=-= Jake smiled and returned Robin's wave as she dashed out of the Pokemon Center, and he lightly touched his fingers to his lips, as they were tingling slightly from her quick kiss. Turtwig was busily staring at the floor, not wanting to be embarrassed by his trainer again, though this time, at least, it didn't last long. Jake blushed a bit when he realized the nurse had been watching them with a smile, as it seemed she thought the two young trainers made a cute couple. Jake cleared his throat and turned to head out, but the nurse stopped him.
"If you're looking for a place to train, you could always use our arena out back," she said, pointing to a door in the rear of the center. "It's a full-sized battlefield, and I'm pretty sure nobody's using it right now." The ever-faithful Chansey at her side trilled happily in agreement.
"Really? That sounds great, thanks," Jake said, nodding appreciatively.
"Might I ask what you're training for?" the nurse asked curiously.
"Oh, well, I plan to challenge Roark," Jake answered, somewhat shyly. Turtwig puffed out his chest and tried to look tough.
The nurse giggled. "Well then, I wish you both the best of luck." She smiled and waved as the trainer and his Pokemon headed for the door she'd pointed out, going back to her duties once they'd left.

Keegan frowned and took a step back from the Great Ball in Kasiya's hand, half-expecting the Muk's awful stink to start wafting out of it any moment. He would have asked her why she caught it, but she answered that before he could get a chance, and he sighed, and shook his head. "Well, congratulations, I suppose," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "But if anyone can train a Muk, I'm sure you can." He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her as he kissed her on the forehead. Helios scoffed and rolled his eyes, but stayed obediently by his trainer's side. He was feeling a bit tired from the battle, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle.
Keegan checked the time on his watch, and sighed a second time. "It's getting late," he said, looking back towards where he assumed the stairs were. "We should be getting back now. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, so we should try to get some rest at the very least." ===== Miharu shrugged. "I'm fine with staying here in Johto for now," she said, sipping her chocolate milk. "Besides, I still have three badges left to earn." She had a few more small bites of her supper, already feeling quite full. "There are trains to Johto, and we could take a ferry to Hoenn or Sinnoh if we really wanted to," she answered, smiling at Sam. "And yeah, you make sense. You look exhausted, but you're making sense. It's been fun traveling with you, but I'm not sure how long our paths will be the same. I need to head back to Olivine eventually, and you'll be heading to Violet for your next match..." she trailed off, drawing patterns in the condensation on her glass with her finger. She didn't really want to part ways with her new friend so soon, but she wasn't sure how they could keep traveling together while still keeping to their own plans. A yawn escaped her then, and she rubbed her eyes, also realizing how tired she was. "We can talk about it more in the morning," she said, stifling a second yawn.
She made sure all her dishes were returned to the kitchen area and she recalled all her Pokemon, except for Tingle. The Metang had behaved itself quite well and Miharu figured it would be good for it to have some time outside of his PokeBall. She bid goodnight to Sam before asking for a room key, which the kind nurse turned over without incident. It didn't take long for her to change into her favourite Sentret-print, fuzzy flannel pajamas, and she brushed her teeth and climbed into bed, easily falling asleep in seconds.

It took all of Kasiya's willpower not to flinch and cringe away from the redhead's touch, though once his arms were securely around her, that familiar feeling of warmth and safety overcame her in a rush, and she suddenly wondered why she'd been so scared. It's his temper that frightens me, she thought, closing her eyes as he kissed her forehead. He's unpredictable when he's angry, and that's what scares me. She put Muk's Great Ball back in her pocket, wondering idly what name she'd give the Sludge Pokemon. "Yeah, you're right," she said, nodding, pointing her flashlight in the direction of the stairs. "It shouldn't take us too long to get out of here if we hurry."
Kasiya walked quickly, leading the way to the stairs with her flashlight as a guide. They creaked loudly under the weight of the two as they climbed up, and were greeted by the pale moonlight shining down through the gaps in the ceiling. From there it was easy to get out of the mansion, though another thought crossed Kasiya's mind. "Let's make a quick pitstop at the Pokemon Center first," she suggested. "I want to get Seto healed, and send this cute little guy to stay with Professor Oak for now."
=-=-=-=-= "Wow, check this place out," Jake mumbled to himself as he and Turtwig looked around the area, neither have been expecting the Pokemon Center to have an arena in its back yard. Turtwig had hopped down from his trainer's shoulder and was now busily exploring, and they both quickly realized this place was well-used. The packed-dirt ground was covered in gouges and scrapes, and the white chalk lines used to indicate the out-of-bounds area were scuffed and messed up in some areas. "Very cool," Jake marveled, standing in the middle of the field with his hands on his hips. "I think this will be just perfect."
He took Bidoof's Pokeball from his pocket and gave it a toss, and the brown, fluffy Pokemon shook herself out and looked around. She didn't see any immediate threats, except for the annoying Turtwig, but she didn't really count him. She padded over to her trainer's side and looked up at him expectantly. This looked like a place to battle, but just who was she gonna battle?
"Okay you too, get into position. Turtwig, you're on the right, and Bidoof, you're on the left. You two are going to have a training match to help us get ready for our first gym battle." Bidoof gave an excited cry and darted off to her position while Turtwig sulked a bit, and took his sweet time getting to his. "I'm going to be giving you both commands, and though this is a training match, I want you two to do your best, all right?" The two Pokemon nodded, and Jake clapped his hands and backed off the field. "Let's go! Both of you; Tackle attack!" His voice was strong and confident, and both Pokemon acknowledged their commands by rushing forward. Bidoof was obviously more eager to fight than Turtwig, but the Tiny Leaf Pokemon was determined to prove to Jake he could be counted on. They clashed in the center of the battlefield, both landing fairly solid hits on the other. Bidoof snarled, and Turtwig frowned; he didn't like training against his new teammate very much. Weren't they supposed to be friends?

