I figured out the secret to Cleverbot. There's no AI. At least for the first one that comes up on Google when you search "cleverbot". It's just users pretending to be Cleverbots.

It's not an AI! OK, try doing cleverbot again, and say things you think it would say. Like "Hello, I am Cleverbot." And things like that. Don't use contractions or anything that sounds human. After a while, you can tell that you're talking to a human. Like them misspelling words or using the wrong "their"s and "your"s. And just the way they're talking. Using emotes and multiple exclamation points. And the things they're talking about. Like they ask you things you would ask a cleverbot. It works because if two humans ask each other if they're the cleverbot, and they both say "No I'm human, you're the robot", then they both go telling people (just like Azura did) "The cleverbot is trying to tell me I'm the cleverbot." No, a human who thinks you're the cleverbot is trying to tell you you're the cleverbot.

That sound like a robot to you?
My theory is that when someone leaves or x's out, you are put with another person. That also explains why it capitalizes the first word of the sentence and puts a period at the end for you. Because it's trying to make the other person think you're a cleverbot.
