Whenever I dA search "Mek" I get thienbao's piece and a bunch of artistic n***s and animals. "Mekania" is all my stuff though. It's fun when you're super bored xd

Mekania
It's nice to see Mekania Corp. (my fav. Korean company!) is still going strong.

It is? Thank goodness - that's my favourite Korean company, as well (;
I owe you ten million emails, I know - I'm sorry. I'll get to them soon ... really! (;

None of my characters have names so original that I don't get ten million hits back for other things when I search (; Slightly different story on dA - the most relevant returns I get back are for my own name, but I share that with a place, a book title, and someone's angsty-looking black and white artwork of their character.

Oh, yes! And they've actually improved on their website's functionality and it's in English too! I finally know what it actually does~ (for the curious: they build machines that make other things).

Oh, good! I thought your email might have eaten them so I was going to resend them in a week. Or probably not...I'm lazy =D

None of my other characters have an hits pertaining to me outside of dA except when I type "loki dancer" in google and my kheleksul piece pops up. But it's mostly the norse Loki.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I love when artists forget about your commission, then open a new thread for commissions... -_-

Just wanted to remind everyone that the new year is a good time to keep up with your computer maintenance.

Perhaps you didn't realize that, in addition to dusting your screen from the outside, it's necessary to clean it from the inside where you normally can't wipe. Click on the link below and watch the difference in clarity.

I was looking through request threads and I saw someone had put in their rules that people weren't to ask them who did the art in their request thread (in the examples and banners etc) because it was rude to ask (under the explanation that the requester had worked hard to look for artists and ... well, that was the only reason given).

So ... thoughts? Is it really impolite to ask? I always state who drew something when I post in my request thread and the idea that it would be rude for someone to ask seems a bit bizarre to me.

On an unrelated note ... rate my avatar, please? <- bored. I'll rate yours (;

Completely disagree, but, like I said before, there's always people who want to hog everything to themselves sweatdrop

Lol. You know there are those personality tests where it's strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, and then strongly disagree? I'm whatever is past, to the right of that 'strongly disagree' bubble. As an artist, I'm offended, lol. It's not like just not citing a piece - it's like removing my signature. "Oh, someone worked for me, but they don't matter."

Pretty sure if I did something for someone, I'd like them to tell whoever wanted to know. After all, as artists, we tend to look for work and need all the help we can get. Suffice to say, you try to get your name out there, one commissioner shouldn't be guarding it back like it's a secret of the gods.

So, this commissioner worked hard to find his artist? I don't know of any art whore who hasn't. And in turn, the artist probably worked hard on the piece and could use a recommendation in exchange. It's rude to an artist to think that you shouldn't spread their name or else they'll stop working for you.

Nyah, I just like my credit when I do something. I'm probably reading too deep between the lines, but that's my opinion.

People wouldn't need to ask if they had it clearly stated on there?
And really... shouldn't they?

Even when you pay for art you need to credit the artist when your showing it.
I doubt the artist would be happy if they knew they weren't getting credited or properly exposed
to generate get more interest in their work that could perhaps lead to more commissions coming in. ^^`

That person is really backward on it.. I can see people asking all the time being potentially ANNOYING
to some, if they are busy or not on often or just that sort of personality... But in that case.. again,
just crediting the artist where your showing the work should cover that with a friendly reminder
in the rules that its stated on the page so you dont need to pm? *shrug*

Eeek. DX
That would scare me away as an artist though, seriously.
Not getting credited. D=

I agree 110% with Woe. To not credit an artist for their work, even if it's your character or creation that they drew, that's just about as bad as art theft. That artist put their time and effort into that piece and they deserve to be credited for that!