Keegan nodded in agreement, and allowed Kasiya to show them the way to the stairs that led to the main floor. He'd kept Helios out his PokeBall for safety's sake until they were out of the mansion, and then he recalled the Ninetales for a well-deserved rest, pausing once they were on the other side of the fence (Keegan had chosen to crawl through the gap in the fence instead of the more-painful climbing-over-it option). He too was going over names for the Growlithe in his head, and he finally settled on Eithne as Kasiya mentioned the Pokemon Center. "Yeah, you're right," he said, looking at the Great Ball that held his newest Pokemon once more. "Blaine does have a healing machine at his lab though," he pointed out, but Kasiya was already heading off towards the center. The redhead shrugged and followed after her again, only now registering her 'cute little guy' comment. He wrinkled his face in disgust, and sighed, as Kasiya's definition of cute Pokemon seemed to differ quite drastically from the norm.
The redhead's mind quickly began to wander as he walked along, hands in his pockets. He was soon thinking about their upcoming 'mission', and he couldn't help but continue to worry about the blonde-haired girl walking along ahead of him. Despite the fact that she was an accomplished trainer (and he was sure her Pokemon would have no trouble with whatever the Magma grunts would throw at them), he was intuitive enough to realize that there probably wouldn't be much in the way of actual Pokemon battles, and he couldn't stand the though of Kasiya getting herself hurt. He grit his teeth and slowed his pace until he'd come to a full stop, and he sighed, looking at the ground. They were just outside of the Pokemon Center now, but he didn't care. He needed to make sure Kasiya understood just how serious this whole thing was, if not talk her out of going along completely. "Kassie, wait," he said finally, both hands resting deep in his coat pockets. "I need to talk to you about something. About, tomorrow, actually."

A lot of the names that Kasiya had come up with for her new Muk were fairly funny, and she was snickering to herself as she walked, trying to decide between the ones she thought were funniest - Goober and Bubbles - when she heard Keegan call out to her. There was something about his tone that made her uneasy, and she turned to face him, her smile quickly fading. "Yeah? What's wrong?" she asked, a little more worried now that he'd mentioned tomorrow. She was having enough trouble not freaking out about it already, and she wasn't sure she even wanted to know what he was going to say. "Everything okay?"
=-=-=-=-= Bidoof didn't seem to mind this training setup, as she had been looking to score a little payback on Turtwig for the defeat she'd suffered at his hands earlier in the day. Without waiting for another command from Jake she sped forward, jumping into a Quick Attack. She growled sharply as she neared her teammate, throwing all her weight into the speedy strike. Turtwig cried out as he was knocked over backwards, but he jumped to his feet, recovering quickly. "Let's see how she likes your Body Slam," Jake suggested.
Turtwig nodded and charged at the mousy Pokemon, gritting his teeth as he launched all his weight into his teammate. Bidoof cried out painfully as the heavier Turtwig slammed into her, and she got to her feet and darted away, very much annoyed with the Grass-type. "Body Slam is looking good," Jake murmured to himself, though he knew the attack would be fairly useless against Roark's Rock-types. He looked back over to Bidoof, about to ask her to use Quick Attack, but she was already in the process of something else. She began to run forward, curling into a ball as she did so. At first Jake thought this was some variation of Defense Curl, but she was now speeding towards Turtwig too fast for it to be the defensive maneuver.
Turtwig couldn't get out of the way quick enough and he cried out as the rolling Bidoof slammed into him again. He jumped to his feet and fired off a volley of Razor Leaves at her, but they all missed by a fair amount. "Hmm." Jake took the PokeDex out of his pocket and found Bidoof's entry, raising an eyebrow when he saw that she'd learned how to use Rollout. That could be handy, he thought, closing it and looking up as Bidoof came around for another pass.

He already knew she wasn't going to like what he had to say, but that wasn't going to stop him. Keegan took his sliver lighter out of his pocket and flicked it open, watching the flame burn brightly for a second or two before snapping it shut again. He breathed in slowly through his nose, trying to keep calm as he tried to formulate his thoughts into words. "No, everything isn't okay," he said, resisting the urge to light a cigarette. "This whole Magma thing tomorrow, well, it's gonna be dangerous. They're going to do everything they can to stop us from getting to Maxie, so there's a very strong chance they'll resort to using brute force against us, and I'm not just talking about Pokemon and battling. This is gonna be like the Slateport incident - chaotic, violent, and messy. I'm pretty sure we all won't be coming out of there in once piece, either. Are you sure you can handle that?" he asked, stepping closer to her. His tone wasn't one of anger, but of concern, and his emerald eyes were practically pleading with the girl as he spoke. "I know you think I'm underestimating you, but I'm really not. I just can't stand the thought of you getting hurt, or worse. I love you, Kassie, and if something happened to you, I don't know what I'd do."

Sam nodded sleepily at Miharu before she got up and went to bed. Sam continued to sit in her chair for a moment, still trying to process everything going on in her brain. There wasn't much she could do however, so she gave up. She still didn't get up from her chair. Her eyes felt heavy.
'I should probably...get up. And go to sleep. In a room.' Sam thought hazily in one part of her brain. The other larger part of her brain was already asleep. She closed her eyes, not caring that she was sleeping in a chair in the cafeteria. She could sleep just about anywhere, on benches, sand, rock...It didn't really matter. She only got to sleep for about 5 minutes before the Nurse Joy came over and tapped her shoulder. She was slow to wake.
"Excuse me, do you need to check out a room?" Sam's vision was a little hazy, but she could still discern it was Nurse Joy. She nodded. She attempted to stand, but instead halfway slid out of her chair, onto her knees. She stood up from there, her limbs somehow both like marshmallow and like lead. The Nurse Joy handed her a room key and her pack, which she had left on the floor, and Sam slowly shuffled to her room, yawning. She didn't bother to get undressed, instead choosing to flop on the bed, with her head at the foot of the bed. Too late in realizing her mistake, and too tired to correct it, she grabbed the pillow with her feet, and brought it to her head.
'Good enough,' she thought, before promptly falling asleep again.

Deciding to just wonder around the shop some Robin and Black*Star looked at all the little nic-nacks that decorated the shelves. They really had no idea what one of these Royal Rocks looked like. There were lots of pokeballs and a bunch of other cool things. Hmm Maybe she should pick up a TM or two? Well she had to get that rock first! If she had money after she could buy one. "Hmm, where could it be?" Robin wondered as she passed a small sign that read 'Ask Cashier up front for our towns special Kings Rock!' Gah! It has to be around here somewhere!
As Robin looked at various things Black*Star started to get bored. There wasn't much in in this shop for him to do. It was empty to other then the clerk and Robin so he couldn't show off how glorious he was. Squirming a bit in her arms Black*Star watched in boredom as Robins search seemed to get a little desperate. Black*Star watched again as they passed the TM isle again and wondered if he could get a really cool move while they were here. Reaching out he grabbed one of the fake TM's from the shelf at random and he held it up to Robin. He wanted this one! Ok so he had no idea what it would do or anything but he wanted it.
When Black*Star started to wave the fake TM around in her face Robin just sighed and gave him an exasperated look. "All right, I will get you that TM if I have enough money after I buy this Royal Rock thing." Black*Star waved it in front of her face some more clearly not taking no for an answer. Unfortunately he managed to smack Robin in the face causing her to let out a loud 'Eep!' before she stumbled backwards and knocked a whole shelf down. "Ouch! Black*Star knock it off!" Robin chastised as she put the Totodile down and frowned at him before giving the shopkeeper, who was glaring at her an apologetic look. "Super sorry! I will clean it up I promise!" Turning back to Black*Star who was still holding the disk up at her she frowned at him. "Fine, I will buy you the TM if you help me clean the mess you made up."
